We were welcomed into Wissal’s home so warmly, we knew it was going to be a special evening. She was expert at teaching us about Moroccan spices, hands on cooking techniques and traditional dishes. We enjoyed fresh mint tea, spiced Moroccan coffee and a fantastic spread of beautifully made desserts. Ten out of ten for all aspects of the evening. Many thanks, Wissal (and Mom)

Wissal is a wonderfull hostess and taugt us to make the most delicious Marroccan meal. We had the best time and were sad when it was time to leave. Thank you Wissal for an evening we will never forget. I also loved to dess up in Marroccan traditional clothing.
This was the best cooking experience I've had with Viator. Our chef/hostess, Wissal, was incredible. She helped us prepare incredible food in a welcoming environment. More important, she gave us a view into life in Morocco, helped us understand her religion a little better and welcomed us with open arms into her home. She even arranged a ride to and from her home with a reliable driver to make the entire evening a breeze to plan. Finally, we got to try on some of the lovely clothes to feel the part of a Moroccan. LOVED IT!
This experience was one of my first real interactions with the beautiful people of Morocco. I have now been in Morocco for a month traveling and experiencing its amazing culture. That being said this cooking class with Wissal was by far one of my favorite and most memorable moments. Wissal made me feel right at home and walked us through multiple different local recipes and even sent us over instructions so we could make it at home. I love that at no point it felt rushed and we got to know one another and exchange stories. I also really appreciate how open she was and how comfortable she made everyone feel! Plus getting to eat our creation was amazing!
What a perfect way to start our trip in Morocco. Wissal arranged for out taxi pick up from our hotel and she welcomed us into her home and we felt like long lost friend's. We cooked, laughed and shared stories. The highlight was getting to eat our freshly cooked dishes in a beautiful eating area. We felt very special. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. I will be making some of the recipes at home this weekend :)
Great cooking and cultural visit experience. Wissel was very well organised. Food we prepared together was fantastic . Great insight into every day life in Morocco.
A very friendly and inviting atmosphere to learn/create tradional Moroccan flavours, whilst sharing knowledge of our home country/culture and recieving insights into Moroccan culture and country. The advice of "skip breakfast, come hungry" was well founded, with a excellent spead of food. The best lunch we have had in Morocco. Wissal is a fantastic host and when in Casablanca this is an experience not to miss.
This was a wonderful experience with a lovely intelligent young lady, who is very passionate about her culture and food. She shared information which I found very interesting. And the food was delicious! I can’t wait to try some at home. Thank you Wissal!!
Wissal provided us with a most wonderful experience in her Muslim home. We met her family and enjoyed learning more about the customs of Morocco, the food, the clothing and faith. We learned to make spiced coffee, mint tea, chicken tagine, 2 salads an mocktail and so much more. The best part was simply the wonderful conversation, laughs and getting to know Wissal throughout the evening. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. It is an honour to be invited into someone’s home and we hope we showed respect and modesty to the family as well.
This was our first experience when we arrived in Morocco and it was a wonderful way to start the trip. We had the opportunity to be in a private home, to meet the mother and daughter, and to try on traditional Moroccan clothing. In addition to cooking, there was wonderful conversation. The host, Wissel, was very open to answering our questions and really prepared us for our upcoming tour of the country. It was also our first experience with Moroccan food and we got to make both chicken and lamb tagine and it was our first introduction to the ritual of drinking Moroccan green mint tea. There were three of us and our experience was strengthened by the presence of an Indian couple, residents of Paris, who were on their honeymoon.
If you are a foodie, this is a must do experience. Book this right now! Wissal the host is amazing. We learn to make the most delicious Morocco meal. It is a very hands on experience and the host is delightful. Of all the things we did in Morocco this ranked near the top. Experience the warmth, hospitality and food the Moroccans are known for. You won’t be disappointed.
We had such a lovely evening with Wissal! We cooked and feasted on great food, learned all about Moroccan spices and most importantly learned so much about the Moroccan culture even dressing in local style clothing. Wissal is a wonderful host who shared so much about life for young women in Morroco. Even though we could have been her grandparents we connected with her. There were no language barriers as she spoke fluent English and she was also interested in our backgrounds. Ten out of ten for us!
If you do just one unique thing when visiting Morocco, this is the thing to do! Wissal is such an impressive young lady, and her cooking class is amazing! She welcomes you into her home and her life, personalizes the menu to match your preferences, and guides you through each step of the cooking process. Spending time talking with her about her culture, customs, cooking, and more, is just as much part of the experience as the cooking itself. And the food was delicious! It was just my husband, me, and Wissal. We felt as though we were at a friend's house, helping make dinner. This is a great event for a couple, or a few friends. If you want a personal, unique, fun, and delicious memory of Morocco, this is the activity to do!
The experience was perfect and it far exceeded our expectations. It was a well thought out interactive cultural experience. Unlike other cooking classes where everyone prepares their own dish, we all did our part in making a delicious MEAL. Would do it again!
A thoroughly enjoyable evening with Wissal in her beautifully decorated Moroccan home. For starters, we enjoyed Moroccan coffee. She instructed us on preparing her mother’s tagine recipe. We took a break while the tagine cooked and enjoyed mint tea and cookies. We also prepared 2 salads and virgin Mojitos, All were delicious. We had great fun dressing up like a local. The best part was sharing stories about each others’ lives and cultures. Wissal was a lovely, congenial hostess. Highly recommend.
We had such a wonderful experience on this tour! Wissal was an incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional host. From the moment we arrived at her beautiful home, we were greeted with open arms and made to feel completely at home. The cooking experience was wonderful and very approachable. The recipes were easy to follow, and we had the opportunity to make a traditional Moroccan tanjia. We also enjoyed delicious Moroccan tea and coffee, which made the experience feel even more authentic and special. What we loved most was the warm, personal atmosphere. It felt like we were being welcomed into a friend’s home rather than simply attending a tour. Wissal was so kind and made the entire experience enjoyable for everyone. We would highly recommend this tour to families looking for an authentic, welcoming, and memorable Moroccan experience. It was a highlight of our trip!
An absolutely wonderful cooking experience! What made it truly special was how personalized and welcoming it felt from start to finish. It was much more than just a cooking class—it was a genuine introduction to Moroccan culture, traditions, and hospitality. We learned about the ingredients, techniques, and stories behind the food, while enjoying a warm and authentic cultural experience. The personal attention made the experience feel unique and memorable. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Moroccan culture and cuisine!
Wissal was an amazing and very friendly host! She was a great instructor who made the cooking process easy and fun. I went with a friend who was visually impaired and she was incredibly accommodating to our accessible needs. We learned a lot about Casablanca, as well as Moroccan culture and history in general. We made tagine and mrouzia. The food was fantastic and these were the two best dishes we had in our stay at Casablanca. Wissal also arranged for transport from our hotel to the class which made the process very convenient. We didn't know what to expect when walking into the class but it turned out to be a highlight of our trip. I could not recommend Wissal's class more highly! If you're going to Casablanca, you must take Wissal's class!
I had an incredible experience with Wissal and her family! She made me feel very comfortable and welcome in her home. She taught me how to prepare the traditional dishes and drinks which were surprisingly simple but packed with delicious flavor. I can’t wait to make them for my friends at home. The best part was the insightful conversation where we learned about each other’s culture and lifestyles living in different countries. I would definitely recommend to visitors and groups, especially for women travelers.
The whole experience was absolutely fantastic. I had an accident a few hours before the class and our guide was so kind she made arrangements for a taxi to pick us up and drop us off. She even accommodated the class time due to the accident. The class was very thorough, we learned about the spices used for the dishes, how the chicken is cleaned, etc. My son is vegetarian, so the guide adapted the tagine to make it fully vegetarian. We learned about their the way coffee is spiced up in each home and learned more about the traditional tea. Her mom had baked some amazing treats for us to try with the coffee and tea. The whole experience is great as you learn so much more than just cooking. It is a great cultural experience, highly recommended.
She was super welcoming, we started with a coffee that only get served on special occasions. I normally dislike coffee but this one was tasty even for me. It felt more like a tea than a coffee! Then we started on making the food, she explained everything and guides you through the steps very well. You also get to make the mint tea and we even made a non alcoholic mojito which were both delicious. We talked about all kinds of things during the experience and you really get to know how people in Morocco live. I've done other courses too in other countries but this was easily the best experience i've had so far. Would strongly recommend for anyone going to Casablanca!!
The Moroccan cooking experience with Wissel was nothing short of amazing! She and her family were very inviting and the food and the experience was amazing. We enjoyed everything from the pickup and drop off at our hotel to the clean and inviting home. Her instructions were easy to follow and she uses only the best spices for her dishes. We enjoyed both the cooking and dining experience. She speaks very good English as well. It was the highlight of our trip. Would definitely recommend!
This was an amazing experience. Not only being invited into a typical Moroccan home but to learn to make the Moroccan dishes was so wonderful. We were able to help prepare the dishes and they tasted amazing. Recipes were given to us to try and recreate the food and drinks at home. This was incredible. I would recommend highly recommend Wissal.
Our experience with Wissal was absolutely amazing! She is the sweetest host and quickly became a new friend! We made wonderful food, tried on traditional dresses from her and her family, and enjoyed a meal while we talked and laughed. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve had.
Wissal was a wonderful and welcoming host and her class was amazing! She is so kind and let us ask questions about Morocco and her culture. Her mom helped as well and was really sweet. The food we made was DELICIOUS and ended up being the best meal we had our entire trip! HIGHLY recommend!
Wissal was an incredibly kind, generous and informative host. She shared stories and information about Moroccan culture while also teaching us how to make some wonderful dishes. It was one of my favorite nights of our trip and I would definitely do it again! :)
Wissal and her cooking class were INCREDIBLE! She made us feel right at home in her house and she was so kind and welcoming. This is a MUST in Casablanca!!
This is my second cooking class with Wissal and it was just as amazing as the first!! Wissal is so welcoming allowing us to experience her class in her own home and answering all of our questions about her life and culture. She did an amazing job making sure each person in our group had a role in the cooking. The food was incredible!!! Also getting to try on traditional dresses was so special. I highly recommend doing this class if you are visiting Casablanca, you will not regret it!!
We expected a cooking class. We got an intense introduction to life in Morocco. Yes, we made tagine, both chicken and lamb, in a normal kitchen with normal tools. But that's the sidebar. Wissal, our host, welcomed us warmly. The apartment, her sister's, was just beautiful. We started with Moroccan spiced coffee, which we had to analyze for ingredients. Then began the prep and cooking. Wissal is a good teacher, explaining the why as well as the how. The tagines take over an hour to cook, and during this time we graduated to tea. We were honored with homemade cookies and bread, handmade by Nonna. Wissal had provided a number of elaborate caftans and djellabas for the ladies. The results were astonishing! We men had plain garb, appropriately. Yes, lunch turned out wonderfully. Tagine, salads, mojitos, all good! But this was accompanied by the intensity of the experience. Wissal had previously changed our time from 5pm to noon because "something had come up". That something was her sister's having delivered twins. The family had gathered to help, and the entire family welcomed us. Our companions in the class were an American couple from California, she Jewish and Moroccan, and he Egyptian and Muslim. The conversation was like drinking from a fire hose. Mrs. Dr. Companion examined the twins and eased New Mom's worries. There aren't enough words to describe these few hours. This was the highlight of our entire trip.
Best cooking experience! Wissal and her family were so kind and welcoming. We loved being able to cook traditional Moroccan dishes and learn about their culture. Some of the best food we had our entire trip. HIGHLY reccomend!
One of my favorite travel days of all time. Best activity ever. We were able to spend an afternoon in the beautiful home of absolutely lovely people. There were no awkward moments the day went splendidly and we learned SO MUCH! I left feeling very confident I could make Moroccan dishes at home. I also have so much more knowledge and appreciation for Moroccan culture. Excellent! 10/10! Pro tip: Let them arrange transportation because it is out of the tourist area and so having them talk to taxi driver and negotiate price made it very easy!!
If there are any must do’s in Casablanca to fully embrace the culture & city besides the obvious ; it is a fantastic hands on fun experience of preparing, cooking and enjoying an authentic Moroccan meal in the home of the gracious Wissal and meeting her family. She is a wonderful host, and guide as you help decide the menu , do the prep work with fresh ingredients and spices in an apron, and then sit back and enjoy spice coffee, mint tea and pastries as you chat in authentic moroccan attire if you wish -for both men and women. The conversation is lively, the foods were tasty and different from figuring out the 5 spices in the coffee, to honey on rolled pancakes as you sipped a virgin mojito….. just a really fun way to spend an evening in a fascinating city with warm , educated people …. Don’t miss a chance to do this if you can !!
This was a truly memorable experience. Wissal was the epitome of Moroccan hospitality making us feel so welcome. Even before the event she contacted us to make sure we knew how to get to the meeting place and asking if there were any particular dishes we would like to learn how to prepare. She is currently staying with her sister who is expecting twins imminently so the class took place there. We were welcomed by the various family members on arrival and had special coffee whilst we chatted and got to know a bit about each other, then started preparing the tagine. We then learned how to prepare mint tea, then enjoyed that with some Msamen and cookies. Back to the kitchen again to prepare a delicious salad and mocktail, checking on the progress of the tagine which by this time was looking and smelling delicious.. Prunes and apricots were prepared with cinnamon and orange blossom sugar syrup respectively and then the feast began. The food was amazing- so much better than we had experienced in local restaurants. All too soon it was time to leave, but the memories will stay with us as a perfect reminder of a wonderful evening. We look forward to receiving the book of recipes so that we can try to replicate at home. Wissal made sure that we knew exactly where to head for the tram and solicitously sent us a text to make sure we had got back to our hotel safely. I would unreservedly recommend this experience to anyone and we have already forwarded some photos of the evening to friends and family. Well done Wissal and thank you.
Amazing host who made us feel welcomed into her home. She shared a lot about Morocco and culture. Delicious food. Fun presentation. Highly recommend this experience
We had a memorable evening at Wissal’s family home participating in cooking a delicious Moroccan meal. I learned a lot and had so much fun! The whole family made us feel so welcome. I can’t wait to try cooking with her recipes when I get back home. Highly recommended!
Our communication with Wissal from the very beginning via WhatsApp was seamless. We came into Casablanca for one day on a cruise ship. She arranged for a taxi between the shuttle bus drop-off point and her family’s home. Additionally, she easily accommodated a vegetarian diet. Wissal and her mom put together an outstanding experience to showcase their Moroccan culture and cuisine. We started with spiced coffee, then onto mint tea and homemade sweets, before sitting down to the huge lunch of chicken tagine, vegetable tagine, soup, and salad that everyone in the group helped to prepare. We ended our visit with trying on Moroccan formal wear and taking photos. We can honestly say it was an experience we will never forget. We felt so welcomed and would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking to support a local family business.
This whole experience was amazing! The food, drinks, and company were outstanding. Everyone was so welcoming and we felt very comfortable. We loved trying on the traditional Moroccan clothing while our food was cooking. Totally recommend 10/10.
We had an amazing time at this cooking class. The hostess was very warm and welcoming. We learned a lot about Moroccan culture, cuisine, and people. As a group of young girls traveling to Africa for the first time, my friends and I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend this experience, it was the highlight of our time in Casablanca!
The food was delicious and the experience was fun. We made chicken pastillas and meatball tagine. I especially enjoyed eating with her family in their home.
Wissal was very knowledgeable nice to talk to. My group and I really enjoyed learning about how to cook traditional Moroccan food. The food was excellent and the cookies and tea we had while the food we were making was cooking was delicious. We spent a few hours in her warm and inviting family home. Overall we had a great experience and definitely recommend to anyone looking to take a cooking class in Casablanca.
Our cooking experience with Wissal in her lovely home was a wonderful start to our Moroccan trip. She was prepared and organized, and her instruction was thorough. We learned about Moroccan cooking techniques, spices, and beverages (the coffee spices were a delicious surprise ). We enjoyed talking with Wissal throughout. While our dinner cooked, we continued our conversation and learned a lot about Moroccan food, customs, clothing, and culture. I appreciated Wissal contacting me prior to our appointment to confirm food allergies and to offer to arrange a taxi pickup (I recommend taking her up on the taxi offer). Our food was as delicious as Wissal's hospitality was generous. I truly didn't want the evening to end. It is one of my fondest memories from our 3 weeks in the country.
The day before our cooking class, our adventure began with an inquiry about what we wanted to cook and whether we had any allergies. We immediately knew that this was going to be an evening where we felt comfortable and well taken care of, and we were not mistaken. Wissal invited us into her home as if we had known each other for years. We began the visit with tea and conversation in the front room. Wissal introduced us to her mother, and shared a bit about herself and life in Morocco. We were then led to the kitchen where, with Wissal’s (and her mother’s) guidance, we sliced and diced vegetables, marinated meats, and made two delicious tagines — one with beef and one with chicken. Wissal then lead us through the process for making mint tea. As we waited for our tagines to cook, we retired to a family room and shared information about each other’s cultures. We drank the tea we made and Wissal treated us to cookies and sweets her mother had prepared for us earlier in the day. They were delicious. The conversation was free flowing and Wissal’s warmth and authenticity were delightful. Just before dinner we had fun trying on traditional clothing. We got great pictures and had more laughs. Then we sat down to a delicious meal of our tagines and other accompaniments. After a lovely evening, we headed back to our hotel in the taxi that Wissal had arranged for us. All together, we learned a lot, ate amazing food, had a lovely evening, and know that we have made a new friend.
We decided to go for cooking experience with Wissal the very first day in Marocco but we got much more then cooking and great dinner - interesting talk about everyday life in Marocco, history, family. Great atmosphere and real true and very hospital home! I don't talk about small but very nice surprises to keep it for future visitors but believe me - if you came to learn about this great country- it is the best start! Thank you Wissal🙏!
What a fantastic way to start our trip to Morocco .A grand way to awaken our senses with traditional tea and special coffee, trying on traditional colourful dress wear and stimulate our tastebuds in so many dimensions. It will be hard to eat at restaurants, and meet our expectations, the bar has been set so high. Can not wait to see the recipe book to try at home. Thank you so much for such a lovely afternoon, and bringing us into your family. Very special..
Good quality food and home made ingredients plus Wissa's guidance resulted in a real Morrocan feast. You will get your hands dirty (in the true sense of the word) preparing a very tasty tangine and couscous meal plus a salad and home made mojito (non alcoholic of course). Great experience for anyone interested in real local food and you get the recipes to top it all off and repeat at home (if you can find the spices and ingredients).
Wisal is a professional host. She managed the experience smoothly and made us feel welcomed. I love engaging in hands-on experiences when travelling so this was perfect for me. It was if I was spending a day with family or friends. There were two other German ladies so it was a multicultural experience. We tried on some Moroccan clothes and felt like princesses! The food was tasty and we left with some spices as a gift. I highly recommend this experience!
Wissal was amazing as she welcomed us into her home, during Ramadan, with a huge smile. We made a delicious tajin and some of the best spiced coffee we've ever had. Wissal was both friendly and professional as she was patient with us asking her all kinds of questions. She was very open about their way of life, their customs and how they celebrate Ramadan. It was excellent.
We had a great time learning how to cook Moroccan food. Our host was very open and informative on the process. She was very friendly and showed genuine kindness towards us. We would recommend this experience very highly.
Welcome experience. Bright workable kitchen and comfortable sitting areas. Preparation using tagines was a new experience. Good variety of menu and plenty of food for the three of us guests. We drink tea and ate pastries while the main meal cooked.
Wissal is the consummate hostess, cooking instructor and ambassador of Morocco. She arranged our transportation to her apartment for our Moroccan cooking class and made our first full day in Casablanca fun and memorable. We felt welcomed and engaged from the moment we slipped off our shoes to enter her beautifully appointed living room for a welcome cup of Moroccan coffee where she asked us to identify the 5 spices she had up used in the preparation. The 4 of us joined Wissal in the kitchen to prep the fresh ingredients for the Moroccan soup, salad, mint tea, and tagines we were going to prepare. She made sure we all participated - demonstrating each step we needed to do- while explaining every Moroccan family has their own blend / proportion of spices - their own family secrets. While our lunch was cooking- we enjoyed the traditional mint tea we made with an assortment of delicious / unique Moroccan cookies/ sweets her mom had made. Wissal explained that the rich heritage of Moroccan cooking is passed down from grandmothers to mothers to daughters. We enjoyed our delicious lunch while sharing stories with Wissal. Our cooking class was the perfect introduction to Morocco, its rich culture and friendly people.
