Guided Bike Tour Of Stellenbosch

We had an amazing experience on the tour with our guide Marshall. We learned a lot about Stellenbosch, without being bored with useless facts. After that we had cycled to the first vineyard, which was a bit of a climb but doable. Than we went down for our last wine tasting experience. We had amazing wines, a good amount of information on the wines and overall a great tour. Big shoutout to Marshall!

I had a wonderful morning. Marshall, our guide, was fantastic. I was nervous about hills beforehand but he was very reassuring. The ride was very comfortable, a couple of inclines but nothing a regular cyclist wouldn’t manage. They had already fitted us for bikes and helmets were compulsory. It was great finding out the history of the place and then riding up to the two vineyards. I don’t drink, so Marshall arranged for me to have something else, which was lovely of him. Beautiful setting within the mountains.

Fabulous Customer service, with special mention to Lance - whose guided Bike tour was amazing. His knowledge of Stellenbosch was very good and very entertaining, keeping us in-check all the time. The visit to the Vineyards were excellent - thank goodness for the electric bikes, as the cycle back may have been a little trickier without the assistance:). The following day Lee took us by private mini bus to several other vineyards. His knowledge was astounding and we would definitely use both guides again.

A great but intense bike tour. You get a comfortable mountainbike and you don’t need to be super fit. Our guid Marshall was a great storyteller and fun guy. You learn all about the history of Stellenbosch while also visiting two wine domains. Loved it!

Did this tour with Marshall. He was great fun but always concerned with our safety. Wonderful cycling through the countryside with Marshall who was very informative.

Lance was great in the run up to our tour. Kept in contact and advised us on the bikes we should hire. His knowledge is never ending and has a great passion for Stellenbosch and its heritage. We had electric bikes which were perfect. The group gelled well and we had such a great time and of course the wine tastings en route assisted 😊. On our second day we were fortunate to have had a wine tour with Lee, who again has fabulous knowledge not only on the wine farms and estates but also on the town and South Africa. Both gentlemen are a credit to the company.

We had a private tour for our family of four, guided by the very cool Sebi! We loved hearing about the history of Stellenbosch and visiting the beautiful buildings - Sebi was quick to adapt the route slightly when he realised our daughter's love of athletics. He gave us some great local knowledge especially the sock shop location! The route was beautiful paired with two delightful wine estates. The settings of both was outstanding and the chocolate pairing was a culinary delight. Sebi was friendly, professional and 'there' for all of us throughout the route. A highlight of our South Africa trip. Thankyou.

It was an awesome experience with our great guide Lee! We cycled around in Stellenbosch, slowly heading towards our our main targets: two wine tastings (of which one included chocolates as well). Lee had a lot of nice stories and our group was a fun combination of Dutchies and a young UK-based couple. Our guide Tae (sp?) was excellent who explained history and interesting stories about Stellenbosch. The ride was great on both paved and dirt paths and briefly challenging for this senior as we headed out of town up small hills but doable and worth the effort. The wine tastings were in beautiful locations and the pours generous. Really enjoyed the day with our small group of 6. Thank you!

Half day tour for a family of four. Booking was down easily though our hotel concierge the day before . E bikes were all Giant and in excellent condition. Care taken to fit the bikes and helmets to each of us , and make sure we all knew how to operate them before setting off . Our guide Marchal was great fun and knowledgable about the history of the town . The pace of the tour was tailored to our ability so the teens had opportunity to test their speed and power while the grown ups could take it easier . Had a good look round town , visited a quirky shop and two vineyards with wine tastings at each and chocolate pairings at the last. Finished with a tour of the wine cellars . No pressure to purchase anything, but opportunity if you wanted and info on shipping . All in all a great day out and would definitely recommend.

This is a very special tour that was appropriate for my whole family (I have two teenagers). The history was interesting. The views were great. The wine and chocolate were truly enjoyable and, best of all, our Tour Guide, Sevo, was fantastic!

Excellent tour. A must if you like this type of activity. Great way to get to see SB and some wine estates. Definitely recommend this.

We had such a great time with Michele last Friday! It is a GORGEOUS bike ride up to the two vineyards - through the vines at Lanzerac and then up a slight hill in the mountains up to Stark-Conde, which made it feel like you kind of earn the mid-morning wine drinking haha. The outdoor tasting area at Stark-Conde is beautiful on a little pond with the mountains in the backdrop. The tasting at Lanzerac is actually a wine and chocolate pairing and it was so good! Michele was kind, informative, made good conversation and flexible based on our interests. I would definitely recommend going on this tour with him!

Just back from a wonderful day cycling and learning a little more about Stellenbosch, the cycling onto a couple of wine estates. Our Guide was Marshall and such a great guide around Stellenbosch, and great as a leader up to the wine farms. We had e-bikes which made it a little easier for us, but the pathways were in good condition and the hills not so bad. All in all a really great day and would recommend it to anyone.

Just back from a 5hr expedition including 2 tastings and winery tour of Stellenbosch. There is a reason they score 5/5 on the reviews. Fab day out! Look no further this is the one you have been looking for! You will not be disappointed! For the not so energetic or just plain lazy like me, request an ebike when booking to avoid disappointment. Excellent day , fantastic weather , very knowledgeable guide and insight to the history of Stellenbosch. Mountain bikes were of good quality and maintained plus safety helmets supplied. There were some hills and off-road en route , 17km in total but non too taxing. Lovely stops for two wine tasting /pairing , hence highly recommend.

Great tour including a trip around town to see the sites followed by a visit to 2 vineyards. Our guide (Seve) was very knowledgable and provided many interesting insights about the town and the Western Cape. The vineyards were spectacular and the wines tasted were excellent. A great way to spend over 4 hours, we had a lovely time in the company of some lovely people.

We got so much more than we thought. Not just a ride to drink wine but a detatiled tour of Stellenbosh , with history and then a great ride to taste wines in two wineries. The tour was great but the tour leader Marshall is what made it so special. We had a great time, consumed excellent wine and the history and stops in town were special. Highly recommend.

Great tour of Stellenbosch. We enjoyed the history and both winery visits. The first winery stop included a wonderful chocolate pairing with the wines - who doesn’t enjoy chocolate and wine for breakfast?! Kyle was a great guide.

Had a great day riding round Stellenbosch and visiting 2 vineyards for tasting with Marshall as our guide. He was knowledgable, obviously proud of where he works and was above all great fun and did everything at a pace to suit us. The wine and Chocolate were great.

Very good tour with a one-time experience at two wineries. Marchall our guide was outstanding - would highly recommend to do the tour with him; especially if you want to get to know Stellenbosch and the surroundings in a very efficient time.

What a great intro to Stellenbosch we had! Our guide Sevi was outstanding: knowledgeable, charming, and enthusiastic. He shared so many interesting stories, and has an incredible grasp of the history, geography, and other information about Stellenbosch and the wine industry. The two wineries we visited were terrific, and the tour was an ideal combination of bicyling through Stellenbosch and beyond and wine-tasting. Highly recommend!

We booked our bike tour as a last minute activity the night before and it was certainly a great decision. When we arrived at the Adventure Shop we discovered we were the only two on our tour (myself and my husband) and our guide, Severiano, was quick to sort our bikes and get us on our way. Severiano was friendly and exceptionally knowledgable about the area. In addition to providing the tour he answered our questions on Stellenbosch and also provided some recommendations for our future stops on our South Africa trip. Severiano was also kind enough to add an extra stop on the tour (which was within the planned route) to enable us to buy souvenirs. The wineries were stunning and the bike tour was great fun and was accommodating to our fitness levels. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Stellenbosch, and if you’re lucky you might get Severiano as your tour guide too. Amazing experience that we would do again, we hope to revisit in the near future.

Totally recommend this tour. it's a fun way to visit the wineries around Stellenbosch. Bikes are in good condition and the ride is beautiful. Not very hard. Both wineries we visited were very good.

What a great way to get some exercise, see some beautiful countryside and taste some wines! We were thankfully able to book this last minute and we are so glad that we did. We met our guide, Tayne, at the AdventureShop and proceeded on an informative tour around Stellenbosch. The riding was flat and easy. So nice to learn some history in an active way. On our way to the first winery, we rode through an area of Stellenbosch with elegant homes in many styles. The hill to the first winery made me pedal hard - but it was so worth it. Starke-Conde was a great choice of wineries to include. It was a gorgeous spot and a doable bike ride. After the tasting and time for pictures at Starke-Conde, we returned to the Stellenbosch area to visit the Lanzerac Wine Estate. After sampling their lovely wines and chocolates, Tayne led us on an informative cellar tour. He provided a really good summary of the process without overwhelming us with too many details. We highly recommend this tour to anyone and hope to do it again some day.

The Delaire Graff front office team got the opportunity to experience an E bike tour of stellenbosch town and surrounding areas that turned out to be one of the best experiences yet and so much was learnt and you get to see and experience history with a amazing guide that is full of stellenbosch knowledge that also guides you through the history of town. This is definitely worth trying and also for stellenbosch locals

I can fully recommend this tour. Connecting the exploration of delicious wine, beautiful nature and the interesting local history with a bike tour is absolutely recommendable. I don’t want to go too much into the details of the tour, they are well described, but I want to mention that Sev, our tour guide did an absolutely superb job - he made the local history easily accessible and connected them to the bigger pictures of todays situation of South Africa.

This was a great way to be introduced to the beautiful city of Stellenbosch. Our guide, Seve, was awesome. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and made the experience great. Wine tastings were very fun as well. We recommend highly!

I joined the team from the Adventure Shop for a 3-day e-bike tour from Stellenbosch to Hermanus. Sevo, our guide, is such a well spoken, pleasant guy! Every few kilometers he would brief us on what to expect from the road ahead. It is clear he knows the area like the back of his hand! Johan drove the back-up vehicle, and was always ready with cold water and snacks for the long road. Between the two of them we received só many interesting titbits of information about the environment, wildlife, history and even language origins. On the last night they spoiled us with a tasteful, well presented dinner that represented a typical South African braai. Thank you guys, for being on time, well prepared, endearing, and taking extremely good care of us!

We booked for 6 riders including two 7 year olds. All equipment provided was of good quality and our needs accommodated! Seve, our friendly & knowledgable guide gave us detailed information on the historical land marks in the town before heading out to the vineyards. He was very capable and allowed the 7 year olds to accomplish the 17km ride!! Thanks to the team for a great experience!!

A group of 5 friends recently did a 3 day cycling tour in the Western Cape. We had excellent service from the onset when booking to end of the tour. Veronika managed our booking and dealt with all our queries very efficiently and was always on hand to help with additional requirements. The bikes were a very good spek and the routes were great: varying terrain and challenges and very scenic. Special thanks to our guides Sevo and Johann they really looked after us and were great company. Definitely the best cycling experience I have had and will certainly do this again.

We had a fantastic time exploring Stellenbosch and two local vineyards with Severiano! We did the chocolate and wine cycle tour, and enjoyed every minute. Sev was great, and as it was just the two of us on the tour, he could tailor the it to our interests, and happy to go at our pace. Sev is very knowledgeable about the history of Stellenbosch and the local area, and he gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our trip. We had a great time and would highly recommend this experience, thank you very much Sev!

Sevi our guide was absolutely brilliant. So knowledgeable about the history and the area. Also great with the bikes if we had any problems. The tastings, the scenery were top class. What I would say is turn up in the right gear for mountain biking. It was quite tough at times, a few hills etc so if you are a regular biker no problem but if not particularly fit or adventurous I wouldn’t do it.
