One of the worst experiences we’ve had at a wine farm. We did a wine tasting and bought 2 bottles of Sauv Blanc. When we received the bill the bottles were R450! R450 for a bottle of Sauv blanc!!! The drinks menu that was on the table showed R195 and the guy’s explanation was that because we drank the bottle at the table we are paying restaurants prices where if we took the bottle home it would have been R195.. The same bottle!!!! Only now we got ice ? Ridiculous!
Fantastic property, well kept and run. Attentive staff. Beautiful setting. Good base to explore Franschhoek. I would have liked to have an extra day to enjoy the facilities.
Three years in a row, and it keeps getting better. Mont Rochelle is the kind of place that quietly ruins other hotels for you. The staff are the real reason we come back. Everyone is brilliant, top to bottom, and we got upgraded for our loyalty this trip which absolutely did not go unnoticed. That sort of thing sticks. The wine is, predictably, very good. You’re on a vineyard in Franschhoek, so it would be odd if it wasn’t, but still worth saying. Miko restaurant is outstanding. We ate there twice. No regrets whatsoever. It’s the kind of food that makes you go quiet mid-sentence. Already planning year four.
We just stayed here for 7 nights. It was fantastic, relaxed and club house feel. Staff kind and with their own characters not homogenised! Food in the restaraunt was delicious. Anna and Mr. T super attentive l. Fred at the bar a complete gem. Peter a real gent and very cheery. Bronwin in the Spa is the best therapist one could have. Effort at the Winery so knowledgeable and empathetic. Hotel drivers excellent all of them. Elizame the manager very caring and hard working. The rooms super and all of an excellent standard. Also the hotel is well set out so you never feel crowed even when it is full. We can not wait to return. Thank you all MR team you made our wedding anniversary special.
We stayed at Mont Rochelle as part of our honeymoon and had the most phenomenal experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and immediately felt taken care of. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond in their service, professionalism, and friendliness. Whether it was the front desk team, the concierge, the drivers, the spa staff, the breakfast team, room service, or the facilities crew - everyone contributed to an exceptional guest experience. Our room was absolutely beautiful, with stunning views that made our stay feel even more special. The entire Mont Rochelle property is immaculate and thoughtfully maintained. We loved the pool area and workout facilities, and the wine tasting and picnic options were a true highlight of our time there. The breakfast was phenomenal, as well, the main options were delicious and the buffet options were creative and plentiful. It was an unforgettable, truly 5-star experience from start to finish, and we can’t recommend Mont Rochelle highly enough.
