Our guide Yves was wonderful and shared a lot of information about Cape Town and each of the areas we passed through. Boulders Beach was incredible and so beautiful! The drive back through Chapmans Peak was stunning. It was an amazing experience!

Itinerary
Start your Cape Peninsula experience with a stop at Maiden’s Cove, one of Cape Town’s most beautiful viewpoints. Enjoy spectacular views across the Atlantic Ocean, Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles, with time to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
Travel along the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive, winding between dramatic mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy breathtaking coastal scenery and photo opportunity stop along one of the world’s most spectacular coastal routes.
Approximately 2 hours, the highlight of the tour! Spend approximately two hours at Boulders Beach, home to a thriving colony of African penguins. Follow the viewing paths, watch the penguins in their natural coastal environment and enjoy plenty of time for photography. And don't rush away as you also have time to enjoy the beach and swim. Remember to bring your swimsuit and towel. If you're lucky, you may see African penguins swimming in the surrounding waters. Please remember that penguins are wild animals. Their presence in the swimming area cannot be guaranteed, and you must maintain a respectful distance and never touch or feed them. After your time at Boulders Beach, relax on the return journey to Cape Town.
After a hours spent exploring, you can enjoy the coastal drive back to Cape Town with a stop at the Boyes drive which has absolutely stunning views of the False Bay coast. This is also a good spot to watch surfers local and international alike tackling Cape Town’s waves.

We had a great time on this trip! Coco, our guide was friendly and so knowledgeable, sharing many great stories and traditions and history of the places both we visited and sights along the way! The stops were scenic and beautiful and our time at Boulder Beach with the penguins was amazing. I would highly recommend this trip.
excellent.. great tour- really nice knowledgable host loved it the penguins are magical.. quite hard to describe unless you go!
Great day out with lots to see. Cannot recommend our guide Isaac enough. He was informative, welcoming and made the experience so much better. Definitely recommend trying to get yours with Isaac
We had a fantastic experience with our guide, Patrick! He was very kind and knowledgeable, sharing info on what we were seeing and the history of South Africa. The van was very comfortable. Water was provided. There was little opportunity to stop for lunch so you may want to pack snacks. It’s a packed half-day tour but you really see a lot. We returned by 2pm and could be dropped off at a variety of locations of our choosing. Would definitely book another tour again.
We were expecting a tour bus, then Isra our guide showed up in a car for just the two of us. We really appreciated that, and it was a great, personalised tour. We learnt some interesting history and the landscape was spectacular, especially Boulders Beach. The animals were adorable, we saw dassies, birds and so many penguins. We also saw baboons which was a fun surprise. Thanks for a wonderful tour Isra!
Brilliant guide Mr P. Amazing experience- highly recommend
It was great to see the penguins and I enjoyed relaxing at Foxy and Boulder beach, rather than rushing to the next stop. The guide was great! Friendly and very knowledgeable.
This was an amazingly planned tour. We did both boulders beach for the penguins and then cape of good hope and cape point light house. It was surprising to see the penguins so up and close! Our guide Columbe (Coco) was amazing and knowledgeable. She was on time and spoke during the entire tour to tell us of important sites en route and also talk about its history. We really enjoyed her witty commentary and keen eye to spot different wildlife and stopping for photos. We took her recommendations to dine for African cuisine and loved that too.
Perfect amount of time and good price and lots seen. We are happy with it.
Not only allows visitors to to the penguins but also stops at other scenic views. Can be combined with visit to Cape of Good Hope. However then less than an hour to see Penguins as opposed to about 3 hours. Admission charge is extra
I had so much fun seeing the African penguins and walking around this area. It's touristy, but still worth doing! Keren was an excellent guide and did a great job telling us about Cape Town and the surrounding area as we drove. I appreciated that the tour was early enough in the day to beat the worst crowds.
I had such a wonderful experience. The driver Mr. G was very professional and knowledgeable. He did an awesome job. The transportation was comfortable and we were able to spend adequate time with the penguins. Would highly recommend.
Coco was an almost perfect tourguide, very very nice and competent. She knows everything! Thanks! 👏👏👏👏👏🎉
Organisation was excellent, pickup was punctual and we had an enjoyable day. Our guide - Coco - was in touch with us the day before to say hi and to inform about the details of pick up, etc. Coco had a lot of details and history - including also the old Portuguese navigators - to share. We got in a reasonable number of stops, well timed for a half-day tour. Thanks also to our driver for a comfortable journey.
I went on the tour with my partner, we were contacted the day before the booking to confirm pick up location and again on the day just before pick up. Highly recommend the tour, it's the perfect amount of time at each spot and the tour guide we had Coco was amazing, it was great hearing about the local area including history and cuisine, do not miss out on this, great way to see lots of amazing places
Amazing tour and definitely worth it! Everything was well organised and the scenery along the way was beautiful. Coco was an excellent guide – super friendly, informative, and made the whole experience even better. <3 Seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach was unforgettable. Highly recommend!
Very nice trip. Coco was a charming and skilled guide. The trip is highly recommended!
We had an excellent time, especially thanks to our wonderful guide Coco. Our driver was also very professional and safe driver. The stops were carefully selected for great photo opportunities. This tour is highly recommended.
We had an amazing half-day tour to Boulders Beach and Cape Point. Seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach was truly special, and the views along the coast and at Cape Point were absolutely breathtaking. A big thank you to our guide Coco – she was fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great energy, she made the whole experience even more enjoyable and shared many interesting insights along the way.
Brilliant time with Coco (guide) and Enoch (driver). Both a lot of fun and very informative. We got almost 2hrs at Boulders Beach - time to do both walkways and the beach itself. Only one penguin on the beach and surrounded by people so we left them alone. Chapmans Peak drive back panoramic with a couple of photo stops. We got off the mini bus early in Camps Bay and went to the Codfather for lunch - thank you for the recommendation Coco! It was excellent. Thoroughly recommend this trip.
We went to see the penguins but got MUCH more! Yves was such a friendly, funny and omniscient guy, he told us so many things about the surroundings/places/everything on our way to Boulders Beach - it was a joy! Thanks again!!
Such an amazing experience with a fantastic driver and tour director. We had a fantastic day with this fun tour.
Incredible tour for anyone who loves panoramic views and penguins 🐧 Well guided and fits all into a morning with so much to see esp all the penguins along Boulders Beach it's a great walk and good time allocated to see everything. Even better, we travelled with my mother in law in a wheelchair at the time and everything was brilliantly accessible and the guide ensured the Boulders Beach crew had a chair waiting to use the great paths all the way through the site to ensure she could see all the sights too
Wonderful to see the penguins as such close quarters (albeit from a fenced path) in their strange (hot beach) natural habit . Charming . The guide Coco was fabulous with lots of local and historical knowledge . A very safe drive so thanks for the comfort . The venue other than the penguins is perhaps a little underwhelming re facilities but no fault of the tour company . Nice viewing stops on the way .
Coco was the most marvelous tour guide and made our trip extra special. She gave such nice historical background and made a half day trip feel like a full day!
Our guide contacted us the night before and the morning of our trip.Bizo was on time for our pick up and gave us so much interesting information during our trip. The amount of time spent at each part was perfect.
We had a great experience on this tour, our tour guide Bizo was very friendly and knowledgeable, all the facts he shared with us were very interesting and delivered well. The best part of the tour for me was seeing the penguins, we came at the perfect time of day around 9.30am there was very little people there so it was great to have some freedom to view the penguins without the crowds. I really enjoyed the format of this tour of just slowing down in the bus to view some stops and then getting out to view for 15 mins - 30 mins, I felt we had the perfect amount of time at each stop, sometimes tour guides can leave you for far too long at some stops and it is not needed. It was also a nice number of people in the group and Bizo is a good driver, I felt very safe with him. We were back at our hotel for 1.30pm and had the rest of the day to ourselves so it is a great tour for time conscious travellers. I had originally just booked this tour to see the penguins but you see and find out a lot about Cape Town and the peninsula which I wasn’t expecting it was very interesting and I am so glad we decided to do this tour. Thanks to Bizo
Even though it was really high winds that day it was a great 3xperience and our guide was really informative
We can highly recommend this half-day tour around the cape peninsula. Our guide Yves took us to cape point and boulders beach but took us also to Chapman’s peak, fishhoek and maidens cove. He was brilliant in explaining interesting facts and was fluent not only in English but French as well. The pick-up went perfectly and the admission fees for cape point and boulders could be paid via card. We were a group of 11 people which was a perfect group size too. We highly recommend this tour as you get to see so many things (nearly the entire south of the cape) in only half a day.
Best tour ever and Yves was phenomenal. We had plenty of time to explore on our own and even got to swim with penguins!
One of the most beautiful tour, led by the best guide in Cape Town, Yves . He was fantastic, showing us the best part of the city and giving us amazing historical insights about Cape Town. I can’t recommend this tour enough! truly stunning!
Lovely way to spend time in the Cape Town area. We were picked up by Bizo and headed to Boulder Beach which was stunning. The penguins were so adorable and beach was breathtaking yet be aware of the very cold water temps! We headed to a few more stops: taking in stunning views and learning about townships in the Cape Town area!
Loved my visit to Boulders Beach; especially taking the very scenic Chapman’s Pass Drive. Early start to half day trip is great as means you get to Boulders Beach before it gets really busy. The two hours there gave plenty time to see the penguins, dip toes in water at Boulders Beach and visit the gift shop. Communication was fantastic: received WhatsApp messages the day before confirming pick up time and name of tour guide. Tour guide messaged in the morning as well. Felt in very safe hands with Guyon, our guide. Polite and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
Overcrowded van with poor air conditioning made for an unpleasant 5 hr, half day trip to Boulders Beach to see the penguins. To my surprise, 13 passengers were forced to fit into the van, and I had the misfortune of sitting in the back row seat, with 3 other adults. We were literally elbow-to-elbow. But what made things even more miserable was that the van's AC was not working very well. No cool air ever reached the back of the van, where it was most needed! This was totally unacceptable. No one should book with this company unless they (1) ensure that the AC is working properly in all their vehicles, and (2) restrict the number of passengers to a max of 11 per vehicle. 13 passengers per van was utterly ridiculous. Be advised to stay away from this company until they guarantee the above two suggestions.
Brilliant half day trip, felt like we got to take in a lot and still had almost of the day left. We got to the penguins nice and early before the crowds so got some brilliant pictures, and then had a really informative drive along the amazing Chapmans peak. I cannot recommend our guide Yves (eve) enough - he was brilliant, and if you get him you’re guaranteed to have a cracking day.
Excellent tour, scenic drive with photo stops, plenty of time with the penguins and arrived early before the crowds. Would recommend.
Pick up and drop off was right on time and right in front of our apartment. Patrick, our driver, was friendly and informative and communicated clearly the plan for the day and everything we needed to know. We felt lucky to have him and enjoyed knowing that we didn't have to worry about anything while on the trip with him. Boulders and Foxy beach were fantastic, a must-see!
We loved this trip with Patrick! He was so professional and relaxed and the group was so informative. Would really recommend
Great half day trip, we chose to stay at Boulders Beach to see the penguins but there is an option to add the Cape. Our guide, Bizo, was amazing, friendly, very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The route was fabulous, seeing both the west and east coast, the views are to die for.
Beautiful views and knowledgeable driver! It you want great pictures and an opportunity to learn more about local culture this is for you!
Perfect overview and time with penguins. Isra was our guide and did a great job pointing out facts/sights and meeting us on time.
Nairobi National Park half-day tour was an absolute delight. I have been on many safari’s but Francis made this experience unique and enjoyable by being so flexible and accommodating. Highly recommend
As soon as I knew my cruise ship was going to be late. I contacted the company for a rescheduling, but they did not get back to me, and took my money with no refund. I won’t recommend this company.
This was an easy and seamless way to spend some time at Boulders Beach. We were picked up by our driver directly from the hotel. Along the way, we got some history of the Cape, and had a few stops for pictures at some picturesque landscapes. The highlight of our day was the stop off at Boulder's Beach. The guide will not accompany you onto the beach, which is fine for me as I like a more self-directed pace. The African penguins were everywhere along the beach, and we had ample opportunity for photos and to watch them from above. There are also some hyraxes in the shrubbery, which were a cute bonus. We then walked to a nearby cafe and waited for pickup. Of note, there is an option to combine this with a trip to the Cape of Good Hope if you like, but we opted to stay at Boulder's Beach. I feel as though we would have been rushed if we went further, the beach is the only option that allows you to spend more time observing the wildlife at your leisure. Perhaps a full day tour would be better if you want to combine with other Cape options.
Isra was a great guide, he arrived on time and took us to see a lot of great places. He told us so many things about the area during the drive and it was really cool to hear the stories and history of the place. The penguin encounter was great, he dropped us off at the place and we had freedom to roam around on our own and see the penguins.
First we were told the tour started at 9 but the van showed up at 8:10 and left before we could settle something as we were still eating breakfast. We had to call Viator and they showed back up. There was no notification at all that they had changed the time on us. We also only had 14 minutes to see the penguins before we were ushered back to the van but we spent 45 minutes at a lighthouse. The highlight of the tour was the penguins but we had hardly any time at all with them and had to pay extra for the entrance fee. There are also many entrance fees you have to pay on top of the tour fee so it ends up being much more. I’ve never written a negative review or a tour before but this one calls for it.
Although it was a little hard to find our departure point and guide, the tour was great! Chris was great to us! He was knowledgeable and flexible. He drove us back to our hotel after our long trip to the departure point which was great and gave us great insight and where to see the penguins the best.
Guide Chris was super knowledgeable and friendly, learned a lot on the drive. At Boulders Beach he explained what the chances are of seeing penguins in each spot and our meeting spot afterwards. I was able to swim (actually, wade) with two penguins and see others up close, as well as see the colony itself! New and comfortable car
Excellent experience with a great tour guide. Isra was very knowledgeable, kind and respectful tour guide. We traveled as a family and he was very sensitive to our children’s needs. I highly recommend him as a tour guide. He was patient and provided us with a great historical overview while also Giving us time to spend alone as a family.
