As first-time visitors, we wanted to understand South Africa's history. Robben Island delivered. The entire experience was smooth from hotel collection to drop off. The former political prisoner who guided us through the prison was articulate and brave. He answered questions honestly and made the history come alive. This tour deserves more than 5 stars.

The organisation was perfect, and the ferry ride gave us such beautiful views of Cape Town. But honestly, nothing compares to standing in Nelson Mandela's cell and hearing a former prisoner speak about resilience and hope. It's heavy, but it's important. Definitely one of those experiences you need to go into with an open heart.

The morning ferry was lovely with great views of Table Mountain. The video and bus tour gave solid context, but listening to the former political prisoner speak about loneliness, resistance and hope really hit me hard. There were moments I had tears in my eyes. It’s not an easy tour, but it’s an important one. HYM made everything stress-free.
