What an incredible experience! If you’re visiting Morocco, I highly recommend taking a food tour with Achraf. From beginning to end, he made the experience unforgettable. He took us to the Fish Market. We enjoyed some amazing local dishes, including fresh sea bass, sardines, calamari, eggplant, and peppers. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Moroccan flavors. What made this tour even more special was Achraf’s knowledge of Moroccan history and culture. He didn’t just introduce us to great food; he shared fascinating stories and gave us a deeper appreciation for the country, its people, and its traditions. Achraf was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does. It felt more like exploring Morocco with a good friend than being on a guided tour. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco! Great food, great conversations, and an amazing cultural experience. If you’re looking for an authentic Moroccan food tour, Achraf is your guy. You won’t be disappointed! 10/10 — Highly recommended!

Achraf was very pleasant. The tour was very nice. Food spot was delicious, very flavorful. Love the vibe, the food, the scenery. You will love this tour. He communicates the day before to confirm the tour. If you love to eat, I would recommend this food tour. You will be very satisfied.
Ashraf a tourism representative is extremely knowledgeable and curated an exceptional food and culture private tour ~ excellent Moroccan sea food and desserts.
The guide, Achraf, was wonderful. He is very knowledgeable. So much delicious food, including an enormous seafood feast. Achraf sprinkled in some history as we walked from food to food. Great way to explore the city’s culture through food.
Achraf was our guide and could not have been more helpful, friendly or informative. He became an integral part of our first day in Casablanca and his choice of food/drinks etc were superb. Hightly recommended this experience.
Achraf was exciting from point of pick up to drop off Arrived on his motorbike then by foot led us for smoothie, boulongerie Choosing our own fish was a novelty and it was cooked excellently But be warned You willneed to be hungry to finish it He was up beat friendly and informative A lovely taste of Morrocco x
This guide Ashraf isa legend. He knows his stuff and communicates really well. A very relaxed time spent learning and listening. Ashraf answered our questions and took time to listen to us. Altogether good guy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently completed a 4-hour private food tour of Casablanca with Achraf, and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Casablanca. He worked for the Moroccan food company and they made booking very easy. Quick to respond to emails and super helpful. 100% recommend. What made this tour special was a genuine passion for Moroccan cuisine. Achraf didn't just take us to eat; he explained the stories behind the areas we visited, the types of seafood we were to experience, and why certain foods are central to Moroccan culture. His knowledge of cooking is evident—he shared insights into how dishes are traditionally prepared and the significance of flavors and spice combinations. You get a real sense that food is something he cares deeply about, not just a way to fill a tour schedule. He was also wonderful company—comfortable with conversation, knowledgeable about local culture and customs, and genuinely interested in his guests. I felt safe, comfortable, and looked after the entire time. Whether you're a serious food lover, curious about Moroccan culinary traditions, or simply want an authentic local experience with someone who knows and loves his city, this tour delivers.
It was not all that impressive. I'd say it was below average. You can do this yourself. Have a wonderful time in Morocco.
Achraf was a great guide! Fantastic and very helpful and kind.
We very much enjoyed our food tour in casa Blanca with Achraf. He made us feel very welcome and introduced us to Casablanca food, culture, architecture and history. We enjoyed all the foods that we tried, which included smoothies, pastries of different varieties, and a beef roll. The highlight of the trip was visiting the fish market to pick out our fish, which was then brought to chef at restaurant to cook fresh. The meal was super fresh and very delicious. We ended with mint and lemon verbena tea. A lovely afternoon.
This was such a fun way to experience a slice of Casablanca. We made 5 stops, places that we normally would have walked past and found them all excellent. The people are genuinely welcoming and our guide, Ashrum, was friendly and informative.
The tour was better than expected. We learned a lot not only about the different foods and preparations but about life in Casablanca. Would recommend to anyone interested in Casablanca way of life.
The tour is a great introduction to Casablanca and Achraf was a delightful and knowledgeable guide. In addition to talking about Moroccan food, he also discussed the country’s history and culture and Casablanca’s architecture. For a bonus, he took us to an herb shop. Btw, Achraf’s mother teaches cooking classes!
Achraf is a wonderful guide. Very informative and all of the food stops were fun and delicious.
We paid $250 (total for the pair of us) for a walking tour of both the New and Old Medina in Casablanca. We started out with a fresh fruit smoothie that was packed with fresh ripe fruit . Then we walked to a pastry shop where we made a selection of beautiful local pastries. After that we were escorted to the amazing fish market where our guide consulted with us and then bargained with the fishmonger for a selection of seafood which we carried around the corner to a local restaurant which cooked the fish and presented it for lunch. It was accompanied by baba ghanous and shaksuka, local bread and amazing marinated olives. We had an opportunity to share a couple of sardines with a charming local street cat, who performed a little dance to encourage our generosity. After that we had traditional tea at a street side table where we enjoyed the pastries purchased earlier. If you book this tour, I would advise a very light breakfast because the food was delicious and the portions generous. Our guide was extremely pleasant, very fluent in English, and gave us great historical information during our walk around town. All of the food was included in the price of the tour, and we got to give input into all the different selections of food on offer. This was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to be a bit adventurous in eating local food and who is a good walker. The pavement can be a little rough and challenging but we had no issues as long as we maintained some awareness of the road conditions.
Achraf was amazing and very helpful. He showed us good food and taught us about the town. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Beautiful food and Achraf was very friendly, helpful and informative
We had a great time with Achraf. He was very knowledgeable about Casablanca and all of the places we stopped. Also took great photos! The food stops were great, including the famous Pâtisserie Bennis. The seafood was fresh, handed picked from the market and cooked minutes later at the restaurant. Definitely enjoyed this tour and would recommend.
It was a wonderful experience. We learned so much about the city and its culture and enjoyed all of the food, our guide was wonderful, warm and very engaging. I highly recommend this tour and our guide.
We had a great time on the tour learning about the history of Morocco through food. Achraf was so kind and knowledgeable!
I want to objectively write this review. This was my 15th food tour, so I think I have an idea of how they should go. This by far was my worst experience. The issue started when we arrived 10 minutes early. Once our guide was 10 minutes late I reached out to the tour operator, they responded about 10 minutes later that the guide would contact us. Which he did saying he was sorry he was late and he couldn’t be there for another 45 minutes. At this point we had been waiting 30 minutes and were being asked to wait more. The tour operator left us at the mercy of the guide. No further contact. Through a series of texts with the guide he said his colleague would come. We figured this would be fine. We were wrong. It was very apparent he was helping his friend out, he didn’t want to be there and we were told multiple times how this was his day off. I do not want to insult this man’s character, as it was his day off, and he had every right to not want to be there. I will not give details but, he was very rude, did not allow us to choose or partake in the selections of anything, it was supposed to last 3-4 hours, our tour was done in less than 2 hours. The fish, he chose, were not things we would have chosen so we barely ate any of it. But that is okay, because he did. All this to say to pay almost $500 to be treated badly and none of things we signed up with were fulfilled. Bottom line, there are many other tours in Casablanca. Choose any of them. We had other exceptional experiences in Casablanca with our tour operators. I feel bad we wasted this time and money on such a terrible tour.
Our guide Rachid was excellent. He not only shared details about the area’s history and architecture but his tour of the Hassan II was fantastic. He shared the culture the traditions and even how to pray. It was very enriching. Later we had fish selected from a local market and prepared for our personal enjoyment. It was a great day. The only thing that was unexpected though not surprising is traveling from point to point by Uber and taxi. We sometimes had to wait until an available car arrived.
Our guide Asharaf was wonderful. He took time to explain the culture and show us around. The food was so good. Definitely recommend him as a guide.
This tour exceeded all of our expectations! Achraf was an extraordinary host, from his knowledge of the city’s history to his friendly and professional demeanor. The food tour was excellent. The quality of the restaurants and ingredients was fantastic. From pastries to fresh fish accompanied by an assortment of incredible dips and sauces we were left with full bellies and stories that we will be telling for years to come.
Achraf was extremely fun, and a very knowledgeable guide. It’s was both a food tour and historical/cultural experience. Would definitely recommend.
Achraf was an excellent tour guide. The food experience was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend this tour.
Achraf was a great tour guide. The food was delicious. Everything was super fresh. He exceeded our expectations. We will tell all our friends.
We really enjoyed Yusuf’s guidance. He was very knowledgable and knew the best spots. The food was delicious. Yusef was fun to talk to and he listened to us. We had a lot of questions and he answered them all. Yusef had a lot of ithe same interests ans my son who was with us
Great food tour with Ashraf. We enjoyed seeing the side streets of Casablanca and getting a little bit of history with some delicious food.
Ashraf was a great guide showing lots of the hidden streets of Casablanca. Everyone knew him and smiled when he walked by. The food was great.
Such a great time and an incredible guide! Knew the history of Casablanca and was able to answer any questions we had. The highlight was the selection of fresh fish, multiple types, and then walking across the street where they cooked it for us and feast!!
If you’ve never experienced the back streets of CasaBlanca, good for it. Achraf was a good guide walking us thru the city and stopping at local places. The seafood picking and prep and eating was awesome. We actually had 3 stop where we sat and ate. Fresh juice stop, seafood feast and tea with desert. All was good.
We enjoyed our food tour in Casablanca very much. Our guide Aschaf was excellent and very knowledgeable. In addition to stopping at the Central Market and then having our fish grilled at one of the local restaurants, Aschaf took into the old Medina . He showed us many of the handcrafted goods. Our tour was wonderful.
Achraf was a wonderful host on our food tour. The food was delicious and plentiful. We would definitely recommend this food and cultural experience.
Great way to see Casablanca and enjoy some nice food along the walk. Central Market and seafood restaurant was a highlight. Changes to itinerary a little disappointing as we didn't get to La Scala restaurant. Our Guide, Ashraf, was very good and very informative.
Tour guide Achraf was great and very friendly. Provided lots of cultural information in addition to food. Disappointing we did not get to La Sqala as per the itinerary.
What a great experience, Youssef was very knowledgeable and great fun! We did the tour during Ramadan and got to experience a traditional Moroccan dinner in a local family home. Very delicious and hospitable.
Honestly, I can’t talk enough about this food tour. One year later and we still talk about our experience with everyone we know. The time and patience they attributed us who has young kids was amazing, and we honestly learned so much more about Morocco than just the food. The guides are all approachable and extremely knowledgeable! We did food tours in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangiers, Essaouira and Marrakech, and every tour had its own unique vibe. I highly recommend Moroccan Food Tour!
Youssef is an awesome tour guide. We toured the Medina and then went to a iftar meal with family. The meal was astounding beginning with a chicken tagine and ending with a tiny delectable pastry served with mint tea. During the meal we talked about the food, how it was prepared ( auntie cooked almost everythng on the table) Ramadan and the lessons of fasting. As with any good family meal it was full of laughter and good food. Youssef provided excellent interpretation and was extremely thoughtful Overall an experience not to miss.
This turned out to be one of the best and most interesting food tours we’ve been on. We started with a tour through the old Medina getting. Youssef is a very good and knowledgeable guide so we could ask him all kinds of questions. Since it was Ramadan, we couldn’t do the regular food tour so instead we were generously invited to be a part of the iftar in the home of friends of our guide. It was an amazing meal with a lot of homecooked Moroccan delicious food and a warm welcome. We highly recommend a food tour with Moroccan Food Tour. Helena & Mats
Excellent experience! It is absolutely a must to get a real taste of Moroccan food and culture. Definitely recommend this tour! Youssef is the best!!!
Wonderful introduction to Moroccan food. Our tour guide Achraf showed us various areas of city shared local knowledge and tasted local cuisine. Highly recommend.
I cannot speak enough about the Casablanca Food Tour! Our tour guide Youssef, was AMAZING! We toured with him for the entire day. I would highly recommend this tour and guide as he is extremely knowledgeable and LOVES his country and culture. Our only regret is that we did not book him for Marrakech. InshAllah, when we return to Morocco, we will.
we contacted the company and scheduled a tour. It was a total bait and switch. Certain parts were good. But first, we were supposed to be picked up at cruise port…..that didn’t happen and it was a mess trying to find the guide. We walked almost a mile before we found the guide. When we finally found her, she was a subcontractor….not an employee of the company we bought from. She did a good job, but she basically was following orders and didn’t really have the whole program down. Bottom line..find another company to do a similar tour. Oh and another thing, I had contacted the company 3 times in the months before the tour to make sure we had a certain guide(friends had used him) . They said no problem as long as he still worked for the company. Then on day of tour they give me someone who doesn’t even work for them…..no apology, no notice. And I found out he was doing another tour! This company is just not reputable, and we would not recommend.
The start of our tour was far from good. We all expected to be picked up At the port and were not. We were told to take the shuttle into town. It was incredibly frustrating and upsetting and of course last minute exchanges by phone with the guide. Eventually the co rep found us where we were standing and guided us to the shuttle and made arrangements to drop us off where our guide was waiting. Not a great start at all and we had several people on tour that were elderly and didn’t walk well-hence why we booked a driving food tour and NOT a walking tour. After the bad start, we had a wonderful time with Hasnaa. We spent an hour at the Hassan II mosque. While impressive, this was to be a foodie tour, so 30 minutes would have been more than enough. Next was breakfast, amazing. Then a short walk to some tastes in the olive and spice market. Then we walked to the butcher, bought some camel meat which was grilled for us at a restaurant. Same for the fish market. Every stop the service was amazing and clean and Hasnaa was there to help. She was super. At the end, because we were so late starting and had to get back to the ship, some of us went back to the shuttle and others stayed with Hasnaa for some shopping and then she took them back to the shuttle. The tour was great-recommend you pick ur people at the port as advertised, shorten the Hassan visit and leave time for shopping in your special city!
We booked the Casablanca Full-Day Food and Cultural Tour with Moroccan Food Tour. Achraf, our guide, was fantastic! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and observant (always lending a helping hand to other tourists and non tourists trying to find their way around the city). We started with a tour of the Hassan II Mosque, which was impressive and beautiful. We paid extra to skip the line for the guided tour, which may not have changed the wait time significantly since we were there early--however, the tour was educational and absolutely worth it. We also visited the panoramic view of Casablanca (near El Hank lighthouse), the medina, Habbous, and passed through other interesting parts of the city. For food and drink throughout the day, we had fresh fruit juice, mint tea, almond pastries, fresh seafood cooked to order at the Central Market (wow!), and tasty sandwiches with chicken and lamb. Everything was delicious. Achraf spent additional time with us to show his favorite spots and the tour wasn't rushed at all. Highly recommend this tour if you want to experience some great highlights of Casablanca with a true local who grew up there.
Yesterday my wife and I took a very good 3-hour food tour from Moroccan Food Tour. Our guide was Achraf. He was fantastic - very familiar with the area, knowledgeable about the local food, friendly, helpful, and with a great sense of humor. He went above and beyond taking us to places that we would not have found on our own. In addition to food stops - all very delicious - he took us around the market in the old town. We highly recommend the tour and the our guide..
Wow, what a fantastic tour. It wasn't a taste test it was a feast and full of culture. The photos don't show all the meals. I was to busy enjoying the food to take more. It would be one of my favourite tours and would do it again. So do yourself a favour and just do it. Being part of a group of Australian's, Canadian and American's all with different taste buds, we all agree just go.
Achraf was always polite, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable as he guided us on the food tour. He sought to ensure that each of of us on the tour had an enjoyable experience! We learned much about the culinary aspects of Moroccan life while feeling we were immersed in the everyday life and the daily activities of the local residents, whether it be walking through neighborhoods or in the local marketplace and at a local pastry shop and at a restaurant where we enjoyed a freshly prepared meal and later coffee and a tasty desert. A very worthwhile experience!
