Casablanca Highlights: Medina, Habous & Rick’s Café Photo Stop

Our guide was really knowledgeable and took time to explain and answer all our questions. Part of the tour was a private taxi who was also helpful and we felt safe leavj g bags in the car while we walked around, stopped for tea and lunch and then dropped to our hotel. Remember tipping is part of the culture and notes are best. We had budgetted for this but make sure you have cash aa only big shops and restaurants take cards.

Abdul was a interesting, knowledgeable and personable guide into life in the Medina and its fascinating Habous community today as well as in the past. He was well prepared to answer our questions about Moroccan history, culture, government and society. We enjoyed our taste of almond cookies from Bennis Habous and mint tea at Cafe Imperial. It was wonderful to see glimpses of the royal palace, mansions of the rich in Anfa, and a spectacular view of the mosque on the Atlantic ocean. We learned so much and would highly recommend Abdul and this tour!

Overall, it was a decent tour and a good way to learn more about Casablanca. I was a little disappointed that Rick’s Café was closed, as I was looking forward to seeing it. We also got to visit the Old Medina, which was interesting, but I wish we had been given at least 15 minutes to walk around and shop on our own. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the breakfast donuts, and our guide was kind enough to let us stop for coffee. Most importantly, I learned a lot about the history and culture of Casablanca, which made the tour worthwhile overall.

Our guide Mohamed and driver Zacheria were wonderful...Mohamed shared such interesting information with us...Zachariah was polite and a good driver!

This was a great tour, largely thanks to our guide Mohammed, who was knowledgeable, patient and helpful. There were five of us on the tour, including my wife and me, which is small enough that we got to know each other and had plenty of time to exchange stories. At five hours from start to finish it was excellent value for money. Neither was it too strenuous, being a mix of walking and driving between locations. We particularly enjoyed the pastry shop. Purchase is optional, but we would recommend you buy some. All of us arrived in Casablanca yesterday, so the visit to the rug store was too soon. The quality was good, but none of us could say if the prices were reasonable. In any case, this is the kind of purchase few would make on the spot spur of the moment.

We loved this tour of Casablanca with our guide Mohamed. It started with a leisurely walk through the old Medina with Mohamed filling us in on the history and pointing out features that we may otherwise have missed. He was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all our questions. We also visited the new Medina near the Royal Palace, family bakeries, cafe with mint tea, viewed Hassan II Mosque from across the bay and ended at a lovely restaurant for lunch. Highly recommended

Fun! We traveled all around the city, and was able to learn about history and day to daylife. Guide was very knowledgable. (The pastries and mint tea was amazing)

Muhammad was incredible! We had such a deep cultural exploration of the city by foot, and then by private car. We saw all of the sights and tasted delicious mint tea and cookies from the most famous bakery. We had beautiful pictures and memories because of them, and we are so grateful! Fantastic day exploring and learning about Morocco and Casablanca.

We had a lovely experience, shared with two other guests with whom we got on with very well. The tour was excellent and at a gentle pace which suited the party.Mohamed our guide was very knowledgeable and a good conversationalist. We covered quite a bit of the city which was enabled by a car and driver. Highly recommend this particular tour and guide. On Mohamed’s recommendation we all had lunch together.

I had a fantastic tour of Casablanca giving me a wonderful introduction to the city. It was a morning tour to many interesting sights and ended up in a lovely restaurant where we had lunch.

This is a great tour for those with limited time in Casablanca. I had a wonderful guide who took me through the Medina, and I had some firsthand insight into a lot of the history in Casablanca, which is fascinating to say the least. You really get to see alot of casablancas medina and old town on this tour and I loved the stop through the museum that gave insight into Casablanca's history.

Guide is very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions. Accommodated the entire group which was difficult due to rain.

I had an absolutely incredible experience with my Morocco tour guide. From the very beginning, he was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and attentive. Since I was the only guest that day, the tour felt completely personalized — he even became my personal photographer and made sure I captured beautiful memories along the way. He shared so much rich history about Morocco, the culture, and each place we visited, which made the experience deeply meaningful. He also helped me negotiate fair and honest prices while shopping for items to take back home, something I truly appreciated as a visitor. We made many wonderful stops along the way: from enjoying cappuccino, to breaking bread and sharing tea together. The Moroccan tea was phenomenal, and the lunch we had later was hands down one of the most delicious meals of my trip. Every stop felt thoughtful and unrushed, and I felt genuinely cared for the entire time. This tour exceeded my expectations in every way. I will absolutely be back and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone visiting Morocco.

This is a really great introduction to the culture and history of Casablanca. The guide is great as were all the people we met. I particularly enjoyed the walking component. The driving was necessary to cover distance between points of interest. I’ve got a better understanding of things I can do now in the rest of my stay. I’ll be going back for more of that lovely tea!
