Disappointing Hot Air Balloon Experience – Lack of Passenger Coordination We were really looking forward to our hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, but unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor passenger coordination and inconsiderate behaviour from fellow passengers. A couple sharing our section of the basket was not considerate of others. The gentleman kept his arms extended along our side to give his wife more space and access to the corner, leaving us feeling cramped and uncomfortable. During sunrise, we politely requested 3–4 times that he move slightly so we could also take some photographs, but our requests were not accommodated. Meanwhile, passengers in other sections were cooperating, adjusting their positions, and giving everyone a fair opportunity to enjoy the views and capture memories. One important aspect of a hot air balloon experience is that the corners of the basket offer better viewing angles, especially for photography. When one person or couple occupies the corner throughout the ride without giving others an opportunity, it becomes difficult for the remaining passengers to enjoy the same experience. Everyone pays for the ride and deserves a fair chance to enjoy the views and take photographs. From our experiences with boat tours and other group activities in different countries, coordinators usually step in politely and in a friendly manner to encourage passengers to share viewing spots and ensure everyone gets an opportunity. We expected similar coordination during this balloon ride, particularly considering the premium price of the experience. As two women travelling together, we also felt uncomfortable having to repeatedly request space from a stranger. We believe this should not have been left entirely to passengers to manage among themselves. We understand that the operator cannot control every individual’s behaviour, but proactive and friendly coordination from the crew could have made a significant difference. Even a simple announcement encouraging passengers to be considerate, share corner views, and allow others to take photographs would have helped. For such an expensive, once-in-a-lifetime experience, we expected better attention to passenger comfort and fairness. Unfortunately, the lack of coordination significantly affected what should have been a beautiful and memorable experience. We hope the operator takes this feedback seriously and improves passenger management so that future guests can enjoy a more comfortable and equally rewarding experience.

My husband, friends, and I enjoyed the sunrise hot air balloon ride with Kapadokya Balloons on 8/21/26. It was a seamless, safe, and amazing experience from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel right on time by Erai, our driver and one of the team of balloon handlers. Our pilot Kurti was confident, skilled and professional. I was a bit nervous, but our pilot's calm demeanor put me at ease! This is my second hot air balloon experience, and it was unique. Our pilot guided our balloon through the town of Goreme. We felt as if we could touch the fairy chimneys and grab a Turkish coffee from the visitors on the hotel rooftops! We then climbed to a height of about 4600ft! The view, silence, and stillness from that altitude was unforgettable. The landing though was so unexpected! Kurti landed the basket perfectly on the flat bed of the company's truck! The drinks, refreshments and photo op after the landing were also lots of fun! Thank you so much to the team at Kapadokya Balloons for a memorable experience!

The entire experience was fabulous! If I had to re do it j wouldn’t look elsewhere. Right from the coordination to the pilot Kurt (Hope it’s correctly spelled) - the experience was nothing short of perfect. He ensured we had a good time and had such good energy! Hulya the ops manager was a whole vibe! Ended with the champagne toast which was the cherry on top!

WOW, what a great experience. Very early start to the morning when we were picked up at our hotel by this happy friendly gentleman called Ibreham. We collected some other people along the way prior to arriving at the balloon site. What a sight to see so many balloons getting ready to fly. We boarded the basket and were given a safety briefing, then off we went slowely upwards into the sky where the sun was starting to rise. We floated around and saw the sights from the sky that we had visited on the ground the day before. Fabulous to see all the balloons above, below and all around us. After a while we started towards the landing sight where the crew and trailer awaited. A perfect landing directly on the trailer. (Great flying). We excited the basket and were given certificates and a celebration drink. Thanks to our pilot, the balloon team and their support for a very memorable experience.

There are no words! An experience of a lifetime! They are such a professional company and everything was planned perfectly. Our pilot, Deniz, was superb and incredibly skilled. It wasn't too cramped and we had incredible views helped by the fact he slowly rotated the balloon so everyone got a chance to take photos. Rhey are one of the original balloon companies that have been going for over 30 years and their experience shines through.

Expensive but an amazing trip

Tuvimos una experiencia que recordaremos de por vida. Un vuelo totalmente placentero y un aterrizaje suave. Nos pasaron a buscar por el hotel a horario en la madrugada y puedo decirles que la emoción que se siente al llegar al campo donde salen los globos es indescriptible. La oscuridad de la madrugada y los mecheros de los globos encendiéndose te anticipa la experiencia que vas a vivir. Hermosos paisajes y mucha paz en las alturas. Lo recomiendo y si bien es una excursión costosa vale totalmente vivirlo. Tuvimos la gran fortuna de que el clima nos acompañara porque días después vimos que había cancelaciones. Lo que todo el mundo recomienda es quedarte no menos de 2 noches para tener un día de contingencia por si el clima no acompaña. We had an experience that we will remember for a lifetime. A completely enjoyable flight and a smooth landing. They picked us up from the hotel on time in the early morning, and I can tell you that the excitement you feel when reaching the field where the balloons take off is indescribable. The darkness and the burners of the balloons lighting up give you a glimpse of the experience you're about to live. Beautiful landscapes and a lot of peace up in the air. I recommend it, and even though it’s an expensive excursion, it’s totally worth living. We were very lucky that the weather cooperated because a few days later we saw that there were cancellations. What everyone recommends is staying at least 2 nights to have a contingency day in case the weather doesn’t allow it.

If you’re visiting Cappadocia, a hot air balloon ride is an absolute must. Just be prepared for an early start, we were picked up promptly at 3:45 a.m., and every minute of lost sleep was completely worth it. Watching the sunrise while floating over Cappadocia’s incredible. The views were unlike anything we’d ever seen, and the experience was both peaceful and exhilarating. Our balloon pilot was highly skilled, professional, and had a great sense of humor, which made the flight even more enjoyable. The entire crew was organized, friendly, and made us feel safe from start to finish. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cappadocia. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and a memory we’ll cherish forever.

This experience was very well organised. Starting about 4 am to watch the dawn it was an incredible experience. The basket has to be climbed into which may be a problem for some people. Once inside it was incredibly smooth as it floated up into the sky then down near to the rocks on the ground. Our pilot was very friendly and skilled. It lasted about 45 minutes and landed calmly on a high trailer without a bump. Very soothing and calm experience and the staff worked well as a team. Well worth a trip.

Me and my wife were picked up from our hotel, even though it wasn't listed when we booked. The pickup was on time, and we were taken, with other guests, to the take off site. During this period we were given breakfast bags, consisting of water, juice, croissant and savouries. We were helped into the balloon and placed in sections of 4. There was plenty of room for everyone. We received safety and landing instructions from the pilot. We were soon in the air, and it was an unforgettable experience. We felt totally safe in the hands of the pilot. We were in the air for around 45 minutes. On our descent, the pilot even managed to land on the trailer the balloon arrived on. It was a totally smooth landing. The staff then proceeded to decorate the balloon basket with flower, and we were given non alcoholic sparkling wine. We were then invited to have photographs in front of the balloon and given our flight certificates. After this, we were quickly transported back to our hotels by around 6.45am. We booked online around 48hrs before the flight and were kept in touch via WhatsApp with all arrangements. The price was very competitive and I would thoroughly recommend this company

Just wow. We had a significant birthday to celebrate and we were really spoilt. A big thank you for making it such a memorable experience. The whole team were super - from the 4am minibus driver, the ground crew, the pilot to the staff in the office. They were so sweet they even organised a surprise birthday cake to be presented after we landed. Even the other passengers were rather taken by their kind generosity. The flight itself was utterly sublime seeing the sunrise over Cappadocia, manoeuvring over the rock formations and then skilfully landing directly on the trailer! A special day made more special by Kapadokya Balloons.

this hot air balloon ride was an absolute dream come true. such a whimsical experience and made exponentially better with our pilot Mehmet and copilot Mustafa. i cannot recommend them and this company enough. they took great care of us and made the whole experience smooth and safe. it truly is such a perfect way to see some of the unique and beautiful land of the cappadocia region.

This hot air balloon experience curated by Kapadokya balloons was one of the greatest, most satisfying and most calming experiences of my whole life. The sincerity with which the team coordinates the trip is something to watch with awe. We were picked from our stay with precision to the second, treated to a pre-meal snack and taken to the site by the charming, extremely friendly and commendably helpful Mr. Ibrahim who stuck by his entrusted batch of tourists till the very last moment with a somewhat heroic earnestness. Also, pre-flight and inflight safety is verbally and practically guaranteed by the Pilot and his team, allowing us to ease into the meditative part of the experience. The team ensures the flawless delivery of the sublime feeling we wish to experience here. They seem to have mastered the arts of Turkish high-spirited hospitality and Cappadocia Balloon excursions. Amazing experience! The guys are super helpful, especially as we had an 84 year old with us. Very courteous (and handsome) crew. The ride was smooth, we didn't feel unsafe even once. And it was absolutely an adventure of a lifetime. I've gone on a hot air balloon before, and I would definitely recommend Kapadokya to all my friends.

Awesome experience. One of the best providers in the town. Operators were pleasant and fun. Ample time in the air, spacious enough to view and take photos. Smooth landing. They also had 360 cameras and buying their videos is optional. Balloons were cancelled on our first day and they rebooked for us the same moment with no extra cost.

My family and I booked a flight with them and it was the best experience! “Cielo,” the pilot, was incredibly kind to us from the very beginning. Osman and abdulkadir were excellent crew. The trip lasted 1 hr and 9 minutes and the took us up and around to see all the beautiful Cappadocia sites and the sunrise. Had 360 video to sell after the flight. Nice soft landing. Highly recommended.

Driver picked us up from Hotel at 5am. We were provided a bagged breakfast chocolate croissant, pretzels, peach juice and water. Upon arrival at loading area, we were thrilled watching the balloons being filled and light up. Our expert pilot, Mustafa, took us over the valley area below. Seeing the sunrise in the valley was amazing. When we landed, Mustafa landed our balloon directly onto the vehicles trailer. We felt totally safe the entire time. The staff takes their jobs seriously, providing us with safety cards and training us in landing procedures.

Highly recommend this company. Everything was perfect. The pilots were top notch and maneuvered the balloon seamlessly. I am afraid of heights (I can’t even look over a balcony) but I felt safe and calm the entire ride, including the gentle landing (onto the back of a flatbed truck no less!) which I was worried about. We had 3 days in Cappadocia and we had booked a hot air balloon ride for the first day about 1 month ahead of our trip. On the first day, our hot air balloon ride was cancelled due to bad wind conditions that did not permit any hot air balloons to operate. The same happened on the second day. We had to hustle to find a different company to book with to attempt a flight on our last morning and that is when we came across Kapadokya Balloons. We got a booking through an agent and secured a sunrise, first ascent balloon ride. Fortunately, the weather held up and we were able to experience the mesmerising phenomenon of sprinter van traffic to open fields where 100 balloons were getting prepped to take to the air and slowly ascended one by one. We were in absolute awe of the setup of the balloons and once we hopped in the ascent was stunning! The views of the fairy chimney landscape were next to none and with up to 150 other balloons in the sky, an absolute wonder to see. We were in the air for an hour, after which we came back down and disembarked. Thereafter, we were offered grape juice and cake and out flight certificates. Kapadokya Balloons picked us up and dropped us back to the hotel which was great. It was an extremely early start to the morning but 1000% worth it!
