Confirmation #: 1787845431 Booking Reference #: 1405455825 I made inquiries and provisionally booked a ride for pickups for a hop on hop off wine tour. When I could not confirm a special pick up service, I cancelled the reservation. The operator went ahead and charged me anyway without any service rendered. I want to be refunded for this charge. I am a disabled pensioner and don’t care to be treated this way. I have been a member of Trip Advisor throughout the world since 2012. This is just not right. I look forward to hearing from you soon. This was a great way to spend a full day travelling around wineries in the Stellenbosch wineries area. We got to see 5 of the 7 main wineries and sample their wines, although I am not a drinker, I really enjoyed the tour and was in awe of the fantastic setting of each winery and the scenery surroundings. Well worth a visit, even for a non drinker like myself.

We started our wine tour from Stellenbosch town centre at 12. Our driver, Marchall, explained how the wine tour worked. We picked the northern route, which covered 6 vineyards and you could pick which ones you got off at. As we were later starting we picked 3: Delheim, Leivland and Remhoogte. At Delheim you could have a 5 wine taster and the staff were great at explaining about the wines. At Leivland you could have 5 or 3 wine tasters, we did 3 and a meat & cheese platter. The grounds here were stunning and we had a lovely lady tell us all about the wines. At Remhoogte we shared their 5 wine taster. It was a fantastic experience and Marchall was funny, friendly and full of information. Loved it!

Fantastic wine tour of the Northern Route in Stellenbosch. Marshall picked us up from our hotel in Stellenbosch and was a very friendly and informative guide. We stopped off at our three chosen vineyards - Simonsig, Delheim and Remhoogte. All were fabulous and we had a charcuterie at Delheim with stunning views down to Table Mountain. Would highly recommend this tour - it was one of the best days on our two week trip to South Africa. Thanks again Marshall! John and Maria.

We had a great tour with Marchell on the Northern route, best by far is Delheim the views were amazing and wines even better! Thank Marchell for getting us back to Spier Farm. Highly recommend.

Very different vineyards, all beautiful. Pickup from Hotel and flexibility en route. Marshal is a terrific guide/driver.

Great value tour made even more special by the tour guide Marchal. Six wineries of which you could do a maximum of 5. But we chose 4 and also included lunch in one.

Not quite sure why this tour gets such good reviews. Maybe depends on your driver? We had a very mediocre experience doing the northern route. The driver failed to show at the appointed time to pick us up, had to get the tourist office ( pick up point) to phone the office to send a member of staff to collect us. We lost our first half hour due to this mix up. En route there was no info given about any of the wineries, history, nothing forthcoming from the driver except to tell us that the last vineyard on the list was closed. Leaflets hadn't been updated with this information. So all in all it was an expensive taxi service. Cost is 450 rand for a day. We squeezed in 3 vineyards in that time.

An excellent day and thank you to MARSHALL for his driving, humour and for looking after us so well throughout the day. A great way to see a few vineyards and not have to worry about the driving.

Marshall was a perfect driver. He made sure everyone was on time, did not feel rushed, and arranged lunch for the group. He has built great relationships with the different wineries on his route that enable a smooth and pleasant tasting g experience.

We did the tour with Marshall who did a great job and was very considerate! He picked us up and even drove us back to our Lodge - thank you again! The wineries are all really beautiful with great wines and amazing staff. As we went in winter we liked Warwick best, they have a wood-fired oven and great food, which creates the most cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The other wine tasting rooms were beautiful but rather chilly. Pack warm things if you are used to central heating ;-)

I loved this tour!!! I went in May 2018 for the WFOT Congress. We went to 6 different vineyards in the Stellenbosch region with cheese and wine tasting! South Africa is a beautiful country!

we had a lovely driver and we managed to fit in 5 wineries and a picnic we were collected for the tour which was handy as we bought so much wine this service is free but you have to request it 72 hours in advance

Our 2nd outing with Marchall!! We did the southern route with Marchall and he was our driver/guide for the northern route as well!! What more can I say about this GREAT guy!! IF you are lucky enough to get Marchall, you'll have a VERY eventful day. Very entertaining young man that makes this tour awesome!! Nice wineries to visits...stop at all six or enjoy a few. That's why it's a hop on hop off van!!

Ronnie was our driver for the Northern route tour and provided lots of information as we went along and kept us entertained with his stories. Loved the wine tasting experience . Also great picnic booked at Warwick on the lawn. Last two vineyards were our favourites 🍷

Great tours of beautiful vineyards. We felt a bit rushed since we only had 1hr at each stop. Wish the service was faster at each vineyard and it would have been nice if we got a tour or could learn more about the history of each location. The bus drivers were incredible at keeping us on time.

Great way to safely visit 4-6 wineries in Stellenbosch under the guidance of a true professional. Marshall drove us throughout the day and was a very safe driver. He had boxes of wine in his van and knew exactly which box went with each person. He was fun, informative and had a passion for Stellenbosch and wine in general. Great experience and highly, highly recommended!!!

It does not say anything, anywhere, where they start is in Stellenbousch. Where are the stops? Especially the start stop. Anyone knows?

Northern route! We chose this because we recognised to of the vineyards. Route was great, a good range of vineyards tbh! We managed to do 4 of 6, we had time for the 5th, but we had enough wine by then! Marshal was great! Funny , helpful and great with time. I would recommend do your research on 6 so you can chose which you prefer of them all, becuase you will not able to do all (they also warn you of this too so it’s no sunrise! )

Great day out. It’s a brilliant way to see some of the vineyards in the area. There was 6 vineyards available but we only managed to get to 4 as we stopped for a couple of hours at Warwick vineyard for lunch. We pre booked the picnic on Warwick vineyards website and it was amazing. Definitely worth the money. Each vineyard charged for the tasters but it average £3 per tasting which included 6 types of wine

Paid for northern 6 vineyard stops/tastings Got only 2 and worse yet, spent an hour and forty minutes getting back to drop-off point. Totally a rip-off. Buyers beware

Marshall was our guide and he was very friendly and engaging. He accomodated us and our needs. We had an awesome lunch at Delheim and the cupcake pairing was awesome. We managed to cover 4 of the 6 farms that were scheduled which was great. Will definitely go back for the Eastern and Southern route.

What a perfect experience! This was our second time using Vinehopper. Even though the website and information card said the Northern Route wasn't available on our preffered day, they made it happen! Our driver Marshall was amazing, he was fun and took good care of us. He dropped us of in front of our AirBnB, great service! The estates itself are all amazing and won't dissapoint you. Also, great timing since you have enough time for a tasting and walk around each estate. When we come back we will do the eastern route, the only one we have not yet done. Would recommend 10/10!

Our driver, Marshall was most welcoming and informative. We enjoyed the experience of hopping on/off. We particularly loved the REMHoogte Estate. We recommend the Wine Tour to anyone who would like to experience tasting excellent wines.

Excellent way to visit some of the beautiful wine estates in the areas surrounding Stellenbosch. Marschall, our driver for the day, was most helpful and imparted a lot of interesting information while driving between estates. Always very punctual on pick up times and the mini-van itself is a great way to meet fellow wine-tasters. We opted for a picnic lunch at the Warwick Estate which was excellent - food, wine, service and setting all beautiful. It was a popular choice so be sure to book ahead - particularly if you'd like a lawn setting. The day can be as short or as long as you'd like, return trips to stellenbosch offered after each pick up (roughly every 45 - 60 minutes). Would recommend starting early as the day passes very quickly!

Pick up and drop off at our hotel in Stellenbosch, in so doing we could enjoy visiting each Estates, spending time learning about the history of the Estates and savoring different wines. Thank you Marcell, our driver, you made us feel safe and relaxed, had some good laughs. Met wonderful travellers (Germany and Belgium) on our way back to the hotel. Each estate is unique along this route, beautiful, staff went the extra mile and so friendly too... Excellent wines... Booked picnic in advance at Warwick estate, such a treat. This was our second day of doing the tour with Vine Hopper. The northern route is mainly red wine vineyards, or at least it was the day that we did it. Things had to change a bit due to the C-19 issues. We were with Marshal again and so pleased that we were. Great tour and great selection of vineyards. Thanks Marshal.

Nice excursion to multiple wineries for tastings with ability to linger for one hour at each. No appetite for wine at dinner later as I had had my fill

What a lovely way to see a selection of wine farms in the Stellenbosch region. We did both the northern and southern routes and enjoyed each one equally. Hp on and off at the farms that take your fancy, have lunch at one that look good and taste as much win as you like without worrying about driving home. Highly recommended and great value for money.

We did Northern & Southern routes, both were brilliant. The service was easy to use and perfect for what we wanted. Marshall the driver was great at entertaining everyone and giving all the info we needed to make sure we went to the right Vineyards for what we wanted, even booking lunch ahead for people. Personal favourite vineyard stops on the Southern Route were Haskell (for views) and Kleine Zalze (for great wine selection and flexibility on what you had since we don’t agree on wines). And on Northern were Simonsig (lovely courtyard brilliant and flexible selection to taste) and Warwick (brilliant lunch if you book a picnic ahead)

We had a perfect day. We got picked up from the hotel, which is essential as you don’t want to drive after the tour. As it was a special holiday, two of the wine estates closed early and our driver had to change his normal route - so at this point I really want to say a big thank you to Glenwood as he changed the whole plan for the day making the route completely individual -still managing to pick us up always on time and with a smile on his face! For us it was a perfect day. By the way - it’s allowed to give a tip in the end! ;)

Vine Hopper was a lot of fun and allowed us to get to many wineries without having to worry about driving. Marshall and all of the drivers were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

With our driver Marchal we've had a wonderful, friendly, knowledged and far beyond all expectations patient driver who where more than on time, picking up all the guests at their stops, even the drunken and most undisciplined ones. We've had a more than good choice to see what we wanted and have been asked more than one time for our wishes. He made arrangements for lunch in advance and introduced as to all vineries so we could start with tastings immediately. Pick ups where always more than in time and if not, what was always due to undisciplined customers (witnessed several times on two days), it was explained in advance or excused afterwards. Also did Ronald, a very friendly and reliable driver on our tour. So vine hopper can be recommended absolutely.

Our driver was Marshall, and he was 100% fun ! The timetable for visiting the vineyards was spot on and we had no problem navigating as many of them as we wished. With a choice of six, we ended up tasting at just three. As Marshall said, we started off tasting the wines, and ended up DRINKING ! A great day out ! Thanks, Marshall.

We had a superb day visiting three vineyards. We had a wine tasting at the first, lunch at the second and drank a superb Cabernet Sauvignon at the third. The whole day was organised perfectly. All the staff at the vineyards were friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. Our driver for the day, Marshall deserves a particular mention. He was so helpful and great fun. We would recommend the Vine Hopper unreservedly you won't regret it.

Easy and safe way to visit multiple vineyards with the luxury of a driver and extra information. We'd recommend to start no later than lunch time so you can make the most out of your time in Stellenbosch!

Great way to start your travels, if you don't much about wine and if you wanna save some money and still enjoy the best... this is the way to go. Best wineries in town

Book early, the popular routes fill up fast. BUT... the wine train is perfect because at many of the wineries, they expect you and take you into a private area for tasting. Completely flexible, you can do one winery or all of them!

<p>My experience with hop on hop off is that there is effectively a continuous service that allows me to get off, spend as much time as I want and get on the next hop on service that arrives. I can then miss a few stops of simply go straight to the end of the service.<br/> This is definelty NOT what the Hop on Hop Off northern vineyards trip is!<br/> You get on and are delivered to a vineyards then later picked up and delivered to the next. A bit different from expectations and experience.<br/> The driver/guide was good and helpful but the loss of flexibility marred our experience of some woeful vineyards that I would not name. Each vineyard presented their wines well but ..<br/> Viator does a great job making bookings avaialble anf the bookings work thanks</p>
