We did a 8 day tour visiting the key attractions of the country (Marrakesh, Desert, Fez, Chefchaouen, Casablanca) in a private van. The distances were large but very well planned. Stays and wonderful hotels. Very good communication with the tour operator. Definitively recommended if you want a hassle free tour of the country.

Two of us booked a private tour with Camel Safaries, after both of my adult children had a wonderful experience with them. From Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara and then the Coast, we had a great trip. Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly and they showed us much we would have never seen on our own. Camel Safaries is a first class operation and we would recommend them highly.
The very best reviews for this company and its guide Nordine! We were provided with an 8-day trip around Morocco that included airport pick-up/transfer, accommodation, breakfast, as well as three dinners, an overnight stay in the desert, a camel ride, and many other activities according to a personalised itinerary. Most importantly, throughout the entire trip we were accompanied by the guide Nordine, who is excellent and knowledgeable in his field! A big thank you.
We went to most amazing trip that melted our Nordic hearts. We got everything included in our trip package, local guide Nordine started by looking in our flight in flight radar to get us on time from airport. Then he took us to the most wounderfull and beautifull Riad in Marraketch. We got local guide next day and after that our trip with Toyota Land Cruiser begun for about 1800km in Morocco till the dunes in Sahara desert. We got most amazing experiance with Nordine, he gave us local names - Ali and Fatima for easy call in our trip. We stayed in places that in Google reviews got 4,9 and 5 stars only. Absolute the best trip and we strongly suggest this company. If something they definately will get rid of any problem. I can give only 5 stars for this trip!
Morocco is like a magnet, a place that always calls me back, and I still can't get enough of it. I am returning to Morocco for the fourth time, and every time, I feel like I am coming back home. Morroco speaks and appeals to me through the taste buds, the lush colors, through the majesty of its mountains, through the vast soul of the ocean, through the endless expanses of the desert, through the starry night sky, through the ever-changing nature, through fables and fairy tales, through tradition and culture, through hospitality, openness and generosity, through absolute simplicity, acceptance, through peace, gratitude and trust. But what makes this trip unforgettable is the people we spend it with, and here I have to say a very huge thank to Camel Safaries (Ali Oussou, Mohammed Amraoui, and previous times Mohammed Mazzouz as well) who made our dreams come true. When travelling with Camel Safaries, we always feel welcomed and taken care of, and even though I'm travelling with these guys for the fourth time, each time is full of pleasant surprises. Thank you, Camel Saffaries, for letting us see Morocco through your eyes. 🤍
The tour was perfectly planned, combining visits to must-see places of Morocco with peaceful and relaxed leisure. We saw it all- busy night life of Marakesh, sunset and sunrise in the desert 🐪, shooting stars in the perfectly dark sky🌠, coastal pearl - Essaouira 🐟and many other beautiful places. From the first minute till the last- our guides were taking excellent care of our well-being. After this trip I'm certain that I want to see more of Morocco, the first impression was just gorgeous 🤩
I think this is my first Tripadvisor review, and I am writing it because Camel Safaries was simply exceptional! I can’t recommend this group highly enough — Ali, Hassan and Mohamed went above and beyond throughout our 2-week visit. We traveled comfortably by bus to many key cities of Morocco including Marrakech, the Sahara, Chefchaouen, Fes and Essaouira. The accommodations (usually beautifully decorated riads) were absolutely gorgeous, and Ali taught us so much about the country as we drove from one area to another. In larger cities like Marrakech and Fes, Camel Safaries arranged for local guides, who were excellent. The magical sunset camel ride and sumptuous overnight camp in the Sahara were highlights for all of us. It happened to be my mother’s 85th birthday, and Camel Safaries surprised her with a cake (in the Sahara, mind you!) as we dined in style under the stars. Sunrise in the dunes the next morning was breathtaking. Thank you especially to Ali for making this trip so special!
Ali Oussou planned a comprehensive and wonderful tour of Morroco for our group of 6 couples. Accommodation were outstanding and inside the Medinas. We had a dedicated van and driver. Our guide, Mohamed, was knowledgeable on history, culture, traditions and geography of Morroco. He was there for us ALL the time making us feel safe. He gave us great recommendation on handling vendors while being sensitive to their economic needs and that they all were fasting for Ramadan. I even got a surprise birthday cake and happy birthday in 4 different languages. What a treat!! Thank you for our wonderful and safe trip.
We had a truly unique Experience with Camel Safaris whom we hired to create an itinerary for our family trip to Morocco. Our tour lasted 9 days and we voyaged across Morocco from Casablanca to Rabat to Fes, across the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert, back across the mountains to Marrakech and Essaouira and then back to Casablanca, all by car. Khalid, our guide, was with us every step of the way. He greeted us with fresh dates at the airport and provided gracious hospitality all throughout the trip making sure that we felt safe and comfortable and that our travels were easy. He shared with us so much about his country, culture and people, and arranged specific local guides for tours of markets and historic sites in many of the cities we visited. Camel Safaris arranged for great meals at traditional Moroccan restaurants as well as beautiful riad accommodations throughout our trip. We were also able to visit with a number of traditional producers of bread, argan oil, rose oil, pottery and rugs, including women's cooperatives. Walking in the dunes of the Sahara, visiting the bustling fish market in Essaouira, the UNESCO tannery in Fes and traversing the Atlas mountains and plains stand out as true highlights of our trip. It would have been impossible for us to cover this much ground and have such an authentic experience without Camel Safaris and Khalid - so many thanks again for a trip of a lifetime!
The whole trip was just an amazing experience! Thank you for all the things we could see and experience. Very professional but also very friendly Mohamed who let us see the beauty of the Morrocan landscapes, not just highway 🙂 🙏 Magic country. Great price for everything, very safe and comfortable. We spend an amazing 5 days and already feeling the need to come back and organize another trip/route. Thank you again! Believe me not even 400 photos not enough 🙂
Legit the best private tour possible. Mohammed was polite, helpful, charming, accomodating - even took us for traditional lunch to his family home. We had some payment issues and Ali/Mohammed helped us rejig our payment options as per our convenience. Cannot recommend more. If there's an agency you want to choose, it is this.
My family and I scheduled our tour through Camel Safaries. The owner, Ali, was very responsive in our communications, and extremely helpful in planning our route. What a great experience, especially, for my children. Our tour guide, Mohammed, took great care of us. He was not only knowledgeable, but very kind and patient. He was very flexible with our time during the trip. The desert portion of the trip and meeting local families was one favorite. My children were thrilled to play a quick game of soccer with the local children. The camel trek in the dunes of the Erg Chebbi (Sahara Desert), and overnight stay at the luxury camp was beautiful and exciting. We also spent another day visiting the areas around the desert and stayed at a hotel-kasbah that was right on the edge of the dunes. Our tour started in Casablanca and we visited Fes, the desert, Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Essaouira which is on the coast, and flew out of Marrakech. Essaouira, Dades Gorge with awesome hiking around the "monkey fingers", and Marrakech were favorites. The Jemaa el-Fna Square in Marrakech was so unique,; the souks, entertainment in the square. We even did a food tasting tour. The tour was an enriching, educational experience as well. We didn't have enough time to visit many areas in the north (Chefchaouen and Tangier) nor southern coast, Agadr, Mirleft, and Safi. Maybe, on a future trip? I highly recommend this local tour operator. It will be an experience you will never forget.
Huge thanks to Camel Safaries and most especially Khalid for guiding us off through some of the finest places in Morocco, including many off the beaten track. We are a family of five – two adults and three kids (aged 16, 13 and 11) - just back from a wonderful 8 day adventure from Essaouira to the Sahara desert (Merzouga) and back to Marrakech. It was our first time in Morocco and we were very keen to get to know the country. From the start we felt in good hands. Ali listened to our needs and was extremely responsive to us on email as he proposed ideas for our trip. Khalid allowed us to sit back and take in Morocco. To be driven cross country with him was an immense pleasure. He is an extremely careful driver, was very attentive to our needs, answered all of our questions, sharing his experience and knowledge with us. Khalid was great with the kids. One of our first purchases was a football and he made sure that the kids had plenty of opportunities to kick it around. The Riads that Camel Safaries choose for us were delightful. As vegetarian parents with carnivore kids, we appreciated the efforts that Ali and Khalid made to accommodate our needs. We look forward to coming back to exploring the north of Morocco with Camel Safaries!
So grateful for such magical time in Morocco. Ali helped us truly see so much and each and every experience was truly the best! It truly felt like we have family in Morocco for all of needs and requests. Give thanks to our amazing guide Khalid who seemlessly guided us through such an amazing and magical place. So much love! Thank you!!
What an amazing trip to Morocco! Camel Safaries went above and beyond to accomodate our specific itinerary! Ali runs the most professional and kind and generous business in all of Morocco. He went out of his way for us over and over to make sure we accomplished everything we wanted to see in his beautiful country. Our guide Khalid was a warm and gentle soul, so knowledgeable about all of the sites and locations we visited. He introduced us to many local people in every village and was amazing at translating for us when we needed the help. We felt safe and certain with him at every turn in the road...and we spent hours driving all over the country! Book your trip with Camel Safaries without a doubt in mind and you will not regret it!
Wonderful experience! I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with this group. My guide was absolutely fabulous, knowledgeable and very thoughtful. The driver was careful and very attentive to the group I was traveling with. If I could give 10 stars, I would. While on this trip in March of 2020, we got caught in Covid lockdown. Our driver and guide were very quick to act and got us back from the desert to Marrakesh in time for the first day of curfew. For something that could’ve been quite scary and alarming, it was a very positive experience.
The trip was really wonderful. Ali the Tour guide did a super job of putting together this itinerary for us. He suggested staying in some Riad’s and he was right. We loved the mix of lovely hotels and Riad’s also. Our driver was there to pick us up and delivered us from hotels to Riad’s and was a safe driver getting us everywhere. Frankly, we were amazed at his driving skills and how he was able to accomplish this feat!!! Ali did a great job of showing us his country and finding the best places to stop for food (amazing food!!) and anything else we wanted. His enthusiasm was infectious and we would highly recommend him to anyone. All in all, a very memorable trip
My husband and I booked Camel Safaries' 19-day private tour to Morocco in Dec 2019 for our honeymoon. We contacted Ali who was so responsive with our questions and prepared us with an itinerary covering the major cities of Morocco including Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara, Marrakech and Essaouira. Ali arranged all our accomodations in advance (they were out of our expectations!) and our trip was entirely hassle-free! We had the chance to live in local riads (which were absolutely stunning!) and visit nomads in the Sahara. We believe these are the ways to experience the real Morocco. The local guides arranged by Camel Safaries were all very professional, knowledgeable and not pushy (in trying to get us to purchase anything) at all. The camel ride and overnight camp (with the starry sky and amazing sunrise right above the horizon) in the Sahara is a must-try! Definitely leaves unforgettable memories for our honeymoon! Our journey would never be the same without our driver - Youssef. Youssef is very reliable and responsible. Always helped with our bags and making sure we are comfortable in the car and in our accomodations. He is also very funny and shared with us lots about Morocco. We also appreciate very much his attention to details - how he secretly arranged a cake for me on my birthday! He also brought us to try different local cuisines which never disappoint us and introduced us nice hiking spots in the Ourika Valley area. We are grateful to travel with Youssef who is more a friend than driver to us* [: Thanks a lot Camel Safaries - particularly Ali and Youssef - for giving us this amazing and lifelong memorable trip. This is value for money and would definitely recommend it for our friends and family!
I rarely write a review, but this time I can't stop expressing my self telling you that you will be flattered with camel safaries. Traveling with a such company is worthy, ali, Mohamed are professional and human. They give a very nice image of Morocco. Thank you guys!!
We spent 9 days 8 nights in Morocco with our guide, Khalid. Khalid was an excellent guide, very polite, welcoming and friendly. He is incredibly knowledgeble and knows Morocco very well. He constantly shared his knowledge of the places we visited and passed by and we’ve learnt a lot about Morocco from him. He has great command of English, which makes interaction with easy, fun and comfortable. Khalid was caring and attentive to the group. He never fail to help us with our luggages and with getting in and out of the car at every stop. Along the trip, he gave us appropriate suggestion to tweak our itinerary based on our condition, needs and preferences. For example, he suggested that instead of spending a night at Imlil and doing a hike at Imlil the next day (which we were quite tired to do so), we could spend another night at Marrakech and do a day trip to Essaouira. This turned out to be a better itinerary for us. The tour itself was amazing and we went to places that we otherwise would not have visited on our own. The tour also arranged local tour guides to walk us around the medina of each city, which is great as the local tour guides have deeper knowledge to share of their own cities. The desert stay was a highlight of the tour. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend anyone to do Morocco with Khalid as your guide.
Camel safari reviews I’m not one to write reviews(especially good ones haha) but I give credit when due and we hit gold with Khalid as our driver cum guide for his great hospitality, service and responsibility. We had some issues with our trip: from our arrival flight delay, people falling ill, hotel accommodation and staff, and delayed travel schedule due to other transfers (all these independent of the tour agency) but Khalid was with us all the way, looking after our needs and being ready with suggestions with the flexibility to move things around. Driving on the road in Morroco isn’t easy, the roads are windy and drivers think they’re in Formula 1/ you wonder where they bought their license from. Compliments to Khalid on ensuring our safety on those long drives while keeping us entertained with the many sights along the way so we didn’t feel like we were wasting time with those drives (the jokes he cracked deserves a shout-out here). It is one thing about having a tour guide who just loads you with historical information you pretend you’re interested in and then there’s Khalid. He was open enough for us to ask questions about the changing cultural landscape from the past till now and was always happy to help us understand things better and satisfy our curiosity. One of the things that we would hear him repeat during the trip was that ‘you need to tell me if there’s something wrong if not I won’t leave’. We’re pretty easygoing nd seasoned travellers so we sometimes let minor discomforts/ issues with accommodation slide(some of the hotel arrangements by the agency itself was questionable so please please check and do your own due diligence!!!!!) Khalid assured us that no issue was too small and was quick to get things resolved. One of the highlights of the trip was stopping to have tea with a nomadic family in the sand dunes when we were along the way to the Sahara desert. Seeing how we were very curious about how the locals live in the desert, he found a family that was open to hosting us. While we didn’t understand the family and vice versa, Khalid facilitated the conversation (alongside our use of basic hand signs), and was able to give us a glimpse into the lives of how the locals lived there. We all know how irritating tourists can be but this was done in a respectful and non-intrusive manner. All in all- we were happy we had Khalid with us (hope he felt the same with our multiple requests) so would recommend asking for him if using the agency. Morroco’s definitely a once in a lifetime experience so make sure you have a great guide with you to make the most of your experience! We were a group of 5 friends.
The guide, Khalid assigned to us spoke well English, hence there is no language barrier. This is so important, because of no communication breakdown we are able to converse well and also experience more of Morocco history and culture ! He was very knowledgeable, I do enjoy the culture and history he had explained to us during the driving journey. It indeed give us more insight and better understanding of Morocco. Being a He is very friendly and helpful. He had been very patient with us, he never once show a black face. He always check on us if we are alright, make sure we had a good rest. He will listen to our feedback and try to help us as much as possible. He try his best to fulfill our request, such as stopping by for pharmacy, money changer and also random visiting a Berber family when in the Sahara Desert. This was the best experience we had, able to come close to the local and had a little tea break there. We enjoyed this Morocco trip very much , if not for the disatisfaction of some of the accommodation arrangement planned for us, if not everything will be wonderful trip and experience for us. Being a guide and driver at same time surely not easy for anyone ! Khalid good attitude and helpfulness indeed make the whole trip so much pleasant.
Last June we travelled to Fes, Sahara desert, Dades valley and Marrakech. Youssef, our guide and driver was kind, sweet And funny. He drove us safely all over Morocco and answered all questions about culture and moroccan life we made. In Fes, our sweetest guide Hajar did such a good job explaining everything for us about life in Fes. They made all efforts to keep all details perfect. I definitely recommend traveling with Camel Safaries
We are a group of friends from Mallorca, we have spent 9 days in Morocco and we cannot be more grateful to Ali, Moha and Ibrahim for having made this trip unforgettable. I contacted Ali to make this trip and he provided me with all the necessary help to map out the route, book riads and other accommodations and provided me with the best driver and guide we could have had. I trusted Ali without knowing him and he turned out to be a serious person in his work, responsible and concerned at all times to know how we were doing day by day on our journey to the end. Thanks Ali, without you this trip would not have been the same. Our experience in the desert has far exceeded all our expectations. Driver Ibrahim speaks hardly any Spanish. At first he seemed very serious and quiet but soon, if only by signs he made himself understood and was very funny and affectionate with all of us. He is a very good driver, with the Atlas all snowed in and the wet road had awe-inspiring safety. We were very quiet traveling with him. And last thing to say about our guide Moha. Moha's already our friend, he's our family. He's an endearing person who has won our hearts. He has taught us his culture and explained his beliefs. We have known firsthand how to live in the desert. Everything is very different from what we are used to, a tremendous contrast that draws much attention. We have been dizzy all the way, asking and asking, we wanted to know everything about their culture and their day to day. He has had a lot of patience with us and has met all our needs. He opened his heart to us and we fell in love with him. We want you to put a bikini on your young daughters and take them to Essaouira beach but there has been no way to convince you. She'll take them to the beach one day, but the bikini thing doesn't seem appropriate in any way. We'll have to go back to keep trying. Thank you Moha for your generosity, for your patience and for giving us the best trip of our lives. Morocco is pure life, full of friendly people and hard-to-forget landscapes. Crossing the Atlas has been continuous excitement. Behind the Atlas you breathe PEACE, there is no stress, there is no anxiety, there is no rush. People are happy, they live quietly and help each other. The desert dunes, the color of the sand, the sunrise light, the quad bike ride. It was all so beautiful! I can’t fail to mention the New Year’s Eve night at the castle of a thousand and one nights (Dar Blues). Accommodation that is carried by a couple of guys who are both in the reception and in the kitchen or serving at tables and also beat the drum. It was a very special night, and the cake that they took out after 12h a whole spectacle. They beat the drum, danced with us and made our night more joyful. We started in Marrakech, went to the desert and ended up in Essaouira, another beautiful village. I highly recommend traveling with Camel Safaris. The trip will be unforgettable.
We decided to make our honeymoon, with our children, to Morocco and we can not choose better. It has been a fantastic few days, our guide Hassan has been very attentive throughout and has given us his wisdom of his land. And Ali's always on the lookout for everything. We come home delighted! No doubt if we have to repeat we will choose Camel safaries without thinking. Thank you so much for everything!)
My boyfriend and I chose Camel Safaries for our trip to Morocco, and we could not make a better choice!! Our tour was organized in detail by Ali, who was always available and present for anything. Our guide Rafa was exceptional!! He took care of us, making us live Morocco in an authentic and carefree way. We always felt safe in his company, and he always made sure that everything was perfect. We can only recommend Camel Safaries, and specifically our Rafa guide. We will definitely choose Camel Safaries for our next trip to Morocco:) Giulia and Matteo
On the recommendation of a friendly couple, we started and maintained contact via WhatsApp throughout the trip with Ali, who always served us kindly. Excellent service received from the very attentive and kind guide Mohammed Oalibou and the very good and responsible driver Mohammed Amraoui. Both were always punctual, available and concerned about meeting our expectations, which were exceeded. The entire route was covered in a Toyota Prado 4x4. We are very demanding and we definitely recommend this company, serious and reliable, as it served us in everything that was contracted.
I found Camel Safari searching the internet. Ali, the owner, responded immediately to the number of whatsapp, after sending me information by email I decided to book leaving a deposit. Mohamed, who was our driver for 4 days, was really great! Friendly, punctual and always ready to help us. My husband and I chose a 3 night and 4 day tour with round trip to Marrakech with desert direction (erg chebbi). We were pleasantly amazed at the variety of landscapes encountered. Having chosen the luxury option we always had great and clean accommodations. We highly recommend to anyone who wants to go on a tour of Morocco to turn to Camel Safari! Bianca and Andrea
We have done a 4 day couples getaway with Camel Safaris, the attention from the first moment of Ali has been amazing and throughout the trip with guide Assou and driver Abraham we have been able to enjoy every upaso in the country, they are wonderful and super attentive!! The Riad de l’Orientale in Marrakech second to none, Abdu and Latifa super friendly and attentive!! In the Valley of Dades the Riad Gabsi brutal, dinner was amazing..they kept bringing dishes and everything homemade and made by them, even the breakfast jam was!! The camp of Mohayut in Merzouga beautiful! I would only recommend asking for accommodation options in Haima as you arrive late, it is cold and it is the only thing they should be more careful for the arrival time of the guests as you spend many hours traveling craving the arrival to the spectacular Erg Chebbi!! The desert is brutal!!! The count of everything is 10!!! Super recommended !!! We have done it on private tour and it has been an unforgettable trip!!
