We stayed two nights at a club room with lounge access. The room was large and spacious which fitted well with us as this was the end of a two week journey. Breakfast can be had at the club (32 floor) or the ground floor Xiu restaurant that is shared with Delta hotel. Guests have the use of pool (jacuzzi) and fitness center which is well maintained. Thank you to all the associates for making our stay wonderful.
Superb Sheraton with great food and service. So standout I can say this could be a JW and compare favorably to any of them worldwide.
I ordered a chicken sandwich (no bacon) and one Pepsi. However, when the order arrived, served a vegetarian sandwich instead. I returned the meal and informed the staff that my order was a chicken sandwich with no bacon. When the corrected order arrived, the food quality was very poor. The chicken was cold, the egg was chilled, and the sandwich was not served warm. In addition, the French fries were completely cold, giving the impression that they had been prepared earlier and simply reheated or re-served. Overall, this was a very disappointing room service experience. I expected fresh, hot food, but unfortunately the meal did not meet the standards I would expect from Sheraton Kunming.
The bedrooms in Sheraton Kunming were spacious and clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also so delicious! The restaurant staff even prepacks some food that u can grab and take it with you in case you don't have time to sit for breakfast. How amazing are they!! If i could give a 10 star for service i would. I had left my wallet by accident in the Didi in Kunming, and Evan Gen (Guest Services Manager) went above and beyond to help. He secured my cards, researched and pre-paid a courier to return it, and kept me updated the entire time. Truly professional, honest, and kind service. Evan is an asset to Sheraton Kunming—highly recommended!
The overall room was beautifully decorated, and I was given a nice room on the 27th floor. However, the view faced a construction site. The room had a small dining table perfect for tea and a comfortable couch for relaxation. The amenities were excellent, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Unfortunately, I was disturbed twice in the middle of the night by a room call and a knock on my door, asking me to lower my noise level—even though I was already in bed. It seems the soundproofing could have been better, as the noise likely came from another room. Additionally, I could hear loud footsteps from the floor above while trying to sleep, making me wonder if someone was having a late-night conference call. However, I can smell the smoking smell strongly at night in my room!! On a positive note, the breakfast spread was decent, and there were plenty of seats available.
