We had an amazing stay at the voco Chongqing Chaotianmen! The hotel is very stylish and feels brand new. Our suite was absolutely perfect — spacious, comfortable, and it truly made us feel at home throughout our stay. The view across the city was stunning, especially at night.
The staff were all super friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was also amazing, with a great variety and excellent quality. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chongqing!
Extremely Unsafe Baby Crib at a 5‑Star Hotel
We were shocked by what happened during our stay, especially at a 5‑star hotel. On our very first night — in the middle of the night — the baby crib provided by the hotel collapsed due to missing buckles and screws. Our baby fell through and almost suffocated. We later discovered the crib had been held together with loose strings instead of proper hardware.
This caused us so much fear and anxiety that we couldn’t sleep the rest of the night or the following night, constantly worried it might happen again.
The replacement crib wasn’t safe either. Its screws were loose, and maintenance had to fix it on the spot. That made it clear this wasn’t an isolated mistake but a serious lapse in safety standards.
I reported everything immediately to the front desk manager. It has now been a week, and they are still “working on a resolution.” What’s even more disappointing is that the general manager has not reached out at all — not even with a simple apology for such a severe incident.
For a hotel that claims to be 5‑star, this level of negligence around infant safety is unacceptable. I truly hope they take immediate action so no other family has to experience something like this.
This hotel is located opposite Raffles City shopping centre (Ascott Hotel) in the heart of the city Chongqing and some of the rooms have a great view of the river. Great connectivity and also wonderful breakfast menu that is well-planned and changes daily…
Love this hotel. We've been twice now. Will be back next year. Amazing location, great views, great beds, great bathrooms with bath and shower. Good breakfast options.
Located in a great location convenient to everywhere. The metro station is just few steps away. The rooms over look the river. Such a modern interior design. The gym has a perfect view too. The room cane with free breakfast buffet. Although the selection was plenty the taste of food is not very nice in general. The hotel comes with a laundry room too. You can do laundry for free .We had an early flight to catch. We requested to takeaway breakfast and the staff prepared it nicely for us
