We had a private tour with Jean at the end of January and it was nothing short of exceptional. He showed us a great deal of Cape Town and what it had to offer, gave us advice of what we can go do in the future and was very knowledgeable about what he does. I cannot thank him enough for his hard work!

Great experience. Great guide. Great value for money. Great roads, I'm from Kenya 😅. Will be back with family.
Table Mountain is truly one of the most breathtaking natural wonders I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you arrive, you’re treated to spectacular views — whether you're hiking up or taking the cable car, the journey is just as incredible as the destination
It was really interesting. Jean is so knowledgeable, funny and considerate of his clients. Jean wanted to make sure we were comfortable at all times. If we saw somand wanted to stop and see it, he did. Wonderful man.
The day trip far exceeded our expectations. We were delighted to end up with a private tour, which made the experience even more special. Our guide, Jaun, was amazing—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. There was great flexibility throughout the day, and we were even able to add a wine tasting stop, which was a fantastic bonus. At no point did we feel rushed. The pace was perfect, allowing us to truly enjoy and take in the best of what Cape Town has to offer. Jaun’s energy and enthusiasm elevated the entire experience—it was, without a doubt, the best tour we've ever been on. Highly recommend
Jean was our driver and was very knowledgeable. He took the weather into account and planned our itinerary accordingly. We feel that we have experienced Capetown in-depth. We highly recommend this tour and give Jean our highest praise.
The best choice we made was to do everything on the same day. And the best part of the tour was our guide Jean. Excellent, kind, attentive, he explained every detail of the city to us during the tour and also during the trip. He was with us every minute, and he was also the king of photos! Lucky for those who have Jean as their guide!
Jean was beyond excellent!! Punctual, super knowledgeable, lots of fun, knew all the best spots and how to get the most out of each site. Saw sooo much in one day! It was the BEST!! He knew all the downtown history, geology and sites on Table Mountain, camps bay, Chapman drive, cape of good Hope and penguins and a rock star local restaurant for seafood! I can’t believe all I saw and did!! Jean was warm and friendly and simply delightful!!! HIGHLY recommend his knowledgeable warmth and courtesy! He will make sure you have a memorable day!!!
Jean was THE Best!! Incredibly knowledgeable. Punctual. On time. Courteous. Went far out of his way to accommodate any request. Knew the places and history without exception. Two of us solo women for the day and i had the most memorable day of travel! Absolutely exceptional! Couldn’t believe how much we saw and covered in one day! Table mountain with a fabulous tour on top. Stops at Bo Kaap and orienting us to major sites in Cape Town. Then off to Cammps Bay and Chapman Peaks Drive. Lots of stops to take it all in and photograph. Wonderful Nordhoek for coffee and chatting with folks. Then Cape of Good Hope and the lighthouse and penguins and ostriches. It will be the best day of travel you’ve ever had! Jean is fantastic!! Hire him without hesitation!! Brilliant! He is a wealth of knowledge and has an engaging kind warm personality.
Jean Marie was our awesome tour guide during our Cape Town tour with my friends. He took us to these wonderful and adventurous places; Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope and we also went to the penguins. It was a wonderful tour we had and our tour guide was very informative.
We had a good experience in a bus tour at Table Mountain, I saw the penguins for my first time and amazing views and nature at Cape of Good Hope .
Jean-Marie took me and my friends to Table Mountain, Penguins and cape of Good Hope recently (March/2025) and he was the best guide, very knowledgeable and open to amswer all questions we had. The best tour we've ever had.
We were lucky to have Jean Marie as our guide during our trip to Cape Town, and it was an incredible experience! He is not only very professional and passionate about his city but also extremely friendly, fun, and flexible. We got to discover much more than expected and had truly unique moments. Always smiling and helpful, he adapted to our wishes and even made it possible for us to do activities outside the planned itinerary (paraglading, quad, market). An exceptional guide that I highly recommend! Flo
I am writing to formally complain about the Golden Eagle Travel & Tours team based in Cape Town, South Africa. On March 10th, I booked a Table Mountain, Cape Good Hope, and Boulder Beach Small Group Tour via Viator. Unfortunately, this was the worst tour I have ever experienced due to several mishaps and mistakes by our tour guide, Albert. Firstly, Albert was over an hour late, and there was a lack of communication from the tour company. We had to call several numbers to reach someone. Although the delay was due to the tour bus breaking down and heavy traffic in Cape Town, Albert was neither welcoming nor apologetic upon arrival. Instead, he instructed us to jaywalk across a busy street to board the bus, which was illegally parked. For the first 15 minutes, Albert did not speak to any of the passengers, leaving the bus in silence. After picking up the last person, he explained the situation, which we understood. However, he then singled out my friend in front of the entire group, repeatedly asking if she was okay in a tone that made us extremely uncomfortable. My friend even begged me to book another tour. I want to preface this by saying I had a wonderful experience on a similar tour with Viator last year. I often travel to Cape Town due to my husband's job and was excited to show my friends around. Unfortunately, this tour quickly turned into a nightmare. Throughout the tour, there was a lack of information about the historical sites we visited. When Albert did provide information, it was difficult to follow. Additionally, he continuously made stereotypical and geopolitical slurs and jokes about various nationalities, which made everyone uncomfortable throughout the day. At Boulder Beach, Albert left the group unattended for 10 minutes to look for a tour member who was already with us. He did not inform anyone why he left and handed the van keys to two group members, leaving us confused. At Cape Good Hope, there was a long queue due to our late start. Albert blamed the delay on the 10 minutes he spent searching for the missing person, who was with us the entire time. As a result, our time at Cape Good Hope was cut short from 2 hours to 1.5 hours. Albert instructed us to meet him by the benches near the funicular ticketing area. When my friend informed him that we were still waiting for our food and might be 5 minutes late, he reassured us not to worry. Despite this, we were only 2 minutes late, but Albert arrived 30 minutes late and blamed us Americans for the delay. He falsely claimed he had told us to meet at the bus and shifted the blame onto the tour group members instead of taking responsibility for his actions. The final straw was when Albert stopped the bus to look at a township in Hout Bay. I am aware that stopping at townships is considered inappropriate and unsafe. This made me extremely uncomfortable, as these are people's homes and neighborhoods. I shared this incident with my husband's South African friends, who agreed it was highly inappropriate. I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, especially as I have worked in the service industry for 8 years. However, our experience with Golden Eagle Travel & Tours and Albert was so awful that I felt compelled to report these incidents to Viator and request a refund, as the tour was not worth the several hundred dollars we paid. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Jean was the guide for this trip and would rate him as excellent. I was travelling solo and he was very courteous and extremely knowledgeable. Be prepared for quite a long day, but you are rewarded with spectacular views and Jean knew the best spots to take your photos. In summary excellent and absolutely no hesitation in recommending him for your tour
Best tour and guide ever! Do not hesitate to book. Our guide Armando was the best guide I’ve had on a tour thus far. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Makes it fun but informative and you will definitely get your moneys worth with him. I will do this tour everytime I am in Capetown!
We had such a fantastic experience on this day trip with Jean Marie! Though this was supposed to be a small group tour, we got lucky and ended up being alone on this tour, which meant that Jean Marie tailored the experience to what we were looking for. He was a fantastic tour guide, teaching us about the history, geography, landscapes, and cultures of Cape Town and the entire area. And we truly saw everything! Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope, penguins, Bo Kaap. He took great photos and had great recommendations for things to do outside of the tour as well. Highly recommend this tour if you’re a first timer exploring Cape Town and highly recommend Jean Marie as a tour guide!
We experienced so many aspects of this fascinating City of Cape Town. Truly stimulating and engrossing. The trip was var
We booked a small group tour and turn out to be just the two of us with Jean as our guide. From start to finish Jean was knowledgeable, friendly, the best photographer and the perfect host. He even did a stop at the pharmacy on the way back to our hotel as one of our party wasn't feeling well. High lights of the tour were Table Mountain, Boulders Beach Penguins, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point but we did so many amazing stops I can't even list them all. Jean even made us a booking at a delicious seafood restaurant for lunch with great views. Cant recommend enough because of our guide!
The trip was very well planned, we managed to carry out all the planned activities and our guide Jean was spectacular in all his explanations. Whoever's in Cape Town for a day can't lose!
