This was an excellent tour and I highly recommend. The wineries were just wonderful and it made for a great day. Our driver Thomas was excellent amd very knowledgeable. We learned more in this one tour from him than in all the others combined! Highly reccomend.
This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Thomas was one of the best guides you could hope for. Very warm, friendly, punctual, and super knowledgeable about South Africa's history and its diverse culture. You could really tell that he was focused on making sure that his guests have the best experience possible by tailoring everything to their needs!! We visited several gorgeous estates across both towns, each with its own character and charm. The wines were outstanding and the views were incredible. A truly perfect day out from Cape Town. Don't miss it.
The tour was great and our guide Ejide was amazing! We had great wine and great food, and while we were in the car Ejide told us all about the history of franschhoek and stellenbosch!
Long day .beautiful scenery but expected walk round 2 towns on itinerry never did ! plus when started told 1st stop eat at 1030am .we asked change as only had breakfast and was luckily changed ! Beautiful scenery but some on trip preferred red wine and most tastings rise or white ..had couple awful whites ! But on whole enjoyed trip just be prepared not lot wine choices ..
We had a wonderful day with Ray as our guide touring the vineyards. Each one was unique in its wine and landscape. Ray provided lots of historical information about the vineyards and the region in general. I would strongly recommend the tour and Ray as a guide in particular.
Super fun experience - all the wineries were beautiful and Joel was an excellent guide. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend!
The organization was very good, the driver was excellent as was the lunch but after tasting about 20 different wines the experience started to loose its appeal.
Over ambitious agenda which couldn't be accomplished. Itinery promised 30 minutes walk in both Franshoek and Stellenbosh plus 4 wine tastings. Got the latter but simply drove through Franshoek without stopping and bypassed Stellenbosh centre entirely. These towns were an important part of what we booked to see so felt it was poor value for money
Very good guide/driver. Probably one vineyard too many. 3 would be more manageable. Drop Haute Cabriere - poor wine and poor attention by their staff. Good value overall
Nathan was great. He handled all the logistics and made sure we enjoyed each winery. It was a wonderful day with gorgeous scenery
Wilson was a knowledgeable and funny guy who was a very great guide throughout our tour. I would highly recommend going with him! He helped us reach all of our vineyards/lunch in time and gave a great history of the area on the way.
Excellent day in stellenbosch. Thanks Gordon for the comfortable ride and additional information you provided and keeping us all on track with a sense of humor. Cheers
We had an amazing time on our tour through the wineries! The entire experience was well-organized, relaxed, and full of charm. Our guide, Isaac, was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable about the local area, the vineyards, and the history behind each stop. What really stood out was how respectful he was of our group’s space; he gave us plenty of room to enjoy each tasting and conversation while still being available to answer questions and share insights when needed. It was the perfect balance between guided and independent exploring. We learned a lot, had some incredible wines, and never felt rushed. Highly recommend this tour (and especially Isaac) to anyone looking for an enjoyable and informative day in wine country!
This might be the worst excursion I have ever booked on Trip Advisor. We were advised that our pickup would be at 7:30am; they arrived at 8:55 and waited outside for us to FIND them in their unmarked white van. The tour advertised visiting 4 wineries. The first one went great - 6 wines with 6 selected cheeses. Because we were running late due to the late start, the second stop ended up being lunch with wine "tasting", where no effort was made to match the wine to the food. Following this, the driver attempted to make up time using a "short cut" that ended up being a road under a years long construction and ultimately cost us an additional 30 minutes of wasted time. The third winery was closed, and had been for weeks due to building renovations. Why would they have booked a closed venue? The last winery, Tokara, was nice, but the rest of the people on tour got tired and went outside to wait. We then ended in traffic, not returning to our hotel until after 6:30pm requiring us to cancel our dinner reservations.
Lovely day out with an experienced and entertaining guide Ray saw lots and learned lots. Drank lots and had a delicious lunch
The tour was canceled at 4pm the day before. I had to scramble to find another one. I requested a refund and I haven’t heard anything since.
We did the full day wine tour to 4 wineries and lunch. We were fortunate to have only another young couple who were newlyweds and Nathan, a wonderful guide and driver. Nathan gave us a detailed history of the wineries in South Africa and modified the itinerary to see 4 wonderful wineries. Loved the tastings at all, but especially at Fairview.
Wonderful tour! The wineries we visited were excellent, the wine pairings too. Our guide Mbaye was very kind and polite, giving us lots of information about South Africa, Cape Town, wines... we recommend!
Our wine tour with Ray was nothing short of spectacular! His wealth of knowledge is priceless, and he brought each stop to life with great stories, humour, and infectious enthusiasm. We visited four different wineries, each offering something unique, and Ray made sure we had an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Highly recommend booking with Ray—you won’t just be sipping wine, you’ll be soaking in history, culture, and a whole lot of joy!
Great day out with Nathan who took us to 4 wineries and safely back to our accommodation. We weren't rushed and the schedule was flexible with our pace. Thanks Nathan!
Gordon was flexible in adapting the wineries visited to suit 5 of us. We avoided large wineries & tour buses. We missed lunch, but had such a good time at 4 wineries that nobody was bothered!
We had an amazing time with our tour guide Ibby! He did a great job going over what the plan was for the day and taking us to the various wineries. He was also very friendly, informative and made sure our day ran smoothly. We had such an amazing time and would highly recommend this tour!
This was a wonderful day with our tour guide Gordon . We went to three wineries and a brewery. The choice of wineries were very nice from the landscaping to the wineries themselves. Having cheese paired with wine was a treat and lunch with wines at Marianne Winery was very special. A can’t miss while in Cape Town.
We had an awesome time visiting 3 wineries in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We sampled many different white and red wines, along with some tasty cheese pairings and also stopped for an incredible lunch. Ray, our guide, was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He was flexible with the schedule, showed us some amazing scenic views including a picturesque sun set. We enjoyed spending the day with Ray and our fellow guests from around the world. Definitely recommend!
We spent a fabulous day exploring the wineries with Ray. Met some lovely people from several different countries as we sipped and sampled many wonderful wine varieties. Ray made sure we all had a delightful time. It was a great way to explore Cape Town's Wine Regions.
This was a pleasant trip with excellent history provided by our guide Ray, who offered insights about the culture and colonization influences of Dutch. British and recent South African hegemony. The wineries were beautiful, and countryside phenomenal with background mountains . Wine poured was generally well described , and time for questioned available. Our guide Ray was a true gentleman who cared for each member of the group. I highly recommend this tour!!
We had a great experience with Gordon! It was great to be picked up and every stop, he shared alot of information about cape town as a city and a place to live. We travelled with our 8 month old and Gordon made sure we were well looked after and was very accomodating. We really enjoyed the wine tasting, it was lovely to visit 4 very different vineyards and find out a bit of their history. Overall our day was just wonderful. Would highly recommend 👌
One of the best tours we did! A must see!! Wonderful guide who spoke great English and had a ton of information.
Great experience, very enjoyable wine tour and superb lunch. Would recommend this tour as a must to all.
Hi Gordon, We just wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful experience you provided during our tour. Your knowledge and passion for South Africa and its wine truly made the journey memorable. We appreciated your engaging storytelling and the way you made everyone feel welcomed and included. Thank you once again for your time and effort. I look forward to sharing our experiences with friends and family and recommending your tours to others! Best regards, Hashmita, Hitesh Dhanu & Shanti
Abby was super helpful, informative, very attentive to the group needs, and he taught us about the rich history of Cape Town. I look forward to booking this excursion again!
James Gonda was a very good host. He was knowledge and it was an all around good tour. The entire group thought we would end with desert wine and chocolate, unfortunately Marianne winery was a little underwhelming. Everything else was great.
An amazing tour of 4 wine estates. Our guide Nathan really made the day special, creating an atmosphere where we shared many laughs and conversations with the others in our group, as well as his knowledge of which were the best places to visit for sampling wines and stopping for lunch. All of the estates we visited were stunning and were set in spectacular scenery. Nathan also took us for a photo stop of the Nelson Mandela statue outside Drakenstein prison. Highly recommended tour for anyone in the area. Thank you for a wonderful day!
We were met by Timmy our driver who looked after us all day . The wine farm we visited were very good. Lots of wine and cheese and the revelation of honey butter with wine and cheese is i must
Beautiful choice of wineries, all high end with beautiful views. Everything well organised with AC transport.
Tasting wine and enjoying the cheese at Fairview was delicious. Nice relaxing day, done at one’s own pace
We had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful vineyards of Stellenbosch on this well-organized wine tour. The selected wineries offered a great variety of wines, stunning views, and warm hospitality, making for an unforgettable day. Gordon our guide for the day was fun, knowledgeable and full of energy The only suggestion i have is to provide clients the option to customize the itinerary by choosing different vineyards to visit. This flexibility could make the experience even more tailored to individual tastes. Overall, it was an excellent day of wine tasting, learning, and relaxation. Highly recommended this tour for anyone visiting the Cape Winelands!
Nice guide and group! Would definitely recommend it for family, friends and couples! We had a lovely day! Thank you so much!
Vert nice wine ries and Gino was very nice and helpful. Confortable car to move around. The tour lasted 10 hours
Our guide GB was informative and entertaining. The van was a little tight if there had been the 2 people who were supposed to be there. The choice of vineyards was very good which is why we picked this tour. There had to be an adjustment at the end for the last vineyard which had to be changed because of timing. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience
It truly was an amazing day! Highly recommended. There are so many food options at the winery that you don’t need to stress about purchasing the food included option. Went to 3-4 wineries and they were all beautiful. Definitely enjoyed lunch at Delheim and don’t forget to love on Chubaka(the owners wire hair dog).
We were incredibly fortunate to be able to book this trip, and our tour guide Alex was so helpful and informative and really gave us a VIP experience. Thank you so much!
It started with the driver being 40 min late without having informed me about it, then because we were late it was suggested we visit only 3 places rather than 4. The first two were wonderful but the 3rd one was not. It was disappointing that we didn't visit the vineyard that Beyond Africa had stated, I had so looked forward to it. As we arrived at the 3rd vineyard it was clear that nothing had been planned for lunch in advance so, there was almost nothing to choose from on the menu card. I was disappointed … The guide was nice and knowledgeable. It has potential to be a nice experience but this time it was ill managed.
We had a really fun time on this tour. The guide was patient and knowledgeable about the area and the vineyards we visited were well set up for tastings and in stunning settings. There was more than enough wines to try and the lunch was very good too. We felt very safe getting a driver guide to transport us around the area and back to Cape Town after the tour, a must after this much alcohol.
Great information from our guide Reuben. Good communication re pickup, lots of history, besutiful scenery and visited some pretty wineries in a few regions. Visited a statue of nelson mandela outside one of the prisons he was in. Four people on our trip, all singles and friendly. Long day 8-5 but a great experience.
Really lovely tour of mainly the Stellenbosch wine region. Our guide Gordon was super personable, thoughtful and helpful. We had a small group, only 5 people which made it a nice and special experience. We went to 4 wineries and all of the wines were incredibly delicious, represented a variety of types, and the staff at the wineries were very explanatory. We received about 16 wines though by the final two I couldn't drink any more. The pours were very generous. Our guide personalized the tour and let us see the parts we were most interested in. We didn't go to all of the places listed - however, with all the wine you drink by the end, everyone is pretty tired, and there was some road construction. I felt very satisfied with all that we were able to see and experience. I would only recommend that someone books the non lunch tour. The lunch itself was delicious and served at a beautiful vineyard; however the pricing doesn't entirely make sense so its more affordable to buy your lunch ala carte. Given the lunch package adds about $40 and everyone is given a budget of 300rand to spend on lunch, (around $17) and most main courses didn't cost that much even. I booked the lunch package expecting the actual lunch costs would be much higher than they actually were. The cheese and wine pairing was also the last stop and I'd prefer that had been in the morning, as right after lunch, one is more full to enjoy it as much. It does seem like there is the ability to be flexible and customize though. All in all though, it was a fantastic day.
We booked this tour as we had a free day whilst in Cape Town and we're so glad we did. Pick up time was communicated the night before and we were picked up on time. It was a small group, there were only 6 of us plus the guide, Gordon and a guide on training, Nathan. We left Cape Town and headed out towards Stellenbosch and the first winery of the day. Cheese and Wine were the order of the day which appeared to be too everyone's satisfaction. One thing that was immediately apparent was the friendliness and knowledge of the young lady who served our group. After a good period of time we moved on to the next location whilst enjoying the stunning scenery around us. Stop two saw another round of tastings, but this time we were given various dried meats to try along with the wines. Another beautiful setting. We then proceeded to number 3 which also provided lunch, included in the price. Lots of choice that was well cooked but the highlight was the location. Sat in the gardens overlooking the countryside was just fantastic. Our final stop saw us climb up into the hills and we were greeted with a fantastic view. The wines kept coming, we kept tasting! After everyone was finished it was time to head back to Cape Town and the conclusion of a fantastic day. The wines, scenery and the company of the other guests made this a great day, but the real stand out was the level of service and professionalism of our guide, Gordon. Nothing was to much trouble, he was informative and engaging all day, at no point did anyone feel rushed and his driving was exemplary. This tour will be one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa and we would highly recommend it
Great experience, a full day small group. Wineries and tastings were amazing a lunch spectacular! Our guide was informative and friendly! Highly recommend this tour!
Excellent tour our guide was amazing. We did not expect that we would be only the 2 of us with a guide. It was a wonderful surprise. The 4 wineries were very different from each other (so we're the wines), food was very good and overall experience was great.
