We were amazing to see the wineries and all that they produce. They have a wonderful selection of products made on site. If you are vegan or vegetarian, they even have a tasting selection for your wine pairings. Ask ahead of time as they are very prepared to set up your tasting station. Lunch was outstanding and the weather did not dampen our enthusiasm Oiyahn Williams was our tour guide and patiently waited for us to enjoy our lunch, shop, taste wine, and pursue the beautiful town. The people are wonderful and the town is charming. I highly recommend this Tour!

Unfortunately the tram was out of commission so we only had the bus. BUT we were given 50% back on what we paid. We still had a brilliant time. Met such lovely people on the busses. Busses run very timeously. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. We did the orange line. A fantastic Saturday. Loved it.
went on flavours of the vine experience.without questionthe worst wine experience had in 25 years of visiting cape area. nice people on meet and greet. were driven to a siding and got on single track train carriage.this vehicle moved along and for effect tooted its horn regularly and after being given a tasteless and not chilled'wine'from rickety bridge we returned,.The first tour was at goederust. The hosts made a good effort but for english ears the introduction was spoken too quickly. The germans nearby did not understand anything.!the wines were non descript. We went then to rickety bridge. What an appropriate name. Here in 30C were two wines presented both of which were not chilled ;a and rose and something else.An hour and a quarter later two more wines arrived and that was it.Reds can be lightly chilled! When the table asked for clean glasses we were told they were so busy that they had run out and we should use the original glasses.WHAT an advert for the Franschhoek Valley WINERIES.A tepid meal was presented. What a waste of time.Just under two and a half hours.Luckily they sold Savannah dry.We were there for a wine experience. Finally we were taken by a jalopy to Dieu Donne. This vehicle barely got up the road and cannot be recommended for anyone with piles. This beautiful estate with its charming tasting room gave a wine with chocolate experience .The final red I believe called brush and for us was wine of the day. Why wasn't the rep going round questioning about matters during matters.....?Thank goodness we were staying in Franschhoek and were able to drink many fabulous local wines.
Our driver, Ernesto, was the best part of the tour. I give him 5 stars! Due the the weather and the limitations of the wine tram due to recent flooding, he truly adapted the experience to our interests. He actually ended up taking us to a brewery and to the last prison where Nelson Mandela was released. The wine tours are for people truly interested in wine. The tram part is kind of pointless if you can get a driver to take you around instead. With the tram, you are very restricted by their timing. If you do not get to the bus within an hour, you have to stay at that winery for another hour. Honestly, you can find a driver/tour guide in Cape Town for a better price with more flexibility.
Outstanding views. Fantastic service. Great experience. Close to Cape Town. Romantic and interesting Day. Highly recommended.
The staff is super helpful. Try to buy your ticket before getting there for they really stick to their schedules. The vineyards are beautiful. Definitely a MUST. Dedicate a good half a day at least.
Great time. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic experience. Affordable. Really recommend it. Would do it again
Our curated wine experience was incredible. Our tour guide Roger ensured we learnt at each farm, tasted the best wines at each farm and walked away feeling amazing. It was the best experience, and Roger was a wonderful host. We are very glad to have had Roger as our guide. He ensured we received the best wines at each farm, and assisted us with choosing our favorites from each farm to purchase. Thank you Roger for the most fantastic day, despite the rain.
Awesome way to get around the Franschhoek wine farms .... and not having to drink and drive. Friendly staff and lots of route options.
Very pleasant. Would have liked to be on the tram for a longer period as it is called a Wine Tram tour and you end up being on it for only two of the 10 farms.
This was a very enjoyable experience. We visited five vineyards, tasting wine at each one and enjoying a very good meal at lunchtime. All of those we visited were very hospitable and the whole day was well organised. It was fun to see a group celebrating a fortieth birthday having a very merry day!! Good value for money and an experience not to be missed by wine drinkers when visiting this area.
Two friends and I spent all day in a Wine Train, stopping to wine tastings, We had an marvellous day.
Since I am not a wine-drinker, I went on the Winetram simple for the experience. And what an experience!!!! I LOVED every minute of it!! The HOHO experience is easy once you get the hang of it. The tram literally appears at your stop every hour. Take a tip and do some research on the particular farms you want to visit before you leave, This makes choosing easier. The entire day was phenomenal though....much more than just wines!
We just concluded a full-day curated tour. Absolutely fantastic!! Ray-Dawn, our guide, provided incredible insights and understandings about the history and nuances of our experience!! Both the tastings at 3 estates and the lunch were beyond compare. Highly, highly recommended!!
As a recent newcomer to travelling to Cape Town I've been on quite a few wine tours now and this was definitely one of the best. On our day we got as far as Allee Bleue then stopped for three hours. The lovely 'Thirsty Kirsty' was our host, it was a lovely vineyard and didn't come across as commercial as some others that we've visited. Another great location but very relaxed, fabulous wines and we were very well looked after. The trams are a novel way of getting around and the drivers were a lot of fun. Very highly recommended.

It was a fantastic day out - we got picked up at the hotel and had a marvellous driver who told us about the region as we were driven to the wine reagion. We made an additional stop at the jail where Nelson Mandella was held en route - an added extra. We then had a fantastci day tasting the wines goin on the trams and bus sampling various vintages as we went along.

Excellent way to combine the usual wine tasting with something different and fun. I'd recommend the purple route if you want to spend more time on the tram. We had an excellent guide and so were able to personalize our trip to focus on things that interested us such as the galleries and buildings.

We missed our tram, luckily we met the General Manager who assisted us together with his amazing staff to take us to the tram. Even though we only visited 3 wine farms, it was still out of the world experience! First class wine estates with wine pairing either with cheese, chocolate or nougat etc. Highly recommended trip to place on your on bucket list!
The Wine Tram is just perfect. Very nice guides and also alot of great estates to visit. We did the yellow line, which i can hishly recomend. You should not miss out the lunch at Dieu Donne! I also did a wine tour in Stellenbosch, but the wine tram is much better.

We NEED to talk about this tram: You sit on the tram, it takes you to wine. You get back on the tram, it takes you to more wine. FOREVER. An absolute perfect start to our South African adventure - Super was the name of our guide: a very well-informed, articulate and affable man who made excellent company. I can not recommend this venture into the wine countries enough - gorgeous views, gorgeous wine, gorgeous weather!

very touristy, but with good wineries! haute cabriere has an exciting cellar tour and fantastic sparkling wine, definitely worth a look
It is an unmissable experience. Enjoying the beautiful landscape of the vineyards of Cape Town and surrounding areas from a bus-train is fun, pleasant and comfortable.
Very good offer. To make the most of the time, you should prepare and visit 4 to max 5 wineries. We really liked Plaisir de Merle. Service, cheese and meat platter were top;-) We went there by sightseeing bus incl. transport by tram and buses. Price rather high for what is offered. Conclusion: we would do it again and limit ourselves to 3 wineries. Alternative e.g. with Uber.
I would like to leave my compliments for the tour conducted by this Enterprise. Our friend “SUPER” a spectacular guide, even knowing that we did not bored too much English was super attentive and understandable with us during the tour. He explained everything to us as he did. The tour was very good, exceeded our expectations. We know many beautiful wineries, all as imagined. I'm leaving my note 10, 1000. Sensational this team! I indicate a lot. Super big hug.
It's very cool. I recommend. The train goes by the wineries and you can stay from an hour to the whole day at the wineries of your preference. I stayed an hour at each winery. Got to make the tasting and eat some cheeses and chocolates. Prices are too affordable. Around 20 reals the tasting and 4 wines. Choose the wineries you want to make tasting. If I'm not mistaken there are 6 wineries and the tasting portion is quite generous. If you go taste wine at all you will be drunk at the end of the tour. I recommend.
