Private Full-day Tour To Robben Island And Table Mountain

We customized tour to spend more time in Bo-Kap and a walking tour of downtown rather than go to Table Mountain.

The private tour with Armando was as if having a long time friend, new one found, in Cape Town. He was personable, knowledgeable and shared his city with enthusiasm.

There was nothing wrong with the arrangements and the pick up, but the Island tour was cancelled at short notice due to bad weather and the mountain tour was cancelled due to a fire in an electric car battery in their garage. We can’t really fault the arrangements but we can’t comment on the tours.

Jean-Marie was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and took very good care of us. Table Mountain was closed, so that was disappointing, but he suggested Kirstenbosch Gardens instead and provided an excellent tour of the gardens as a substitute.

What an easy and interesting travel day! Jean-Marie was our guide and he picked us up and dropped us off right from our hotel! He had so much energy, excitement, enthusiasm, that you couldn’t help but get super excited for the day. We began with a trip to robben island where we took the ferry and then explored the island on a guided bus tour and then got to have a tour of the prison told by a guide who was formerly imprisoned on the island! Fascinating! Then we opted to shop instead of eat lunch and Jean-Marie was happy to accommodate! Then we traveled up to table mountain on the cable car and just as we were about to leave the clouds parted and we were able to see the majestic sights of Cape Town! Truly an amazing tour and we felt very well taken care of!

What a great guide we had. My first ever guided tour with my partner. I had a fantastic tour with a very skillful and cool guide. I truly recommend them whenever you visit cape town, you won't regret it.

When we booked the Tour I read all the reviews previously and it was clear that guide Jean-Marie was Loved by all- so I was very excited when he was our guide-without a doubt he now has two new people that love him!! Jean-Marie’s Excellent knowledge of Cape Town and all the area from historical, folklore, flora, present day Definitely made the trip interesting and was so appreciated but the Most important aspect of guide Jean- Marie was his authentic caring and great heart which enabled us to have of our BEST experience ever with a tour guide-You could see his joy in making sure that all our needs and special requests were met-He definitely goes more than the distance and lived up to all Positives in his reviews -PLUS +++++Zion/Viator You have a sparkling Gem in Jean-Marie!!!!!

Great views from the Mountain and Robben Island tour by ex-political prisoners who endured such harsh and torture was very moving and hopefully the world will never forget.

This is not a private tour and should not be advertised as such. We were picked up by a guide who esstially dropped us off at the docks. The tour to Robben Island was delayed, due to technical difficulties so we spent at 1-1.5 hours waiting. We were told by our guide that we would be met by a guide like him on the island. When we arrived that was not the case. We were just part of the general tour. We called our guide and he assured us that the rest of the tour was "private". Upon returning from Robben Island our guide drove us to Table Mountain, rode with us to the top, should us a model of the mountain, a picture of an animal and said he would meet us back at the tram to depart. Besides picking us up and getting our tickets in advance, this was not a private tour. His manner was very abrupt and I often felt like we were an inconvenience to his day.

We did this tour on our first full day in Cape Town. It was an extremely powerful experience that I highly recommend for all visitors to Cape Town. Our guide Armando was amazing! Prior to departing for Robben Island he gave us a lot of history about the island and the prisoners that were held there. Upon our return, it was too windy to go up on Table Mountain so instead Armando took us out for and wonderful lunch and gave us a guided tour of Cape Town full of history and important landmarks. It was an emotional day, but a very important day and an absolute must do when you are in Cape Town.

Armando our guide was fabulous and worth every cent of the trip. Great guy and great company. A super day trip in Cape Town.

Our personal rep Armando was just great from the moment he picked us up until we were dropped off back at our hotel. Robben Island was very interesting and worth a visit. Armando took to a super spot for lunch and we had a luxury chauffeur driven tour of Cape Town before going up Table Mountain. No queues. Fabulous day and a great guide. Well done.

Mazenga was a great guide! On time and he stayed with us while went to the top of the mountain. I especially appreciated his professionalism :- he reaches out true day before to introduce himself, confine pick time and share tickets. All of which was helpful for a very smooth sailing day.

Armand was exceptional. He was very patient, personable and very accommodating. He was very educational and informative about the capetown and the robben island and the table mountain. I truly enjoyed him.

On arrival I was told that there were no ferries or cable cars operating so I would be refunded in full. I paid the tour guide for morning tour of part of Cape Town. No refund has been received and no response to my email.

We had an amazing day on our tour of Robben Island and Table Mountain. Everything went extremely smoothly, our tour guide messaged me the day before so we knew what to expect and was at our hotel at 8am to pick us up as agreed. Our guide, Mazenga, was very welcoming and friendly and took us to the Quay side for the boat to Robbin Island. All the tickets had been organised and sent directly to my phone so we were straight on the boat, Robben Island itself is fascinating and the tour is split into two parts, the first is on a bus where you driven around the Island and given the history, The second part is in the prison itself and led by an ex political prisoner who gives you personal insight to what life was like there. When the boat got back to the Quay Mazenga was there to meet us and took us to Cable Mountain via Bokaab, which is the Muslim area with brightly coloured houses. Once again Mazenga sent the tickets for the cable car to Table Mountain directly to me so we didn't have to queue for tickets and we were quickly on the cable car. The views from Table Mountain are spectacular and the floor of the cable car rotates so it doesn't matter where you stand as you'll still get an amazing view. Mazenga escorted us up on the cable car and then went down to meet us when we came down. We didn't feel rushed or hurried and could spend as much time as we wanted up there. All in all a really enjoyable day and everything ran really smoothly.

We had a fantastic day touring Robben Island and then Table Mountain. A little mixup with the timing for the tickets to Robben’s Island made us readjust our schedule a bit but no issues with that. We just had breakfast before we went rather than lunch when we got back. Ellie was full of knowledge and accompanied us around the top of Table Mountain. At the end of the tour, despite it being over the allotted time, Ellie drove us through the city providing commentary to the different areas and suggestions for great food.

This tour was absolutely phenomenal! Don’t miss out on this one! Our house Armand was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. As we drove to the ferry, he provided history on the town and also pointed out the various landmarks on our way. He gave us the run down of how the day and tour would go and then escorted us to the ferry. Upon our return from Robben Island, we told him we wanted to buy a few spices. He took us to Bo Kaap which is neighbor lined with beautiful & colorful architecture. In the area, we went to a lovely spice shop. After the spice shop, he took us to Table Mountain where we rode a cable car to the top and he took us on a guided tour around the mountain pointing out neighborhoods and landmarks for us to view on each side of the mountain. Lastly, Armand took us to a market where we bought various souvenirs. It was perfect as we were able to find everything we wanted. I am so happy I booked a private tour as this was the best experience with the most amazing host!

Our tour guide Elie picked us promptly at our BnB. He was so professional, knowledgeable and patient. He shared very interesting stories on the way. He assisted in capturing the best pictures of me and my husband. We had so much fun and learned a lot. Highly recommend Elie. Visiting the table mountain and Robben Island was the best experience 👌

This trip did not go ahead. It was cancelled due to issues in cape town. We are still waiting for refund and absolutely no response .Awful service

Very good and informative tour. The bust tide was good even though we were warned about motion sickness. The guide on the bus was well versed and made us all feel comfortable before we were exposed to the ugliness of apartheid regime prison life. The former inmate was pretty matter of fact and not as emotional as I would have expected after spending 18 years behind those bars. I wondered how stupid the guards must have been to allow so much to go on under their noses, including Mandela writing a book and getting it out piece by piece. Unfortunately, the clouds didn’t cooperate at Table Mountain, so all we experienced was the Table Cloth at the top. Views were spectacular 1/2 to 2/3 up, but at the top we couldn’t see anything but fog.

The tour was amazing, a day to remember forever. Going to Robben Island so inspirational and Table Mountain magnificent. The tour organised by Zion is strongly recommended and my guide Elie is knowledgeable, polite and went the extra mile to render this event unforgettable

Robben island is a sad story of prisoners mostly political including Nelson Mandela...inspite of this views of Cape town are perfect also from Table mountain

The tour didn’t happen as all the Robben island tickets were already sold out. My money was though taken & I have yet to receive a refund as promised.

Was a great tour. Whilst the island was closed due to weather we swapped to cape of good hope and really enjoyed the day.

Really enjoyed my day and the weather was perfect for the views at Table Mountain. Fiston was my guide/driver and all communications in advance and on the day was spot on. He was on time, had all my rebooked tickets and explained the general history of Cape Town. He gave me tips of things to see and do, food to try and was generally really professional and friendly. It was the right amount of time but it would have been good to have a guide at the top of Table Mountain. Bo-Kaap was lovely to see and I will try and go back to the galleries there. Overall, the car was clean, comfortable and in very good condition. I would definitely recommend this tour and it is very good value for money.

Going to Ruben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned was inspiring because what he accomplished after getting out of there is amazing. Table mountain was breathtaking and make sure you take a lot of photos! I wish the tour guide would walk with you on the mountain to explain things and also by Bo Kaap!

I travelled with my partner and had the best time being guided by Fiston. Fiston was on time to pick up and dropped us to Robben Island with prebooked tickets. The tour of Robben Island was informative and we were guided by a former prisoner, what a humbling experience. Our next step was Table Mountain where we also had prebooked tickets, Fiston was really lovely in showing us the sights and explaining the composition of Cape Town from the top! We ended the day with a local Cape Town city tour of Bo Knap and was able to get back to the hotel at a timely manner. Would highly recommend this trip, great hosts and super smooth planning.

Fiston was a very helpful and flexible guide, always heloimg with everything, very friendly and knowledgeable. Even though there was a problem with tickets being sold out for Robben Island, they made sure to solve it and took initiative. Learned quite a lot in one day and saw amazing places in Cape Town! An incredible & unforgettable tour of CT especially Bo Kaap where my 90 year old dad was born. Thank you for driving him to see the actual house where he was born, then onto the family home for 36 years (1955 - 1991) & also his old school. You made a 90 year old man very happy. Awesome experience, from the boat ride to the tour of the island, to the cells where Mandela, Kathrada and many others were incarcerated. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. One of them was imprisoned there for eight years. On Table Mountain: the view from the top will take your breath away. Its an amazing experience. One you will never forget.

The boat tour in hout bay was amazing! Lunch in Simonstown was very delicious. Jacques was a very pleasant and courteous guide.

I had a wonderful and educational private tour with Joe. He provided the tickets, drove us to each location and then picked me up to go to the next. I felt very safe and made a good friend in this beautiful city. Would highly recommend.
