★★★★★ An unforgettable cycling adventure around Cape of Good Hope One of the absolute highlights of our July/August 2026 family trip to South Africa was the cycling tour around Cape Point with Patrick Hendriks from Cape Escape Tours. The route was simply spectacular, taking us along the iconic Chapman's Peak Drive, through the stunning landscapes of Table Mountain National Park and onwards to the breathtaking scenery of Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. To round off an already fantastic day, we visited Boulders Beach and its famous penguin colony. The combination of spectacular ocean views, wildlife (including whales, baboons, ostrich, bontebok) and dramatic landscapes made this a truly unforgettable experience. Patrick was an exceptional guide. What impressed us most was his incredible breadth of knowledge. Whether it was history, nature, wildlife, culture or current affairs, Patrick seemed to know everything about everything and generously shared his stories and insights throughout the day. His passion for South Africa is contagious, and his fascinating explanations added a whole new dimension to the experience. Equally important, safety was always paramount. Throughout the ride, Patrick was attentive, well prepared and constantly aware of the group and the surroundings. His calm professionalism allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience, knowing we were in excellent hands. The bicycles were top-notch and maintained in excellent condition, which further enhanced the experience and gave us complete confidence throughout the ride. He struck the perfect balance between guiding, informing and giving us time to enjoy the surroundings. Professional, friendly and attentive, he adapted the pace to suit our family and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. If you are looking for a truly memorable way to experience the Cape Peninsula, we can wholeheartedly recommend Patrick and Cape Escape Tours. Thank you, Patrick, for helping create memories our family will cherish for years to come. Ariën, Claire, Sarah & Olivier, The Netherlands 🇳🇱🚴♂️🐧🌊☀️

Driving out of the Cape Point Nature Reserve our next stop situated along the False Bay coastline is the famous Boulders Penguins Colony near Simon's Town. The place gets its name from the huge and ancient granite boulders along the coast. This picturesque area is home to a colony of some 3000 delightful African Penguins. Patrick was an awesome, knowledgeable tour guide and showed us many good spots. We had an amazing day. Thank you Patrick! Would definitely recommend!
Frank was very knowledgeable about the history, animals, and plant life of the area. He even suggested a great lunch place. I highly recommend booking this tour.
Our bike tour of the cape was the highlight of our trip in South Africa. Patrick not only covered all of the highlights of the peninsula but also showed us a few local spots as well. He was very laid back and accommodating to whatever pace or level of intensity we wanted. He provided valuable insight on what to do for the rest of our time in Cape Town. Top notch bikes. The views during the tour were absolutely stunning and should not be missed on any trip to Cape Town. A must do!
Friendly guide, brilliant service, good mixture of letting us biking and facilitating (all day around us with the bus); very safe ; gave good background and stories
We had so much fun ! the views were amazing, we definitely would love to come back and do more mountain biking! Patrick was a great guide and great company! The Bikes were perfect, I even wanted to take one home ! If you want to see cape town in a different way, Cape Escape is your best option! you wont regretted it !
We toured Cape Town with Patrick for three days. He is a very knowledgeable guide who takes you to all the right spots to truly experience Cape Town. Some things that really stood out with Patrick: how clean his car was, he was always early or on time, and he always opened and closed everyone's doors. In a world of commercialized tourism, he is a special guide who uses his unique persona and immense experience to wow his guests and give them an unforgettable time! Cape Escape Tours offers a safe and professional environment for a wide range of people including rock climbers, mountain bikers, avid hikers, and tourists anywhere in between. If you are coming to cape Town and want a good experience, you better choose Patrick or you will be missing out... he is simply the best there is.
Very good guide and friendly also hé arrange a very good bike and tell a lot of all we see it was a hard tour MTB but very very beautiful 🤩
We had a fabulous time with our guide, Frank! He was very knowledgeable about each place we visited and kept us entertained with fun stories of his exploits throughout the day! We loved the self-paced freedom and his patience with every stop. Having a personal guide gave us the flexibility we were looking for and we highly recommend this tour! We have lots of great photos to remember our day, especially ones he so willingly took of us both!
Patrick was our fabulous tour guide for The Cape Peninsula tour. Extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating.
Patrick (our Tour Guide) was absolutely incredible, flexible and knowledgeable. If we had more time and were more fit we absolutely would have done the hiking and mountain biking tours too. Thank you for an amazing experience.
The tour was private. I got a dear guide. Nice, patient, full of knowledge. It was a pleasure to see nice views , animals, botany. To get rich information about so many fields. I loved it . Patrick you get 10 stars.
Patrick is an amazing person who know everything around the area! The experience is so different from the other tours. He knows the area perfectly and know exactly where to go . Riding the bike is fantastic and he took us to the best spots of cape of good hope , camps peak
We had a great tour with Patrick. He arranged to go some part by bike and it was fantastic day! Thank you and we hope to come back.
4 of us did an e bike tour from Cape Town to Cape Point, which involved 3 cycling sections, about 35 km in total and the rest in the van. We had a fantastic time with Patrick, he was a great guide and brilliant company. The bikes we had were superb, we have done a lot of e biking and these were in a different league to anything we have ridden before, so light and amazingly responsive. The tour was varied, beautiful scenery and Patrick was flexible and responsive to our needs and wishes. He picked us up and returned us to our hotel, it was a full day, from 8am until 6pm. Highlights were the cycling in the national park to the Cape of Good Hope and the penguins at Boulders Bay. We would not hesitate to book with Patrick again!
We spent 2 outstanding days with Patrick. We customized our trip. Our first day was a visit to Stellenbosch and tour of the winelands with a number of winery tours. Our second day was an opportunity to see the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, the penguins and a number of other stops throughout the day to see Noordhoek, Chapmanspeak, Simons Town and Muizenberg. We could have spent 3-4 days on such a visit. Each photo was better than the previous photo with every mile truly breathtaking. Patrick was an outstanding guide who clearly was an accomplished hiker as he shared great tips for hikes on Table Mountain and Lion's Head. I wish that we would have had more time to experience Cape Town and the Cape with Patrick as 2 days was not nearly enough. In all of our years of traveling I can say that I have never had such an outstanding guide. We feel like we have a new friend in Cape Town and hope to see Patrick again int he future. We were already planning where we would like to spend more time on our next visit and we will most certainly spend time using Patrick's services with Cape Escape Tours. Patrick, Thank you for your special attention. We now know why you love the Cape.
Most epic day of our SA holiday. Patrick is funny, enthusiastic and just a very nice guy/guide. 100% recommendation
Patrick is a fantastic guide and lovely man. He took my wife and I cycling round the cape of good hope. Then up lionshead in Cape Town and finally on a MTB tour of the wine region. All were amazing experiences and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
My partner and I were fortunate enough to have Sally as our tour guide on this amazing trip. We got lucky as nobody else had booked and we got a private tour of the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosh with some truly amazing stop offs along the way such as False Bay, Simon’s Town and Eagles Nest winery. This was the first excursion of our two week trip and we got our holiday off to the best Possible start. Sally picked us up from our apartment early in the morning which meant we got to the Cape of Good Hope nice and early and beat the queues which were already starting to build. The weather was amazing and we got were treated to stunning views throughout the day. Sally was extremely knowledgeable and it was fascinating listening to here speak about The Cape and the country as a whole. I could honestly sit here and write about this trip all day but the long and short of it is this was an amazing trip, seeing an amazing part of the world with an amazing guide. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
An amazing day! I highly recommend, you will not regret, a sure value. I am already waiting to come back to South Africa to do this activity again
