The cottages are cosy, and worth the price considering how central you are on the Devon valley strip. Plenty wine farms to visit. Daughter absolutely loves the "holiday" house.

Beautiful location, such stunning views! The food and wine was lovely and very affordable. The staff were so friendly especially Sam who went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The rooms were so lovely and so clean. The pool was lovely to and in a great location close to town but with a stunning quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Thankyou, we will be back!
Greetings To the management and staff of The Salene. I would like to express my utmost sincere gratitude and appreciate for excellent quality of service and kindness that me and my family received during our weekend stay at the self-catering cottage 12-14 December 2025. As the winner of your Heritage Day competition we were treated amazingly and we absolutely loved every moment at The Salene. We had the most beautiful and peaceful weekend. From breathtaking views, delicious food and the beautiful cottage. Thank you so much to the restaurant for the braai feast box also that we could use to enjoy a lovely braai. I would also like to specifically thank Hendrik Snyman for organising everything and also the staff at the reception for the welcoming and the friendliness. I would also like to thank the lady from the cleaning staff by the name of Yummy, for her kindness, amazing work and going the extra mile. Thank you once again. We appreciate everything. The self catering chalets are situated away from the hotel against a hill, surrounded by olive orchards. Spacious rooms with everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. Lovely pool and shaded parking. The view is breathtaking. Close to Stellenbosch. Excellent service and security.
We stayed at the Salene for two nights. The rooms are a bit old, but well maintained. The grounds are very beautiful and you have a great view of the mountains. What gave our stay a negative aftertaste was that only filter coffee was included with breakfast. You had to pay extra for cappuccino, etc. When we checked out, we asked for some water for the journey, which we were also charged for. For us, this is stinginess in the wrong place and at €100+ per night simply inappropriate. We will not be coming back.
