The Suburb is also Known for some of the most expensive and exclusive cliffside properties and modern architectural villas in Africa.

It does act as the primary departure point for seal-watching cruises and glass-bottom boat trips to nearby Duiker Island (Seal Island) our guests will be given the opportunity to either catch a 45-round trip boat cruise to see thousands of wild cape fur seals or stroll down the docks to spot the resident seals swimming right near the quay. It is part of Table Mountain National Park and a prominent landmark in the Cape Floral Region. It marks the southwestern corner of the African continent, though it is not the southernmost point of Africa (that distinction belongs to Cape Agulhas, located about 150 km southeast). The Portuguese navigator Bartolomeu Dias first sighted it in 1488 and named it the "Cape of Storms"; it was later renamed the Cape of Good Hope by King John II of Portugal. The Cape tour with Mathieu was amazing. He was very informative and gave us many facts about Cape Town and the peninsula. We enjoyed also discussing about contemporary life in South Africa. He respected our times and we could enjoy each stop.
Flor Africana provided our private Cape Peninsula Tour. Our Guide/Driver Mathieu went above and beyond to show us the beautiful landscapes, provided history about each stop, and gave us time to explore on our own at each stop. Some of the things we saw were penguins, deals, lighthouse, beautiful cliffs with the ocean below. He was very friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. I will use them again next time I’m in Cape Town.
Our guide Isaac made our day! We have had an exzellent trip with a careful driver. He showed us 1. Class spots and gave us all important information. Thanks again. We loved it!
Matthew of Flor Africana made our time in Cape Town absolutely unforgettable. From the stunning views at Table Top Mountain to exploring the Cape Peninsula and the powerful experience of visiting Robben Island every moment was thoughtfully curated and flawlessly executed. Matthew’s professionalism, warmth, and passion for Cape Town shines through in everything he does. Matthew has the ability to tailor the day to your interests while making you feel completely at ease. If you are looking for more than sightseeing - if you want an immersive, thoughtful and unique experience then I highly recommend Flor Africana you will not be disappointed. I am beyond grateful for the memories he helped create..
Mathieu was absolutely amazing during our time in Cape Town. He took us all over with such care and professionalism. He was kind, very knowledgeable, and had a great way of talking with everyone in the car. He anticipated what we needed before we even asked. Honestly, he was one of the highlights of our trip as we moved from one experience to the next.
This is the second trip with family to Cape Town - absolutely loved it!! Thank you Matheiu and team from Florafricana. Loved it!!
Our tour with Flora Africana was simply perfect. Mathieu is an outstanding guide who not only shares his deep knowledge but also relies on a great network of local guides and people, making it possible to discover places and secrets in a truly authentic way. For us — my wife, myself, and our two children aged 7 and 9 — it was an unforgettable experience. We were warmly welcomed, and the activities were perfectly tailored both to the kids and to us as adults. Everything was engaging, meaningful, and always punctual. Highly recommended.
We had a really lovely experience with Matthew from the airport to all the spots we visited. Matthew is knowledgeable of Capetown and its history. He was very patient and friendly with us and our 3 restless kids! He also took his time to take some marvelous photos for us in the key areas.
This is a must trip to see these places! Our driver was excellent and the restaurant at Cape of Hood Hope was delicious with an amazing view

Mathiew has been a passionate guide, he accompanied us with a modern van in Cape Town, telling us along the way about history. A stop at the wonderful beach , a trip to see the pinguins and at the Cape of Good Hope under his watchful eye. He's very attentive and helpful with us , a group of 13 italian people. Don't hesitate to contact him for your trip from Cape Town airport and for all your travels during your holidays
The whole ride is really fun! Starting from the penguins beach, which is an enchanting place to interact with up to the mountains in Cape Point with a breathtaking view and a beautiful landscape. Ending up with the Cape of the Good Hope!
Mathieu was a wonderful guide! Very responsive throughout the planning process and then knowledgable and engaging on the tour. He tailored the tour to our interests and pointed out activities we probably wouldn’t have done on our own. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience, very accommodating and great insight into the history of the place , as well as the geography and the nature that surrounded us
The tour was really good. Mattew was a perfect guide: he showed us the most beutiful places of the peninsula, he answered to our questions and curiosities and he also told us many things about South Africa and its culture
They bring us for a day in one of the best place of the word. They are excellent very professional. I suggest this guide.
I’m not sure where to start, so I will start with the end, we are now family! ❤️ South Africa is a beautiful place, with beautiful people and culturally rich & profound! We spent the weekend with Mathieu touring all the sites, sharing stories about our cultures, learning so much from each other…and I believe that was the most amazing part! We found that we have so much in common even though we live worlds apart, hence, making the world a smaller place. Now, to the overall encounter and trips we planned. We chose the Aquila safari one day, which was spectacular being so up close and personal with the animals. The people, guides, attendants and servers were so gracious and hospitable! It is a 9 hour day as it is 2 hours from Cape Town, and Mathieu didn’t hesitate to spend the day with us and sharing insights on the journey to/from the safari. Day 2 was the highlights of Cape Town, which I customized a bit. Mathieu was very generous with his time & flexibility and ensured that we got the most out of the day site-seeing all the spots. Chapman’s Peak, Boulder’s Beach, Cape Point & Cape of Good Hope. He even squeezed in a special treat, a sea lion, off the beaten path. What a beautiful experience, sharing so much rich culture & history with Mathieu & my family! We also booked the airport transfers with him. Which in hindsight turned out to be the best option for us, as there was an ongoing taxi strike and disruptions during our time there and he was able to get us to/from very safely. Honored & humbled to have met Mathieu! He is now a friend for life! ❤️
This private tour was incredible!!! Matthew was kind, respectful and very informative. We toured Chapmans Peak, Boulders Beach and The Cape of Good Hope. The views were magnificent. The drive was comfortable and the guide made the day!!!!
Back in 2017 when is was living in Good wood I met Mathew for the first time, and went on a lot trips with him, as wine tasting and down to Cape Point. I went back to Cape Town in 2023 with my boyfriend, and luckily Mathew had started his own company. We did appreciate Mathew taking us out for our lodge, to Cape point, Simons Town, and he also drove us to the airport in the middle of the night when we arrested on our way home. Mathew are an excellent guide who knows a lot about history, politics and cultures. He is also very kind and interested in other people and their culture/lives. He understands how to make the trips safe. We can only give Mathew and his team the best recommendation. We can not wait to be back and let Mathew take us around again. Thank you so much to Mathew and his team.
Extremely nice gentleman with good knowledge of the history of Cape town and its surrounding areas. Also very flexible and accommodating, We were so happy with our tour we arrange for Mathiue to send us to the airport too. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful experience with Mathieu and Floraafricana shuttle and tours. Was in Cape Town for 8 days late Sept 2022 thinking about buying a house. Needed a driver to drive us from town, through the various neighborhoods in Cape Town and along the coast line (about 7 hours). Excellent day, good company and very informative. Mathieu is well connected at all the places we wanted to go. He is very professional, trustworthy, helpful, fair, reasonably priced, and fun. I booked all my in town travel, shopping and airport runs with this company for the remaining 7 days. Have already notified them for my upcoming visit to Cape Town. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommended this company for your tour and driving needs.
Very reliable tour operator, with a deep knowledge of the area. Highly recommended both for tours in the city and for the wine area or to go and explore the Cape or the Garden route. Highly recommended
It was amazing , I recommend everybody. Very professional and friendly team. Thank you very much 😊👍
Great professionalism combined with an unforgettable experience
The tour experience with a local guide was exceptional and I highly recommend it because it is the only way to give a voice to those who have never had one. Perfect organization.
Nice stay nice surroundings
We had a fantastic day with mathieu, very knowledgeable and much discussed much seen of the highlights. Penguins in boulders beach, over the chapmans Peak road towards Cape the good hope. A beautiful road with a lot of history. The climb to the lighthouse is definitely worth it for the beautiful view you get. We were with a family of 4 people,2 children aged 14 and 16 years. In full consultation mathieu has granted our wishes for the day. Really an absolute must for everyone!!!!
Yeah, fine. Helpful. Knows the right places. Give us information on where we're going. Speak French and English.
Well organized tour, with friendly and helpful guide. Experience that I recommend especially for the human value and for showing us not only tourist attractions but the true face of South Africa (eg Langhe)
A very good experience, where with Mathieu, we could see the penguins and get to the cape of good hope. And on the way to see other animals. Matthew as a really top guide. He knows a lot of things and has also been able to speak to us in French so that we can understand even better. Really a nice experience that I recommend.
A wonderful long day thanks to Mathiew who after picking up at the hotel took us to see one of the most spectacular South African scenery. Not only did we visit the most suggestive places with surprise stops - the lunch and the location of the wine house was really super! - but we received detailed 360-degree information to enjoy the wonderful scenery and at the same time grasp the environmental, tourist, economic and social challenges facing South Africa. A very competent, attentive, professional, friendly guide. Thank you Mathiew!
Great little town. You can not walk on the ocean, visit the Cape of Good Hope and the cute penguins ...also carve out time for places that tell the sad story of Aparthaid
Thank you Trips and Mirages! Exciting experience, which touched and took into account various aspects from the most human such as visits to various schools and local associations, to the naturalistic part full of surprises and wonders. Not least the opportunity to get to know more closely by interfacing with the local population, the socio-economic and cultural situation of a fascinating country as well as full of contradictions. We left with my Husband, after so many years that we did not travel with organized groups, we were pleasantly involved by the excellent planning of the Guide Paola, valuable at every stage of Trips, who transmitted to us all her passion for solidarity travel and for SOLE association, for which she and her Husband dedicate body and soul and that I will have the pleasure of supporting. Last but not least a thank you to the beautiful group that traveled with Us, enriching us with stories and narratives that made every day pleasant and full! See you soon!
Excellent organization and professionalism. Matthew provides excellent service and comprehensive explanations of the places visited. Highly recommended
Fantastic trip with some stops along the way to see a picturesque port, a panoramic road, a dream beach… and during the trip Matthew explained the places they visited very well to us
We highly recommend the services of Matt and Flor Africana. For years we have relied on him for our trips to Cape Town and the peninsula. We will be back in a few minutes!
Departing from Cape Town in the direction of Cape of Good Hope with a great minibus, Matthew told us many interesting things about South Africa during the trip, I find that he is a special person who in addition to being a guide, also takes care of some activities for the most needy. Once you reach the Cape the landscape captivates you, beautiful. Beautiful walk among plants and bushes with a beautiful view overlooking the sea. We returned to the bus along a nice well-marked path, where we met some animals: ostriches and antelopes (or similar I can't remember the name) beautiful view. Highly recommended
