- Incredible location in the medieval citadel! - Rooms are very nice but the electrical wiring needs an upgrade: Switch off the main light switch in the bedroom and most of the plug sockets stop working so you can’t have a fan on during the night or charge any devices. - Breakfast was included and was excellent especially the fresh bread. - Check out and baggage transfer to the taxi pick up point outside the citadel walls was very disappointing. We checked out at 10:30 having reserved a taxi for 10:40. We walked the ten minutes to the taxi pick up and arrived on time as had our taxi. Our baggage didn’t show up until 11:00. The taxi driver said he’d leave if he didn’t start the meter. We called the hotel and they said the baggage would be along shortly but was several minutes late. They also said the taxi driver would only start the meter once we were in the taxi but that wasn’t the case as he would have left for another job unless he could start the meter. The hotel delay bringing the bags meant we paid €19 for the taxi, €13 of which were for the wait. As far as I’m concerned the hotel owes us this amount and should refund us. - Otherwise the hotel staff and general vibe are very charming.

Great room , hotel and service. Car parking was easy but needs to be sent to customer before arriving. Horrible pillows and towels. Dated and worn, absolutely not good enough for a high end hotel and need to be changed out. Would not stay again due to this as it affected our sleep.
Lovely hotel right inside the city walls, with views of the castle from your window. Super comfy bed, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Only small downside was having the toilet and bathroom separate. Very easy to navigate Carcassonne.
Marvelous hotel! Nice rooms, parking outside the city but easy walk to the hotel, and they will bring your bags to your room. IN SPRING IF IT IS WARM THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING. Air conditioner is only available in summer.
A Unique Affordable Medival Adventure. The hotel lives up to its name with its medieval decor. The location in the middle of the medival city is unique and authentic. It is exactly what you would expect. The staff were very friendly. Getting to the hotel is an adventure ride in the shuttle and part of the fun. The drivers are awesome. The personal courtyard was a dream. The bed and pillows were fine for one night. The room is surprisingly spacious with adaquate storage space and large bathroom. TV was ok. The shower is not ergonomic, there is nowhere to attach the hand held part so you cannot have a hands-free shower. Also if you have mobility issues the tub may be difficult to step into. It was very stuffy at night. The temperature controls didn't work even when the staff member remotely lowered it. We opened the French doors to get some air circulation. Getting back by foot at night from the La Bastide (lower town) there are no lights on the path. I did also enjoy this because it was a very authentic adventure but it is not exactly the safest ground to walk on in the dark and when it's wet. More clear signage would be welcomed. Google maps stuggles to triangulate within the walls of the city. I would recommend they insist on sending a car for you at the train station when you arrive. It is a hassel to get a taxi to take you up to the shuttle. I like the dated decor for the authenticity but some pieces could use some sprucing up. Also in the rooms there is no usb charging. There were no ghosts ( or at least we didn't see them ... )
