We had a wonderful experience staying at the Magnolia during the Tour de France. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and we experienced wonderful hospitality.

Unacceptable Treatment at Chambres d’Hotes - le Magnolia: Denied Entry and No Refund for a 10-Minute Delay I am compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with Chambres d’Hotes - le Magnolia. The treatment I received during my attempted check-in last night was appalling and warrants a warning to future guests. Upon arrival at 8:10 PM, just 10 minutes past the 8 PM check-in deadline, which was never communicated to me prior to my arrival, I was shockingly denied entry and informed that no refunds would be provided. The staff at Chambres d’Hotes - le Magnolia did not answer my calls and completely ignored the doorbell, leaving me stranded outside in the rain. After waiting 10 minutes in the inclement weather, I was only able to enter the premises when a returning guest took pity on me and opened the door. Instead of offering assistance or an explanation, the staff on duty at Chambres d’Hotes - le Magnolia immediately challenged the guest who let me in, questioning their actions. Despite having a valid booking confirmation, the staff were neither apologetic nor willing to discuss any potential solutions. Their inflexible stance on this undisclosed policy forced me to seek alternate accommodation at great inconvenience and additional expense. The behavior of the staff at Chambres d’Hotes - le Magnolia was disgraceful. Their lack of basic customer service and the contemptuous manner in which they treated me is unacceptable. Not only was I denied the room I had paid for, but I was also subjected to a humiliating experience. I caution future guests about the strict and unannounced policies of Chambres d’Hotes - le Magnolia and the unhelpful demeanor of their staff. My experience was both disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. I strongly advise against booking with this establishment unless you are prepared to risk similar treatment.

Our wonderful hosts reached out shortly after booking as it was a last minute reservation. They offered an early check in and had a list of the best restaurants and many tips for navigating the city and castle on hand and they welcomed us on arrival. This was very helpful as we were only in Carcassone for a short time and were given excellent advice. The home was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was fantastic and the homemade pastries were still warm and absolutely delicious. I hope to visit again soon for a longer stay.

We have had to cancel our overseas trip unfortunately and emailed this hotel directly on 2 occasions requesting a refund. There has been 6 weeks notice given. No response has been received from the hotel which is very frustrating and disappointing. I recommend no payment is made until you arrive or at least only pay a deposit in the event, like us, you need to cancel.
