Franschhoek Sip & Cycle Experience Half Day - Private Tour

Abi was an amazing guide we visited 3 wineries and an art gallery we had wine pairings with a choice of chocolate, billtong or Turkish delight. We visited Sir Richard Bransons winery Mont Rochelle with the option of purchasing lunch. The weather wasn’t kind to us However Abi made up for this with his knowledge of the area and beyond. Absolutely fantastic day! The pick up on time and transport to Franschhoek from Cape Town made things so easy for us. And our guide Mandla was just one of the best! The e-bikes were in perfect shape and the route beautiful and fun. And of course, the wines! Mmmmm. 2 tastings, and at each stop you could do a bit of choosing which ones you would like to taste. Can absolutely recommend this company and this tour!

Wonderful bike tour guided by Abi through and passed the vineyards. He arrived on time and gave us a perfect overview of the Franschoek history and current hot spots in the town. Whenever you do this tour and see Abi, feel blessed and enjoy the ride!

A really nice experience with Mandla, our guide, who told us a lot of nice facts about franschoek, South Africa and wines. We really enjoyed our bike tour through the wineries!

Matt took me and my husband on a beautiful ride through some of the vineyards of Franschhoek and we visited two wineries. Matt was very friendly and accommodating and the staff at the vineyards (La Brie and Mont Rochelle) were very informative and friendly. We hadn’t cycled for many years but Matt tailored the ride to our abilities which was great - would highly recommend!

Mándla was a great guide, he provided us a history of the area, it was very insightful. It was fun to ride the bikes in the wine vineyards and stopping in two wineries. The wines were so good, and in our last stop we had cheese !

Cycling is a really fantastic way to see the vineyards and try some wines. Abie our guide could not have been better, informative, fun and encouraging. Well maintained bikes and not a challenging ride.

Abie was a fantastic guide on our half day tour. He gave us a long ride as we were really into the biking. We learned so much from him about the history of the area. We enjoyed the wines at Mont Rochelle and La Bri. It’s a great way to explore the area.

This was our best time in Cape Town (so far) - and I would 100% recommend this for anyone that can ride a bike. Mike took us on the most scenic route through neighborhoods, farms, and vineyards. The tastings were great as well. This is the only way to experience wine country.

Exploring the valley and wineries with Hike and Bike was THE BEST!! We have been to Franschhoek many times and know the area well But doing it with Hike and Bike gave it a Plus Abi our wide was wonderful, professional, knowledgeable and kind. We visited La Bri, Grand Provence and Mount Rochelle all 3 good choices Thank you for a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

A superb 5hr experience! The value for money is exceptional. Door to door pick up/drop off plus bike hire with Matt (very friendly and helpful), private guide (very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful), x2 vineyard tours with excellent wine tasting experience included and an amazing lunch at Richard Branson's vineyard. 2/2.5hrs of fairly easy riding, with a couple of hills that will give a nice challenge to someone with average fitness. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My friend and I absolutely loved this tour! Our guide was amazing and adjusted the tour to our ability and interests. This is such a great way to see and learn about Franschhoek and it’s wine history. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

Matt picked us up at our hotel on time and brought us to Franschhoek to begin our tour. He had brought bikes the right size for us (tiny!) which were easy to ride. You didn't need to be an expert cyclist or super fit for this experience - it's easy going on the flat. The scenery is beautiful and its so peaceful cycling through the vineyards. The wineries are historic and the wines and pairings really delicious. Wine and chocolate especially! We ended with a truly lovely picnic under the trees by a river. Matt was an awesome guide who never tired of our endless questions and we never felt rushed. Highly recommended 😊

My husband and I had an amazing day biking the wineries and backroads of Franschhoek with Matt from Bike and Hike! What an unforgettable way to experience wine tastings and appreciate the environment. We ended the ride with a picnic in the vines and it was absolutely perfect! We appreciate the photos that our guide, Matt, took along the ride. We bike ride all over the world and Bike and Hike is one of the best. They respond quickly to emails and questions; tailor the trip to what you want to do; accommodate the most basic bike riders; provide high quality bikes, and take photos of you along the way.

Matt was an excellent guide. He picked us up from our Cape Town hotel and drove us out to Franschhoek, pointing out landmarks and, as we got closer, vineyards. He gave us a brief history of winemaking in South Africa, and led us on thick-tired bikes on trails between stunning vineyards with mountains on both sides. I wasn’t feeling too well that day, so I went back and rested in the car after one wine tasting (which Matt was very willing to accommodate), and my son and Matt spent the rest of the morning biking. I highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I were blown away by the beauty of the valley. There's just no better way to experience it than on a bike. Bike and Hike were the best, our guide was professional, knowledgeable and lots of fun. We can’t wait for our next visit!
