The rooms feel slightly dated, but the setting is the true highlight of the stay. The property features outstanding landscape with expansive greenery and a peaceful lake home to black swans. Combined with the snow-capped mountains in the background, the view is remarkably unique and picturesque.
Love the hotel and the staff! They upgraded our rooms to suites without us even asking. Various activities for kids. We enjoyed the stay tremendously and wished we had stayed there longer!
This was my second stay at the hotel, and I’m glad to see the property has been very well maintained since my last visit seven years ago. The wooden furnishings in the room feel timeless and continue to hold up beautifully. My only complaint is the poor water drainage in the shower. It wasn’t fixed yesterday, so I’ll check again tomorrow morning to see if the issue has been fully resolved. One of the highlights of the property is the lush greenery. I especially loved the abundance of trees, including several Japanese maple trees, which add a serene and elegant touch to the surroundings. The Lakeside Café offers a stunning full view of Yulong Snow Mountain if you’re seated by the window—definitely the best tables in the house. The Chinese restaurant serves solid, well-executed dishes. I would recommend asking for less oil when ordering. We dined there twice, and everything was flavorful. In particular, we ordered the steamed chicken in a clay pot both nights—the soup was rich, intensely chicken-flavored, and very comforting.

We stayed at the Jinmao Purelax Hotel in Lijiang for two nights in January 2026 for holiday vacation. The property is exceptionally beautiful, showcasing the elegance of traditional Chinese garden design. The overall atmosphere is calm and serene, complemented by a simple yet refined neo-classical aesthetic that creates a sense of quiet luxury. The staff were consistently warm and professional. We arrived earlier than the standard check-in time, and the front desk associate, Kathy, kindly assisted us with an early check-in and also offered complimentary breakfast, which was greatly appreciated. We also enjoyed the breathtaking nature view of the Yulong snow mountain from the hotel. In addition there are many free activities for kids, such as feeding animals, which made the stay especially memorable for families. Overall, it was a graceful and memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to travelers seeking comfort, tranquility, and classical Chinese style hotels.
