Rooftop Turkish Coffee & Fortune Telling Workshop In Cappadocia

This was a fun activity. Our instructor was very friendly and it was interesting to learn the history of the Turkish coffee and customs. The fortunate telling part is just a fun parlor trick. Definitely worth doing this. I recommend this active to my fellow solo female travelers

This was a fun experience!!! I wish I could remember our guides name . She was blond with glasses. She explained the history of coffee and Turkey. We grind our own beans and prepared our own coffee in sand. She then explained the fortune telling process and proceeded to read our fortunes. It was really fun ! I highly recommend this workshop. In fact I recommend all their workshops. Right before the coffee workshop , we did the mosaic lamp workshop which was also fun and a beautiful souvenir to take back home. They offer a perfume making class that we didn’t have enough time to do but I’d love to take in the future . Fun fact : they offer the same workshops in Antalya and in addition a Kunefe making class that I cannot recommend enough !! Look into it !!

Bee was an amazing host. My best friend and I booked this last minute and we are so glad we did! You have to give this a shot! This was an intimate (fun) history of Turkish coffee and how to make it. We were able to make our own Turkish coffee in the sand and then Bee made us a favorite version of hers which I ended up buying in the store to take home with me along with coffee making items. My favorite part, other than Bee’s wonderful hospitality, was her fortune telling. I believe in fortune and signs. I believe in chance, luck, and good will. I believe in spirituality. I’ve had my fortune told many times and Bee was very spot on with my personality but also at how I tend to go through life. My friend and I were quite shocked at how accurate the things were she was telling us. One thing I loved was Bee being very down to earth but not afraid to tell you the chaotic side of your fortune. A storm started brewing when we arrived and it made for that much more of a cozy vibe. Give this a try!

Erem and Ece were wonderful! My kids and I felt very welcomed and were fully engaged. It was enjoyable to hear the history of turkish coffee, hear stories, chat, and do the hands on process step by step. We checked out the venue on the hotel rooftop earlier in the day while walking around Goreme and discovered the setup also has lamp and perfume making—we scheduled these so that each could do his/her own activity at the same time. It was a great way for all of us to be together and yet do our own thing.

Our coffee expert, Beril, was absolutely amazing! She walked us through the entire coffee-making process and shared some really fun traditional facts about coffee culture in Turkey. The fortune telling at the end was such a fun, memorable touch! I would definitely do this again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

AJ was a great instructor. I did the experience solo and was the only participant, but she sat and had coffee with me and we chatted. She explained Turkish coffee and fortune telling. She took photos and videos for me. I highly recommend.

I would like to thank our Turkish guide to the world of Turkish coffee, the girl with the wonderful name Yagmur (translated from Turkish as rain). She is Turkish by nationality and knows Turkish traditions very well. We brewed delicious coffee together and I learned how to cook and drink it properly. We were also given a gift- a Turk and a cup and saucer made of clay, as well as a guide to fortune-telling on coffee grounds, which was very nice and pleasant! The tour was conducted in English and Yagmur speaks it well, everything was clear and fascinating.

We experienced this together with instructor Yagmur. We had a great time learning about the history of Turkish coffee and Turkish culture. In particular, the story about couples was very surprising 🤭 The souvenirs were also wonderful, and I’m looking forward to making it at home 😊 Thank you so much 😊

Zehra was amazing! She taught me so much about Turkish coffee-making and culture. She also offers decaf coffee. I loved the treats and had so much fun listening to her fortune-telling. What an informative and engaging experience—I recommend to everyone!

I joined the turkish coffee experience with my partner today. The session is hosted by Zehra. She made the class interesting and interactive and show us clear instructions step by step. We learn how to make turkish coffee and learnt the history and culture behind it. I would love to come back for more experiences. Highly recommended to anyone visiting:))

Ahmed was the best teacher who taught me so much about the traditional way of 'cooking' Turkish coffee, the local way of using it as unspoken hints, and reading my fortune based on my coffee cup. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this. I even went back to buy the cup/saucer set because I couldn't find any similar ones in town.

This was so much fun! I wanted a cultural experience to complement all the hiking we’ve been doing in Göreme. The price was extremely reasonable, the location was clean and comfortable, and the class size was small which made for a very personal experience. Zehra was a great teacher! She took the time to explain everything well, even using her phone to translate for people who may not have strong English. (Zehra’s English was great btw!). She also told some fun stories and traditions. We made our coffee of course, and we also got to sample some different additions to modify the flavor like cardamom or cinnamon, which was a really cool surprise! It felt like a fun afternoon with friends. Highly recommend!

The coffee brewing class was really fun. Zehra shared lots about coffee and Turkish culture throughout the class. We brewed our own coffee and tried it with Turkish delights, cinnamon and cardamom. They were all really delish. Finished the class off with a fortune telling experience. Our guide was really wonderful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this experience. Left with lots of gifts.

This is an amazing experience, Denis taught me a lot of things regarding coffee and the hand crafted way to prepared, it was delicious, also the final is super interesting, don’t miss it if you come to capadoccia.

Zehra gave us a bit of a background explanation about coffee in general and Turkish coffee, including a few stories and the history. You can see she’s very passionate about it. Coffee was delicious and the whole experience making it was so fun. We even did the fortune telling which is not usually our thing but was fun to do!

This was great for coffee lovers and non-coffee lovers! Ahmet was a great host who shared the interesting history of coffee and its importance in Turkish culture. The shop was beautiful and we had so much fun preparing coffee in the traditional way and the fortune telling was amazing! We did ATVs, balloons and sightseeing but this was our favorite activity in Cappadocia! Thank you Ahmet and family!

This workshop was a highlight of my time spent in Cappadocia. Denise was an incredible host and welcomed us making the experience so much fun. We learned about Turkish hospitality, how to make the perfect cup of Turkish coffee, and about the history of coffee in Turkey and the role in social connection. Denise helped bring it all to life with her stories and experience. The best part was having our fortune read based on the coffee grinds. Denise was spot on with her readings. We had an incredible experience at this workshop. Deniz was very lovely and well-informed. We learned a lot about the history of coffee and had a great introduction to traditional Turkish coffee. The pistachio coffee was also delicious!

A surprisingly incredible, educational and fun experience with Denise. She not only took us through the the origins of coffee, but her story telling was otherworldly. I joined the Coffee Workshop with my girlfriend. Our tutor-Ahmet is nice and funny. We learned about the history, cooking method and knowledge of coffee. In the workshop, you can make the Turkish Coffee on your own. After tasting the coffee, there is a fortune telling section, which you can make a wish and know more about yourself.😊

It was a great experience of coffee making and fortune telling. We had limited time because we had a flight to catch but it was well accommodated and we still learned a lot in around an hour.

Ahmet guided us through the coffee making experience yesterday and provided us with an interesting history of coffee and coffee making. He was very knowledgeable and a well equipped story teller. You learn about the history of coffee, smell different varieties, learn the Turkish coffee making process, get your fortune told, and get a gift set to go. Pretty good value!
