Hot Air Balloon Flight In Cappadocia With Rainbow Balloons

Our Pilot and his crew were fantastic and we loved the experience of hot air ballooning over Cappadocia which I booked for the morning of my husbands 50th birthday However, don’t bother paying extra for the deluxe flight. It is marketed as having less people in the basket so not as crowded and says you have a ‘guaranteed 75-90 minutes flight time’ The regular baskets hold 32 people and this is marketed as only having 16-20 people in the basket. What they don’t tell you is that it’s a smaller basket that only holds 20 people (we had 19 on our flight) so you are just as crowded as the larger baskets with more people in. We ended up squashed into the middle section next to the pilot so we did not see the best (end) views most of the time. I did manage to get the other people in our section to move around a bit so we managed to get a couple of good photos. We also had to take it in turns being at the edge of the basket with the other person behind them looking over their shoulder. You also do not get an extended flight. Our flight lasted 65 minutes (time stamped photos and videos of take off and landing) and the last 10 minutes of that was spent hovering over a field waiting for the transport trailer to come so we could land on it. So really we got 55 minutes of flight. It’s not worth paying for the deluxe flight when you get exactly the same as the regular cheaper flights.

Definitely do not book with this company. I made a reservation the morning before the flight. However, upon arriving in Cappadocia, I found out that all flights from the previous morning had been canceled due to bad weather. Because prices surged, they unfairly canceled our reservation and resold the slots to other people at much higher rates. This company is a scam—do not trust them with your booking.

We did the sunrise hot air balloon ride with Rainbow Balloons, and it might be the highlight of our entire trip. I genuinely believe this is something everyone visiting Cappadocia should experience. Our hotel arranged it for us at 60 EUR per person, which felt very reasonable, and once we saw the organization and quality on the day, it was worth every cent. Lifting off just as the first light of dawn breaks is a truly magical experience - you're floating right in the middle of this incredible visual show. The balloons themselves are enormous; you don't really appreciate the scale until you're standing beside one. Ours carried 32 people, basically an entire busload of us rising into the sky together. Watching around 100 balloons take off at the same time, with over 3000 people airborne above Cappadocia's fairy chimneys and valleys, is something else entirely - every direction you look is a postcard, with each valley showing off completely different rock formations. What really stood out to us was how professional the whole operation was. We never came across anyone trying to overcharge tourists here, which we know happens from time to time in other tourist destinations - I really hope other regions take note, because Cappadocia does tourism right. No hidden costs, no pushy sales pitches - just a smooth, honest experience from start to finish. The team clearly understands tourism and how to treat their guests well. Some people are hesitant because they think it's dangerous, but watching the pilot land the basket with pinpoint precision directly onto the trailer afterward completely convinced us these are true professionals who do this every single day. This is the kind of experience - like skydiving or paragliding - that belongs on everyone's bucket list, and Cappadocia's fairy chimneys are simply the best place in the world to do it.

Wonderful! The wonder of ballooning had us in awe. The scenery was beautiful, the experience was a buzz. We were very grateful for the extra time up as it added to more peaceful moments. We appreciated smaller group size. Our pilot made us feel comfortable and delivered a great flight.

Amazing! We had an amazing time in the air with Rainbow Balloons. They were on time with pickup and their team were set up at the take off location with everything in place already. Before we knew it, we were taking off to the skies. Their pilot Alper was an ace and could navigate the winds like he was born in them. My family and I took in all the amazing views of Cappadocia with its towns and the beautiful rock formations. It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun.

Rainbow baloons with their pilot Recep offered us a great flight, above the chimneys, through the canyons and over the Uchisar castle. Superb landing, wonderful experience overall.

Out of everything, I love colours most. So in my vision of the perfect hot air balloon ride, it had to be a really colourful and bright one. Checking some providers in advance, I first found Rainbow Balloons - it's even their slogan to be "The Most Colorful Balloon Company in Cappadocia". That's also where I spotted this one balloon I especially fancied. In a chat with them beforehand, they said they couldn't promise that it would be exactly this one, as you can only make the reservation for the flight itself, not for a particular balloon. They mentioned they allocate people to the balloons based on many things, like individual hotel locations or whether there are any group bookings, and also depending on which balloons are flying on that specific day. But they tried everything and I got my favourite (TC-BT7) in the end. Happy me! Besides that, I felt lucky about the rest as well. The pick-up was on time, which does make a difference when it starts super early. Plus, the tour comes with a breakfast bag that was just right while watching the balloons slowly get inflated in the dark. And then the real magic began, and we flew over the Fairy Chimneys with our own dragon sound. I loved those whoosh whoosh blasts of the burner! In combination with the noises of the other balloons, I had that dragon thought all the time. No need to say that it's special to see the sunrise from this perspective, with hundreds of balloons around you and the surreal landscape below. A huge contrast to any ordinary morning. And being up in the balloon is so different from just chasing them from the ground. Although both are totally worth it in their own way. Once we landed, they prepared a small celebration corner and gave out a paper balloon as a keepsake. After watching them fold its big brother (deflated, the balloon looked like a giant PE parachute and must be so much fun to play around with!!), we were still back early enough in the morning to catch a regular breakfast and enjoy the other sights that region has to offer. So everything from A to Z ran perfectly and fast and I think a balloon company couldn't do any better.

After a few days of cancellations due to the weather, today was the day! While it feels like it was really close to other balloons, the crew had everything under control!

Amazing experience! In the air for 45-60 minutes, sunrise over the strange shapes of Cappadocia's landscape. Incredible views, over 100 balloons in the air all at once. The co-pilot took video which you could buy on a USB. The pilot was excellent and even landed the basket of the balloon directly on his trailer. Non alcohol sparkling wine/juice and cake afterwards. A terrific experience.

Think twice before booking with this company. Our balloon tour was cancelled because of weather conditions, which we completely understand. However, what happened next was unacceptable. To reschedule for the following day, they demanded nearly twice the amount we originally paid, saying it was their internal policy. It is unreasonable to make customers pay more for circumstances beyond their control. This practice feels opportunistic and unfair.

What an amazing experience! Thank you so much Rainbow Balloons! The day before we arrived in Kapadokya, our hotel (having booked our balloon flight for us 8 months prior) cancelled on us. We were a little panicked having flown from New Zealand for this bucket list flight. The customer service at Rainbow Balloons was outstanding. Via Whatsapp they immediately connected with us and booked us on a flight the next day! They were so friendly and so helpful, we couldn’t have asked for more. The day of the flight was so organised. The sunrise balloon flight itself was breathtaking and landing the balloon on a trailer in a field .. just wow! The pilots and crew were fantastic, offering to take photos for us and we had a morning I will never forget 😍 We also got engaged!! ❤️ 💍 At the champagne party afterwards we all received a champagne/juice and a certificate.
