Chefchaouen was absolutely beautiful. The five and a half hour ride there was very long! Keep that in mind. I would make it an over night stay if I did it again. Our driver spoke very little English. The tour guide once there spoke more English so that was good. He was very knowledgeable about the town. Ate at Bilmos. Very good food! Had options for gluten free.

Our driver Omar arrived on time. Spoke English well, easy to understand. Long drive but didn’t feel that way. Omar shared info and answered our questions about things we saw. The Blue City did not disappoint. Our tour guide met us and led us around the town at times he was a little hard to understand. We spent about 3 hours there to include lunch on our own. So glad we took the long drive and saw it our last day in Casablanca. Long driver 14 hour trip in total.
It’s a lot of driving but it’s better than driving in the crazy traffic. Our driver was great! Our tour guide was great, too!
The van was very clean. We enjoyed the excursion. The tour guide around town was very friendly. We did wish we had a little more time to wander on our own but it’s understandable the time is limited with how long the drive to/from Casablanca is.
We didn’t got to go to that city because of the flooding. The travel agent should have known this situation since the flood happened around January 27 to 29th. But they didn’t want to cancel the trip so they still sent the car. The driver kept on driving even he found all the roads were blocked. We were on the road for 12 hours. It was horrible experience. We demand full refund of our payment!!
What a wonderful experience! Youssef was our driver and Abdul our tour guide. Both were excellent and highly recommend. Our driver was on time with a clean minivan for the 4 of us and drove very professionally. Abdul spent almost 5 hours with us and we never felt rushed. He knows his city so well, spoke English fluently, showed us a great spot for lunch, took great pictures and videos of us. Seeing the “Blue City” was so worthwhile even with the long 5 hour car ride back and forth from Casablanca. You will not be disappointed having them take you! I had requested both of them beforehand.
It was a wonderful trip, Chefchaouen is such a beautiful city. Our driver, Omar is an excellent driver, we felt safe and comfortable in this 10 hours of journey. He is also a honest guy. We accidentally left our stuff in his car, he returned it before we found his number. Abdula was our local guide In Chefchaouen. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. We learns not only local history but also Muslim history including their contributions to the world. We highly recommend this trip.
Great trip from Casablanca to Blue city. Our driver Issman picked us on time from our hotel, he is very professional, caring & sweet. He is a very good driver & made us feel so safe, especially on our way back to Casablanca, the weather was bad with heavy rain, 5.5 hours straight drive was not easy but he never lost his signature sweet smile. Our tour guide in Blue city Sallam is very knowledgeable & patient with us. 5 stars for both of them. Because of their excellent service, we had a wonderful & memorable trip!
If you’re looking for a stress-free and unforgettable way to explore Chefchaouen, the Blue City, I highly recommend booking the Full-Day Trip from Casablanca with Travelhaven’s Premium Private Driver & Airport Transfers service. From the moment I was picked up in Casablanca, I felt at ease knowing I was in good hands. The driver, el Fassi , was punctual, professional, and incredibly friendly, making the 5-hour drive to Chefchaouen smooth and enjoyable. The vehicle was comfortable and well-maintained, adding to the luxury experience. Upon arriving in Chefchaouen, I was immediately captivated by the city’s unique blue-painted buildings and winding streets. The driver gave me plenty of time to explore at my own pace, providing helpful tips and recommendations along the way. Having a private driver allowed me to truly soak in the beauty of the city without any stress or rush. The trip felt seamless and relaxing, and I was able to enjoy Chefchaouen’s charm without worrying about transportation. Whether you’re short on time or simply want a premium experience, this tour is the perfect option. Highly recommend this service for anyone visiting Casablanca and wanting to explore the Blue City in comfort!
The company who provides this tour is great, very good in communication and they have very comfortable transportation. It’s little bit long drive, but with comfortable vehicle and good amount of stops to stretch make it easy. The city is beautiful and absolutely worth driving there. Tour guide met us there and showed us all the beautiful places and very knowledgeable about the history.
The driver was great! However, our tour guide at Chefchaouen overslept (it was 11:30 am) and so we had to wait for him. Our guide was friendly enough, but not much to see in Chefchaouen other than blue paint everywhere. Its a pretty city, but not much to see or do. Go there if you have absolutely nothing else to do while at Morocco.
Our driver Ali picked us up on time at the hotel and we drove to the Blue city where we met our tour guide Elive. The tour guide walked with us through the blue city and explained the main things about it. We had lunch inside the blue city and the food was delicious. We had a great time.
This is a must tour and experience. Our driver was very helpful and allowed us to take breaks along the way going and coming back from Chefchaouen as its about a 3 hour drive each way. The city itself is absolutely amazing with lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, unique stores local to the city, and the views are remarkable.
The city is very interesting both in appearance and history. If you can get to the Blue City you should put it on your itinerary. As everywhere in Morocco the people are friendly, the city is clean and attractive.
So we were picked up on time by a well-dressed gentleman who spoke very very little English so have your translator ready. It took us about five hours to get there because you have to go through the small towns and they are very very slow. Make sure you ask your guide to stop at Toilets that are American toilets because some of the stops were very gross on our way there. Once we finally got to the blue city, we were met by a guide. His name was Bilal. He spoke so fast that we didn’t pick up hardly anything he said. But he was nice enough to take pictures for us. The tour is only an hour long. Then he , referred us to a restaurant where we had lunch for another hour. We checked all the way back to the hotel for another five hours. Was it worth it? Yes but I think it’s better if you jump on the high-speed train and go to Tangier and then go to the blue city from there. This was much too long of a ride! And for $500 plus I’m sure you could do it much cheaper
Our driver Ismail was exceptional, he made us feel safe with our 4 hour drive each way. He was very pleasant, and knowledgeable, he could have been our tour guide as well! We met our local tour guide, Abdul, and it was a wonderful experience. We are very pleased that we chose this tour, it was amazing!
Mourad the walking tour guide in Chefchaouen was amazing. He was informative, kind, funny and his hospitality was above and beyond. The driver from Casablanca to Chefchaouen was far from friendly, provided no cold water, limited air conditioning and did not communicate with us at all. Unfortunately all this was included in the price of the trip but not provided. We had to ask to stop for water and pay for it ourselves.
This was a great experience. I was collected by Ali and his daughter Zeneb and I would like to thank them for their kind hospitality. Ali is a very warm, caring man and I felt safe in his hands on the long journey. I really enjoyed my interaction with Zeneb who is a very intelligent young woman and very interesting to talk to. I loved learning about the differences in our cultures. The guide in Chefchaouen was also good and his knowledge of the city and history of Morocco was excellent. I have wanted to visit Chefchaouen for a very long time and I’m so glad to have experienced it with such lovely people.
Overall - worth it! If you have an extra day - you should 100% do it. The drive is long- but it doesn’t feel too bad. Very doable! The driver, Ismail, was the best! Made the time go by so quick there and back- and stopped for breaks for the bathroom or food whenever. He was so accommodating! He was full of information regarding Morocco, as he gave us information all along the drive regarding the countryside lifestyle. The guide at Chefchaouen was very nice as well. He was a little soft spoken- sometimes was difficult to hear! Also beware of the tourist traps while on your tour in the blue city- as your guide may try to persuade you to go into a rug shop, which will take up some of your limited time there! The people of the blue city are so kind- and it is as beautiful as the photos look!
Amazing driver (Mellak) and tour guide. Both made the experience seamless and ++++ enjoyable ! The 6 hour drive was seamless with Mellak and the tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, kind and a great photographer. I would definitely recommend this to any friends or family coming to Morocco.
The Blue City is interesting and the guide explained the reason. Getting there was a long trip but the second half of the journey was very scenic.
History of blue city. Our guide Abdul was extremely knowledgeable . He took his time explaining the various transition of generations from the time of Mohammed to now. He was also very patient and navigated a seamless walk thru the city without using the stairs. The design of the homes allowing the rooms to be cool in the day and warm at nights during the various weather was extremely fascinating. The residents were very courteous and warm . The blue color reminds me of the ocean. Loved it even though it was a long drive from Casablanca. I must also commend my driver (Nazib???) for his skills . Thank you for a safe journey.
My visit to Chefchaucen “the Blue City” was the absolute highlight of my Moroccan trip to Casablanca! Noureddine was my driver to the “Blue City” and he was such a gentleman with a great personality. I felt so completely safe, comfortable, and pleasantly happy on my private tour with him in the car that I asked to sit up front. This is a big deal coming from a solo female traveler. He was so attentive to making sure that I enjoyed the journey. For example, I expressed interest in wanting olive oil after seeing so many trees along the way, and he surprisingly stopped at a speciality store for me to get the best quality olive oil from the countryside. There was a different tour guide inside blue city. He is from the oldest family settled there, so he was extremely knowledgeable about the area. The people, the culture, the beautiful blue and white homes, the restaurants, the oranges, the scrumptious brick oven baked pastries, the delicious pil pil and tajine at riad hicham, the hospitality of Machkour rugs, and the journey there with the countryside views of mountains and rivers was all amazing! This is a tour that I have to repeat with my fiancé and mom… and the same driver, Noureddine.
Driver Abdul was great-wish he was our guide - but the actual guide _ Abdullah was terrible - made the 5 hour drive not worth it ; talked to his friends more than he talked to us and gave us no history or co text behind the beautiful city ; he just said take photo here or there - and made the day not worth it 3 stars - because driver was great - took care of family and our needs
I want to acknowledge Omar for his excellent driving skills, which made our 5-hour road trip very comfortable. Blue City is a great destination that is definitely worth visiting. Our local guide had a great knowledge of the area. However, I feel that the whole experience could have been even better if our guide had given us some free time to explore on our own instead of sending us back to our driver and hotel right after the tour.
I was initially hesitant about this trip due to the long periods on the road (approximately 5 hours each way). However, after the trip, my whole family loved it. It was the icing on the cake for our trip to Morocco. Our driver, Yossef, and local guide, Fouad were simply great. We had enough time to enjoy the sights, do some shopping, and even had a great lunch in Chefchouen. I’m greatly appreciate of our driver for accommodating us, especially during the Muslim fasting month, as we reached Casablanca close to 8 pm. I highly recommend this trip to anyone.
Lovely escursion, highly reccomended. A special thanks to our driver Youssef for the smooth ride and to Momo's great explanation of the city! The only down side, if I have to find one, is that we did not have time for lunch, but I suppose this is be cause of Ramadan. Aside from that, It is definitely worth it.
What an exceptional tour. There was quite a long drive to/from Chefchaouen however it was worth it! What a beautiful city. We were met on arrival by our tour guide Abdelghafour. Throughout the day he was informative and considerate. We started at the top of the city with splendid views across the valley seeing the blue city in all its beauty. The tour captured all of the key sites, the public ovens, fountains, Koranic school, a Hammam, city walls and even the best sites for instagramming. A great day made more special with Abdul as the guide. Highly recommended
The whole blue city was very beautiful and interesting. Your driver and guide were both very good and helpful. Guide had good knowledge about the city
Abdul our driving to and from was wonderful. We learned a lot from him and he was very nice and helpful!! Then our tour guide Abdul in the city was very informative and friendly. Both guides were great and I would highly recommended this tour!
Excellent experience. 5 hours drive one way totally worth it. Driver was very experienced and drove very carefully. Tour guide was also fantastic. 5 stars all through.
It was excellent experience and I very thankful to the driver and the tour guide mr. Mohammed in chefchaouen.
Although it was a long drive from Casablanca (5 hours), it was well worth it. Chefchaouen is a love city with a unique atmosphere. Lots of shopping and lovely eating spots. Definitely recommend. Our driver, Yousef, and local guide, Abdul, were lovely and we enjoyed spending time with them.
Our journey to the Blue City was a 5 hour plus journey. We were collected at our hotel. It was 7 of us so the vehicle was full. We stopped for coffee and something to eat as it was an early pick up at the hotel. Our driver was very accommodating. We stopped to take pics of the panoramic view of the city and were handed over to a local tour guide. He was local of the city and very knowlegable. Very willing to answer any questions. We learnt of the history of this beautiful city and the reason for it being painted blue. I did not enjoy my choice of meal and I personally found we wasted too much time at the lunch table. The tour guide should have put a time limit for us here. This would have afforded us more time to visit the city. Overall, it gave us what we wanted to see and learn of the Blue City. Would highly recommend if staying in Cassablanca as you cannot leave Morocco without visiting Chefchaouen. Thanks to our efficient tour guide and driver.
We had such an amazing trip thanks to Abdul! While making the drive, he was able to give us so much information on Morocco, and its culture. We took an amazing tour of the city, and had lunch. Then we made the drive back to Casablanca. Couldn’t recommend this trip anymore!
It was long drive from Casablanca but so worth the trip, the city was beautiful.the guide was informative.
There is a lot of travelling (5 hours each way) but it’s definitely worth it. Chefchaouen, the Blue City, is absolutely stunning. The people are so friendly, the old town is beautiful and we took some fabulous photos. Our driver was really great, it was a long day for him but he drove us so carefully and safely. Our guide in Chefchaouen, Abdelghafour Rahmouni, was superb too. He took us all around the old town, showed us a good place to eat, and we learned so much of the history of the area, Chefchaouen, Islam etc from him. I really recommend this trip. Although there is a lot of driving, the minibus was very comfortable and there were plenty of stops along the way for food, drinks and toilet breaks.
Abdul was our driver and very professional and kind. He is very informative and knowledgeable. We stopped for coffee on the way there and it was delicious. When we got to Chefchaouen, Omar was our guide and he was very sweet and taught us a lot about his city. We did a tour around and then ate some good food. Everyone was so kind and no one pressured us to buy anything. The only bad thing about the trip was the rain at the end. One of my favorite tours while being in Morocco. Definitely will be back!
Abdul our driver was so professional and kind. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we picked up 2 more day trippers. Our van was cozy and we set off for our 5 hour drive to Chefchaouen We stopped for a quick break for coffee after a couple hours then continued our drive passing though agricultural scenery to the Rif mountains where Chefchaouen sits. Once we arrived in the blue city we met Omar Our guide. We only had 4 hours in The blue city so Omar our guide explained the history and life in the blue city. He treated us to the best almond cookie ever. The city is so charming and lots of shops to explore. During the tour you pass by but can’t really go back because time runs out quick. I recommend skipping lunch and shop first so you have time to explore all the shops. Prices so much better than Marrakesh and Casablanca for souvenirs so if you wait to buy your stuff here make sure you skip sit down lunch and grab something to eat on the bus back. We had been in Morocco for a few days so we skipped the Aragan talk and if you already purchased rugs you can skip the rug shop. Great place for pics but time goes by fast when your there and have a guide. If you can spend one night or a few days here and skip the big cities. Lots of national parks near by and cooler temps.
Absolutely beautiful and worth the drive. Extremely safe city with very kind and gracious locals. Our guid Abdul was attentive, informative and very professional. He never tired to help with photos and showed us everything! Our driver Hamza was also very courteous and kind. He ensured our needs were met with patience and kindness. A wonderful tour with wonderful guides and driver. Truly my favorite part of Morocco!
The driver was great, funny, and very respectful. The city of Chefchaouen was also so beautiful and very worth the trip. However, the guide we had in Chefchaouen was not the best. He rushed through the city tour not really letting us stop for pictures along the way, telling us we would have free time after and that the best picture spots were coming. When in reality, he was bringing us to either paid picture places or the ones that had a big line / wait to take pictures at, when we could have easily stopped at one of the million other beautiful and empty spots we passed along the way. Then, we were given only 10 minutes of free time at the end, and were told we needed to remain in the square we were in. In fairness, the guide did need to manage a pretty mixed group, but overall we would have appreciated a bit more free time or freedom to stop along the way, etc.
This was a long journey; however, it was absolutely worth it. The drive was scenic giving us an insight into how people live outside of the major cities. We learned a lot from our guide, Abdol, who explained how Chefchaouen came to be the Blue City. They style of cooking is also delish. Well worth it
Was in Casablanca Morocco for a few days and really wanted to see Chefchaouen while I was here. This tour was a great option me. The driver picked us up promptly from our hotel. We drove for 5 hours to the Blue City and 5 hours back (with one stop going and one stop coming back for the restroom, snacks, etc.) ****Please note that driving in Morocco is pretty erratic (especially if you’re not used to it). For example, they drive really fast, tailgate, drive on the opposite side of the rode to cut each other off, etc. I think this is important to note if you’re someone who would be nervous in the car or gets carsick. You’re in the car for 10 hours of the tour**** Lastly, the driver stopped at a panoramic spot so we can take a nice photo of the city from afar. Once in the Blue City, we met out tour guide Abdul. He was very knowledgeable about the city. He brought us to a carpet shop, to some Instagram worthy spots for pictures, gift shops, and we stopped for lunch. I think we were in the Blue City for about 4 hours. It was a long day but was worth it for me since I only had a day to visit the city.
Long say but absolutely worth it. Amazing and safe driver with very comfortable vehicle. Necessary for the 10hrs spent in the car that day. Would do it again and spend the night there.
It was a great experience. The drive was smooth our driver was very quiet but also very pleasant and would ask if we were ok or needed anything/any breaks. Our driver(forgive me for forgetting his name- he’s young and from Marrakech) he was a kind soul and allowed us to stop for food on our way back! As for our guide Abdul, he was very pleasant and he was excellent at taking pictures. He was also very patient and kind. He also helped us find miscellaneous souvenirs. Very honest people, the trip was lovely!
Unbelievable beauty, great tour guide and driver. Very good explanation of the history and culture. Comfortable van. Great lunch place. All 💯
Visiting the whole city was a dream come true for me. Our guide Mr. Abdul Salam was fantastic, highly experienced and had great sense of humor.
One of my best memories of Morocco, from our awesome driver to our amazing guide to the blue city. Everything was so magical, thank you so much again!
We had a wonderful time on our trip. Thanks to our driver Sufian who was very professional and well experienced driver. He was kind and very helpful to us. Our tour guide whom i forgot his name was very knowledgeable. He is a guy wearing teeth braces ,grew up in the area.He knows what his doing. I highly recommend this trip.
I knew the drive was going to be long but the driver didn’t say a word to us for the first two hours of the drive except to tell me there was no wifi when I asked (even though it was advertised there would be wifi). Luckily there was a lovely bunch of people on the tour and we amused ourselves for the long drive. Once we arrived, our guide was lovely, knowledgeable, and patiently offered to take numerous photos of us all in this stunning place. Chefchaouen itself is absolutely beautiful and for that reason alone, I would recommend this tour.
