Cape Town's Finest City Bike Tour

What an amazing way to explore the city and learn about its history. It was a misty day but didn’t stop us from doing a complete tour of Cape Town. We stopped for a coffee and snack, which was very nice. Skeeter from Bike and Hike was fantastic!! Highly recommend!!

Loved it! You will not be disappointed! Money well spent.

This was a fantastic way to spend our first day in Cape Town! Daniel is an outstanding guide and a proud native of the city. He took us on a relaxed, leisurely tour that gave us a great overall feel for Cape Town’s neighborhoods, history, and atmosphere. We even stopped at a really nice café along the way for snacks and drinks, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Daniel — he’s friendly, knowledgeable, and makes the ride easy and fun for everyone. Highly recommend!

It was an amazing tour. Our tour guide was very informative and made sure to always make sure we were comfortable and safe at all times. We got to see amazing sites in the city and would definitely recommend the tour. I don't ride bikes often and still had an amazing experience !

We had a private bike tour of Cape Town as a family and this was hands down the best tour we have ever done! Our guide, Skeezo was phenomenal!! He taught us so much about the history of South Africa and Cape Town. His positive attitude and willingness to answer all our questions was outstanding. It was also a very hot day, but he made sure we kept hydrated with water and drinks stops along the way. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat! Thank you Skeezo!

This tour was fantastic. We were optimistic, having seen the previous reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. Our guide, Skeezo, was just brilliant. He looked after us so well and was so incredibly interesting and informative and clearly extremely proud of being part of the change in SA. We saw all the main areas and had a brilliant time. Great way to see the city and exactly what we hoped the trip would be.

Definitely recommend this tour. Abbi our guide was excellent. Patient, funny and informative. Took in the main sites and enjoyed coffee and cake for our break in a beautiful park. Bikes were good quality and water was also provided.

We have been traveling as a family nonstop for the past 20 months and this was one activity my teen boys loved. Not only was it a great way to see Cape Town plus it was much cooler than walking in the sun. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. The pace was manageable and we stopped often to learn about the history and culture around us. We visited several historic sights (the balcony where Mandela gave his first speech after his release from prison, the district 6 museum and Bo-Kapp neighborhood, plus we took a coffee break in Victoria Park. I am not a biker and even I enjoyed the time. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

We had the absolute pleasure of a Cape Town city cycling tour with the wonderful Skeezo. The tour itself is excellent but our guide made it the most wonderful experience even if we had only cycled 10 metres being in the company of such a marvellous guide as Skeezo for three hours it still would have been the best day. Easy and leisurely bike ride making it enjoyable way to experience the highlights of Capetown. Guide was very knowledgeable which helped us to understand Capetown’s history.

Highly recommend doing this one of your first few days. Great way to get orientation of city and see the diversity while becoming educated. Allot of ground was covered as we on bikes so at end felt like knew city pretty well. Abi was a wonderful and if you get him, you will enjoy yourself.

Abie was a super friendly and knowledgeable guide. The bikes were excellent, and the pick-up drop off arrangements easy and with free parking too! We really felt like we got to know CapeTown and a bit of history too, all in about 3 hours. Highly recommend Bike and Hike, so much we booked again for the sip and e-cycle tour in Franschhoek

Very nice bike tour. Full of information and great stories. We had done a bike tour through Cape Town before, and this one was in every way superior.

As first timers in Cape Town we (3 adults 5 kids) went on a tour with Skeezo. He showed us around Cape Town, the highlights, made us feel comfortable in the Cape’s traffic and had answers to all our questions. Riding trough the Company’s Gardens really gave us a historic sensation. Cape Town with Skeezo is a must-do!

Arrived in Cape Town after an overnight flight and had tour booked for the afternoon. It was excellent, Skeezo was our guide and he was great. From Sea Point into the city and back it was informative and so interesting, highly recommended for an overview and introduction to the city. Thank you Skeezo!

Fantastic bike tour with Abineri. Bikes were in excellent condition, helmets provided, pace was nice (and very safety-conscious) and we saw and learned more in a few hours with Abineri than we ever could have seen on foot. In fact, we saw many places we’d never seen on several previous visits to Cape Town. Highly recommend!!

We chose to do the bike tour of Cape Town because we wanted a more intimate experience than riding in a coach bus, and we weren’t disappointed. We had pre-booked at home but we weren’t sure we were up for any strenuous activity after a 2 long plane rides the day before. Happily, we didn’t cancel and were treated to a wonderful journey through Cape Town where our amazing guide Abie showed us various highlights and was able to the rich cultural history of the area. Abie has amazing knowledge and was able to answer all questions about key landmarks, including specific names and dates. He was very personable and regularly checked to make sure we were okay. We felt very safe traveling around the town and didn’t find the ride difficult at all. The time flew by and we actually went beyond the allotted time because we had so much to discuss. I highly recommend this and especially Abie as a great way to learn about Cape Town and experience it in an organized and interesting way. Many thanks!

Great way to see the main sights around Cape Town. Easy cycling at a relaxed pace with stops as required for photo opportunities. Excellent guide in Skeezo who has lived through the on-going transformation from apartheid to present day and shared his personal experiences.

We loved our Hike and Bike experience—it was a great family activity and an unexpected way to see Cape Town. Riding through the city’s busy streets gave us a glimpse beyond the typical scenic spots. The guide shared unique insights and stories that brought the city’s history to life. The mix of urban paths and uphill sections was sometimes challenging but manageable with the frequent rest stops. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable part of our trip.

Best thing we’ve done in Cape Town. We had an amazing guide who showed us the most interesting parts of the city that you’d never find on your own. We weren’t rushed and even stopped for the best coffee in town and tried some local delicacies on our way around.

We started our first full day in Cape Town with the Cape Town City Cycle private tour. As it pertains to getting the lay of the land in Cape Town, the tour exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Skeezo, was incredibly attentive, positive, and knowledgeable; he taught us much about the history of Cape Town and what life is like for many living in South Africa. Perfect weather was a bonus. What a great way to kick off our week-long adventure in Cape Town!

We enjoyed the tour with Matt. Great ride around the city. He was very knowledgeable, patient and professional. We appreciate learning a lot about the heritage, culture and best sights on Cape Town city centre.

We loved our guided tour of the main attractions of Cape Town with Skeeso (so sorry if the spelling of your name is incorrect) who was so friendly and personable. We hired the E bikes which were very easy to use but to be honest we could have just had normal bikes and it’s relatively flat for the majority of the tour. Skeeso had some great information about the different sites of Cape Town without overloading us with too much history. It was a great start to our honeymoon and we would highly recommend it to anyone at the start of their trip who wants to get their bearings regarding the city.

We had an amazing time cycling the city on E bikes with Abie! We hiked Lions Head Mountain with him on the day of our arrival and loved the views and hearing all about the history, landscape and animals of Cape Town. We then asked if he could take us on a tour of the city the following day and he shared so many wonderful stories and took us to see some great spots and made modifications easily based on our asks. Highly recommend!

A very enjoyable few hours cycling around Cape Town with our extremely knowledgeable guide, Abi. We stopped at all the key landmarks and Abi gave us such a great insight into the culture and history of the city. Highly recommend!

It was easy to select the ride we wanted and book online. We scheduled our ride for our first full day in CPT to familiarize ourselves with the City. The meeting place is the Radison Blu hotel which is a great location with amazing views. Matt was on time with great bikes. Matt will adjust the route based on the skill of the riders in the group. We left the Radison and rode along the waterfront, thru the City, the V&A waterfront and back to the hotel. It was a great ride and Matt has great knowledge of the history and routes of CPT. We had a great ride, then had a beer at the hotel overlooking the ocean. If we had more time we would have added the cycle wine and dine tour.

We had a great day thanks to Skeezo. He gave us a lot of cultural and historical background knowledge, showed us great sides of Cape Town and was always incredibly positive, friendly and courteous to everyone we met. A unique experience! Thank you Skeezo!

We did a 4 hour bike tour along the coast with our guide Abi who was awesome!! We tailored the itinerary and he was happy to accommodate us. Bikes were great and Abi was attentive, careful and wonderful to spend the day with. Thank you for a fun day in beautiful Cape Town

Matt really went above and beyond to ensure we were picked up at an earlier time to beat the weather. Communication and organization around this was excellent. Abi our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and allowed us plenty of time to explore, shop and take photos around the city and harbor. Stopping for the best hot chocolate we have ever had in the gardens was a fabulous touch to our winters day. Our cruiser Ebikes did require some maintenance. Highly recommended company. Would book again.

When we arrived at the hotel the guide greeted us then proceeded to match us to the limited number of bicycles to choose from. We had three ladies and three men and there was only one small ladies bicycle available. This was not what was expected as the guide should have had advance knowledge of our family. After wasting about forty minutes adjusting the seats, helmets and adjusting to bikes which were undersized we proceeded on the route single file. We made limited stops with little knowledge shared regarding the area then proceeded to take our family thru downtown at peak traffic to dodge cars and people. We terminated our trip less than halfway point because of the danger and the fact that we had traveled across the world not to waste our valuable vacation time. We gave the guide additional money as he may have had to get a van to transport the bikes back to wherever but we were done!

Matt took us for a beach / city trip and could tell us a lot about the history en present. Took his time an d for us some special photo moments

Loved this bike tour! Nothing better than getting off the plane knowing first two days are taken care of. Teens (17yr, and 15yrs) enjoyed being active (and learning about the city). Well worth it. Also hiked with a guide on different day which we enjoyed too.

We spent the morning with our expert guide Matthew, cycling throughout Capetown. Matthew brought us to all the highlights, but also showed us the little incrowd secrets of Capetown that you don’t read about in the travel guides. We enjoyed the trip and laughters we had riding our bikes. A great and highly recommended trip you should book when in Capetown!

Everyone who comes to Cape Town should do this tour! We spent 3 hours with our brilliant guide Matt taking in the sights from the waterfront, through the city and gardens up to Bo-Kaap and back round to the V&A. The bikes were easy to ride, really lightweight and the route and pace perfect for any level of experience and fitness. There were plenty of stops and we met some great people at the cafes and stalls. The beef and veggie samoosas we’re so good we may have to go back and get some more tomorrow! Highly recommended and much more interesting and fun that the usual walking or bus trips.

We did the city cycle tour with Matt on a Saturday morning. The bikes are easy to use and we felt perfectly safe on all the roads. Amazing introduction to the city which is much better than a bus and you cover much more ground than on foot. There's a lovely stop for tea and cake in the park and samosas in Bo Kaap. Highly recommended!

We had a terrific bike ride around the marina area and into Cape Town with a lovely knowledgeable guide. She had great insights both on the history and on current day living. We were able to customize the trip and extend into a ride along the coast. Surprised by the amount of sea life that occurred with dolphins, sea otters and sea lions active early in the day.

We had a very good time cycling the city with Matt and definitely would not have seen some of the sights on our own. This tour gives you a quick, efficient overview of Cape Town in 3 hours, with two nice stops for refreshment - one in the beautiful Company Gardens and the other in colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood. Most of the route is pretty flat, but there are a few short hilly sections. Some of the route is in the city, some through the waterfront/garden. You’ll see it all on this lovely tour! Enjoy!
