Wedgeview Country House & Spa

We spent three wonderful nights at WedgeView during our honeymoon, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The setting is simply breathtaking. The photos are beautiful, but they genuinely do not do it justice. Waking up each morning to uninterrupted views of the mountains surrounding Stellenbosch was unforgettable. The property feels wonderfully secluded, peaceful, and immersed in nature. We loved watching the abundance of wildlife around us, especially the beautiful birds soaring overhead. Our room was incredibly spacious, immaculately presented, and featured one of the biggest and most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the Winelands. The staff were absolutely lovely throughout our stay—warm, welcoming, and always happy to share local recommendations that helped make our visit even more special. The restaurant was another highlight. Every meal we had was delicious and surprisingly affordable for the quality on offer. We unfortunately missed one evening when they hosted an outdoor barbecue, but the incredible aroma drifting through the grounds was enough to make us wish we had planned our evening differently! Breakfast each morning was a real treat. Enjoying fresh, delicious food while overlooking the mountains was an experience in itself—quite possibly the most spectacular breakfast view we have ever had. WedgeView is a truly special place, combining luxury, tranquillity, and genuine hospitality. We left feeling completely refreshed and already looking forward to our return. Even though we had terrible weather all weekend, our stay at The Wedgewood Hotel was absolutely fantastic. The hospitality was amazing, the breakfast was really good and the staff they are all so lovely people. The location is perfect, and those cozy fireplaces made everything feel so warm and special. The massage in the spa was outstanding and if you go, you have to book a massage with Jennifer. She is, without a doubt, the best you will ever experience. And to top it all off, when we had a flat tire, two of the Wedgewood team immediately came to help us, within 15 minutes we were back on the road with a new tire. We were so grateful for that kindness and quick support. We truly had the most amazing weekend at Wedgeview.

Greeted by Naomi's wonderful smile, we immediately felt right at home, and ended up spending 3 nights here, instead of 1 as planned! Breakfast is great ~ a buffet, hot options, and you can sit outside on the terrace. (note fancy coffees are extra) Good base for exploring Stellenbosch and about $10 ride into the city for eating and shopping. Beautiful pool and gardens for relaxing, a fridge in the room, 24 hour "honesty bar" & a fireplace to keep cozy as needed! Appreciated their refillable soaps and lotions and we could drink the tap water so no need for plastic bottles! There was a power cut due to vandalism on a nearby property, and they kept us informed, plugged in the emergency light/charger for us and ran the generator to keep the restaurant going. Thank you Ben, Nettie and Naomi for a wonderful experience.

Beautiful rooms with beautiful views over the vineyard and mountains. On a farm with all the local birds singing in the morning. Stunning views. Safe parking. Friendly staff. Enjoyed a stunning breakfast outside under the trees. I will recommend and I will be back
