Cape Town: Bo-kaap Mini Photoshoot Session

My daughter and I absolutely loved our photo session with Saxsola! She was incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming, and she made us feel comfortable and completely at ease throughout the experience. That warmth and connection truly came through in our photos. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and such a special mother-daughter experience. We will cherish our beautiful photos for many years to come.

A delightful experience on a tour of Bo-Kaap. I wanted to visit Bo-Kaap, and since I was alone, I was hesitant to take photos there. Choosing this tour option with a photo session was perfect. Better than I imagined. Caitlin shared some of the local history of the neighborhood and took photos in incredible locations.

Saxola was my photographer. She was super nice and gave me great pose ideas. This was an unforgettable experience in Bo-Kaap. Definitely recommend knowing the history ahead of time and taking the tour with a friend or friends earlier in the day. Overall awesome photo shoot experience.

A fun experience in Bo-Kaap with Caitlin as my photographer. Caitlin was very kind and patient. She also suggested poses which was appreciated as I was very much out my comfort zone. Was a great way to see Bo-Kaap and have fab photos to keep as memories of my time in Cape Town; especially as I was travelling on my own. Even with friends it would be fun to do as it captures the colours of Bo-Kaap to a professional standard. Would definitely recommend and would do it again if back in Cape Town.

This was booked for 11.30am. I was asked by Marie to change the time to 10.30am which I did but on arrival at Bo Kaap, the protographer wasn't there. It seems Terrence the photographer was not give the information so he didn't arrive until 11.15am as he was working with other customers. Terrence a very friendly, nice chap but I would say that we could maybe have done the photographs ourselves with a friend. £112 is quite expensive.

Terence was our photographer and he was friendly, accommodating and on time. It is our first time doing a photoshoot and he provided lots of guidance so we became less nervous in front of the camera. He also provided us with tidbits of history of the area so the whole shoot was informative at the same time. We enjoyed the experience way more than expected.

This photoshoot is memorable and I highly recommend visitors/tourists to go for it. The photographer was warm and friendly. Sharing with us stories of this small colourful town as we walked and moved along from ‘houses to houses’, taking photos. She offered suggestions on where and how (to pose) to get a good photo. And she definitely know ‘THE’ place (house)/spot to get a beautiful photo. Overall a wonderful 45mins to and hour, spent taking photos. Capturing down beautiful moments with good friends.

Did you know that Marlow Photography will do a guided private photo tour for the entire day? My wife and I had a great experience shooting architecture, murals, and street photography in Bo Kaap with Marlow and our driver Sipo. Really cool to wander and experience the city with a local. Great communication (email, video call) ifor planning the day in advance and super flexible on agenda. Highly recommended, and Marlow even provided a few edited photos to commemorate the day.

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and the photographer (Aisha) captured every moment brilliantly! She understands angles, light, and was extremely pleasant to work with!!

We really enjoyed this! As a couple, it’s hard to get more than selfies on trips. With our photographer Aisha, we now have photos from the trip that we can frame and canvas to remember this trip by. Aisha also gave us a history of the area as we walked, and was kind to us throughout our session. This is a beautiful neighborhood rich in history and meaning, an excellent place for memories of one of the most unique areas in Capetown

Terrence was an excellent photographer and professional! We were a group of 3 travelers and we worked out a package of individual and group photos that included fun active shots and professional headshots. Terrence was prompt, patient, and gave helpful direction for posing. We received the pictures sooner than promised. I asked Terrence to edit a few photos to mask a "wardrobe malfunction" that was totally my fault. His edits were perfect and we are 100% satisfied! Thank you to Terrence (and Marie for linked us with him) for providing these amazing mementos of our trip to Cape Town!

In one hour, we received an immersive experience of all that Bo Kaap has to offer while having amazing photos taken of us. It was great not to have to grab a selfie to commemorate our time there but having professional photos to look back on.

Terrance was a great photographer & tour guide for the Bo-Kaap neighborhood. The experience included taking photos against the colorful neighborhood backdrop and learning about the history of the area as well. He was very friendly and informative. The photos were ready 3 days after the shoot and I'm happy with the final product, would definitely book this experience again.

Marie is fantastic! Her photography skills are top notch, she did my engagement photos for my fiance and I back in December and I recently went back to her again for my professional photos. I loved that she reviewed inspiration beforehand and provided ideas on how to achieve that aesthetic. For my professional photo shoot we went to two different locations in town and along the way she knew exactly where to go to get the right shot in the best lighting. I would highly recommend Marie!

I had a lovely colorful photoshoot in bo-kaap , the photographer made sure that every shot was unique , I had a lot of fun and I was proposed with many angles and areas to take a photo in , worth it !

Really were looking forward to this but after waiting 15 minutes gave up waiting for the photographer as the number we’d been given didn’t work. Waste of a beauty morning. We were refunded but the only explanation was that there was a misunderstanding, odd given it was confirmed by the owner.

It was a wonderful experience in a great environment. Marie-Laure took amazing fotos of me and we had a lot of fun! She proposed many different settings and was very open to my ideas.

I really enjoyed the photo shooting and as always I am happy to return from holiday with beautiful photos of myself. Marie has a very good eye for beautiful scenes and is supportive when posing. It's super fun to go around the houses with her. She also has a tip or two for your trip through Cape Town. All in all, a very great experience that I wouldn't have wanted to miss.

Marie was welcomimg and managed to make the photoshoot relaxed and fun. Our younger daughter was not keen on the idea ahead of time and she is very camera shy, but Marie managed to get her to participate with ease, and I think she even enjoyed the experience. Merci beaucoup Marie !!! This experience is not only great because I got really nice, diverse, colorful pictures but I also saw an area which I would not have visited by myself. The tour was great, Marie was really open to ideas and because it was my first photoshoot ever she gave me some useful tips on how to look, stand and act - Marie does a fantastic job and I felt like I go around the blocks with a good friend. Thank you so much Marie! If you want a unique and special souvenir from Cape Town you have to do this tour, it is safe, short, fun and very easy-going.

I highly recommend this experience! Marie-Laure is such a friendly person, she really made us feel comfortable even if we not used to photo shoots. We felt at ease and relaxed. The poses are natural and it seems that everybody can be photogenic with her! She knows all the nice spots in Bo-Kaap where to take the best pictures. She barely photoshops, and in the end our pictures look very natural and full of life. The portraits are stunning and very personal. She is also super quick and efficient. She sent us the link to download our pics the day after. Those pictures really have wonderfully captured memories of our stay in Cape Town !
