This is a well organized tour, very professional but unfortunately too rushed. Guide is super interesting however the activities could be better and the route shorter

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Begin your 3-day packed and fast-paced journey along the Garden Route from Cape Town with a drive on South Africa’s scenic Route 62. If your focus is to see as much as possible in 3 days, this this adventure is for you. ( Travel tour route: about 450km, 6hrs ) Depart from the tour's Meeting Point at 6:45am in Cape Town, or if booked early you can arrange hotel pickup from 5km of central city. Gaze out at the scenery along Route 62, one of the most dramatic roads in South Africa, through the semi-desert Klein Karoo to reach Oudtshoorn. Visit the Cango Caves to tour the depths of the caves and wander along the subterranean pathways, admiring towering stalactite and stalagmite formations. Your evening is then spent at your leisure in Oudtshoorn. === Accommodation included - subject to stay package selected: Saver own room/dorm stay > Uthando backpackers, 3 star Comfort > 88 Baron van Reede guesthouse 4 star Luxury stay upgrade fee > Buffelsdrift
Day 2
2
(Travel route today: about 350km / 4 hours) Check out of your Oudtshoorn accommodation in the morning, and take part in an optional orphaned "elephant observation in nature’’ experience (at own expense) at a nearby reserve as you observe and follow elephant guides alongside these gentle giants in their natural bushvelt environment. Their parents were poached in the Kruger National Park, and in efforts to keep this family together; the herd was hand-reared and now roam in the vast Cango Valley at the Buffelsdrift Private Game Reserve. Visitors are welcome to observe and experience these loveable creatures’ caring nature in the wild Karoo setting from a reasonable distance under the guidance of their human caregivers and guides. Journey onwards to the next stop.
Leave the area and resume the journey along Route 62 to the region, roughly an hour away. Take to the water on an easy canoe ride (no training needed) with a local guide, and paddle along a calm river that winds its way through lush forests... Indigenous forests and campgrounds line the river bank and it’s not until you stop paddling and let the gentle current guide you, that the abundance of birdlife becomes apparent.
Relax on a scenic coastal drive, enjoying views of Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley, and prepare for the adrenaline-rushing view that lies ahead: one of the world’s highest bungee sites at Bloukrans Bridge. Standing 709 feet (216 meters) above the Bloukrans River, the bridge is the perfect place to face your fears with an optional bungee jump! The thrills don’t start when you jump, they begin as you zip line your way out to the jumping platform underneath the colossal bridge. If it’s not for you, get your adrenaline fix by watching the jumpers bounce through the air and then rather do a relaxing walk in the nearby forest area. The duration of the bungy jump activity can vary subject to group size and how busy it is.
Please Note > This day-by-day itinerary serves as a guideline as your trip may need to run in reverse or a different order based on seasonal or operational availability. Then, travel to the coastal town of Sedgefield, Wilderness to check in to your overnight accommodation and spend the evening at leisure. If time allows and the sun is still out, go for a dip in the Indian Ocean and watch the sun slip beneath the waves, or perhaps take an stroll along the beach— a sweep of white sand known as one of the most beautiful spots along the Garden Route. === Accommodation included - subject to availability and stay package option selected: Saver/dorm > Pili Pili backpackers, 3 star Comfort > Fairy Knowe or similar, 4star Luxe stay > Dolphin Dunes or similar
Day 3
3
(Travel route today: about 450km / 6 hours - excluding game drive) Leave your accommodation in the morning, and start the journey back to Cape Town. Enjoy your last day of adventure with an included game drive by 4x4 vehicle to see and search for some members of the Big Five animals. Your game ranger will use their local knowledge to track the wildlife through this coastal renosterveldt and Cape fynbos, keeping an eye out for animal tracks while sharing share stories about the animals you find and also fun facts about the plants of the region. -- After lunch it’s back to the minivan to journey onwards and reach Cape Town by early evening (from 6pm to ± 9pm) to conclude this epic adventure.

The guide Denver was amazing!!!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Gerhard during our honeymoon in South Africa. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and enjoying every moment. Gerhard is not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but also genuinely kind and thoughtful. He always paid attention to the little details, constantly thinking about our wellbeing and making sure everything was perfect for us. Thanks to him, our experience was much more than just a tour — he made it truly special and unforgettable. We felt very well taken care of throughout the entire experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you so much, Gerhard, for being such an important part of our honeymoon and for giving us memories we will cherish forever. We highly recommend him & his team!
We had an excellent experience with Hotspots2c during our South Africa travels, including Cape Town, the Winelands, Cape Point, and the Garden Route. What especially stood out was how much effort the company put into organizing and coordinating a complex itinerary that combined multiple tours, accommodations, transfers, and even external tour operators — all carefully fitted around our schedule and later cruise departure. It was clear that the team genuinely cared about making everything work smoothly. The flexibility and coordination behind the scenes were impressive, especially given the number of moving parts involved across the 10-day itinerary. Our Garden Route guide, Isaac, was friendly, knowledgeable, and worked hard to make the experience enjoyable for everyone in the group. Throughout the tour he shared many helpful explanations and insights into South African history, culture, and society, including thoughtful discussions around apartheid, the Zulu people, and the country’s broader historical development. The overall experience combined beautiful scenery, wildlife, culture, history, and local experiences in a way that felt both authentic and well organized. We would gladly recommend Hotspots2c to anyone looking for a well-coordinated and meaningful way to experience South Africa.
We had the most amazing tour from Friday to Sunday, and our guide Denver made the whole experience unforgettable. He told us so much about Cape Town, the culture, and the people, which made the trip even more special. We did so many incredible things, but the absolute highlight was definitely the elephant walk and the safari. Everything was perfectly organized, and Denver was always friendly, helpful and fun to be around. Thank you for such beautiful memories — we would highly recommend this tour! 🐘✨
We had Isaac as a guide for our 3 day! A once in a decade storm decided to try and ruin our trip. But Isaac went out of his way to move things around to make the most of our three day experience. We traded the kayaking, and zip lining day for an extra safari day which was way worth it! Did cost a little more money but that was expected. Isaac picked out dinner locations every night and boy does he know where to eat! Every place we stayed and every place we had dinner was amazing. Isaac went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed every hour of our trip with him. A very genuine man! The world needs more people like Isaac! -The Breuer’s
Despite once in a decade rain, Maudi, our guide worked hard to keep us on schedule, in good spirits and happy. We saw incredible animals, staid in lovely locally owned inns, explored caves and more. If you only have a few days to explore, this tour is worth it
We went deep into the caves on adventure, did kayaking, jungle safari, bungee jumping...all in one trip with our wonderful guide Ulrich in our 3-day trip. Well planned tour with ample stops, good company with people from across the globe in such a beautiful scenery.
Very busy tour with a lot of driving. A lot of options made communications difficult as guide offered solutions which were not followed. Tour pickup was late as office did not inform us of changes. Tour tried to be all things to all people—not possible on this busy tour.
Very balanced experience and great choice Of accommodations. Ulrich was a great guide and the group size was ideal. The only thing I would change of the tour would be to give an option to those that don’t want to do Bungy Jumping to stay at their accomodations and have some free time, because it is a long drive and wait for those who opt out of the activity. The safari was the highlight of the trip and rightfully so, the place is beautiful, very premium experience. Also, all of the places where we stopped to rest were fantastic choices and it adds to the great experience. This is Ulrichs great work showing with every detail!
From the moment of pick up to drop off, I was in my happy place. We had a small group and they made the trip so much more enjoyable. We couldn't of asked for a better guide in Deven. I have been on many guided tours and he is a wonderful guide and person. We all felt welcomed by him. He had a sence of humour that endearing. He was very informative and kept a very relaxed atmosphere all the while by keeping our schedule on time. The locations the tour took gave me memories of a lifetime. I am so glad I took the time to go.
My husband and I did the 3 day Garden Route Oudtshoorn tour. Denver our guide was fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable, funny and kind. Everything we visited exceeded our expectations, caves kayaking, the beautiful beach and of course our experience with the elephants and the safari will be cherished memories for life. Thank you so much for this.
The tour was amazing, from begin to end, the car rides were with a beautiful view every time. The safari’s were both very different but so nice! I had a lovely 3 days at the garden route.
We have 3 incredible days with beatiful landscapes. Our guide Uriel was so amazing and interested in explain all of things would need know. He was friendly and lively. He make our experience fantastic!
Would highly recommend the trip. Whilst there is a lot of driving, the views are beautiful, there are plenty of interesting stops, and our amazing guide Uriel gave us tons of local insight into the areas as we were travelling through. Activities were unforgettable and very varied, so the three days passed so quickly. Thanks to Uriel for bringing so much knowledge and humour to the trip, making it so memorable.
I had a great time and precious experience with a small group, led by our guide Denver. He went above and beyond to ensure an excellent, smooth and fun experience for our group. Not only did he manage our day to day program but he also showed tremendous knowledge of the place, history and culture throughout our journey. I would definitely recommend this tour and hope you are blessed to travel with Denver.
Amazing trip. Our guide Denver was amazing very friendly and funny throughout the trip and nothing was too much trouble.
We had an amazing 3 days with our fantastic guide Maudi who was very informative and made our trip as comfortable as possible despite the long drives. Maudi made stops along the way to get a coffee or to take a photo. We got to see so much in such a short time. Our small bus was also very comfortable. Our highlights were definitely the elephants and the safari but all stops were definitely worth it. We chose the backpackers accommodation with private bathroom which was really nice. The accommodation in Sedgefield was fantastic. It was directly at the beach with a view of the Indian Ocean from our room. They also have great food and cocktails. We definitely recommend this trip.
Amazing experience! I went as a solo traveler and I had the best time! Our guide Neville was an absolute star! Knowledgeable, patient with all of us and very funny! All the activities were well organised and timed. I enjoyed every single one! We were all very well looked after. I would highly recommend it if you ever visit Cape Town.
During our tour we visited so many beautiful locations, did some amazing activities and had lovely stay’s. Our lovely tour guide Uriel was the icing on the cake and without him this experience wouldn’t be as awesome as it was. 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone!!
We had a terrific tour, the best experience possible! The organization, transport and accommodations were simply excellent and all activities so interesting and enjoyable 😀 But it was our tour guide Uriel who made it into a truly memorable experience, given his openness, great knowledge, care and the fun he brought into everything. Thank you so much for this lifetime experience!
We had such a great time! Everything went perfectly and Denver was absolutely amazing. He’s not only very knowledgeable, but also kind, fun, and truly passionate about what he does. He made us feel comfortable from the start and turned the whole experience into something really special. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide – highly recommended!
My three day garden tour with Ulrich Damon was outstanding. He took us to see some unique sites and enjoyable experiences. It was nice that he prioritized local business ownersa and shops. He was kind to the group and an excellent leader and facilitator. He also helped us stay on time and made the best use of time by calling ahead for meal orders for example. Great experience!
This was definitely one of the most amazing things I did in South Africa! If you have time during your visit, you must do this tour!! I made memories for life. This tour can work for everyone because there are also options for all levels of fitness and personalities, including different cave exploration choices, ziplining instead of the bungy, etc. We had fun doing activities rain or shine. Denver was a wonderful guide and went above and beyond all day, every day. If you get a chance to tour with him, you are very lucky!! Have fun :)
I’m writing this review on Monday, July 21st, 2025, just one day after completing a 3-day "Garden Route" tour with Hot2Spot alongside a group of seven close friends. While the route itself is beautiful, I feel a moral obligation to WARN other travelers and call urgent attention to the conduct of our driver, TK. What we experienced was unacceptable, unprofessional, and unsafe. Day 1 – Friday, July 18th: Hostile Welcome Our group faced a plumbing emergency at our accommodation that caused a 20-minute delay for pickup. When I tried to explain the situation, TK met me with an aggressively hostile attitude. I asked to sit in the front seat due to car sickness — a request he initially agreed to — but he spoke to me very rudely when I tried to roll down the window. Once the rest of my group arrived, TK publicly scolded us again and told us he'd now have to “drive super fast” and “risk fines” because of our delay — making us feel both unsafe and unwelcome right from the start. His tone was so aggressive that we stayed silent out of fear of escalating things further. The first two hours of the ride were filled with tension and an air of intimidation. Day 2 – Saturday, July 19th: Escalation The following day, a delay in our zipline activity (outside of our control) caused another minor delay in returning to the van. TK began yelling at all of us, asking why we weren't "running toward the van." This time, we had had enough and responded to his tone with equal frustration. TK later half-apologized, saying he didn’t “want to be this monster,” yet continued to blame us and remained visibly angry. That evening over dinner, we reflected on how the tour had been tainted by fear and stress, yet we were determined to make the most of our final day. Day 3 – Sunday, July 20th: Verbal Abuse & Threats Things reached a disturbing and dangerous peak on Sunday. After the safari, TK picked up the rest of our group from their skydiving activity. He suddenly accused us of "bullying another passenger," a false claim that felt clearly fabricated to discredit us — likely because he sensed we might file a complaint. At that moment, I spoke up and said, “You don’t have the right to talk to us like this.” His reaction was terrifying. He began yelling and threatening me, repeating phrases like: “You better listen to me!” “I know your character!” “Try me and you’ll see!” “You’ll have to listen or f*** around and find out!” And most shockingly, he threatened to physically remove me from the van and leave me behind in the middle of nowhere. Final Thoughts I have never in my life felt so unsafe, humiliated, and shaken during a tour. This experience was not simply a matter of poor service — it bordered on emotional abuse and physical intimidation. Even as I write this, I am in disbelief that a company like Hot2Spot would allow someone like TK to represent them. Several questions come to mind: How long has TK worked for this company? Has he undergone any psychological evaluation? Does he hold proper tour guide certification or licensing? Is Hot2Spot doing anything to monitor the behavior of their drivers? Another guide from a different agency we met at a restaurant advised us to call Hot2Spot directly. But at the time, we were afraid that if TK found out, he might retaliate before dropping us off safely. Request to Hot2Spot I strongly urge Hot2Spot to: -Install dash cameras in all vehicles -Reevaluate driver screening and training processes -Take customer safety and mental well-being seriously -Tour companies have a duty of care when transporting people to unfamiliar places. In this case, that duty was completely broken. -If you're a traveler considering this tour, think twice. And if you're part of Hot2Spot management: please DO SOMETHING before someone gets hurt. Please note that the rest of the trip — the moments when we weren’t with TK — were truly beautiful. The other people we met along the way were amazing, especially during the safari, at the caves, and with the elephants.
The trip was so much fun and the guide (Denver) did an amazing job at making it even better. The food was amazing at all the places we stayed as well.
The trip was amazing. Went on the 3 day trip with the guide named Denver. He was great and gave a lot of insights in to South African history and culture! A very high recommendation!
Everything was amazing and made even better with our driver Denver, he made everything so much better I hope if you do this it’s with Denver he made even my girlfriend and mother feel better about the bungee jump when they were scared he made sure everything was on time and we were having fun and always took us to places with good food and cheap beer if that’s what you like, I would do this trip again 100% and 1000% if it was Denver the guide I hope you get him as your guide, thanks again for everything Denver
My guide Denver was extremely knowledgeable and provided professional service while engaging all participants in the tour. He made sure that each participant arrived in time to do the different activities that were included on the tour. Denver maintained safety for the tour while driving from one location to another.
The experience was amazing! Denver was incredible - so funny, welcoming and accommodating. I would recommend him 100 times over. The experience was incredible and I would recommend EVERYONE to do this!
Nuriel was a great tour guide, and the accommodations were lovely. Each activity, especially the kayaking, was exciting and unique - something about each one had a component that you can only enjoy in SA
Amazing experience seeing this part of the came. I enjoyed our group and Denver was a great guide with incredible knowledge of South Africa and very entertaining, patient and wonderful personality. Thank you Hotspots2C for a grand trip.
Denver was an excelent guide! Very safe, funny and informative. He always made sure we got to the activities on time and was very reliable. The tour was amazing, I would recommend to all travelers coming to Cape Town. Mandela was also an amazing ranger at the safari, very knwoledgeable and funny. We had a lovely tour and were very satisfied.
Minibus was comfortable. Our guide, Denver was fun and competent. Itinerary was mixed and enjoyable. Denver knew where to get good food too. Elephant walk and safari in Bottlierskop was great!
The experience was amazing! Denver was a great guide, very responsible driver, always made sure we were confortable, safe and happy. He gave us great tipps, information about the places we were going and the history of South Africa. All of the activities were amazing, specially our encounter with the elephants! Everything was planned so we would have the best experience. I would 100% recommend this tour!
I thoroughly enjoyed my three day Garden Route safari. My guide TK was friendly and engaging, and provided knowledgeable information about the area. The itinerary was planned well: we covered a lot of ground on the first day and completed one activity. The second day was packed with the highlights of the Garden Route, and the third day ended with one of the most exciting activities, the safari. The accommodations and food were satisfactory. I would have enjoyed a hike along the coast, and I think following the coastal route beginning at Chapman's Peak Drive would have been very scenic.
We were looking forward to our safari but very sadly had to cancel. The team at Hotspots2c were simply outstanding; helpful beyond belief, compassionate and worked with us to sort out our booking. Thankyou 🙏
Had a great time. Though this was a short trip, it looks like there is more to see and experience. Definitely was a good teaser and I know I have to go back and do a drive myself.
Surprises by the program and flexibility of our guide/driver. Was no problem to throw an ostrich farm visit in the existing program. We had rain on our Safari trip but this guide just made it fun. Except for the cats we saw everything. I can only say it was more them worth it!!!
Dylan was a very patient and funny guide who took this responsibility serious. He wanted the tour to be perfect for the group. Everything was very well organized and we had a lot of fun together. My boyfriend and did the budget accommodation and it was definitely the right choice. Especially the Pili Pili accommodation in Sedgefield was not budget at all (for us). In total we loved the tour and we would do it over and over again. :)
Fantastic weekend!! So happy I booked! Whole trip was well organized, full of fun & action packed! Mr. Maudi was such an excellent guide - sharing his local knowledge and experiences, keeping group on track, and my favorite part, his humor and jovial spirit. He made the trip so enjoyable & smooth for the whole group. And brought the jokes! The accommodations were very comfortable & pace was perfect to see as much as we could in the 3 days. Thanks for a fun weekend!
Our entire trip was exceptionally well-organized, and everything went exactly as planned. We absolutely loved the routes and the stunning photos that were taken along the way. The stories and historical insights shared at each destination made the journey even more fascinating. The accommodations were wonderful, especially Oakdale in Oudtshoorn, a beautifully maintained guest house with a rich history of over 175 years. The homemade breakfast options were simply amazing. This trip is highly recommended, and a special mention goes to Mr. Moudi, who was truly the star of the journey. His humor and deep knowledge made the experience unforgettable!
Just got back from my 3 day safari tour. Beautiful experience. Our guide Dylan was the best, very cheerfull, explained a lot along the way, even showed us some local music. You get to do so many activities, the acomodations are very confortable even though they are shared and if you want to upgrade to a private room you can. Lunch and dinner are not included but very well resolved and accessible. Breakfast was great. We got to see so many animals. Finally, do the bungee jump.
Excellent activities and a beautiful drive. Food stops were delicious and Maudi was a fantastic guide. When I come back I hope to see him and do this again! Much love from the Seattle boys.
The 3 day garden route tour was a great experience. Beautiful scenery, and we saw lots of animals during the game drive, even cheetahs. Our tour guide Dylan managed everything great, shared interesting facts along the route and made us get the best out of the three days. Really recommend!
This tour was great! My guide Dylan was so fun and kept our groups energy levels up the whole time. I am so glad he did not let me chicken out of the bungee jump ( do it- it’s worth it). On a more serious note, I’m a recurring solo female traveler and I was really happy to have been able to explore some parts South Africa in such a safe and efficient manner. I had a lot of incredible firsts on this trip including the kayaking and bungee jump and truly recommend it to anyone.
Well paced tour showing highlights of South Africa , suitable for average fit 70 year olds. Denver was an excellent tour guide who knew the answers to all our questions and interacted with everyone on tour.we chose luxury accommodation and was not disapointed. The Animals were amazing even in very wet conditions. We would do this tour again, highly recomend Denver and his team.
It was incredible, so fun, met very nice people and it was really worth it. TK was our guide and he was the best! would really recommend it to everyone!!!
My friend and I absolutely loved the trip. We saw so many amazing places and did adventurous activities. Our tourguide was super fun, friendly, well prepared and told is great stories and facts about South Africa. I really would recommend doing this trip. Accommodations were also great.
