Really enjoyed both wineries! The pairing of the cheeses & the various wines were perfect. The woman leading the tasting at Fairview was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Itinerary
On the start of this Cape Winelands tour we will depart from Cape Town after picking you up from your hotel and head towards the famous town of Stellenbosch. Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the region north of Stellenbosch has earned international acclaim not only for its Paarl wines but also the breathtaking beauty of its natural surroundings. The name Paarl means ‘pearl’ and reflects the way the ancient granite mountains, which early Dutch settlers called ‘den Diamont ende Peerlbergh’ (‘the diamond and pearl mountain’), glisten in the distance.
Arriving at our first vineyard for your wine experience. . . Our world-renowned tasting room consists of 4 unique, barrel-shaped 'pods' that facilitate a welcoming and more social tasting. Our custom-designed pods offer a tasting selection of 6 different wines with dedicated hosts to guide and assist guests. We are committed to ensuring that we always have a diverse range of wines available for our visitors to choose from, including a selection of wines exclusive to our cellar door. Your tasting options is as follows: (1) - An expertly paired selection of wines with cow and goat's milk (2) - Plant based cheese and wine pairing - Vegan friendly (3) - Kid's Tasting: A selection of 5 sweeter cheeses, 1 sweet treat and a glass of EGA or lemonade Enjoy learning about South African Wine Culture and visit the cellar after your wine tasting at the vineyard
After a splendors time at the first vineyard, we proceed with a 15 minute drive to the next vineyard for another amazing wine experience to explore some of the finest wines produced in the region. Influenced by our French heritage and international savoir-faire, we strive to make French style wines with a touch of South African vibes. We believe in natural, minimal intervention winemaking, with the firm believe that the secret to a great wine lies in the vineyard and in the beautiful landscape that surrounds it. You will be experiencing our biltong and wine pairing of five carefully selected wines, paired with premium cuts of biltong. Biltong is a cured, dry meat often enjoyed as a snack by South Africans. You can also choose a vegetarian option: A pairing of wine and chocolates If you wish to have lunch on the day (afternoon tour only) then please inform your guide at the start of the tour, this will allow your guide to make the necessary arrangements with the vineyard.
Your wine experience is not complete until we visit the town of Stellenbosch. . . The beautiful little town of Stellenbosch, lies surrounded by the Stellenbosch Mountains in the Jonkershoek River Valley in one of the most picturesque settings in the Cape. The second oldest town in South Africa has fondly been called ‘Eikestad’ or city of oaks and its streets are lined with some of the most beautiful surviving examples of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture in the Cape. You will have time to walk along Dorp Street and De Braak Street in Stellenbosch, browsing through a variety of boutique stores and to witness the enticing Dutch buildings. After enjoying all the wonders that the Cape Winelands Tour has to offer we will make our way back to Cape Town and drop you off at your hotel.
Begin your journey with a glass of South African sparkling wine before stepping behind the scenes of Cape Town’s ultimate diamond experience. Our expert guides reveal the secrets of diamond cutting and polishing, and share the rare story of Tanzanite—1,000 times rarer than diamonds, found only at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Your complimentary experience includes: (1) - Expert demonstrations revealing the precision of diamond polishing. (2) - A virtual reality journey through the historic Kimberley Mine. (3) - An augmented reality showcase of Elizabeth Taylor’s famed jewels. (4) - Interactive sessions revealing the intricate art of diamond grading. Please let us know when you have booked the Wine Tour if you are interested to join the Diamond Experience.

I had the best time yesterday on this tour! Our tour guide, Shane, was wonderful! The pick up was easy and prompt. He was knowledgeable during our drive to Stellenbosch and friendly and fun! He had an issue with one passenger getting lost during our time in town and he took it in stride and was flexible. He took us to 2 very nice wineries..both had different vibes so it was nice to see 2 that had different atmospheres. He was very kind and was conscientious about timing so that one of the groups could make it to their afternoon tour. As someone who can be anxious as a passenger, I felt very safe with Shane as a driver. I would definitely take another tour with Shane and hope to make it back to Cape Town in the future!
We had a great experience, very informative..unfortunately we have forgotten the name of our guide, iur tour started at Stellenbosch Town,we had 30minutes of just walking around the most beautiful town and the we headed to Mariana Vineyard and later on to Fairview,100/10 experience.
A great way to explore different types of wines, meet a few like minded people and have a great afternoon.
20/10 top tier everything from the guide to all the wine centers l. The tour guide was exceptional.🗿✅
We had such a wonderful time exploring Stellenbosch and indulging in some incredible wine and food pairings! The sommeliers were personable, knowledgeable, and made each tasting both enjoyable and informative. Fairview Winery was a delight! They were able to accommodate our vegan family member, providing delicious vegan cheese options that paired beautifully with the wines. The non-vegan cheeses were equally delicious, and the wine pairings were spot-on! Marianne Winery was another highlight! We thoroughly enjoyed the unique pairings featuring biltong and other meats, along with chocolates. A special shout-out to our driver, who was personable, knowledgeable, and added so much to the experience. Along the way, he shared fascinating history about Stellenbosch, making the drive just as interesting as the destinations. Beautiful scenery, amazing wine, delicious pairings, and great hospitality.
I have taken many tours from Viator to Europe and now to Africa. I have always been happy with what I get. Yet this tour was the WORST experience ever! The guide was not nice, he was not considered or patient. He was rude to explain things. Also, the tour itself is BAD. First wine tasting, you go to Fairview which is quite ok. But second, they take you to eat lunch while they serve you wine. That is not certainly a wine tasting with proper pairing of what you eat and drink. They just ask you what you want for lunch and then pour the wine. So you don´t taste the wine properly, neither enjoy your lunch since they try to be quick as a tasting.
I must see when visiting Cape Town. I absolutely loved my wine tour. My guide was very experienced and also gave me so much history. The wine experience was absolutely divine since I was the only person solo. It was just my Guide and I so he allowed me to have as much time as I wanted enjoying the fine wines at each winery then we also visited areas in Stellenbosch. Such a beautiful city to explore and lots of history there I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this tour. You are absolutely love it.❤️❤️❤️
The half day tour os Stellenbosch was very nice. Marco was very informative and got us to and from the vineyards quickly. The 2 vineyards were nice with good wines. A 3rd vineyard may have been better than trying to spend 30 minutes in the town.
The tour was well organized. Marco our guide did a fantastic job of explaining the history of the region along with showing us all the area had to offer.
Great day two vineyards 12 wines cheese and chocolate / biltong then to Stellenbosch at end was a great tour.
Shane was great! The wineries were fun and they did a good job explaining each wine and pairing! Even had non alcoholic pairings for my kids.
Nice itinerary for half day. Knowledgeable guide. The vehicle (van) was a bit of a rough ride.
I had one last day in Cape Town, and was trying to squeeze in a lot. This trip did just that and more. Getting even a half hour to roam around Stellenbosch was a trip highlight; but then two very different (but both excellent) winery experiences really brought it home. I'd booked really last-minute, and initially I was going to be the only person on the tour. The company reached out with options, including letting me make it a private tour. Another couple ended up booking last-minute, too, so it ended up being a trio; but kudos to the tour company for willing to probably run the trip at a loss just to make sure I got my half-day tour. Overall, this was absolutely stellar if you're looking to pack in a lot outside of Cape Town in a very constrained time frame. Highly recommend.
It was very great experience I loved the tour We had such good wines and the stop at the town was my favourite Very reliable
Great day out! A few technical problems with the driver’s microphone meant we struggled to hear some of the commentary but it didn’t detract from the day. Two very nice wineries. Generous sizes for the tasting with 6 at each winery. Would have liked a little more time in the town of Stellenbosch but I think we took too long dipping the excellent wines!
Excellent tour and good value
Both wineries were good experiences with cheese, bittong or chocolate pairings. We finished the afternoon in the town of Stellenbosch.
Mini bus ride with driver narration. To distinctively different Vineyards one with six wines and six cheese. The other smaller vineyard with three wines and a choice of chocolate or billabong.
The tour was impacted by poor communication. The day of the tour we had multiple reminders to be at a certain place at the designated time. No one showed up. It was only when I contacted tour operator that I was informed the time had been changed. When the van finally appeared we drove to the next pickup place to wait over 15 minutes for two groups to join. Neither did, they made their own way to a late arrival at the tasting room. One winery quite good, the other just okay By the time we got to Stellenbosch for an abbreviated stop it was dark and not inviting. Very late arrival back to Cape Town.
Visited Fairview first for 6 glasses of wine and cheese tasting followed by Marianne for 3 glasses of wine and either Biltong or chocolate pairing... Interesting to see the vat areas and beautiful vineyards.... Then headed into Stellenbosch for a walk around to see architecture - time to purchase souvenirs or ice cream if required... Bit of a shame that constantly followed by children begging but I guess survival is by any means! Great tour guide for a small tour - people obviously much friendlier after a few drinks ;) Pick up time was spot on and returned back to hotel
An amazing day out in Stellenbosch. Driver was on time and friendly. Vineyards visited were excellent. Well worth it. Highly recommend!
Two wine tastings - one with cheese and the other with chocolates. Visit to a charming small town. Our tour guide, Marco, was great. Very knowledgeable, personable, patient, and accommodating. Very good tour. Highly recommended.
Great guide, we enjoyed this tour very much. Fairview tasting very professional and wine servant great.
Chocolate, cheese and lovely wines … what’s not to like! …………………………………………………………….,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Marco our tour guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable about wine and it history in Cape Town. Great tour.
Very easy going and very informative. Our guide was fantastic and could not do enough to make our tour an event to remember. Oh and the wine was great also.!
This tour is a great price performer and Marco was an excellent tour guide. It was a full afternoon visiting the two wineries and having the opportunity to taste many different wines. I highly recommend this tour for a taste of SA wines.
An excellent short trip to Fairview (Paarl) and Marianne (Stellenbosch) wineries. A total of 12 wines tasted, 3 red and 3 white, at each accompanied by cheese and biltong. Great company and Marco was a genial and knowledgeable guide. Recommended.
Collected from the cruise terminal, headed straight to Stellenbosch, for a quick wander around the town, you don't Need long here, souvenirs / photos. On to Marianne vineyard, Beautiful setting and a great biltong / wine pairing. (Yes we bought wine ) On to the next vineyard Fairview much bigger scale but very well set up. This time a cheese and wine pairing 6 fantastic bargain price wine, did not expect that. Great host at the vineyard (Yes we bought wine). Sean our driver / guide was Great. Slight issue with sound in the minibus. But he made up for this being very flexible with timing. Making sure we would be back to the port in good time. Despite me leaving my phone in the minibus 😔. After a call to Bosch travel. Sean was contacted and he drove all the way back to the port to deliver my phone. Now that's how you can tell a good honest tour operator and driver.. he was a star...
A nice afternoon visiting two wineries. We had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful locations and savor the wines.
Had a really fun day on the wine tour. No issues with pickup and transport was really clea, Guide was very informative. We usually do private tour but selected shared as we wanted company on this sort of tour. It was a good move and we has a great trip.
Marco was amazing. I would go on a tour he was doing any time. He was so informative and helpful. The pick up and drop off was seamless. His warm and friendly demeanor made the event that much more memorable
Just fabulous really enjoyed Have booked with you before … excellent Will book again
The scenery to the wineries was beautiful, the wine tastings at both wineries well curated with delicious wine. I give the tour 4 stars because the “guide” was really a driver who did not add anything to the experience.
Marco was a great tour guide and the Wine Estates we visited, Marianne and Fairview were both great experiences.
A fabulous afternoon, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend.
The most awesome host! Very informative, friendly and accommodating! Very passionate about what he does and showed throughout the tour! Grateful for the experience! Will definitely be back and recommend in the future . God bless and thank you !
It’s a great way to taste wines from the region but no real insight on how it’s produced and you don’t see bottling etc or anything that goes into wine production a little disappointing
It was a fun and great learning experience! Marco was a great guide! As a solo traveler , I couldn't have asked for a better group to hang out with and do wine tasting with.
A bit longer than the half day advertised but that did not detect from what was a fascinating trip. I’m not a wine buff and my consumption normally far exceeds the tasting volumes . It was good to take ones time to savour and compare along with selected cheeses. Found the first stop to be of the highest quality in terms of wines and information . The second , whilst picturesque , was more routine but still enjoyable . The pairing with dried meats of chocolate . The stop at Stellenbosch was useful but short due to the itinerary . Better to make it a whole day. The driver (Sean / Shane sorry ?) was very kind and knowledgable and drove carefully . Overall a very good trip
This was a well organised trip. Our driver Marco was very efficient, polite and knowledgeable. Wine tasting experience was great fun. The only improvement I would suggest is I would have liked an hour in Stellenbosch rather than half an hour.
What a fun experience, the two wine estates we visited were aesthetically pleasing. The car that fetched us was nice and clean, but the driver and I had a bit of an issue when I asked if my partner and I can have lunch he used a condescending tone when responding which is something you should be mindful of when interacting with people.
I selected a pick up point 4 days prior to the tour. The day before you informed me via email that my pickup point is outside your radius. This was an inconvenience and the driver was also ill mannered and rude. He is driving recklessly. The wine tasting experience was the best. Zanele's service was excellent.
It was a comfortable tour to visit the wineries near Cape Town. The wine from the winery I visited on the tour was all excellent, and the pairing with cheese was very good. I was satisfied. However, it was not the tour company's fault, but some couples in the same group were late for the pick-up and the whole schedule was delayed. It would be wise to schedule about two hours more than the tour description because the traffic returning to the city from Stellenbosch is terrible.
Everything went smoothly. And both wineries were great. Stellenbosch is a great town too. Would definitely recommend.
Great quick tour, only 2 wineries but we were pretty tipsy by the end. The guide and driver was knowledgeable and very helpful with drop off. Great afternoon experience :)
Our guide was knowledgeable. It was just very hard to understand his accent and I feel he spoke too much and too loudly. I think we were all tired from Jetlag and wine tasting the last stop in Stellenbosch could’ve been foregone. Or should be at the start of the tour, otherwise it was beautiful, driving through the wine country and visiting the two wineries.
Our guide Shane picked us up from the hotel along with one other traveller. It was like a personal tour as only three of us on the tour. As we drove out to the two vineyards Shane gave us info on each place along with some history of CapeTown. Both the vineyards were great very good wine and cheese in beautiful settings. Had food and Mariane vineyard which was very tasty ( daughter had burger I had lemon and herb chicken) Stopped al Stellenbosch on route back to Cape Town, what a pretty town. I never felt rushed at any of the stops we made and Shane was very pleasant.
don’t normally make negative reviews, but I think that consumers should be warned. This is a terrible company, with at least one terrible guide. When I provided feedback to my tour agent, the actual guide responded, with no investigation by the company. First issue, the guide was incomprehensible. My first language is English and I have travelled extensively, however after trying for 10 minutes, I had to ask him to slow down and repeat multiple times. I was travelling with two Italian physicians who did not understand any of what of he was saying. He was very offended when I asked him to slow down. He was also quite angry about most things he spoke about. Second, the guide insisted on explaining the winemaking process before we even got to the vineyard. Not appropriate, as information about tasks and barrels, and fermentation should be given at the winery, where you can see how it happens. The first winery was OK, although the pairings were questionable. The second winery was terrible. The wine server spent maybe one minute with us, and then left us on our own. As the final stop, the guide dropped us off in Stellenbosch, without explaining where any landmarks were and told us to be back in 30 minutes. We had to use Google maps and the Internet to find out where Townhall was etc. We didn’t even see anything worthwhile because we didn’t know where we were going. The whole experience was terrible.
