Customized Private Wine Tour

Our Tour Guide Pamela took us to 3 very nice vineyards for tastings plus a fourth one for a fabulous lunch. Pamela was a fantastic tour guide. I highly recommend her!

Had a fantastic day with Willem! Custom tour set up for us that was wonderful. We appreciated that it was door to door pickup and drop-off. He was very informative and was able to answer our questions about the area, history of Cape Town and surrounding towns, as well as the wine farms. Perfect way to spend the day and enjoy some great wine and food tastings. Lunch at Tokara was a delight. We enjoyed an olive oil/food pairing prior to our lunch. Would highly recommend!

Our guide was very knowledgeable. He took us to the most beautiful wineries that were not super crowded plus had amazing views!

Our guide Pamela was very knowledgeable about the wines we were tasting and the region. The three wineries chosen were outstanding. The first one Muratie was my favorite because it had an interesting history. The cheese pairing at the next winery Lavenir was delightful. The lunch stop at Guardian Peak had gorgeous view and yummy food. The final stop Waterford Estate had a chocolate pairing which I enjoyed. We bought chocolate to take home.

We had the absolute best time. Everything was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Tsiba Tsiba was great to work with all throughout the process. They were communicative and allowed for a really great custom tour. My friend and I enjoyed our tour immensely. Our guide, Pamela, was very knowledgeable about the wines, and provided us with some really great history and insight into South Africa’s history, and Cape Town specifically as well. She was so great, we wanted her to stay with us for the rest of our trip!

We enjoyed a custom private wine tour of the Stellenbosch area with Eileen. Eileen did an amazing job thoughtfully selecting vineyards that met the specific preferences that we outlined before the tour. She was a pleasure to spend the day with as she's personable/friendly and has an absolute wealth of knowledge about wine and the region. Eileen is clearly a skilled guide as she took the extra effort to clearly communicate and clarify expectations, next steps, and her expert suggestions throughout the entire day. She also took the extra step of adding an olive oil tasting to help the non-drinker in the group feel that much more included. It felt like we had a friend taking us around to her favorite wineries, which was such a treat. She has clearly built strong relationships at each winery and the hospitality, generosity, and warmth extended to us. This tour is well worth it to enjoy a top-notch experience of an excellent wine region.

The private wine tour for 2 people was an absolutely fantastic day. Willem was a spectacular guide who was very knowledgable and incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend this tour for a day out of Cape Town to see the unbelievably beautiful wine country!

What a great day of touring 4 different wineries with Pamela our guide. Pamela knows her 'stuff' and we enjoyed our personal tour, just my wife and I and Pamela. She gave great recommendations for the wine and various pairings with cheese and other foods. The wineries were generous with their pours and we were certainly feeling it at the end of the day! Highly recommend this private tour, really gives you a flavor of the wine industry in South Africa. A fun time!

We had an exceptional day with our guide, Pamela. She was full of interesting & informative dialog that made us feel as if we were chatting with a friend! She got us to all our destinations in a timely & safe manner . Provided lively , interesting conversation & the recommended lunch spot of Guardian peak was perfect as were all the vineyards on our custom tour. My only negative is more about the wine ordering thru the vineyards- not as well coordinated as they should be. So be sure to ask if the wines you like are ones that are available for shipment to your address. That has nothing to do with the quality of the wine tour itself but rather the lack of coordination from the vineyards. Definitely would recommend this tour & wish I could do again!

Wilhem was the best! He customized the tour to visit wineries that best fit our likes. He was extremely knowledgable and a pleasure to spend our time with in Cape Town. Would have enjoyed spending more of our visit with him! The wineries were fun to see and they make some very nice wines.

Via email my wife and I put together two customized wine tours, one to the Franschhoek region and the second to Stellenbosch. Tsiba chose three wineries for us each day with lunch. Each trip lasted approximately 7-to-8 hours. We were picked up at our hotel by George in a Mercedes. George was very knowledgeable and engaging regarding wines, the regions and South Africa in general. We loved every winery on both schedules. The wineries were boutique in nature and the staff were great. The tasting experience was very personable and relaxed. We were able to taste a number of wines not on the tasting menu. Tsiba Tsiba really came through for us and I certainly would use their services again. Professional, responsive and courteous every step of the way.

Very disappointing. 1. Guide arbitrarily changed lunch venue from Guardian Peak to Postcard Cafe. Presumably because Guardian Peak was not convenient. I told her... show me the menu and I will consider. No menu shown but instead changed the venue back to Guardian Peak. 2. Neil Ellis Winery. Tasting room is closed... construction. Tasting done in sterile area at the entry. We should have been informed or offered to change the venue. 3. Guide entirely too chatty. I do not need to hear... it is clearing around the mountains... 20 times. 4. We had to tell the guide not to tail gate vehicles while driving in moderate rain. 5. At lunch. Guide said "tell me when to return" and drove off. Did not offer mobile number. Every tour we have had... in many countries... the guide has waited in the area. For $145 USD per person... terrible value and mediocre experience.

Lovely day in 3 different and selective wineries with Pamela. Her knowledge and expertise in wines is remarkable! This is not just a drive to wineries but felt more like a walking/talked history background of South African wine making. We had a great day with her and definitely recommend it for anyone who is more into enjoying wine testing without rushing and waiting when in big groups.

Eileen was a truly incredible wine guide. We did both a Stellenbosch private full day tour and Franschoek private full day tour with her. She not only knew all the wineries and the history of the winemakers but also had a fabulous knowledge of history and things to see as we drove out to wine country from Capetown. She was truly top notch and after getting a sense of our wine taste, further customized the tour to include some wine tastings that we hadn't originally requested which turned out to be a highlight for the trip. Thank you for such a fabulous wine country experience!

This was the second time we’ve been on this tour with the superb Tsiba Tsiba (albeit 11 years apart!). We spent a really great day with Eileen, learnt so much and tasted so many wonderful wines. It was tailored (via email in advance) to the sorts of wines we liked and Eileen even tweaked it a bit on the day once we’d been to a couple of vineyards. I can highly recommend Tsiba Tsiba - excellent service, knowledgeable and informative tours…..and if you’re lucky enough to have either Willem or Eileen take you on your tour, you are in for a real treat!

I thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. This is a great option for those looking to stay off the beaten path and away from tourist traps. The vehicle was well maintained and premium quality. The guide was knowledgeable and personable.

Tsiba Tsiba tours did an excellent job of representing the Stellenbosch wineries. George, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. His car was clean and classy. We honestly felt like dignitaries. Each winery demonstrated a different terrior, affected by the proximity to the mountain range, the rise and run of the valleys and the breeze off of the ocean. Ryan at L’Avenir winery in tandem with George really added a special experience for us. Their sense of humour, and their life experience as residence of Stellenbosch added a narrative that I’ve never experienced at any other wine tour. Private tour with gracious and knowledgeable host Eileen was great. We were able to taste at the specific wineries that we wanted to visit, and she was able to adjust the itinerary accordingly. Bravo!

What an amazing trip. Eileen, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the wines and the Winelands. The day was taken at our pace and Eileen was more than happy to answer our many questions about Cape Town and it's history. Lunch was at the Delaire Graff Estate and both the setting and the food was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this tour.

Colleen was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the wines we tried at each wine farm and the wine industry in general. She also had a great personality and picked some excellent wine farms based upon our individual wine preferences.

We were on our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time with Eileen! She was incredibly knowledgeable on not only all the vineyards, but also the area and any questions we had regarding the different wines and Cape Town in general! This was a great tour and one we were able to select the wineries to visit. Colleen was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable and engaged with the 6 of us friends on the tour. The tour was timed well for seeing some wonderful vineyards and tasting beautiful wines and cheese, too. Our guide, Eileen, was very personable and we had a great time with her. My partner and I traveled with Tsiba Tsiba on their private wine tour in mid-April. We had a marvelous day sampling wines in the Stellenbosch area. Guide/driver Willem selected vineyards that offered both wines that we knew we liked as well as some new ones to us. We enjoyed the whole experience, and learned about South African culture along with wine. The scenery in the mountains was spectacular, and we had a good lunch as well. I recommend this trip for anyone interested in wines; it was a good value in my opinion, and I will tell anyone I know coming to this area to book this trip.

Forget about all other wine tours, particularly the wine tram and the Constantia bus route, with Tsiba Tsiba you get to taste wines according to your palate at non-tourist-trap wineries. Their tour guides are extremely knowledgable, can even answer questions about the terroir, and make sure that you get what you are looking for. Highly recommendable if you are seriously interested in wine tasting (not just drinking).

We have done winery tours all over the world and it doesn't get better than Willem Swanepoel at Tsiba Tsiba. It wasn't just the carefully curated selection of wineries and the incredible good food and conversation along the way. Willem knew everyone we visited by first name and doors opened everywhere. We tasted vintage port at Muratie and they let us into their library to taste older vintages. I wanted to buy some of their 1998 vintage port but we were off to Kruger the next day and I didn't want to haul it along. Willem arranged to have the case of win shipped from the winery to our hotel in Johannesburg, arriving within a few hours of our flight back to U.S. He tracked the package for more than a week to make sure it arrived at the right hotel on the right day at the right time. It never would have worked out without his continuous help. Amazing.

We had a fantastic day and our wonderful tour guide Eileen provided our adult family with a tour customized to our wine preferences as well as adding in interesting local information. This company’s service went above and beyond and we also did a customized tour of the Cape Town area with George as our guide, which was superb! They were always responsive while we planned our tours, on time for pickup, fun and friendly to chat to during the tours. Very highly recommended!

The wine tour was fantastic- Stephen, the driver, was so knowledgeable and knew the best places to go. We learnt a lot about wine, had some great food and had a thoroughly enjoyable day.

After a perfect day in the vineyards last year we went for a private wine tour with fantastic Stephen once again! This time we started in Cape town and Stephen showed us wineries in Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch which gave us a nice variation of the different terroir, styles of wine and locations. Even after one year in between the tours he still knew our preferences and was very motivated to show us new-to-us wineries aside from the bigger ones which we really liked. Besides a nice wine and cheese tasting we also enjoyed an MCC and Nougat tasting and were brought to very beautiful wineries as e.g. Stark Condé which recently have reopened after renovation. No matter on which level you enjoy wine or bubbly, Tsiba Tsiba makes sure, you get a tour that fits all your needs, filled with plenty of information. I'm sure this was not the last time coming back and thank you for the perfect day - again!

It's our honeymoon and we wanted to make the most of our limited time in Stellenbosch by having a private guide who would share knowledge and experience of wine, and also arrange a special and romantic day for us. I emailed over the brief and got a fast response from Eileen. I was immediately confident I was dealing with a professional firm that would deliver what what we wanted (in fact we ended up expanding our tour to two days to also cover Franschhoek which they accommodated very last minute). What we actually got was beyond all expectations that we had. Eileen is clearly very passionate about wine and we learnt so much during our time with her. The wine estates she took us to were simply wonderful. Eileen had really thought about what we wanted and had arranged tastings at some very beautiful, intimate estates and tasting the wines whilst looking out over some truly stunning scenery is something we will never forget. She picked out the wines at each tasting so we were able to sample a wide range of varieties, but also the ones she thought we would like best based on our tastes. As a side note, Eileen was very clear that we were not under any pressure to buy any wine at any of the estates. She arranged lunch for us on both days and both restaurants were excellent. Again, stunning views at both. Car we were driven in was very comfortable. I can't recommend this enough. You won't be disappointed.
