We booked a wine tasting with Salkim Wines and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. Erdi, our wine guide, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Turkish wine culture. The setting was also great with the tasting being offered in a cave-like wine cellar. We tasted about 20 wines, experiencing the full compliment of wines that Turkey has to offer. We enjoyed various Turkish cultivars, both white and red. Overall an amazing experience, many thanks Erdi! Teşekkür ederim, Rita and Jandré
What an incredible experience this was! Our guide was so passionate about Turkish wine and has created a magical space in a beautiful cave for the experience. We learnt so much and got to try 25 delicious wines. Was the highlight of our trip to Cappadocia since the balloons were cancelled all week. Even if you aren’t a wine expert you will enjoy it. Don’t hesitate just book!
Very informative and tasted many wines. Owner has a true passion for Turkish wines. Very highly recommend this tasting!
Excellent experience. We tasted 20 different wines with both Turkish native grapes and French grapes cultivated in Turkey. Erdi is very knowledgeable about and explained wine making in a way that we had never heard before. We learned a lot from this experience. This is our best wine tasting experience. Highly recommend.
Great wine tasting tour, we booked for our last evening in Cappadocia and did not disappoint. Our host was very knowledgeable and met us at our level of knowledge very well. Would recommend for a cool different experience in the Avanos area
The host was really friendly and not only did he explain how different types of wine are created, but he did it with so much passion! I admire that. We learned a lot, different types of grapes, the meaning of the wine color, what to pair which wine to what type of food and also why, and so on.. The wines were quite diverse, from white, red, rose Cappadocia wines to fruit wines to sweet wines, the list goes on and on. Definitely recommend for anyone to come here!
Our wine tasting experience was so interesting and enjoyable! Erdi gave us a really valuable lesson in Turkish wine and the culture that created it over the previous generations as. We tasted 20 wines from Turkey, and learnt so much whilst having a wonderful time tasting them. Highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to learn not just about wine, but about the Turkish winemaking methods and culture.
Very informative with a large selection of wines. Our guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. One of our favorite things in Turkey. I would highly recommend for both wine lovers and those new to wine
This is one the most fulfilling and exciting experience had during our stay in Cappadoccia precisely in Avanos where we had a georgous wine tasting experience that would remain with us for a long time. The host (Erid) was very knowledgeable, approachable and professional. We tasted over 16 different types of wine in small quantities with full explanation of each type of wine from white to blush to rosseo to red and full bodied red. He did explained origin, process and storage of each type of wine and what to be looking for from a bottle of wine. Attending this wine tasting has certainly increased our knowledge to knowing how to choose a good wine when the occasion arises. Thank you Erid!
The wine tasting was fantastic! It was a truly enjoyable experience, and we got to discover a wonderful variety of wines. The fruit wine, in particular, was absolutely perfect – full of flavor and beautifully balanced. We had a great time and would highly recommend it to any wine lover!
We had an unforgettable wine tasting experience with a group of friends. We sampled around 20 different wines, but what truly made it special was our host. He didn’t just serve wine — he shared fascinating stories and local myths that brought the region’s history to life with every glass. His passion was contagious, and you could feel how much he genuinely loves what he does. The atmosphere was warm, engaging, and full of personality. It wasn’t just a tasting — it felt like a journey. Highly recommended!
10/10 would recommend! DELICIOUS wine. We all went home with a bottle or two. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel at home while enjoying the tasting. They also provided some light refreshments.
Would recommend to anyone visiting the area - excellent host, fantastic wines and perfect experience! Very well organised and great communication
This was a really fun experience and chance to learn all about Turkish wines. We tasted 22 different wines from white to dessert wines. The grapes ranged from those native to Turkey to well-known grapes such as Chardonnay. Our host was engaging and entertaining. Great activity to do in Avanos!

Great experience with an exhaustive introduction to local and international varieties growing in Cappadocia. Super interesting, and the atmosphere of the cellar also worth it. We strongly recommend to try if you want to discover local wines.
We had an amazing time with Eddy. We tried 20 different wines, mostly from Cappadocia, and learned so much about the historical significance of wine in the region along the way. We also learned about the winemaking process and how to tell the quality of wine when picking it out in a store. Eddy was so knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. If you like wine at all, don't miss this!
Erdi was very kind and knowledgeable and taught us a lot about local wines. It was a very fun experience, would highly recommend!
Edie came to pick us up, he also was the one who taught us about all of the women. We sampled white, rose and red. We had a blast. He then took us to purchase authentic pottery which was pretty amazing and reasonable. I recommend giving this place a try.
Learnt a lot both about wine and Turkish culture, very low key experience that made us really appreciate the different wines. We got a customized experience.
Amazing tasting!! The owner knew so much about wine and explained them all, got to try and rate 20 different turkish wines and learn about them while doing so, if you love wine this is great!
Host was very knowledgeable about all things wine, particularly the regional wines and the history of them. Tried at least 15 wines over about an hour. Would recommend for fellow wine lovers.
My mother and I booked this wine tasting event while in Cappadocia and had the best time! It was the most educational and comprehensive wine tasting event I had ever attended. We sampled around 22 different wines including whites, reds, and roses and had nice little snacks to munch on as well. We liked it so much that I recommended this wine house to a couple of other tourists I met later in the day. If you’re looking to sample and learn about a bunch of different local wines, I recommend booking this event!

Nestled in Avanos, the wine shop we stumbled upon was a true hidden gem. Specializing in Cappadocian wines, this quaint establishment quickly captured our hearts and palates. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the owner, whose passion for wines from the region was palpable. His extensive knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious as he guided us through a tasting journey of over 25 varieties. From crisp whites to robust reds, each sip revealed the unique terroir and craftsmanship behind Cappadocia's wines. The ambiance of the shop was inviting, with cozy seating areas perfect for enjoying a glass or two with friends. The owner's genuine hospitality added an extra layer of charm to our experience, making us feel like valued guests rather than mere customers. Whether you're a seasoned oenophile or a curious novice, this establishment is a must-visit for anyone seeking to explore the rich tapestry of Cappadocian wines. We wholeheartedly recommend it and can't wait to return for another tasting adventure. Cheers to unforgettable experiences and exquisite wines!
Great wine tasting session, it was fascinating to learn the history of the local wine as well as a general education on wine tasting.
This was a very pleasant experience for our first wine tasting adventure. The guide was very friendly while they took us from our hotel to the wine cellar. They were not afraid to answer any of our questions and wanted us to understand what we were tasting. He definitely has passion for the creation of the various wines in and around Turkey and various other regions. We were served a generous variety of white, red and fruit wines. We even were allowed to sample their own honey and hot wine. Overall, this was an excellent and enjoyable experience that is highly recommended.

I will never buy a bottle of wine in the same way as I did before! Amazing experience! Must visit! Beautiful winery. Beautiful experience. 10 stars!! Thankyou for an amazing experience! Xxxx

I love the owner Erdi’s enthusiasm about introducing the wine , grapes knowledge to us. He let us to taste around 30 different kinds of wine. Being super friendly and helpful, we had great time there ! Highly recommended!!!
I joined this wonderful experience during our 3-days stay in Göreme. Erdi was kind enough to arrange a private transport from my hotel to the winery and back. Throughout the experience i tasted over 30 types of wine from Cappadocia and other regions around Turkey, some of which were special vintages where only a few thousand bottles were produced! Erdi was very knowledgeable and gave some background on each of the types of wine that i tasted and also provided some snacks to have between tastings. It was great to learn more about the wine culture in Turkey in such a beautiful setting. You can even buy bottles of the wines you taste at the end of the experience if you so desire, just remember which ones you liked since there are so many options. Erdi also offered to pour me an additional glass to enjoy while i decided whether to take any of the wines home. Highly recommend this experience for anyone in Cappadocia!
The guide had a very deep knowledge of the wines and we tasted a great variety.
The tasting at Salkim Wine House was really great! We drank almost 20 wines, most of them from Cappadocia, white and red and rosy and fruit wine. Erdi knows a lot about wine and can feel his passion for wine culture. I didn't know anything about Turkish wine before, and this time it was a long shot. The whole process was easy and a lot of lessons were learned. The decor is also interesting. Erdi deliberately asked me to write a review in Chinese, saying that there are not many Chinese tourists and I hope to see more Chinese. It's worth recommending.
