Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel

We stayed at the Mount Nelson for our final night in South Africa, and it was the perfect way to end an incredible trip. The first thing that struck us was the setting. Even the drive up to the property through the tree-lined entrance is beautiful, and the gardens make the hotel feel like a peaceful retreat in the middle of Cape Town. The Mount Nelson has a timeless charm that makes it feel unlike anywhere else. The food was phenomenal, and breakfast the next morning was one of the highlights of our stay. The selection was expansive, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. A special thank you to Warwick from Guest Services, who was incredibly informative and helpful throughout our stay. We also have to recognize Cheslyn, who took care of us at dinner. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant, and she left a lasting impression on us. We only stayed one night, but we left wishing we had booked longer. We’ll absolutely be back and look forward to spending more time at the Mount Nelson on our next visit to Cape Town.

A must-visit if you’re in Cape Town! The atmosphere is elegant, classy, and timeless, and the afternoon tea setting is absolutely beautiful. The variety of options is impressive, so there’s something for everyone. The desserts were outstanding, especially the passionfruit cheesecake—it was absolutely delicious and my favorite of the day! Everything was beautifully presented, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back for afternoon tea on my next visit to Cape Town 🤍.

We had a delightful lunch at the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town. We ordered a vegetarian pizza, a fresh fruit platter, pastries, and drinks, and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. What truly made our visit memorable was the exceptional service. The staff were warm, courteous, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our dining experience special. Their hospitality was truly above par. The elegant ambiance and beautifully maintained surroundings added to the overall charm of the place. Highly recommended!

We had the most beautiful afternoon tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel from 16h00 to 18h00, and it was such a special experience. The setting was elegant, calm and timeless, exactly what you would expect from the Pink Lady. The menu was beautifully presented, with a lovely selection of savoury bites, finger sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. I had the mango tea, which was a fruity infusion of hibiscus, apple, mango and lemongrass. It was light, refreshing and paired so nicely with the afternoon tea. A special thank you to our waiter, Nomkitha, who made the experience even more memorable. She was warm, attentive and professional, and looked after us with such care. Nothing felt rushed, and she made the afternoon feel relaxed and special. It was a beautiful Cape Town experience and definitely something I would recommend to anyone wanting a classic, elegant afternoon tea.
