Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Flight Experience Over Cappadocia

We were cancelled by operator for “technical reasons”. The operator did not find alternatives for us to enjoy a balloon even though other operators were still selling.

We had an exhilarating hot air balloon experience. The weather didn’t cooperate the first day and we received communication about moving our trip by a day. It all worked out perfectly. They even take several pictures and videos that you can buy for $30 which is quite reasonable. Would highly recommend !!

Just a dream - what an amazing experience. The views from up in the air were absolutely breathtaking and worth the early morning wake up call. Tourmania organised the whole experience really well, keeping me well informed and are a really friendly team. Definitely worth the money!

The hot air balloon ride was okay but was quite disappointed with late departure as we we didn’t get to start ours earlier despite the pick up was 5:30am. We could witness the other hot air balloons were lifted where they could see the sunrise. Also we just need to squeeze into the basket where the basket was quite full. They need to consider the health and safety measurements.

Our transfer picked us up at 5:30 a.m. from the hotel, which Murat had booked in advance, and took us to the hot air balloon. We could watch as several hot air balloons were heated before sunrise. The pilot was very experienced. A basket can accommodate up to 20 people. It was a great experience and I will definitely be flying with Tourmania again in the future.

Great experience. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the launch site. The balloon crew was well prepared and trained. Instructions were clear. The balloon ride was magical through the spires. Sunrise across the valley was incredible. The end of the ride was handled quickly. We were out of the basket and on our way back to our hotel before we knew it. Highly recommend! Do NOT wait until last day of your vacation to book this excursion. The balloons will not fly if the winds are not right. You want to have this on your bucket list! Also note that you cannot social distance in a hot air balloon. Wear a mask! It is outdoors and the wind blows everything away.

It was an amazing experience, everything was perfect, actually they exceeded my expectations. I would recommend a thousand times, we ended up getting in the air for about 1 hour and half, very different from the 45 minutes / 1 hour previously informed. I am not sure if we were lucky or what, but this extra time was very well received.

Loved the whole service they offered from beginning to end! Picked me up from my hotel right on time and did a great job sorting all the people at their headquarters to the correct balloons. You could tell this was not their first rodeo. I was taken from the headquarters to the launching site very quickly and efficiently. They we got to watch them heat up the balloon along with other balloons all over the place. Tons of pictures! They we got to go in and off we went! The best part of the whole experience honestly had to be the crew! Just so funny and humourous and playing around with their smiles. Really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that I wish it had lasted longer!

From pickup to drop off the experience was really smooth with no time wasted. As for the flight itself - phenomenal, nothing like it anywhere in the world. Very peaceful and amazing views. We went to Cappadocia for 1 night and did the flight the morning of our departure (flying back later that afternoon) but from speaking to others the flights had been cancelled the previous 2 days due to weather so we were pretty lucky. Perhaps build in some contingency!

Don't be fooled by the title, this provider (Tourmania) is not actually a hot air balloon operator, nor does this booking actually confirm you a spot on a flight. Tourmania is simply another travel agent. On the day before our flight, we had heard nothing from Tourmania to confirm when and where we were getting picked up. We called them only to find out that they did not have a seat available for us on the day we reserved. Despite the title and description of this booking stating otherwise, Tourmania tried to assure us that this $350 booking was only meant to reserve "an opportunity" to be on a flight, not a guarantee. Tourmania tried to appease us by assuring that they would have a flight for us the next day. Upon calling back the next day, Tourmania again could not guarentee us a spot. We learned that Tourmania simply attempts to contact all the local tour agencies in Cappadocia to find a balloon flight--they don't have contacts with the actual balloon operators themselves. Having had enough of this experience, we asked for a refund. Tourmania said they would do it, but we would have to go through Viator. We contacted Viator customer service who attempted to discuss this with Tourmania. When the agent contacted them, two spots on a flight for the next day suddenly appeared and the local travel agency contacted us. Viator told us that we may or may not get our money back since Tourmania was at this point technically trying to deliver the service, so we decided to see if the flight would actually occur. We eventually found the actual balloon company ourselves (Rainbow balloon), and confirmed they had a spot for us the next day. Overall, a balloon flight in Cappadocia is a wonderful experience. However, we strongly recommend not using Tourmania. We wasted hours of our trip on the phone with them and I'm not confident that we would have actually been booked on a flight if we hadn't pushed them so much. All told, we had to go through Viator, Tourmania, and the local Cappadocia travel agent to finally get ourselves spots on a balloon ride. Instead of dealing with these multiple third parties, attempt to book directly through a local balloon company, like Royal Balloon or Rainbow Balloon.

The flight was perfect and the pilot was very good. The experience was incredible. We didn´t like: The voucher included breakfast, but it did not happen. Also included a glass of champagne, but was served a drink of poor quality. It was not champagne or sparkling wine. Compared with other people who made the same day flight, we paid a much higher value than the average.

Waking up in the early hours of the morning was well worth the experience. Prompt and friendly pick up, taken to a beautiful location and given coffee and snacks as we watch the set up of our hot air balloon. Communication and safety instructions were simple and easy to follow. The balloon was safe and the views beautiful and the experience was once in a life time. Professional, exciting and beautiful all at the same time. Would definitely recommend to everybody.

Arrived in Cappadocia (Nov 14), booked and got confirmed a day before the planned balloon ride. Called the operator for pick-up time once i got the confirmation from viator but was told we (group of 6) won’t be accommodated for the confirmed trip as they have to cater to guests that wasn’t able to fly for the past two days due to the weather. Was super excited to have been confirmed but was dashed within an hour. :). I cannot rate the balloon flight itself but i guess it would have been awesome as i saw all the balloons flying magestically the next day! Received refund 8 days after planned trip.

My group of 10 people booked a Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Flight for October 11 and each person paid over $204, but the tour was cancelled due to weather conditions. I spoke to IBRAHIM of Tourmania (+90 555 275 6953) several times over the phone and WhatsApp to request a refund since Oct. 11, and he said he will notify Viator. Come Nov. 8th, the refunds still wasn't received. I sent messages to Tourmania and sent him again the list of names. It has been so frustrating dealing with Tourmania, What could have been an easy refund resulted to a lot of aggravation and frustration. I do NOT recommend Tourmania at all, they are irresponsible, took our money and have to go through a lot of aggravation before we get our refunds due to cancelled hot air balloon flights.

The pick up started at 5 am from different hotels in cappadocia and we we're dropped at a common place for breakfast,At 5:45 A.m we were given a Vehicle no to be boarded(unsure why the shuffling happened),though it was a bit nippy By 7 am we were up and was sailing for a little more than an hour,the view is spectacular.

This was one of my best experiences in my life, so beautiful views and really good professionals. I really recommend this tour.

On time pick-up in hotel. Balloon service was very good with skilled pilot on board. Take off and everything went smoothly. Agency is also very accommodating, checking on our experience after the tour. I’ll definitely recommend this agency.

Had an amazing experience doing the balloon ride! This was my first balloon ride and totally enjoyed it.. the pilot had a great sense of humour and kept us involved. I would recommend taking the balloon ride before/during the sunrise to avoid the sun rays.

We, family of 4 visited cappadokya. Cappadokya is a unique experience of nature, history and adventure, all bundled in one package. Our trip become more enjoyable and memorable when We took services of Gogeous travels. It was a pleasant experience all the way from airport pickup, their tours including green and red tours. Both tours are worth taking and cover cappadokya from all angles. The lunch served during both tours were very good. Our review will not complete if we don’t mention about our tour guide, Bayram. Bayram is an exceptional tour guide with knowledge and wit. He explained everything so well that it took us to the back to the time in history.

En la descripción pone: desayuno incluído cuando no es cierto, horas antes del vuelo te mandan un mensaje diciéndote que el desayuno no se incluye por motivos COVID, pero en la descripción no lo quitan. Eso sí el cava al final del vuelo para el COVID no es problemático... Indicamos que el paseo guiado fuese en español, pero solo sabía inglés y turco... ¿Para que preguntan entonces? Y no creáis que éramos los únicos españoles, de nuestro grupo de excursión éramos 12 personas, es decir, más de la mitad del globo éramos españoles. A todo esto podemos también agregar que según donde se contrate el servicio puede indicar que es un paseo de 2 o 3 horas... También mentira, el paseo es de 1 hora. En nuestro grupo hubo gente que iba muy ilusionada porque ellos habían contratado 3 horas y guia en ESPAÑOL... la decepción que se llevaron cuando vieron que todos íbamos en el mismo globo y lo contratado era todo mentira. La única verdad es que es un paseo en globo, no os dejéis engañar por la publicidad, buscar el precio más barato, TODOS SON IGUALES.

I was pleasantly surprised by the experience in Goreme, both the visit to the famous fairy fireplaces and the balloon trip.

Very Poor Communication and Service. The tour operator is very difficult to reach to make clear agreements about the confirmation of the tour and the pick-up time.

In my opinion there is no greater sin than visiting Goreme and not seeing sunrise from the sky over Goreme, it is an unforgettable experience a unique feeling.

We booked in advance, the package includes round trip transfer breakfast and a drink at the end of the flight. The hour-long flight is simply fantastic, words are not enough to describe the view of the Goreme Valley at dawn. A unique experience organized at its best!

We enjoyed the balloon ride very much and were looked after very well. Hotel pickup as agreed and worked without any problems. The balloon ride was just at the right time as there were already some balloons in the lift and we were able to take such wonderful photos. The equipment and quality makes a very good impression and the pilots were also very experienced. We can recommend this experience 100%.

Hot air ballooning in Cappadocia is an experience you absolutely must not miss. A great place. The Service is run by punctual and kind people. All right.
