The Hassan II Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الحسن الثاني, French: Grande Mosquée Hassan II) is a mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. It is the largest functioning mosque in Africa and is the 14th largest in the world. Its minaret is the world's second tallest minaret at 210 metres (689 ft).
This perpetually busy square is surrounded by striking public buildings, such as the Wilaya and its clock tower and the Courts of Justice, resplendent with Moorish details, on one side, and the ubercontemporary Grand Théâtre de Casablanca on the other
The Hubous (Arabic: الحُبوس al-Hubous or حَي الأَحْباس Hay al-Aḥbās), or colloquially Habous, is one of the older neighborhoods of Casablanca, Morocco. Its development dates back to 1916, in the early stages of the French protectorate.
The Royal Palace of Casablanca is the main royal residence of the King of Morocco in Casablanca, Morocco. Located in the Hubous neighborhood, it was built in the 1920s on a design by the brothers Louis-Paul and Félix-Joseph Pertuzio, with garden landscaping by Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier.
After many years of Roman rule, a different Berber community moved to the area. The Berber kingdom was called Barghawata. Berbers lived close to Anfa again from around 740 AD, with the kingdom growing and gaining strength, eventually capturing the city in 1068 AD. Anfa was then under the control of the Almoravid dynasty. It continued life as a significant port, with the Marinids strengthening the port’s connections in the 14th century. As Anfa’s port became more important, the area started to attract pirates and other nefarious characters. The Portuguese subsequently destroyed the area in the late 1460s and later (in 1515) established a military fortress on the coast, opposite the port. The Portuguese originally called the surrounding area Casa Branca (White House)

Mr. Abdellatif is an engaging guide who knows his city. He took pains to explain not only the facts but the cultural and historical significance of the Hassan II Mosque and other major sights of Casablanca.
Abdellatif our guide was brilliant as he welcomed us to Hassan II Mosque in pouring rain, outlined its history and cultural importance and showed us round the huge building. Kind and patient, Abdulletif also showed us the Arts Academy and waited while we made several purchases. I can fully recommend Casablanca City Private Tour
The tour in Casablanca was great and informative. We enjoyed the experience inside Hassan II mosque. Thanks abdelattit for your time
We had a great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. He took great care of us and we would highly recommend him for anyone wanting a private tour guide who realy knows a lot of history about morocco.
Abdel was very knowledgeable and a good story teller. We visited the Hassan II Mosque (which is impressive and a must-see! And Abdel made a lot of comparisons between religions, drawing parallels, showing where Jewish artisans worked on the building alongside Muslims and Christians) in addition to Synagogue, Jewish Museum and other sites. On our request (not included in price of the tour), he took us to a lunch place which was one of the best meals of our trip. Even though tour is based in Casablanca, he was able to make arrangements for us to go from Rabat and everything went smoothly.
Abdellatif was a great tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We really enjoyed our time with him and he provided a great lunch suggestion. We would recommend for anyone to use him as a guide.
Mr Ababa, provided an interesting and detailed tour around Casablanca. He explained the history of the city and brought me to the significant sights during this half day tour. He met me at hotel and dropped me back. I would highly recommend for a good overall picture of the city.
We did a full day tour of Casablanca with Mr. Abdellatif. We went to the Hassan II mosque, the Mellah, and multiple Jewish sites. Mr. A was very knowledgeable. We learned about the Amazigh and the ancient Jewish community, as well as the strategic importance of Morocco’s location vis a vis the ancient trade routes/spice routes. He made reservations at an authentic restaurant ( Dar Dada) taking in to consideration that we are vegetarians. We had a wonderful time and we would travel with him again.
We had a fantastic morning guided around in Casablanca by Abdellatif. He had a lot of interesting stories and facts about the city and the places we visited. Our tour was in English and he managed to convey all the information in an easy to understand and interesting fashion. Even though we had a lot of places to cover we never felt rushed or hurried and Abdellatif always found time to answer our questions. We would highly recommend Abdellatif for a tour around Casablanca.
Enjoyed the experience guide was knowledgeable and informative. Needs to pay attention to all his customers as we are all equal
Abdellatif was SO wonderful, personable, and knowledgeable. Our tour began with a 3KM walk through the city where he imparted history, anecdotes and facts as we walked and took in the sights and culture. We were so grateful to have him as our tour guide. With an undergraduate and master’s degree, he is an amazing guide. He went out of his way to take us around the city and show us Casablanca at its best. We highly recommend his expert guiding!
Wonderful tour! Our guide Abdel Latif was extremely knowledgeable, approachable and friendly! Trip was well planned and organized with time for shopping and photo shoots around our tour stops. Would recommend for first time visitors!
Very thorough and educational tour. Our guide had excellent knowledge of the locations and Moroccan history and culture.
Excellently organised tours and golf. They showed flexibility to meet our add on requirements. I recommend engaging this company for any tour : golf or sightseeing.

This was an excellent experience. Abdelatif was an excellent tour guide impeccable English, and very thoughtful. He stayed with us through the entire tour, which was very well organized and hit all of the highlights of robot. He explained many things to us and even purchase cookies and mint tea for us at the Kasbah. I highly recommend this tour.
We spent a lovely morning with our guide Abderrahmane. He was welcoming l, gracious and informative. He took us to many interesting places! It was great experience.
This was a very good tour that hit the highlights of Casablanca. The focus was on the Hasan II mosque, which is an amazing building —but you really need a guide to explain everything to you. Abdel was a first-class guide — very knowledgeable and helpful.
Abdellatif was excellent and took our family of four around Morocco. He was flexible and helped make sure all needs were met as well as maximizing the great sites!!! We had to make some changes last minute and he was very accommodating. Making sure we got to do and see the best of Morocco!
Our tour guide was informative and educational and very friendly. He was able to explain things in a way we could understand and answer all questions.
Great tour highlighting the sites of Casablanca. Abdel gave us lots of information and we loved the Hassan II mosque and the medinas. Thanks for a great tour!
Abdellatif was a knowledgeable, flexible, and engaging tour guide. He created an efficient and fun itinerary for us and gave detailed and informed answers to all of our questions. We highly recommend him for any guided tour of Casablanca.
An amazing way to see the highlights of beautiful Casablanca in a short period of time. Our guide, Abdelatiff, was professional and knowledgeable, yet kind and hospitable. Highly recommended tour.
We visited so many places like the Hassan II Mosque built at the edge of Atlantic Ocean. The views were beautiful. The guide also is very interactive and speak English fluently.
We had a wonderful tour of Casablanca, and particularly of the beautiful Hassan II mosque with a great guide Abdel 🙏🏽👍🏽 Abdel gave us the cultural backdrop and pointed out to us the many marvelous and intricate architectural details. I think without his help, and his willingness and passion to highlight to us the various different aspects at the mosque, we might have missed much! I also appreciate it very much, that he took great care of my sister and her needs, as she has a slight handicap, and the mosque is a very huge monument to negotiate. Thank you Abdel!
Our guide Abdel met us at the dock on time and showed us the largest Mosque in Morocco prior to taking us to Rabat. The historic sites were educational and Abdel did a great job of explaining the history. We made a few stops which included an authentic Moroccan restaurant. The food was amazing and service was excellent. Our teens and we had a wonderful time exploring Rabat and Casablanca!
Abel is a great guide, very knowledgeable of both Islamic and Hebraic history in the area. He took us to numerous locations in Casablanca and other coastal towns for a variety of experiences.
Abdell was a wonderful host and tour guide. We only had 1 day in port in Casablanca and had decided to go to Rabat. Abdell made sure we saw a couple of ‘must sees’ in Casablanca before heading out to Rabat. We saw the highlights as well as learning the history of the area. I would highly recommend him as your guide when in Morocco….
We were lucky enough to have had Abdel on our Jewish Heritage Tour in Casablanca. He was able to navigate us carefully through the Old Jewish Quarter safely. His knowledge was unbelievable ( thought , could he be Jewish because he knew Hebrew). Learned so many facts that we never would have known. Abdel was the perfect guide!!
Abdel was a very good tour guide. He got us through the queues at Hasan II Mosque very quickly and provided good insights into the history of Casablanca as we toured the city. We toured around in a comfortable minivan, and even though we had a short amount of time in Casablanca (roughly 7 hours) as we were doing a day trip from Marrakech, we managed to cover a lot of the sites. I highly recommend Abdel as a tour guide.
Abdell was an excellent guide for our city tour of Casablanca. He has a vast knowledge of the city and its history, architecture, religion, and culture, and took us to many of its most significant and historic sites. He also not only had excellent English language skills, but could engage in complex geopolitical discussions as well. And English was only one of his many languages. Hebrew is a specialty of his, for example, and we imagine he would be an excellent guide for Hebrew-speaking visitors to Casablanca, as he knows well the city’s current and historical Jewish sites. A day touring Casablanca with Abdell is a day well-spent.
We were so lucky to have abdellatif as our guide explained every details about the Hassan 2 Mosque and surroundings. We visited tainted glass church as well.
Had an unforgettable experience exploring Casablanca with our fantastic tour guide, Abdullatif! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the city’s rich history come to life. From the stunning Hassan II Mosque to the vibrant Corniche and hidden local gems, every stop was well-planned and insightful. He also introduced us to delicious Moroccan cuisine, making the tour even more special. If you want a smooth, engaging, and authentic Casablanca experience, I highly recommend booking a tour with Abdullatif!
Our guide was very knowledgable and informative. He took us to sites most people on tours don't get to experience. Mr. Abdellatif was able to answer our questions, was english speaking and we had a great tour because of him . I thoroughly recommend him and the private tour, don't miss an enjoyable experience. John Palmer.
If you're short on time, this private tour is ideal. We managed to see a lot in just a few hours, and our guide made sure we felt comfortable throughout."
We saw so much and learned so much in three hours! Our guide, Abdellatif, was very informative and also treated us to some local sweet treats and mint tea. It was a great way to start our time in Morocco!
Went with Abdellatif, who provided a professional and comprehensive guided tour to King Hasan 2 Masjid. Great experience overall
Abdellatif was excellent. We saw the King Hassan II mosque and then 2 synagogues, the Jewish museum and cemetery, We went into the market and had a lovely seaside lunch. His knowledge was OUTSTANDING and he was able to share the important facts with us. I highly recommend him and his tour
We had a great experience! The half day tour was packed with excellent and informative information plus got to visit fascinating neighborhoods
Our tour guide Abdel was really good and knowledgeable. He was patient and did his best to show all popular sites in Casablanca. His knowledge of Hasan II Mosque was really good. Highly recommended.
Abdellatif Was an excellent tour guide. He was friendly & informative. He showed us the highlights of this exotic city & shared its history & culture. He even showed us how to pour the tea! Thank you Abdel. 🌅
I thoroughly enjoyed my Casablanca city tour. My guide was fun and informative; explaining the many cultural influences to the city. I saw areas of the city that I never would have found on my own. Thank you for the introduction to Casablanca and Moroccan life and history.
Great experience all around, highly recommend. My husband, myself and my mother-in-law who is 80 years young attended.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. We got so much information on Casablanca as well as Morocco. He shared the history of Morocco from colonization to current day and explained how Jews were part of the community. The Hassan II Mosque is a must see. The materials were sourced from Morocco and is a great showcase of Moroccan craftsmanship. I highly recommend this tour.
We made a great friend in Casablanca on our private tour! Abdel was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and gracious. His knowledge of the history of Casablanca was vast. We learned so much about the people and history of Casablanca. The tour and pace he presented was perfect for us. Not only did we see the mosques, churches, palaces, and markets but we also saw beautiful parks and how the locals live in the old and new city. He also took time to show us the restaurant for our evening tour. He talked to the owner/manager of the restaurant for us and made sure we knew where to go and how to get back to our ship. Provided water and mint tea to go with our delicious sweets we bought on the tour. He also secured transportation between some of the sites. Truly a 5 star tour and guide! You will not be disappointed.
A great tour and guide, showing the beautiful city of Casablanca. Abdel was very informative and made the tour so enjoyable. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the city!
If you love history, this is your tour! Abdellatif is super knowledgeable and took us on an awesome tour through Casablanca! Highly recommend!
A lovely tour by an experienced and kind tour guide. We’ve seen so much in Casablanca that we wouldn’t have seen without this tour. I’d definitely recommend this tour if you’d like to see as much as possible of the city!
We had a great day on our Casablanca walking tour. Our guide was very informative, very helpful and very patient with us. He didn’t hesitate answering our sometimes dumb questions. I’d highly recommend taking this walking tour, especially if you value an authentic and local experience. We stopped for delicious mint tea and Moroccan pastries at a local cafe, and also got driven to a few further away sights.
