This tour was amazing! Henri was an amazing guide. So fun, so engaging, and so knowledgeable about the wineries. All the wineries are smaller which makes for a more personalized experience and the pours are heavy! Lunch is included at one of the wineries and everyone in the group loved what they got. Highly recommend this tour!

Simonsig Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa. It is very popular for Method Cap Classique. South African sparkling wines are made in the traditional French method (methode champenoise) and are referred to as Methode Cap Classiques or MCC's. Here you will enjoy a cellar tour, sabrage, wine tasting and local delicacies such as our South African biltong and "dry wors"
Enjoy a private wine and cheese pairing with the winemakers in their private home, dining room and cellar
Middelvlei Estate, known for its hospitality and special farm atmosphere, offers a personal, unforgettable and authentic Stellenbosch Winelands experience. Here you will enjoy a wine tasting, barrel tasting and traditional, South African lunch known as a gourmet "Braai"
This is a beautiful, boutique winery
Stellenbosch is a university town in South Africa's Western Cape province. It's surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. The town's oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Cape Dutch architecture gives a sense of South Africa's Dutch colonial history, as do the Village Museum's period houses and gardens

Absolutely brilliant tour as recommended to us, a great bunch of people. Started out like a quiet coach tour, but by our 3rd vineyard everybody was chatting merrily. The guide was very good, and went out if his way to look after us.
Excellent day the guide Yaz was knowledgeable and very helpful. Great day out highly recommend
We really enjoyed this tour. The guide, Yaz, was knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour. He chose an excellent variety of places to visit. The scenery and the wines were both unparalleled.
It was great experience. Our guide told us great stories of the places we visited, wine we tasted and history. We have tried plenty of delicious wines.
Thank you wine flies abd Glenn for a wonderful day of wine and laughter. Certainly not the last tour we booked.
The tour was great. Henri was an amazing tour guide and made all the best stops! Would recommend to anyone wanting to see the wineries around Cape Town.
Alethea was a wonderful driver/guide. We had a great time and enjoyed her company very much. She was fun and educational. Enhanced our knowledge of South Africa and wines.
It was my 2nd time and I would do it 10 more times. Our tour guide GLEN deserves a millions stars 🌟
What a lovely day. Highly recommend
Had a brilliant time on the day tour to Stellenbosch, it was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. The four vineyards we visited were varied and all high quality. All the wine and food was very enjoyable. Our guide Alethea was great, very friendly but professional too, and shared lots of knowledge about wine, wine making and the history of South Africa. Alethea also has a great sense of humour and kept the group smiling and upbeat the entire time. Not that there was any reason not to smile – we were on a wine tour in sunny South Africa!
I did not enjoy the wine tour. It was too long with too many stops. One of the presenters was very unfriendly.
Great day trip to stellenbosch where we toured 4 different wineries! We tried about 6 wines at each winery. At the second winery you get a small pairing snack with it and the third winery you get lunch! To and from transfer from cape town which makes it super convenient and helpful! Would recommend!
Very enjoyable! Alyssia was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot and got some great photos on the beautiful vineyards. We ended up buying some wine to bring back home and I cant wait to share it with family and friends... if it makes it that far ;)
We thoroughly enjoyed this full day wine tasting. Yaz was a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. We visited 5 vineyards. As well as a variety of wines we enjoyed a delicious lunch and samples of cheese and chocolates designed to complement some of the wines. The visit was well worth the time.
The views, food, and customer service were great. I wish the driver would have engaged the entire group. He spent most of the time taking to one lady after they shared similar career interests. You will have a large variety of wines and experiences. Worth the cost!
Excellent wine tour, 4 properties. No sales pressure and great explanations in wonderful Stellenbosch. Nice lunch and closure 1st Simonsig 2nd Mitres Edge 3rd Middelvlei 4th Peter Faulke
What a wonderful experience we had with Wine Flies! We were picked up and driven out to Stellenbosch where we visited 4 wine farms, tasting wines MCC, doing cheese and chocolate pairings AND had lunch! Our guide was very knowledgable and really brought the stories to life with his humour. I highly recommend Wine Flies as a tour company. Professional, organised and they can curate special tours for you as well! I will definitely be going on another tour soon!
What a terrific day we had, pick up 9am from our hotel at Seapoint by Yaz and then headed off to Stellenbosch area with the other 11 guests. We visited 4 wineries in total Simonsig, Mitres Edge, Middelvlei and lastly Delheim. All beautiful scenery but Delheim was outstanding. Lovely cheese and chocolate pairing at Mitres Edge and a terrific Braai lunch at Middelvlei (sausage, chicken skewer, salad, potato salad, caramelised onions and the best toastie I've ever tasted! The wines were in abundance with at least 5 at each stop needless to say was feeling rather sleepy on the drive back at around 6pm. A great day with an excellent group of people from American, Australia, Israel, Canada, England and Scotland and a terrific guide Yaz, who was so knowledgeable. Don't miss out on a wonderful day. Rs 1980 (£90) well worth it!
I had a great wine tour! We visited some good (and one fantastic) wine farms that are off the beaten path. Knowledgeable and fun guide and great (and plentiful) wine. We visited 4 farms and somehow didn't feel rushed. Lunch was fantastic. I was traveling solo, and this group tour of 11 was a good mix of solo, couple, and friends that had fun swapping traveling stories and fun banter. Just book it.
Amazing place We had a very kindness guide We visit Good wineries and drink good wines They pickup us at home and the booking was early confirmed by WhatsApp
We took a tour with Wine Flies through Stellenbosch. The wineries were well-curated and we got a lot of quality tastings and information at three of the four. Definitely worth putting our trust in Wine Flies to find wineries that varied in size while also being uniquely South African. Would definitely recommend.
We had a great wine tour of Stellenbosch with Julian and Althea. Julian picked us up at our hotel and then we went to pick up the remaining guests on the tour and headed out on the quick drive to Stellenbosch. At the first winery, Simonsig, Julian explained how to use a sword to open a bottle of sparkling wine, and then Althea gave a tour of the facilities, followed by a tasting. We then went to Mitre's Edge, where the owner gave us a tasting of her family's wines. Julian then drove us to Middelvlei for lunch and more wines, and then to Delheim for the final tasting. By then, we were well and truly experienced in South African wines. Julian safely got us back to everyone's hotels in Cape Town, capping off a wonderful experience with evening rush hour traffic. Julian is a great guide who provided useful insight into the history of South African wine, the Stellenbosch area, and Cape Town itself. Really glad we chose this tour! Four wineries really took up a whole day and was plenty.
An absolutely incredible experience! We cannot recommend this and Alethea enough. She took us to four beautiful wineries and took such great care of us. Thank you for such a great day.
I really enjoyed the wine tour. I’ve learned so so much about wine, locations, process, history. All the places we went to were just amazing! Our guide Alethea was so knowledgable, and warm and funny! She looked after us really well! It was a really really enjoyable day! I highly recommend the tour! Cheers!!
Wonderful day touring the Stellenbosch area and visiting multiple vineyards. Julian, our guide, was fantastic! He made the day so fun, and provided us with so much information about wine, the vineyards, and South Africa in general. The tour was well organized and ran very smoothly. I could not recommend Julia or Wine Flies enough!
Small group nice Van the driver our tour guide Yaz was excellent and fun to be with.we could not recommend him or this company more.
The trip was well planned, the wine was excellent, Yas was an amazing guide! All in all a great tour that I will highly recommend, especially for solo travellers as it’s small groups where you get to know everyone✨
A perfect boutique experience. Yaz was an engaging, professional and knowledgeable guide that lead a well curated small group experience. From the choice of wineries to timing of the day this is a quality product that was a highlight of my Cape Town stay.
Great experience! My wife and I live in California, near San Francisco, so we are pretty close to the Napa valley and several other wine regions. Not that we are accomplished "enophiles," but we have toured numerous wine regions and have done a fair bit of wine tasting. That said, we found the day-long tour with Wine Flies, and in particular with our tour guide Yaz, to be great fun, scenically spectacular and rewarding in terms of the wines. Eight of us were in a very comfortable van with Yaz. As we drove between wineries (I guess in South Africa they are "wine farms"), he provided just the right amount of contextual commentary about the geography, history and culture of the areas we were traveling through. And, even though I'd guess that Yaz is 10 years younger than the average of our group, he is totally hip to all of the popular music we all grew up with and he adjusted his playlist on the fly per group requests. We knew a lot of the words but I think that Yaz knew ALL of the words! We visited 4 wineries, each tasting 5 wines, with generous pours. All of the wines were very nice, but for us the standout tasting experience was at Mitre's Edge, a boutique winery in the Stellenbosch area. The tasting was hosted by the owner / winemaker, and included one or two nice whites and three or four excellent reds, along with a paring that had chocolates, and different cheeses. I've always felt that the whole "pairing" thing was just a little too frou-frou, but this was PERFECT! Every "bite" tasted like just the perfect thing to go with the particular wine. We ended up purchasing a couple of bottles of red--would have bought much more if we knew how to get it back to California without paying huge shipping charges. I did get the winemaker's contact info so we can stay in contact to see if they ever export to California. Wine Flies, Yaz and Mitre's edge are all highly recommended!
Our driver Yes was super cool and friendly. The landscape, the farms couldn't be more beuatiful. The wines were really good. I had to drink all the glasses and I couldn't spare not even a drop of wine. At the end of the day I was a little bit tipsy 🤣. Our driver wanted us to sing and have fun all the way back to our accommodations. Thanks
This was excellent trip, with the day well organized , and our guide Julian excellent. Pick up was on time, and communication before the trip from Renee very prompt. Julian is a vibrant fun personality, who gave us plenty of information on the area and the wines. We were a group of 6 out of the tour of 9, and the other 3 visitors were lovely. We visited Simonsig, Mitre's Edge, Delheim, and one other whose name I do not recall. At Simonsig we got to open a bottle of bubbly with a sword, and got biltong with the wine tastings. At Mitre's edge the wine tastings were paired with chocolate and cheese. The in-house host at Delheim discerned each persons taste after the first two tastings, and then gave them wine they liked which was appreciated. We had lunch at the one whose name I do not recall. What I may change: Firstly, we did not realize our hotel was outside listed pick up circle, we did not have prior knowledge of the area. Therefore had to come to a meeting point. Secondly we did this trip during winter, the vines had no leaves or fruit, would love to it again in summer. Thirdly, now that I have done the above trip, I would do the second one more paced out and deliberate with the same folks.
Do yourself a favour and book this tour if you’re looking for a fun, memorable day filled with incredible wine, beautiful vineyards, and top-notch service. The wine farms were stunning, and the guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I’ll be recommending this experience to everyone — it’s the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy the best of the Cape Winelands!
Great tour - a filled programme with stops at 4 wineries across Stellenbosch. Team were very accommodating in helping us arrange a convenient pick up spot. Fantastic lunch and snacks throughout the day. Thank you
First stop: Franschhoek, the “French corner,” where charm and heritage blend seamlessly. We explored the elegant Grande Provence and the character-filled Rickety Bridge, each offering stunning views and memorable tastings. Next up: Stellenbosch, a region rich in history and rolling vineyard landscapes. Mitre’s Edge and Delheim welcomed us with world-class wines and warm hospitality. A day filled with fine wine, rich stories, and incredible scenery—this is South Africa at its best. Yaz was energetic and passionate - the perfect guide!
Absolutely beautiful vineyards and delicious wines. The tour guide and operator were incredibly warm and knowledgeable and made the whole day extremely fun.
Amazing tour guide, friendly group that we were put together with. The vineyards were amazing, and the wines too good. Additional highlights, if your would include the actual wine making and bottling process...
A wonderful day with excellent wine and food. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful throughout. We had an awesome day.
This was a very fun day thanks to our incredible guide Yaz and a very well planned day. The van picked us up in Capetown, on time. We enjoyed great food, beautiful scenery, new bus friends. We visited a large winery, a boutique winery where we tasted with the wine maker at her home and two others - all with good wine, and beautiful grounds. Yaz definitely made the trip, sharing his knowledge of the wineries, and Capetown. whenever any of us said we’d like to try something he went out of his way to make it happen. I did not want to spend a full day of my vacation drinking wine but this ended up being an incredibly fun day and well worth it.Highly recommend.
Amazing day, and our guide Jas was so friendly and enthusiastic about the different vineyards he took us too. We visited 4 vineyards in total, had at least 20 tastings, lunch, chocolate and cheese pairings. The scenery and views were fantastic and we were part of a small friendly group of 7. Definitely value for money and would recommend. If I come back to Cape Town I would do it again
We weren’t able to attend this tour due to weather and having to reschedule other tours but every correspondence that I had with these hosts was above and beyond! They even offered us a full refund because of scheduling conflicts. I wish we could have gone on this tour with them as they are lovely, lovely people. I highly recommend.
The trip was a good experience for knowing the winery knowledge and culture of the South Africa. We tasted more than 10 kinds of wines. The guide is nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The lunch included is so so. The waitress’s singing during lunch was incredible.
Our guide Julian was friendly, sweet, good knowledge of the area, lover of food and wine made the whole experience even more wonderful. The wine farms were decent. Good food pairings, tasty wines, great ambience. 10/10 recommend
Best Way to See Vineyards..It is a long day but you get to see four vineyards and sample numerous wines. Many of which you are guaranteed never to have experienced in the US. The guides were great and knowledgeable. They were very friendly, personable, and flexible.Great bargain as great food throughout. I would repeat again. A truly great experience at an awesome price
The wine tour had amazing views the whole way along. The stops were beautiful and had some amazing wine, knowledgeable people and an overall great experience.
It was a fantastic tour for a number of reasons 1. Good and clear communication prior to the tour 2. We were collected and cropped on time 3. The four farms we costed were well varied 4. The other guests we went with were friendly and so the conversations were fantastic 5. Last but not least, Yaz was a fantastic guide, he gave us a lot of information, history, farming approaches, varieties farmed. Tasting essence etc!! He was just great.
Just book it. Alethea our guide was amazing. Picked us up from our hotel perfectly on time and came in to the lobby to meet us. There was only a total of 5 people on the tour so felt a lot more private and was so much space in the minibus. Went to 4 vineyards and tasted over 20 tasting wines, so have breakfast before you go! Couldn’t recommend it more.
Great tour taking us to 4 different wineries in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Great wines, scenery and views. We had the luxury of doing the tour with Francois and Natascha from Wine Flies. Thanks for your company. We had a great time good wine and good laughs. And great karaoke on the way back. Kudos!!!
I have done many wine tours and tastings in many places but this would have to be one of the best! Alethia was a fabulous guide and driver, friendly and approachable. The wines, their variety and gorgeous locations were outstanding, there wasn’t a single one of the very many we got to try I wouldn’t drink again! And the food pairings and the brai lunch was fabulous!
Beautiful day in the vineyards of Stellenbosch! I went with my friends and we spended a wonderful day there! Absolutely advised!
