Itinerary
We begin the snorkeling experience at our center in Glencairn where you will be briefed and fitted with equipment. The chosen snorkeling location is weather dependent as we want to be sure to select the best location in terms of visibility and calmness for the day. If ocean conditions are favourable then we might snorkel at our local kelp forest in Glencairn. However, most days we go to Windmill Beach in Simons Town. All locations are shore entries. We do not use a boat. Depending on the location, we may encounter fish, octopus, a variety of shy sharks, sea stars, anemones, brittle stars, abalone and other wonderful creatures. We have on occasion been curiously eyed by passing seals, stingrays and penguins. It is always a surprise and we never know what the ocean will reveal. Our guides will help you enter the water, get comfortable with your equipment, point out interesting marine life and provide a buoy to hold onto if needed. After we are done snorkeling, we debrief and change into our clothes. Participants have the option of departing from the snorkeling site if they have their own vehicle or accompanying us back to our center in Glencairn.

This was an absolutely incredible experience! Snorkeling through the kelp forest felt like being in a different world. We were lucky enough to see a pyjama shark, octopus, starfish, and beautiful sea shells. The guides were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt safe and comfortable in the water. Their knowledge and enthusiasm really added to the trip. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend this—it’s a must-do for nature lovers!
Jayd is highly professional and very experienced in the marine environment, and very friendly service
Amazing day Kelp diving - our guide Liam was so helpful and knowledgeable about the marine life. We saw sharks, jellyfish, starfish and an octopus! The equipment was warm and buoyant so it would be easy even for beginner swimmers. Would massively recommend to any Cape Town visitors!
Rex gave us an excellent snorkeling session. The spot is beautiful and suitable for all levels, even beginners. He takes the time to explain what we are seeing with clear and simple terms, which makes the experience even more interesting. Highly recommended!
Great experience. Our guides Rex and AJ were super helpful and showed us loads of interesting wild life. Good gear. Amazing environment. Saw octopus and a range of shy sharks. Would recommend.
We had so much fun and we were able to see some cool marine life! JP was a great guide and we would definitely recommend this activity to others!
Very professional support, good quality of equipment. Highly recommended for beginners snorkelling. Cute cat in the office
We had a phenomenal time! The guides JP and Julian did a fantastic job helping us out and showing us all sorts of fascinating things! DO THIS TOUR!! absolutely worth every penny!
The swimsuits make you very comfortable in the water and the instructors are very helpful. Beautiful worthwhile expirience overall.
Had a great time in the kelp forest with the team that hosted us. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Would recommend.
We had a great day with the Cape Town Freediving team. We had booked a snorkeling outing in advance and arrived at the centre to be fitted out with wetsuit, fins, mask and snorkel. These were boxed up and we were given a brief briefing before heading off to our snorkeling site (you could catch a lift but we elected to take our own car). We spent an hour in the sea and found it fascinating. Our guides were good and pointed out a range of amazing animals and kept an eye on us. We left our gear after the snorkel and headed home; receiving a video link with a number of clips from our trip. All is all it was solid. A few area to develop - great if guides could introduce themselves. Maybe some sort of yea / coffee / biscuits on arrival; and ideally after the snorkel when everybody is a bit cold and had some time in the sea. Lastly; and auto email reminder 24 hrs before just to set the tone and confirm the activity would have been appreciated.
The tour was amazing, saw a lot of marine life. Chris was a very knowledgeable guide. Definitely recommend this tour
Absolutely amazing time exploring the kelp forest and made friends with the guide! Really enjoyed the experience and would recommend!
Lovely, friendly, informative staff who explained clearly how best to snorkel amongst the kelp and were extremely informative and knowledgeable of the marine life within. They guided us to see elusive octopi, many beautiful fish, starfish and coral. Despite windy conditions we were able to see a wonderful array of mariner life. A unique memorable experience. As a solo female traveller I would highly recommend!
After being so nervous to attempt this experience, I absolutely loved it. The staff were incredible, reassuring. The overall experience of this trip was amazing. Equipment up to date. Saw loads of fish, urchins a small shark. Will definitely book again soon.
It was my first time snorkelling. The people were very nice and always available to help. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
Awesome vibe, really chill to float between the kelp en see all the different life! JP and his team are experienced and give great information.
Professional, friendly and accommodating. Everybody we interacted with was all of those three things. Snorkeling with this company will be on my list everytime we go to Capetown from now on.
Chaotic experience due to poor communication before and there! On location t was messy (took 45min) and it turned out that we had to drive half an hour with our own car to the place where we went snorkeling (Kommetjie). There it took t for the group of 14 (instead of max 10) to finish while we had to wait in the heat with a mega thick wetsuit. Not to do and then walk again to the beach. All in all, eea came across as clumsy. The hour snorkeling in the kelp forest was certainly beautiful, but hardly seen animals. No point but not what we expected.
Great diving, which we could enjoy thanks to the preliminary brief that presents us what we crossed (fish, seaweed forest, octopus, abalone, starfish, pyjama shark ) and seal puppy on its rock. Equipment provided perfect; Good Price quality ratio
