We had a lovely trip with Mawande! He knows a lot about history, nature and the culture in SA. We did a lot of fun activities and when I had to go to the hospital Mawande was really helpful which I really appreciated. Also all the accommodations where we stayed at were very nice. Next time I will travel with him again, thank you for all the pictures, driving us around all day and the fun dinner table conversations!

What a fantastic experience. Our amazing guide Mawande was so professional, knowledgeable and took such great care of us. The tour itself was great and packed so much in a limited time - the highlight for sure has to be the Garden Route Game Reserve - an incredible accommodation and experience. Dylan ensured everyone was comfortable, had a good time and got the most out of this trip. The itinerary was very well planned, just enough to keep the days busy and diverse without feeling rushed. We had a fantastic 4 day Garden Route trip with Mawande, our excellent driver guide. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and we learnt so much about South Africa. He made our trip truly unforgettable! The scenery is very beautiful with vineyards, mountains and coastal views. The highlight of the trip was the Garden Route Game lodge and safari. I would highly recommend this trip and definitely ask for Mawande. He was truly amazing.

Mawande - what a fantastic, incredible, gifted tour guide. He is legendary - an absolute first class man: professional, punctual and personable! He honestly made this trip the highlight of our stay in South Africa. He was across all the details, full of knowledge about the route and all the destinations and a great driver too! The 4 day tour was amazing- we loved Tsitikamma and the Game lodge. The accommodation was really good and each stop offered a different perspective on this multi-faceted country. From ostrich farms, suspension bridges, African penguins to the Big 5 - we covered it all! But honestly, if you’re doing this tour - you need to ask for Mawande as he is an exceptional tour guide and I can’t imagine doing this trip without him.

Frank was an outstanding guide, very Knowledgeable and made our tour extra special. The two hotels and the safari lodge we stayed at were very comfortable and friendly. We appreciated the little extra touches the Garden Route Safari Lodge provided ie a stop for drinks in the evening safari and toasted marshmallows after we came back from the evening safari. With the morning safari we welcomed the hot water bottles and kagools to keep us warm!

The thing that made our tour special was our guide, Mawande. He was organized, helpful, and very knowledgeable. He gave us insights into South Africans beautiful scenery, politics, history and geography. Mawande was a fantastic host and guide. We recommend Bokbus if you are looking for a good value tour that has adventure experiences, safaris, animal encounters nature and coastal scenery and walks.

we had a great trip with our guide Mawande. the attractions were simply wonderful, we were able to spend enough time at each sight - but not too much time to get bored - and Mawande explained many interesting facts about the regions we visited. The Game Reserve was fantastic - could have stayed there a full week! We had a great time...

The tour was good but the tour guide/bus driver was 90% bus driver. We really did not learn much about what we saw

Our amazing trip was full of nature and adventure experiences which included safaris, animal encounters, nature walks and beautiful coastal towns. The vehicle was clean and comfortable for the journey. Our guide, Mawande, was a very experienced guide whose knowledge of this area was very interesting and informative and made our trip all the more special.

Great guide Mawabde de who was very knowledgeable and gave us great insights into S African history and a lot of information about the area The accommodation on first night was lovely and a lot of nice touches but no view which was a shame as thats what the Garden Route is about.The restaurant was great..good value and good atmosphere Second night accommodation in Stormy River Village was average and tge meal was in a “ back room” and would have been better in a restaurant with a view. Garden Route Safari…great accommodation and great guide for Safari on which we saw everything we expected. Would have been nice to have more time there before game drive. Overall a good taster..a lot of driving and the first two nights accommodation would have been better somewhere with views . Highlights.Garden route lodges snd safari/good guide/views on drives

Hi my name is jack, and I absolutely loved this tour! This Adventure created a lot of fun and life long memories. My tour guide Mr Vaughan was an absolute legend. He was very fun and enjoyable to be around. We had a very challenging group for him, but he was able to problem solve and make everybody happy throughout the trip. From walking with the big elephants to petting a wild cheetah. And also doing the world’s highest bungee jump. This tour had a ton of fun excitement!!! Highly recommended 100% and would do again in a heartbeat!

Overall, the tour took us to some beautiful locations, and the safari game drives were a definite highlight. The accommodation on Day 3 was excellent and exceeded expectations. However, there were several downsides: 1) Our guide Vaughan was very nice, however, often seemed irritated by requests and only agreed to compromises reluctantly. He also rushed through certain parts of the tour and provided minimal information about the areas we visited. 2) The time spent in the car was much longer than expected. 3) Some activities were chosen by a small part of the group, leaving others waiting over an hour. The visit to the elephant sanctuary was disappointing from an animal welfare perspective, some of us denied to do it. 4) The accommodation and dinner on day 2 was below standard. While there were memorable moments, improvements in these areas would have made the experience much better.

A fantastic opportunity to see the amazing scenery of the Garden Route. There were opportunities to do adventure activities like bungee jumping or zip lining, but those who didn’t want to could still enjoy the locations of the Storms River and Mosselbaai. Mawande was a brilliant guide providing interesting insights into the areas we were going through. We greatly appreciated his driving skills travelling over the mountain passes. He was careful to ensure our comfort every step of the way. We’re really happy that we took this small group tour.

Wow - what a great jam packed trip with a nice group of people from around the world and our tireless, knowledgeable, kind, and patient driver guide Mawande. We experienced Penguins, 2 Safari rides, the gorgeous wild coast, elephant and / or bird sanctuary, hike to the suspension bridge, beach time, Ostrich farm, Cango Caves all the while staying in quaint authentic accommodations. The scenery is spectacular and learning the details of struggle and growth from Mawande enhanced the trip immensely.

Our trip started by being picked up on time in a clean bus, being introduced to Vaughn who was amazing. Right from the beginning Vaughn (Mr V) was cheerful, helpful, caring and informative. Day 1 we had traffic issues, which created several hours delay - Mr V was on the job - we didn't miss anything, we also had more time to explore beautiful Hermanus. Mr V was the key - extremely organised and accommodating. We were introduced to many South African customs, sayings and of course gorgeous scenery. We covered the whole itinerary and more. The accommodation (for the price) was better than I was expecting - always clean and the included food options were tasty. Overall a great trip.

Highly recommended garden route tour! The itinerary was very well designed and we had the chance to see and do a lot despite the short time and long distances. The van was comfortable and clean, the accommodation offered went beyond our expectations, food and restaurant choices were very good. What really made the difference was our amazing tour guide Vaughan, who is a wonderful person of great company and outdid himself to customize the trip according to the preferences of the group.

Really fun tour, Chris was a great guide, full of interesting information and always pointing out neat stuff on the way. Made a big effort to accommodate everyone on the tour where possible, but kept the schedule running on time.

Christopher made the experience pleasant. Its much better going with Chris than going by ourselves. We've been travelling for nearly 4 months now and prev guided ourselves. This guided tour I found far superior than our self guided travel. My advice is go with Chris and get the maximum out of your experience.

I really loved this 4 days. The itinerary was perfect: so many things to see and do in only four days: cave, safari, so many beautiful natural spots…. A very good way to see a good stretch of South Africa! I felt relaxed and safe and still saw and did so much… our guide was Vaughan and he was so nice, knowledgeable and funny. Really sweet, thanks a lot! For the accommodation: I opted for the dormitory and actually, it was the more luxury choice. Because the guest house in Tsitsikamma is not the best (we ate there and saw where our colleagues from the tour stayed): the hostel in Tsitsikamma is very very nice with a big pool and several hot pools- better and cheaper. But just a side note! All in all: GO! So worth the money!

The tour was very pleasant, starting with a very nice, courteous and respectful, driver/guide, the Vaughan (thank you for your attention since from the pickup till our drop off. Also, the bus was very clean and comfortable, providing a safe tour. The events suggested were very pleasant. Our family, with 2 teenagers) loved it! 🙏🏻😍

Vaughan was an excellent guide. He had a nice balance of providing information and letting g us observe on our own. He was willing to answer our questions and was very knowledgeable. I appreciated that he provided us with options since we were a small group; we were able to enjoy more additional activities that really enriched our trip. Overall, the trip was the perfect amount of time and gave me a good impression on the southern part of the country.

Our guide Muwande was amazing ! He was Very Informed and a pleasure to spend 4 days with . We recommend the garden route in the winter - great weather and fewer passengers ! Our van only had 5 people so it was very comfortable and a balanced group. The stops on the garden route were short but just enuf to get the feel and views . The accommodations were CLEAN and most were really cute and authentic . Bok Bus communicated well throughout the entire booking and scheduling Would recommend for people who are looking for a great value .

The tour was awesome, made particularly special by the tour guide Mawande, who had so much knowledge about the history, politics and geography of the beautiful garden route. The nature on the route was absolutely stunning and the experiences involved were extraordinary, particularly the garden route safari. All of the accomodation and meals were amazing and couldn’t more highly recommend this tour. It exceeded my expectations greatly and is well and truly worth the money.

The tour was very well put together and ticks off the essential parts of the Garden Route along the way. Our guide Mawande was extremely well informed and provided valuable information about different places as we passed through or arrived at them. His knowledge was incredibly vast and was able to answer any questions we had about where we were going and also South Africa as a whole which was extremely handy so early in our stay. The Garden Route Game Lodge was a real highlight, the lodge is brilliant and meals are all provided - and this is only one of the stops. Overall communication before and during the tour was excellent and I can’t thank Mawande enough for providing such an amazing experience for the start of my first visit to the area!

A truly amazing Garden Route Adventure & Safari experience. We saw so many fascinating interesting things and met some incredible people along the way. Visiting Cape Town has always been on our to do list and then we came across BokBus Garden Route Adventure Tour on TripAdvisor, they have so many fantastic reviews so we decided to give it a try to coincide with our visit to Cape Town. Mawande was our solo guide & driver for 4 days, he made everything awesome. We learned so much about SA from him all thanks to his knowledge and planning. Hint, expect to see everything listed on the TripAdvisor itinerary and more. All the restaurants & meals we ate were really good and exceeded our expectations. Here are some of the highlights from the tour, Cango Cave was actually really cool, the Garden Route drive was beautiful, the penguins, the Safari experience, plus Mawande took us to places that only local people know. Needless to say, we took some really great photosand had the best memories on this trip. All the accommodations we stayed at were clean and functional, we felt 100% safe the entire time. All in all, Mawande is a fantastic host and guide, he is a true Ambassador for South Africa. We 100% recommend BokBus.

I had such a good time - so glad I booked this trip! Mawande was an amazing guide and host, articulate and informed and I learnt so much about SA and its history thanks to him. He really went above and beyond trying to spot giraffes and so on for us on the road side and stopping when we asked. And patiently explaining SA politics and history. It was a small group of 8 and we gelled pretty well. I felt comfortable as a solo traveller and safe at all times. The itinerary was pretty non stop but I feel like it was worth it as I got a good insight into the different areas of the two cape regions we visited - I'd booked the single room option in hostels, we got upgraded to the guest house the first night which was gorgeous and the hostel the second night was fun and set in amongst amazing greenery. The Lodge on the final night was just beautiful. If anything I wish the trip had been longer - it really warrants a week so you can properly explore, but if you have limited time like I did then go for it!

This is a fantastic way to see the garden route. Benjamin was a super driver and guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and made the whole tour. The garden route game lodge was superb.

I have nothing but praise for our tour and tour guide Mawabde. The places we stayed at were all good especially De Akker guest house, where everything was immaculate. Also The Garden Route Animal Park. I would certainly recommend this tour

Thx Mawande for making this Tour to a great experience! The more or less typical touristic tour has been unique because of Mawande. His knowledge and expertise in case of all topic’s concerning South Africa’s landscapes, Nature, History or everyday features was fantastic. During he drove us safely through the route, we had some really exciting conversations and learned an incredible amount of fascinating information. Some of the items on the program were not in my personal interest and they are designed for the maximum tourism (e.g. Ostrichfarm or Elephantpark). Nevertheless our guide made the journey through the beautiful landscape to a wonderful experience so I gained a better insight into this special country and places despite the short time.

Starting with our guide Christopher, such a great speaker, full of knowledge and such a nice guy . Every place we visited was amazing, the highlight was viewing the Cheetah and Rhino at the garden game lodge though I thoroughly enjoyed everything ! Views were magnificent and all I can say is book it !!

Great trip with a full program. The days of the tour are packed with things to see and do. Our guide Chris took us to a lot of beautiful places and always provided information and amusing anecdotes. For the 4 days he did everything he could to fullfill the wishes of all participants on the tour and reacted to all our needs. Two places we stayed at were awesome and the third was still decent. The food was always very delicious and the two safari tours in the Garden Route Game lodge were simply amazing and the big highlights of the tour. In the south of SA/Capetown you probably will not find many better, more comprehensive experiences.

My lovely daughter surprised me with this trip for Christmas. Wow it was a trip of a lifetime.A wonderful experience South Africa is such a beautiful country. Our tour guide Mawande is so knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent guide. The dinners were excellent and accommodations perfect. I could never have seen as much as I did in 4 days without this tour. Elephants ostriches safari caves penguins. The drive on the coast breathtaking
