From the moment I arrived, the experience was a succession of disappointments, poor service, and a complete lack of attention to detail. Let’s start with the welcome. I arrived carrying my suitcase while two staff members stood there watching me. Neither offered to help with my luggage, nor did anyone bother to open the door. Quite the first impression for a supposedly five-star establishment. Then came the delightful surprise of discovering that the hotel was undergoing renovations — something that was conveniently never mentioned when I booked. Yet, the hotel had absolutely no hesitation in making my reservation non-refundable. Apparently, transparency is optional, but payment is not. At reception, I had to make three separate visits simply to have my husband added to the reservation. Three visits for what should have been a straightforward administrative request. Each time, I was left wondering why something so basic required so much effort. The lobby constantly smelled of cigarette smoke, making it an unpleasant place to sit, relax, or enjoy a drink. Housekeeping was equally disappointing. We had to request that our room be cleaned every single day. Otherwise, it simply wouldn’t get done. And even when the room was serviced, the towels weren’t changed. Since when did basic housekeeping become an optional service that guests need to chase? The bar experience was another lesson in patience. We sat down hoping to enjoy a simple cup of tea, only to wait 25 minutes just for someone to approach us and ask what we wanted. Not 25 minutes to receive our order. Twenty-five minutes to even place it. On another occasion, we returned late at night to find the reception completely unattended, with nobody available to assist us. But beyond all these individual failures, what disappointed me most was the complete misunderstanding of what hospitality is supposed to be. In exceptional hospitality, the staff should be almost invisible, yet their presence should be felt in every detail of the experience. The best service is effortless. Your needs are anticipated, everything runs smoothly, and you never have to think about the work happening behind the scenes. The staff shine through the experience they create, not through their visibility. At the Hyatt Regency Casablanca, the staff have certainly mastered the art of being invisible — unfortunately, quite literally. They’re nowhere to be found when you need them. And on the rare occasions when I did manage to get someone’s attention, the attitude made me regret asking in the first place. Rather than feeling welcomed or looked after, I was made to feel as though every request was an inconvenience. There is nothing luxurious about having to repeatedly ask for housekeeping, chase reception to complete a simple request, or wait endlessly to be acknowledged at a bar. True luxury isn’t about marble floors, an impressive lobby, or a recognizable international brand. It’s about making guests feel effortlessly cared for. What makes this experience particularly frustrating is that none of my expectations were unreasonable. I wasn’t asking for exceptional treatment, personalized surprises, or anything remotely extravagant. I was asking for doors to be opened, rooms to be cleaned, towels to be changed, requests to be handled, and staff to be available and courteous. These are not five-star privileges. They are the bare minimum of hospitality. The irony is that the staff somehow managed to be both absent when needed and unpleasant when approached. Quite an achievement for a hotel that positions itself in the luxury segment. My overall impression? A hotel that seems far more committed to charging five-star prices than delivering five-star service. The Hyatt Regency Casablanca has the branding of a luxury hotel, but my experience was anything but luxurious. Until management addresses these fundamental service failures, I would struggle to recommend it to anyone expecting the standards normally associated with the Hyatt name.

I had a pleasant stay at Hyatt Regency Casablanca, particularly appreciating the excellent location, as it is conveniently situated near the Old Medina and is a good choice for a short or business trip. The staff and reception team were very friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay, which made the experience enjoyable. However, I felt that some of the room furniture and interiors looked a little dated and could benefit from an update. Personally, when staying at a luxury hotel, I expect a more modern and refined feel, especially from a Hyatt Regency property. The overall experience was good, but the rooms did not quite match the level of luxury and modern standard I had expected from the brand. Overall, it is a convenient and comfortable option for business travellers or a short stay, with excellent staff and a very good location. With some refurbishment and modernization of the rooms, I believe the hotel could offer a much stronger luxury experience.
Pool day pass — everything was great overall. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. One thing people should be aware of, especially for those who can’t swim, is that the pool is quite deep, around 2 meters, if I remember correctly. The only downside was that the sun loungers/beds were not completely clean, and I noticed some mild mold on them. This isn’t healthy and definitely shouldn’t be the case, so I hope this can be addressed.
My first time visiting Morocco was truly memorable, and our stay at Hyatt Regency Casablanca from 28/04/26 to 01/05/26 made the trip even more special. The hotel is now my favourite hotel. The location was excellent, safe, and very convenient, with easy access to the Old Medina of Casablanca, as well as many nearby restaurants and cafés. The room and amenities were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food at the hotel restaurants during the past few days. The reception team, security guards, housekeeping staff, and all hotel staff provided outstanding service throughout our stay. I would especially like to commend two wonderful staff members, Oumaima and Hamdi, for their professionalism and exceptional hospitality. Oumaima impressed us greatly with her warmth and attention to detail. She remembered the type of coffee and tea we liked, always greeted us with a big smile, and was consistently polite and welcoming. She also shared helpful information about Morocco, including places to visit and sightseeing recommendations, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Hamdi was also extremely friendly and helpful. He was always there whenever we needed assistance and gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat, as well as advice on places that were unsafe to visit. His kindness and helpfulness made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Casablanca has become one of my favourite cities, and I will definitely come back again in the future.
I’ve traveled to many places across different countries, but this hotel truly stands out as one of the best I’ve experienced. From the exceptional service and delicious food to its perfect location, everything exceeded my expectations. What impressed me the most, however, was the staff—they are genuinely amazing. Kind, helpful, and incredibly attentive, they often offer assistance even before you think to ask. Their generosity and professionalism made a lasting impression. I would especially like to thank Zakaria, who went above and beyond in every way. He did far more than what one would normally expect, and his dedication made my stay even more memorable. What truly sets this hotel apart, beyond its outstanding service, food, and location, is its people. Their warmth and care inspired me to write this review—something I never do.
