Our 15-day desert trips tour was amazing! The itinerary was perfect and customizable. Everything was very well thought out from the timed arrivals to the accommodations that were picked out. Itinerary
Day 1
1
It Depend of airport or port of arrival, the first days may change, however the overall activities are similar. Upon arrival at Casablanca's Mohammed V airport, we will greet you and drive you to the heart of the economic capital of Morocco, Welcome to the modern coastal city of Casablanca. Casablanca's main attraction is the relatively modern and monumental Hassan II Mosque. Inaugurated in 1993, it sits on an outcrop jutting into the Atlantic and offers breathtaking views. It has a 690 feet (210 m) minaret— the tallest structure in Morocco and the tallest minaret in the world. What makes this mosque additionally unique is that it is one of the few mosques in the country non-Muslims are permitted to enter. Join a guided tour and appreciate the fine examples of Moroccan and Islamic artisanship. Overnight at Hotel,
Day 2
2
After breakfast, Venture north to the imperial city, and present-day capital, of Rabat (Meknes, Fes, and Marrakech) make up the remaining imperial cities). Explore the medieval fortification of the Chellah Necropolis and wander the Roman and Islamic ruins. Enter through the grand door of the Kasbah des Oudaias into Rabat's original city center. From there, visit the 20th-century Andalusian Gardens and enjoy the serene space away from the crowds. Discover the Hassan Tower, a minaret of the incomplete mosque and Mausoleum of Mohamed V. A 12th-century project that was abandoned soon after construction began.
After visiting the imperial city of Rabat we will start driving to Asilah Once in the city, we will visit the medina of Asilah to discover its important historical and monumental heritage. This fortified area next to the Atlantic still houses vestiges of the Portuguese domination of the 15th century. This heritage has left traces on the old ramparts and the Raisuni Palace, a privileged witness of the events that the city went through. Overnight in a Hotel or Traditional Riad
Day 3
3
After breakfast, explore Tangier, which is a major entry point from Europe to Morocco, with many recent additions to improve the city as a tourist destination, including a new marina area (a nice place for a quick walk), and the Medina area. The Tangier Kasbah (fortified castle) is small and compact enough to allow for a self-guided and easy walk by following the various signs. Enter through Bab Haha and enter Place du Mechouar. If you’d like, you can pay for a guide to tour with you. About 15-20 minutes away from the city, you can also visit Cap Spartel and the Cave of Hercules, which takes about 1 hour to fully enjoy. The cave's outline, when seen against the Atlantic skyline, is thought to resemble that of the African continent. Find a café in the hip Zoco Chico square for something to eat and do a little people-watching and cap off the day with a late afternoon paseo to enjoy the sunset as you stroll along the seafront promenade of the bustling corniche. Overnight in Tangier
Day 4
4
In the morning, have breakfast and then make your way toward Chefchaouen. On the way, you’ll pass through Tetouan, which is a jewel of a town in a striking location at the foot of the Rif Mountains, just a few kilometers from the sea. The ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, looks like it has not changed in several centuries. You will be able to tour this town on your own with recommendations from your driver. Lunch will be at your leisure.
Continuing on, you will arrive in Chefchaouen, a visual delight clad in blue walls, doors, windows, stairways, alleyways, and archways–everything is a combination of soft, pastel sky blue and deeper, more powerful hues. After your check-in at your riad, you are free to explore the town at your own pace or simply relax. Outa el Hammam is the main square and the place to watch the world go by. Walk up the tiny higgledy-piggledy alleys, away from the more tourist-orientated areas, and you will find the everyday life of the town comes alive. Ask your driver if you want any recommendations. Dinner will be on your own. Overnight in a Hotel or Traditional Riad
Day 5
5
After breakfast, Take note of Chefchaouen's blue buildings, which glow in the morning light. Make sure to wake up early to watch the sunrise over the mountains from the nearby Spanish mosque. Since many shops don't open until 10 am, you can take this time to wander the serene town.
Then, you’ll depart for a hike in the Rif Mountains. Here, you’ll get the chance to explore the wilderness among the cedar trees and can hike to the Cascades d’Akchour, a stunning waterfall that will warrant plenty of photos. You’ll also encounter smaller waterfalls along the way, and depending on the weather, you can take a refreshing dip. On the other side of the river, you can take the steep path to God’s Bridge, a natural rock formation. Or, you can follow the canyon to view the bridge from below. Once back in Chefchaouen, visit the medina and surround yourself with the beauty of the town. Take a walk to the market, where you can buy some fresh fruit to enjoy, and then people watch the local passersby dressed in bright-colored traditional garb. Dinner is at your leisure, and you will have the rest of the evening to relax before you move on to your next tour tomorrow.
Day 6
6
Today, you will say goodbye to Chefchaouen and travel south to Fes. On the way to Fes, you’ll visit Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that contains Morocco's best-preserved Roman ruins. You can take a nice break from driving to wander the massive complex, exploring large merchant homes with visible heating systems, temples, and many well-preserved mosaics. There are usually guides available here to hire on your own if you would like, and your driver can assist you with this.
Then, it is over to Moulay Idriss, which from a distance, looks like a sitting camel. Moulay Idriss was founded in 789 CE by Moulay Idriss after he had fled religious and tribal conflicts in Mecca. It was here that he founded the Idrisid dynasty, making Moulay Idriss Morocco's first Islamic capital and a site of ongoing cultural significance. The city also contains the only round minaret in Morocco. You can eat lunch here, or wait to eat at the next stop
The last stop before Fes is the prosperous city of Meknes. It has a smaller medina than Fes and you can explore at a leisurely pace, without worrying about aggressive shopkeepers. Your driver will lead you through the Ville Impériale area, where you can see gardens, palaces, the impressive gate of Bab al-Mansour, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the Royal Stables. Many of these palaces were constructed with materials taken from Volubilis, so be on the lookout for Roman columns hidden in unexpected places! You’ll end the day in Fes, one of Morocco's four imperial cities. Fes was founded by Moulay Idriss I and was made the capital of the Idrisid dynasty by his successor, Moulay Idriss II. You will be taken to your riad in the Fes medina, and the late afternoon into the evening will be yours.
Day 7
7
Fes is home to the most complete medina, Much of the city has remained untouched over the centuries, resulting in a more authentic medieval experience. Divided into three main areas of interest, you will explore two medina quarters, the older Fes el Bali and the newer Fes el Jdid, Meet your guide and begin your tour at Riad, working your way along the main thoroughfare, Talâa Kebira. Navigate the narrow, windy streets to find the Chouara Tannery. Climb to the rooftop of a nearby leather shop for an encompassing view of the men at work—a practice that is little changed in hundreds of years. Find the 9th-century Al-Qarawiyyin University, one of the oldest universities in the world. Head to the Al Attarine Madrasa to see examples of Moroccan artisanship throughout. Make your way to Fes el Jdid to check out the Mellah (Jewish quarter and cemetery) and take advantage of its location for an overview of the city you will also visit the ceramics Cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts.
Day 8
8
Get an early start today, because you'll be covering a lot of ground to reach the Sahara Desert! You will start by crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains through the town of Azrou and its majestic cedar forests. Here, you can take a brief detour to the scenic Cèdre Gouraud Forest, where troops of Barbary Macaque monkeys lounge in ancient cedar trees near the road. You’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, which sits on a cold, high desert plateau. Despite the harsh landscape, Midelt is known as Morocco's "Apple City" for its productive orchards. This is only possible because the Moulouya River (the third-longest river in Morocco) provides year-round water as it runs to the Mediterranean Sea.
Continuing on, you’ll cross a landscape of steep mountain ranges, wide valleys, and narrow canyon passes. You will follow the Ziz Valley, an important branch of the ancient Saharan Trade Route. You will start to see many fortified houses (known as ksars) that were built by merchants to protect the gold, salt, and spices that passed this way.
After crossing through the incredible Ziz Gorge, you will begin to see early signs of Saharan sand dunes. These wind-blown dunes are in constant motion, often leading them to encroach upon farms, roads, and buildings. You can also see an ancient method of water "mining” here, an ingenious way to transfer water from the mountains to farmland, which was employed before modern pumps were invented. Along the way, you'll notice nomadic shepherds and some tents in this area. Near Merzouga, you can take a short break as you prepare for the trip to your desert camp. If you ride a camel, you will arrive at camp just before sunset. You can climb up to watch the colorful sunset reflecting on the sand dunes. Head back to camp for dinner and a night of traditional Berber music by the fire. There is almost no light pollution in this region, so be sure to look at the starry night sky before you head to bed.
Day 9
9
If you are an early riser, you'll be rewarded with a sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, we will begin our desert excursion in the Sahara desert to explore the different parts of the desert. First, we will see the lake of Merzouga which is home to exotic birds, then head directly to the middle of the Sahara desert where nomads with their animals still live a traditional life, we will sip a cup of tea with them and see how they live. Afterward, we take the route where Ralley Paris Dakar used to race, then we get to Mifis mines that once used to be exploited by France, time to visit them. We continue our journey by heading directly to Khamlia village which is inhabited by black Berber people originally from Mali, Niger ...We will have a chance to listen to their music and dance. Lunch in the village ( Berber Pizza). Then, we set off to visit an impressive oasis on the edge of sand dunes before we end up our day in your hotel.
Day 10
10
After breakfast at your hotel. We'll leave the immense desert and travel towards the city of Rissani, once a major stopping place for the Saharan-caravans route; if it coincides with the day markets which take place on : Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays we will have an opportunity to visit the souk — the largest one in the region
Next, continue to Erfoud, known for its date festival and famous for its fossil mining and artisan factories (you may have already seen some fossils in the markets). En route, you can see hillside mines where large rocks are taken from the earth. While in town, stop at a local artisan collective where you can learn about the types of fossils found in the area and see the full process of how the fossil-rich rock is transformed into beautiful objects, large and small.
Then, continue our journey to Dades valley passing through villages such as Millab, Tinjdad, and Toroug to arrive later at Todra valley which is a green one surrounded by mud villages and mountains. Driving around 30 min we get to Todra gorges: a narrow vertical passage with vertical cliffs 300m high rising dramatically on each side, they are a popular destination for climbing lovers. Getting to Dades valley where you will see the fascinating rock formation known locally as "monkies fingers" as well as beautiful mud kasbahs. Once your exploration is over for the day, enjoy dinner and get some rest.
Day 11
11
Today, we travel to El Kalaa Mgou'na or Rose town where over 400 tonnes of rose petals are picked every spring to be processed into rosewater or exported to perfume Industries. The festival of roses is held here every May As we travel from Rose town to Skoura you will see so many kasbahs among the greenery of Dades valley. The small town of Skoura Is surrounded by thousands of palm groves and the most beautiful kasbahs in southern Morocco are to be found here. Along the way, your knowledgeable and energetic guide will regale you with the history and stories of the Medina, the Souk, and the Mellah neighborhoods of the Red City
In the afternoon you'll continue your private tour, exploring places like the Bahia and El Badii Palaces, and the Saadian Tombs. You'll also see the Majorelle Gardens, an iconic garden retreat built over forty years by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later inhabited by famed designer Yves Saint Laurent. As the evening progresses, Jemaa el-Fna comes alive with musicians and storytellers, acrobats and dancers, and even snake charmers. Wander the many rows of food stalls serving anything from full meals to fruit drinks, dried dates, and small snacks. Grab a bite, or for a more relaxed experience, look for one of the many cafés that sit above the square to enjoy a meal while you watch the show below.

Today, make your way west to the Atlantic coast and to the laid-back beach town of Essaouira. The route along the way takes you over extensive rolling plains and through endemic argan forests. If you're lucky, you may see goats in the trees grazing on the argan fruit, a sight seen when grass pasture is limited or unavailable. Along the way, there is an option to stop at an Argan Oil Cooperative to see how precious and expensive oil is extracted from the nut. When you arrive in Essaouira, stroll around the busy harbor and see the fishermen selling fresh fish direct from their traditional blue boats. What an amazing journey through Morocco! We experienced every aspect of this vibrant country, from the cities, through the mountains, and across the desert. There was so much to explore and learn about this country and culture. Truly a memorable trip. Our guides, Hassan and Assou, were wonderful, always helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable. Hassan did an excellent job in organizing our days and extended guided tours with locals of specific areas. Assou was a very professional and competent driver. I have tremendous respect for both of these young men. Shukran…..Todd and Jennifer LeCompte
This was a trip of a lifetime! Assou was an excellent safe professional driver. Hassan spoke very good, clear English, and was very knowledgeable and happy to answer everyone's questions. We had a large group of 16 friends, and these two were always smiling and having a good time. I highly recommend both of them. They set us up with all of the best local food, craftsmen, lodging, and things to do! And hired local guides in areas of historic significance. I don't think we missed anything, and our trip was very fun and full of adventure! I very highly recommend Hassan and Assou if you're considering a trip to Morocco!
Hassan and Azul were amazing. They were friendly and very professional. Thank you for amazing experience.

We booked a 14 days 13 nights trip with Desert Trips across Morocco - we were in a new city almost every day! The driver Issam assigned to us was very good , patient and a safe driver. Some of the guides for the city tours were not that great but other than that was a good experience . 2 hotels one in mArrakech and one in Essaouira were not good else all the other hotels and service was great! The food and people in Morocco were amazing - will definitely go back there !
Amazing experience on this tour! Said was an amazing guide and we would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to cover a lot of ground in Morocco in a stress free way while having super unique experiences.
DesertTrips took my wife and I on a 15 day tour in a private vehicle - ( just the two of us in a Toyota 4wd,) - and their Driver - "Said". It was a 5 star experience all the way. Everything - from airport pick up, accomodation, Said's all round safety and care, along with his attention to detail, his fun and easy attitude, made the experience of driving around Morocco one of the best experiences I have had - (and I've had a few..!) Morocco is safe, diverse, and the local people are friendly and wonderful. DesertTrips arranged for some great knowledgable guides to take us through the life-brimming alleyways in the Medina's etc... and if you enjoy Photography, Morocco hands life to you on a platter. The photos I have added don't do justice to the thousands I took... The Diversity of the tour was incredible - the ever-changing landscapes, the cities and towns all had different things to offer, and our accomodation, which included Hotels and Riads, never disappointed! It's a fun place - and DesertTrips never dropped the ball once. Thank you Said for your wonderful company and Joy we all shared together... Geoff and Laurian.
Said was our driver for our 14 day adventure in Morocco. We cannot say enough good things about Said. Said was an excellent driver and we always felt safe in his car. Said was punctual, polite and patient with us and he had a great knowledge of Morocco. Said also had great taste in music 🎶 We would not hesitate to recommend Said as your driver.
We are so glad that we chose Desert Trips to organise our 15-day travel from north to south Morocco. From the very beginning, Khalil helped us with advice on designing our itinerary and choice of hotels and activities. There were numerous highlights of this trip, including: Our excellent driver Said who was such a considerate driver, looked after our comfort and interests all the time. We were so sorry when our tour finished to say our goodbyes. We knew what to expect in some of the Moroccan cities which we had previously visited (and relished our visits there), but we were enchanted with several new places for us (especially Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes). The hotels recommended to us in these cities were ideally located for us to walk about the main sites. Another highlight for us were the stays in the desert. On our way for a camel trek and sunset. The camels were amazing. Very well cared for. The camp was pretty cool. The tents were quite large and comfortable plus AC. That evening we enjoyed an awesome traditional dinner with tajine and all. In the morning, we rose at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise. All the places where we had a local guide planned helped in our appreciation of the history, architecture and culture of the place. Highlights for us were the excellent guides in Rabat(Abdallatiph), Fes(Mehdi) and Marrakech(Mustapha). We always felt secure that we could rely on Khalil to keep us updated on our progress and next-day plans. He was very efficient in sorting out a minor problem we had with the booked hotel in Casablanca and relocated us within an hour to a great hotel close to and overlooking the Hassan II Mosque. All in all, we had a wonderful time and we are very happy to highly recommend Desert Trips for organising bespoke tours to match visitors’ interests. For those saying you could book all travel yourself, etc. And get a cheaper price: that may be true but services like Desert Trips charge in part for their workers' time and the labor they put into organizing everything. It is important to acknowledge the convenience that comes as a result of someone finding your amazing driver and all your hotels, local guides, etc. Not to mention that when booking with a company like this, there is an added layer of accountability that the hotels, etc. have to meet (which makes for better service most times) and also safety (esp. for solo travelers). Overall, we will be happy to have another trip organised by Desert Trips
I'm sold.. Normally, there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned, it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took. DesertTrips took care of everything! All we had to do was show up when we were supposed to. When you arrive at the airport, a driver greets you! We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the driver, Said, to learn more about his country, culture, and history. Highly recommend him.! Our local guides were excellent and helpful in every way. A highlight was having the guides pick local restaurants where we could share meals together, all the food was much more delicious them I expected. Our accommodations were all great. It was so relaxing for me and I was able to enjoy the trip. To sum up, DesertTrips was a fantastic team to work with, and I can't wait to plan our next trip with them...which might be soon...
ASSOU was the heart and soul of our trip — our assistant, timekeeper, guide, and an exceptional driver. Every morning, he arrived ahead of schedule, greeting our group with a warm smile at the hotel. He ensured we reached every destination and hotel on time, without fail. Beyond his regular duties, ASSOU went above and beyond, often driving us to our favorite restaurants and accommodating our requests, even when it meant late nights. His dedication earned him the admiration and praise of everyone in the group. We are also deeply grateful to Khalil and Med, the leaders of the travel agency, for their meticulous planning of our Morocco journey. They listened carefully to our needs and thoughtfully arranged our itinerary and accommodations. Travel often comes with unexpected surprises, but Khalil’s sense of responsibility and quick adjustments ensured everything ran smoothly. As a U.S.-based travel agency, their professionalism and commitment truly stood out. The entire trip was perfect, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to ASSOU for his hard work and outstanding contributions.
Having recently spent 15 delightful days in Morocco in Deserttrips's excellent care, five stars for sure! This was fantastic! they listened to what I really wanted to see and do, and delivered far beyond what my wildest expectations could have been. Advice to travelers? Let Deserttrips be your guide in Morocco!
Our 16 day tour around Morocco from Casablanca was truly an amazing experience. Led by our wonderful driver Said, we always felt at ease as he drove safely and could always answer questions about the different regions we passed through and gave us insight on each city. Said was careful and kind throughout the trip and we enjoyed listening to his car playlist very much. He was an excellent showing us around the desert. Our local guides in Fes, Marrakech and Essaouira were all very good too and very insightful. We enjoyed ourselves very much and were astounded by the beautiful changing landscapes that Morocco had to offer. These landscapes were complimented by the beautiful riads and locations chosen for us to stay at and truly made the experience memorable. A big thank you to Khalil for his prompt engagement and answering our queries and thank you again to Said for making the journey smooth and safe. Thank you to the guides included in the itinerary too that made the trip so alive as we learnt so much about the rich culture of Morocco. It was an experience of a lifetime and we are happy that we chose Desert Trips to facilitate this experience.
I just completed the 15-Day Grand Tour of Morocco with my Desert Trips tour guide, Said. I have travelled to all 7 continents previously, but this trip was a wonderful visit to another world, guided by an enjoyable man who is always professional, helpful, courteous and informative, not to mention happy and fun. The two weeks flew by as a result of not only Said's assistance, but a great itinerary of sights, sounds and tastes, all taken in via strong and reliable transportation - Toyota Land Cruiser. The accommodations were excellent, always comfortable, clean and stylish in a variety of forms - Berber, Arabic & French. The breakfasts every day were filling and tasty, along with a few delicious Moroccan dinners included. I have no complaints whatsoever. Saying goodbye to Said at the airport tomorrow will not be easy. My thanks to Said and company owner Med. If you have any questions, I can be contacted at jervron@gmail.com Ron Jerak
We started off from Marrakech and stopped in Casablanca. Also I had been to Casablanca before, I never toured the Hassan II mosque. We headed for the 3pm tour, as this one is less crowded. Most tourist groups go for the morning one. After the tour, which lasts roughly 45 minutes, we continued to Rabat. The hotel recommended Dinner at Dar Naji, a typical Moroccon restaurant, excellent food. The next morning we left for the village of Bhalil, where the guide took us to a cave home. Apparently there are 500 cave homes in the village, they are hidden so. it was 44C outside, but the caves feel very cool and pleasant. The lady showed me how to make buttons for the Djebbalah's. We left Bhalil and stayed overnight in Taza, a town, absolutely not geared up to tourists. We left the next morning for Oujda, which is about 15km from the Algerian boarder. The town has a very modern part and then of course the Medina and souks, frequented by the locals. The next day we left for Al-Hamida, a beautiful drive along the mediteranean coast. We stayed overnight in Cala Iris. We left Cala Iris and drove over a dirt road for about 11km. We passed acres and acres of Hashish fields, grown here for medicinal purposes. We headed direction Tetouan and stayed at the Ecolodge Ferma Jebala, situated above Tetouan. We had excellent food here, a chicken Tajine and breakfast with fresh cheese, olives, eggs, honey etc was the best I have eaten for a long time. The next day we headed for Rabat, but I decided to stay Sale at Dar El Mouhit. The stay at the Riad was a highlight, as the lady who looks after it, Mrs Amina is a real character. All in all, a very good trip, I wanted to see a different Morocco, but suggest, probably spring or autumn would be better, as less hot. The temperature in the coastal areas were better, but it was very busy with Moroccon tourists. I had Rachid from Morocco Montravels as my guide and driver. I can highly recommend him. I have been travelling with him on several occasions. He is an excellent driver and communicates well. Thank you Rachid, I will be back for another trip for sure. Will try to find some off the beaten track places.
an unforgettable Family trip ever. this was a birthday gift from my father. We love travel together and Morocco was on his bucket list so we decided this would be the most fascinating choice. Everything about this trip was magnificent, from the first interaction we had with Med, the planner of our flawless schedule, to the unrivaled knowledge of our driver Saiid. Although organizing a s private Morocco tour can be difficult, Med made the process look easy. His meticulous attention to detail and understanding of our interests ensured that our schedule was created perfectly. Each day was a new chapter in our Moroccan dream and we had the opportunity to experience the best of this amazing country. Our journey began in Casablanca, where our driver Saiid greeted us with a friendly smile and an infectious enthusiasm for the local Moroccan. He is so knowledgeable, wonderful sense of humor, and helped above and beyond what was expected. He got us everywhere safely and in good time. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough, we did become quite lost one night on our own…but he had carefully given us the bearings to find our way riad. But it wasn't just the driver that amazed us. Our accommodation was a tasteful blend of luxury and authenticity throughout the trip, so clean, comfortable, and artfully decorated, and served delicious and plentiful breakfasts, especially in the riads. This sahara desert travel is a must if you are looking for an adventure that will ignite your soul and leave you with memories to last a lifetime!!! It was an experience far from the lives we know and truly etched in our hearts. Dive in, embrace the Moroccan culture, and let DesertTrips take you on an unforgettable journey. Don't take our word for it. Your very own Saiid is ready to guide you through the fascinating places and picturesque scenery these magnificent nations have to offer. I can’t recommend this Trip highly enough!!!
We are a family of 5, ,y wife and I, two sons 18 and 13, and a girl who is 6. We do a fair amount of travelling during the year. We were so lucky to pick Desert Trips 15-day Morocco Grand Tour for our Christmas/New Years trip. Our amazing driver/guide, Khaleel, picked us right outside the arrival hall at Casablanca airport and our fantastic journey around Morocco began. First, Khaleel is energetic and enthusiastic young man who went way and beyond to make us comfortable and cater to our needs! His extensive knowledge of his country allowed us to truly immerse ourselves into Moroccan culture and history. The tour takes from Casablanca in a clockwise circle around Morocco. We were so intrigued by the history and culture that we ended up seeing 26 cities and towns, with several not on the original itinerary! The local guides at stop cities spoke perfect English and had a vast knowledge about their cities. It showed that they were chosen carefully. The old cities had this ambiance that is hard to describe. The narrow alleyways lined up with shops, the cacophony of sounds and voices, the aroma of spices and exotic perfumes, and the Islamic Moroccan architecture with its iridescent arches and colorful mosaics, the blend transports you back to medieval times. You can help but be mesmerized by it all. The two nights at the edge of the Sahara desert, one of them in a desert camp, were tranquil calming. Away from light pollution, the sky was dazzling with stars. We had the chance to see Gnawa people who I've only seen in documentaries. Their culture, food, music, and the people themselves were something else. The fossil museum was a great bonus. Khaleel and Desert Trips gave me something on which I cannot put a value, great memories with my family. For that, I'll be eternally grateful. A word of advice, when given the choice between staying at hotels or Riads, go for the Riads! Hotels are similar everywhere but Riads are uniquely Moroccan.
The 15 day Moroccan private tour by Desert Trips was an unforgettable experience. It all started with a sincere recommendation from my cousin are we glad we took his advice. A lot of Moroccan traditional and natural beauty around and such wonderful Khalil (guide & driver) made this trip very special. From the start to the end of the tour, the kindest person who remained in touch throughout; was Khalil. His knowledge of his country impressed us. He was more than just a driver. He was full of info about every place that we had never heard of before. He gave detailed explanations of all the places, especially Berber (Amazigh) history and culture. It was so enjoyable to spend these days with him. We were in awe of Khalil's amazing ability to locate beautiful hidden places. He got us everywhere safely and in good time. Everything listed on the tour was way beyond our expectations. We had a variety of Riads (hotels) with excellent breakfasts and 3 dinners. The highlight of the tour for us was the Sahara desert - a camel ride in the sunset in Merzouga, and visiting the living place of the nomad family! We did a lot of walking exploring all the historic sites so very important to have comfortable shoes! We visited UNESCO World Heritage Sites along the way. One highlight is Volubilis. Our local guides in Marrakech and Fes took us to local restaurants for lunch and gave us a taste of the local delicacies. They were friendly, energetic, very organized, knowledgeable, and kind. At each stop, and thanks to flawless logistics, we were able to focus entirely on adventure and leisure. Hassan's (Fes's guide) infectious excitement kept us excited and engaged throughout the day, which was full of unexpected surprises. As our private Morocco tour drew to a close, we were left with an unquenchable need for more. Khalil made this trip unique and we are incredibly appreciative of his commitment and knowledge. If you are considering a tour with them in Morocco, you are in for a treat, especially if Khalil is your driver!
I selected DesertTrips team for our 15 days private tour of Morocco, we were very pleased with their service. I was in contact with Med who was so accommodating and helpful, and he responded immediately with several different itineraries for those 15 days. We communicated and nailed down the perfect itinerary with pictures/descriptions of where we were going including all Hotels and Riads. Every request was filled. Their accommodations were terrific, and we had no complaints. This tour was truly an amazing experience. Our tour driver(guide) Khalil did an excellent job taking care of us during our 15 days of travel, driving very safely. He was an excellent and safe driver and we were extremely compatible. Khalil’s friendly personality, his constant caring for our well being and excellent handling of the various tour details have made us feel in good hands, and led us smoothly to the wonderful locations of our tour! We got along so well and ended up sharing many many laughs together. We learned so many things from Khalil about the Berber Nomads and the Moroccan Cultures. He always would direct us where it’s safe to go during our free time and always texted us at night to make sure we made it back to the hotel safely. The camel ride in the Sahara desert across magical sand dunes ending in a beautiful sunset and go sandboarding was the ultimate memorable highlight. The camel man was so good at taking pictures of us on the camels. We had the opportunity to view and learn about ancient fossils, Khalil took us to many shops (Rissani) for shopping and kept an eye on all of us. learn about the local agriculture and irrigations systems (Hassilabied), visit the African Hollywood (Ouarzazate) and (Ait Benhaddou) where many famous films were shot, and so much more! Many thanks to Med, and Khalil for their outstanding efforts and highly memorable private tour! I would recommend them to anyone and would use their services again next time we are in Morocco.

We had a private car with driver through Morocco for 15 days. They booked all our hotels and Riads (magnificent old homes in the medinas) for us. We rode camels in the Sahara to a luxury camp. We drove though 3 different mountain ranges, the amazing sand fines in the Sahara desert and the Atlantic Ocean. We saw so many cities and towns, even one that looked like Switzerland, and Roman ruins. We saw wild Barbary apes. But the people we met were amazing. Our drivers Said and Khalil, the tour guides in each city that brought the history to life, having tea in a Nomad family tent in the desert, and meeting the staff in the riads. Every moment of this trip was amazing. From the minute we were picked up at the airport the the minute we were dropped off to return home, everything was taken care of. This trip was exceptional.
We had such an amazing time on a 15-day tour around Morocco! First of all, Morocco was absolutely amazing. I loved it more than I thought I would. With this tour, we got to see so much of the country in such a short amount of time (though I wish we could’ve stayed longer!). Being on this tour took away the stress we would’ve had if we tried to do it on our own. Our driver Khalil is very considerate. My whole family learned a whole lot of Moroccan history, culture, customs, and even Arabic/Berber language from him, making some of the lengthy driving days a lot of fun. Khalil also knew exactly what kinds of food we were craving for lunches, and was always able to bring us to the just right local eateries along the trip. We visited Casablanca, Rabat, Tanger, Marrakech, Fes, Atlas Mountains, Essaouira, Dades Valley, the Sahara desert, and many smaller towns in between. It was a great time! DesertTrips are arranged for everything. Our accommodations were to our expectations. The Riads are really great. Our guides were really helpful. I can’t imagine doing Fes or Marrakech medina without guides. They were very accommodating helping us locate what we wanted for souvenirs. They gave us great recommendations for lunch. I especially liked the Tangia And the Tagine, Couscous, recommendation in Marrakech. Since it is a private tour, the itinerary was flexible to an extent. The desert camp is a must-do. it was one of the most unforgettable experiences. Sleeping outside under the desert sky with shooting stars and then waking up to sunrise over the Sahara felt like an experience in a movie. and the ever-present artistry beyond each corner you turn. This tour is a must-do if you are thinking about visiting Morocco. Khalil has parred excellence and we would highly recommend DesertTrips to everyone. From the mosaic-rich Riads we stayed in, the pristine gardens we walked through, the entranced medinas, the enchanting kasbahs, the majestic palaces, the melancholy prison we visited (I highly recommend the prison tour), and so much more, Khalil gave us a once in a lifetime fantastic experience. Thank you so much! Best wishes and good health to you,
When booking a 15 day private tour of Morocco for two, 4 months in the future, paying in advance, one never knows what will happen or what kind of product will be delivered, if ever. I write this review in Marrakech at the end of a fabulous tour where we were chauffeured safely and skillfully by Said our 27 year old driver. By halfway through our journey he became like our son and he felt the same. Always on time waiting for us every morning as we emerged from our Riad or desert tent. One of his favourite sayings was, ” Take your time” whenever we wanted to take pictures or explore a roadside market. To summarize, everything was positive, and we have no negative comments whatsoever. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour company to anyone considering a holiday in Morocco.
Khalio and his team are amazing. Very accommodating and thoughtful. He has the best interest for his clients. Can’t recommend more.
Morocco Trip Found DESERT TRIPS From TripAdvisor. In touch with Khalil, adds and alters itinerary, consulted and advised from Mohamed finally came out with 15 Days trip to Morocco. Travel on 23Feb with 6pax Met Said our driver/guide/photographer upon arrival in Casablanca airport. Immediately we know we are taken care of by a good team with the reliable young guy arranged for data card and money changer all within half an hour. He listened to our feedbacks and concern for every stop and responded , advise safety guide for each city and recommended good restaurants. The Riads that we stayed were beautiful with 90% above satisfaction level with every breakfast a pleasant surprise . Orange plantation was an unexpected bonus tour and we all love it. Going through the 4 seasons with beautiful landscapes in 15days. Visited blue, , white, yellow and red cities with amazing camel rides, overnight experience in Sahara and Quzoud falls with boat ride are especially awesome . Professional local guides in Rabat like Abdo Ali and Chefchaouen-Amina ,the only lady guide in the city tour , we love her professionalism and cheerful attitude very much. Fes-Hassan , Marrakech-Mustapha was also prefect and added even more beauty to this country. A big Thank You to all . Highly recommending Desert Trips to everyone who are going to visit Morocco . Thanks again to Med, Khalil ,Said and all the locals guides …your excellent service provided was awesome making our trip smooth and with good memories throughout. Well done guys and do keep it up . Cheers
We booked the 15 day tour with a slightly modified itinerary. Our group had 2 children (age 9 and 13) and 3 adults. We hit all the sites at a leisurely pace. Our driver Houcine was very friendly, and did his best to make sure we had a great experience. For example, he changed our itinerary a little bit so we can catch the Sunday souk in Rissani. I would recommend this tour to future travellers to Morocco!
Morocco was in our bucket list for quite a while, so when the time came for our dreams to turn into reality; we were excited beyond belief yet a bit hesitant. Morocco is very far from home. Will it be safe? Are the people nice? Will there be any language barrier? With these uncertainties we landed in Casablanca airport. The minute we met up with our driver/tour guide we were left assured that we were in safe hands. Our guide, Addi, at first glance gave us the impression of enthusiasm, willingness to help and above all made us feel right at home. In this 15 day trip, he was nothing short of an angel whenever we were in a dilemma, from 5 am till 12 am, he was present and with a jolly smile. He never gave any indication of irritation on any questions that we asked. (Which were several and repeated!) Overall, he was absolutely a delight to be with and the bond we created will inshallah be everlasting. Again, let us not forget about Khalil, who even though wasn’t present with us, but was always checking up on us, our well being, if we are enjoying our time. It felt like he was travelling with us. This sort of service cannot be bought with any amount of fortune, it comes from the purity and kindness of their hearts. I would blindly recommend anyone in there safe hands while travelling to Morocco. Finally, all o want to say is, what an amazing trip it was and Addi and Khalil made it even better. Shahnaz and family Bangladesh
Had an absolutely amazing time in Morocco with our driver/guide Khalil, plus our Fes guide Hassan and Marrakech guide Mustapha. They made our trip most enjoyable with their jokes, entertained us with stories and brought us to local food joints, eating what Moroccans eat. Especially Khalil, thank you so much for bringing us to watch football at a local cafe, to the beach at Essaouira, and for having an acceptable face so that we only got stopped by the police once only for protocol and for driving within speed limits! Lol... We stayed mostly in riads for the trip and I really enjoyed every aspect, from the beautiful interiors to the very generous delicious breakfasts. A special thank you to Med as well for accommodating our request to cancel the rock climbing and switch to a short half day trek instead. Please choose Desert Trips if you are heading to Morocco!
Khalil is the best ….. he is smart, knowledgeable, funny and caring. He is my little khoya 🥰. Morroco is beautiful and a must see for the bucket list
The best trip we have ever taken!! Our guide/driver Khalil has become like a brother and he treated us as such… We loved our Moroccan experience with Morocco Desert Trips and highly, highly recommend them!!
Best of Morocco in 15 day this tour was truly an amazing experience our adventure started in Casablanca with our knowledgeable tour guide, Khalil He was very kind and friendly. warmly greeting us at the airport. Every morning, Khalil cheerfully described the itinerary of the day. As we traveled He narrated the history and cultural highlights of each region, we were honored to visit an Berber Nomad family tent and while we sipped tea and ate warm bread, We were very pleased with all of the hotels/riads where we stayed. They were all beautiful and staffed by very kind and helpful people. Khalil knew the best places to eat. The food was quite delicious everywhere in Morocco. Morocco is an outstanding place to visit and I Highly recommend Khalil and the team. We will be back. Thanks for such an amazing adventure!
We chose to take a private tour of the Imperial Cities and the Western Sahara with Morocco Desert Trips over 15 days as they allowed us to choose the route and pace. The trip coincided with my 60th birthday and marked our return to international holidays after an eternity of lockdowns. Our local guide and 4WD driver for this 2,200km round trip was Khalil who made the experience very authentic, bringing many aspects of his Berber family heritage and his own personal insights to each of the exotic locations. He also cooks a fantastic Chicken Tagine and carves a mouth-watering melon at the end of those long drives. We also chose to take 2-nights each in the main town's of Chefchaouen, Merzouga, Fes and Marrakech allowing us time to do some independent walks and to sit at the front of coffee shops watching tourists from the other large bus tour groups completing a frantic race between each sightseeing stop. We strolled through the markets of Rissani and Fes, we followed the footsteps of the Romans and French, occasionally got ourselves lost, we drove part of the Paris-Dakkar route, had mint tea with the nomads. Why the rush, go with Morocco Desert Trips and make it a real immersive holiday!
Just came back from Morocco and it was such a memorable trip with DesertTrips Our tour driver/guide Adi was the absolute best. We really have him to thank for making the trip as amazing as it was. Although we were driving a lot, he made the drives fun and had lots of pit stops for us to see different places along the way to the main locations. Adi was born and raised near the desert and was very knowledgeable about the local culture we learned so much about Moroccan life and culture from him. every experience we had in Morocco has been incredible. All accommodations were nice, and staff really went out of their way to make you feel at home we feel that we got such a good glimpse into so many different parts of the country and were able to meet so many people. It is truly an incredible place with an amazing history and culture, I highly recommend this Tour very well organised with professional guides, I was exhausted when I returned home but had an amazing experience and hope to someday return to Morocco!
Best of Morocco in 15 days. This tour was truly an amazing experience. Very authentic. Our tour guide Addi was truly amazing, very informative, very patient and fun to be with he was incredibly knowledgeable, but more importantly personable, he did a wonderful job of catering to our different personalities and balancing what we’d want to see and do given the age differences. The most magical evening was definitely in the desert, this tour does a great job of setting up individual tour guides for the other cities. They were equally engaging, helpful, and enthusiastic. We have absolutely no complaint. The accommodations were terrific, We stayed in riads for the most part and they made the experience even better. The food, hospitality, and beauty was top notch. The best guide/driver I've ever had! (Desert Trips) is a company that I will use again for sure. i would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a safe and reliable tour agency in Morocco! Thank you Addi!
Having Khalil as a driver/tour guide we have seen Morocco from many different angles and a lot more than we imagined. We have seen places and local life that is only possible to see while on a small private tour. Khalil should be cloned and put on every tour. My wife and I highly recommend this tour company. Well done Khalil! Wojtek
Our Morocco tour was perfect from beginning to end. Khalil is a wonderful driver/tour guide that puts his heart into what he does. Tour was perfectly organized with all safety measures and comfort. Khalil really made sure that our vacation was absolutely fabulous in any and every way. My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised how amazing, safe and beautiful this county is and how stunning are the people of Morocco. We definitively felt like we were in kingdom where the visitors are always the priority for the Moroccans. Big thing for my husband and I was to customize few things and that was all done for us flawlessly and at cost value. We had so many amazing experiences and visited incredible amount of places. This entire trip was more than perfect. We highly recommend this Moroccan tour company. Malgorzata
My husband and sister I just visited Morocco from the US, all with a private driver/guide tour. I can’t say enough about how much we loved our itinerary, our driver/guide (Khalil). If you’re so lucky to be paired up with him, you are guaranteed to love your tour and Morocco!! I can’t rave enough. he ensured our trip went so smoothly. We were met at the airport by Khalil, our considerate, thoughtful, funny and entertaining guide. We then spent the next two weeks falling in love with Morocco. We traveled from Casablanca, Rabat, Asilah, Tangier, Tetouan, Chefchauen, Volubilis ruins, Meknes, Fes, Merzouga Desert, dades Valley, Marrakesh, Essaouira, Oualidia, then back to Casablanca airport, The Tour throughout the two weeks were very well-planned and enjoyable, especially visiting the desert and exploring each city with additional local guides who were experts in their area. Camel rides and medina tours are some of our favorite memories. Of course, the desert and bustling cities are amazing, but the people we met along the way and our guide Khalil really made this trip unforgettable!, If you are contemplating a trip to deep in Morocco don’t hesitate to use this Trip, you will not regret it . Thank you Khalil for an unforgettable trip!

Another thing I liked was the airport shuttle service. We had a lot of luggage and our guide Adi was more than helpful with our luggage...not just at the airport, but throughout the trip. our driver/guide,. Adi was very knowledgeable about all the sights and cities we visited. He was discussing history and telling us stories about Morocco. He was recommending excellent restaurants and shopping. We also had excellent private local guides in Fes, and Marrakech, These guides showed us many important historical sites as well as the best places to shop...places where you can buy authentic handicrafts, as some shops in Morocco, this trip itinerary was absolutely Highlights of Morocco, I each riad or hotel we stayed at during the tour was a perfect choice by company the highlights of the accomodation were the luxury desert camp and Riads, but all of the Hotels were wonderful! We had a very pleasant and safe family trip throughout Morrocco for 15 days with the best driver/guide Adi. He’s very kind and guided us really well. He helped us with everything we needed and drove safely all the time. We had fun with him and even the long hours in the car became something pleasent. the trip was very well scheduled and the choice of riads and hotels remarkable. the itinerary considering all our needs and places we wanted (Casablanca - Rabat - Asilah - Tangier- Tetouan - Chefchauen - Volubilis/Maknès - Fez - Merzouga Desert - Quarzazate - Marrakech - Essaouira - El Jadida) and it was amazing. In Fez and Marrakech we had different guides take us through the city. Both of these guides were excellent and gave us options to see what we wanted to see. We Love camel riding and the luxury tent experience, enjoy watching stars all over the sky and singing and dancing with all people. We left Morocco with a greater understanding of this exotic country. Visiting the blue city of Chefchaouen, experiencing the mayhem of the souks in Marrakech and riding camels across the Sahara desert are just a few of the memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Adi for taking us an this amazing journey through your country, I strongly recommend!!!
My recent trip to Morocco was simply unforgettable, an experience that I will cherish forever. Thanks to the perfect organization of DesertTrips, everything has been taken care of in every detail, allowing me to fully enjoy this incredible adventure. Communication was smooth and timely, and I really appreciated their ability to adapt quickly to changes. I had the chance to visit the most iconic places in Morocco. Each stop was a dive into the history and spirit of this vibrant and cosmopolitan country. The hotels and riads they proposed were perfect both in terms of location and in terms of the quality of the rooms, it allowed me to move easily to all the main attractions. In addition, the agency was able to integrate in the package very useful services, such as guided tours and tips on how to better organize my days. Another element that made the trip perfect was Hssaine driver/guide, who guided me with competence, lightness and a lot of humanity. He was always present and knew how to make me feel free and at the center of my journey. With his enthusiasm and passion he made me experience Morocco not as tourists, but as real travelers. Morocco is a country that never sleeps, yet, thanks to this impeccable organization, I managed to live everything without stress, with the feeling of always having the time necessary to discover and appreciate every detail.
