Lydia was outstanding. She gave us the historical perspective of the fortification and gave us several suggestions of things to do in the area. She could not have been more helpful.
Excellent personal tour exploring the rich history of the medieval city. Olivia is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions.
For anyone who’s interested in the history of Carcassonne and the Catharsis/crusades! I would definitely recommend!
Our guide was Absolutely amazing ! I would not have wanted another! All the shops were so amazing! 10/10
Olivia was very knowledgeable and fun. I would highly recommend her for your tour! Merci beaucoup !!
This is charming fun story developed by our very well informed guide. He used the evidence in the walls of Carcassonne to illustrate the story of its different purposes and many different rulers.
Our guide was a delightful young woman. She knew her history of the Medieval City. Were most impressed with how she moved us through the citadel and ended our tour at a very scenic overlook.
Great tour! Lydia was very pleasant, knowledgeable, spoke good English and was easy to be with. We learned a lot about the history of Carcassonne and the area. Highly recommend this tour and her as a tour guide.
It was chilly and drizzly but Olivia did her best to make us forget the weather as she shared the fascinating history of Carcassonne with our little group.
Carcassonne is unmissable and Remi was a great guide . Would definitely recommend this trip . Make sure you see the castle and walk the ramparts .
We had a very informative tour with Olivia. The wind was fierce, but that did not detract from our experience. We are from Australia, and never have we encountered buildings so ancient with so much history.
An excellently knowledgeable guide. We gained historical perspective with every discovery. Our family had a wonderful time.
Magnificent castle. Tour was very informative and brought us through the thousands of years of history of Carcassonne.
Nathalie was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Whole process went very smoothly. Would recommend.
This was an absolutely wonderful tour and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wishing to learn about the medieval city. Our guide (Lydia) was incredibly knowledgeable (56-1) and this, added to her engaging and entertaining presentational style, meant that we learnt so much about a fascinating city and the history that surrounds it. Thank You!!!
My husband and I met with Olivia for a walking tour of Carcassonne. Olivia shared her passion for this fascinating fortress and helped make Carcassonne come alive. My husband is a history buff and Olivia patiently answered all of his many questions and engaged us in a lively discussion through the tour. She also advised were we could have a fabulous lunch and made suggestions about a nearby place to visit that was well worth the time. We would highly recommend this tour for all age groups
Olivia was charming and enthusiastic ! She brought the medieval fortified city to life and had excellent knowlege of the subject matter. We would recommend her tour to family and friends !
What a great experience. Our guide is lovely and hugely knowledgeable. It was fascinating and thoroughly engaging. She’s a lovely lady :)
Olivia has great knowledge, great English and lovely personality. She was very patient and made it a personal experience.
What can l say, well, big smile, right on time, very informative, lt seems like this is not only work but passion for Roman and Gothic Achitecture, Medieval history, l have learned a lot, thank You much'
We had amazing tour of the city. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave great information about the entire city. Wonderful tour!
Our guide, Olivia, was very competent and pedagogical. She was Aldo Good in meeting the questions both from the children and from the adults. We had a great time!
Olivia was a great guide! It was a very hot day and she kept us in the shade as we learned the long history of Carcassonne. I highly recommend it!
Tour of the ramparts by small train is more than enough The inside of the ramparts is spoiled by the multitude of merchants, some of whom want to sell you products from China and others are artisans whose products are overpriced! Otherwise, the multitude of restaurants and bars distorts the spirit of a historical visit. Big disappointment 😞
Beautiful place so well preserved. The ramparts are amazing and the city is full of shops and restaurants. Plan a day to walk around.
Must see in Aude 11 , the city of Carcassonne with lots of walking in the city but br ezi memories after this visit
Great site, full of history. The numerous renovations make the discovery of this city even more interesting. Many souvenir shops, many restaurants, everything is there for a beautiful day Do not hesitate to register for guided tours, some of which take place at night.
Majestic quote from Carcassonne. Beautiful walk in the cobblestone alleys and a plate of gambas on the square in a great brewery
Very nice place worth the detour, back in the Middle Ages, really to see at least once. We just have the Impression of being disconnected from everything...
Always seduced by this beautiful city. We went there this year as part of the festival. I did not give four stars because this year there are many scaffolding for the repair of the ramparts and it does not facilitate shooting. This year the city is pleasant under the sun because it is not too hot, but watch out for the wind. The visit of the castle is interesting.
A real pleasure, the guided tour deserves its price, an exceptional guide, smiling and passionate A plethora of anecdotes and continuous pleasure for an hour Thank you very much 👌🏻
Very beautiful city but very expensive The visit to the city can be done in 3 hours without rushing. Unfortunately not made for people with mobility issues because everything is made of magnificent cobblestones but nothing is made for rolling.
It is a very good place to visit and spend a morning visiting its streets. Special recommendation to eat at the Cafe de Lucien restaurant. It has a €14 menu that includes a salad, a local dish known as Casoulete que and a dessert, drink not included. It is one of the most recommended in the area. There is a very large area that can be visited for free, and then there is the paid area, but if you dedicate yourself to thoroughly visiting the area that is free, you will find it very satisfactory, but it is important to get lost in its alleys. In order to park for free you have to walk around the lower part of the castle a few times. There is parking upstairs next to one of the entrances, but it is very expensive. There is another parking lot down next to the bridge that is cheaper, but if you walk around the streets near that parking lot, there are free parking options.
1st Sunday of the month free self-guided tour 3euros Very nice visit to a magnificent place full of magic Splendid views To do again without moderation
Excelente tour, Nathaly fue excelente, una gran explicación y duro el tiempo justo, propongo que se avise que no incluye la entrada al castillo desde la compra
I recommend visiting the castle and its ramparts. It’s beautiful. Certainly a bit tiring to go up and down the stairs, I had the 91-year-old grandpa with me but he loved it. Then around the city. Attractive and clean. I'll start over and build the outer walls. Go ahead!!!
walking tour of the city , very nice well maintained city , full of small shops , small flat: the little train!!!! expensive to go around the city TO AVOID!!!!!!!!
Exciting visit with Olivia, my private guide, of the city of Carcassonne: very interesting comments, well put into historical perspective, many anecdotes also that make the visit very lively. I highly recommend it.
I haven't been there in years, as beautiful as I've ever seen. Only flaw for there is now so many restaurant, cbd shops or virtual reality. No relation to this place
A stopover city on the way to our holidays , really happy to have discovered it because this city is beautiful and unique! Beautiful thing on every corner.
Very pretty, castle and ramparts to visit! City maintained with many very clean and free public toilets as a bonus
Exotic. Nice fortress where walks are pleasant. Be sure to put on comfortable shoes, the streets are paved and sloping.
On July 15, we visited our beautiful city. What a surprise when two men dressed as buffoons passed us beautiful medieval dresses with refined lace over the head. July 15 is a day that pays tribute to the splendid theatre of the city. A surprise was waiting for us. A medieval spectacle just for us because we were the 10,000 th visitors to penetrate these high walls. We will never forget those fabulous moments when we were pampered and loved throughout that day when we became Wonderful Liles. Les Liles
Excellent day and night you can walk around the medieval city. Very nice this picturesque village. Beautiful stained glass windows in the church of St Nazaire XII XIII and exceptional statuary.
Visit made on 24.11.19 in good weather and 15°! At that time, there were no guided tours but the possibility of audiograms. The castle and the walls are impressive restoration. Take your time to see all the details. Fortunately, there were few people. On the other hand, during the summer and the crowds, it must be hell, right from the parking lot then considering the narrowness and slopes of the alleys not to mention all those shops / shops that "pollute" a little.
Superb hiking with Olivia (a companion always with the little care)! I recommend it! Dialogues always interesting and super knowledge of the region! We will come back, for sure!!! Happy continuation Olivia! Jeremy and Anne Laure
