This relatively new hotel has cool design elements and great location, right beside Tianfu Square. I loved the shower and high-tech toilet bowl, while the toiletries were of good quality. Staff we encountered were also quite attentive.
On the flip side, I don't know why much of the hotel was rather stuffy. I'm also not a fan of hotels that require switching elevators because they're in mixed-use buildings. In the room, things that can improve were the dead fridge, the flat pillows, the user-unfriendly tap and the lousy toilet paper.
Overall, at this price point, this is a top choice.
Sleek, well-located, and genuinely comfortable
Canopy by Hilton Chengdu City Center is a solid choice in a city that doesn't lack for hotel options. The rooms are well-designed — modern without feeling sterile — and the bed quality is noticeably above average. Good soundproofing too, which matters in a busy urban location.
Breakfast spread is decent and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. The location puts you within easy reach of Chengdu's main attractions and dining strips, which makes logistics simple.
Nothing flashy, but everything works well. Would stay again without hesitation.

We stayed here for 4 nights. This hotel is very big and has lots of places for you to take pictures. It was voted best Instagramable hotel in 2025. One thing to note is we are not allowed to eat at the lobby. We asked. The breakfast area was not crowded for the past few mornings. There is a wide spread of food. The tea leaf eggs are good. There are pancakes with different fillings. Sweet and nice. You can also cast your phone on the TV but Netflix, FB and YouTube cannot be shown as you have to use their Wifi. Overall it was a very great experience 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Perfect hotel and location for exploring Chengdu! The 2 queen bed room is perfect for a family of 4. Staff was very helpful - we had to leave early 1 morning for a trip to Panda Valley and since we didnt have time for breakfast, staff gave us 2 takeaway coffee cups and a bag for some pastries!
The hotel rooms are thoughtful, comfortable and clean. We actually really liked staying here except for one thing that made it unbearable. We also read reviews that shared similar experiences.
Their air conditioner seems to be controlled by the building and not per room. As I’m writing this review the room temp is 26.5 degrees celsius while it has been set to 18 degrees and it’s been left running for over an hour.
It’s painful to have to sleep in these temperatures, and when we discussed with the staff their solution was to set up a fan in our room.
While they did offer us to switch rooms, and we considered it, they had a technician look at the air conditioner yesterday who said it was fine, tinkered with the settings and said it was the same in all rooms. The room they offered us was also a downgrade
While we really wanted to like the hotel this issue alone and how it was dealt with from the hotel drops it from a 5/5 to a 2/5
