I wish I had a room with the seaview. Nevertheless, I could still enjoy the seaview, albeit limited time from the common area without the comfort of my room. I like the fact that they have an elevator to the rooms upstairs. This is convenient for accessibility. Parking is also right in front of the entrance.

Excellent stay! Magellans is perfectly situated in Simon’s Town, a short drive (or walk) from the main hub of the town. Rooms were quiet and I had a lovely Mountain View. The staff were friendly and professional, the hotel was well maintained, and I felt very safe staying here as a solo female traveler. The included breakfast was delicious, especially the made-to-order omelettes. Excellent service throughout. I would definitely stay here again!
We stayed one night on our final day in Cape Town. This would be considered more of a bread and breakfast in the states. I thought it was perfect!! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are nicely remodeled. The location is perfect and the owners prepare your breakfast to order in the morning. I only wish we had stayed here more than one evening! Thank you for the wonderful service! We hope to visit again!
We booked sea view room. Stayed for 2 nights, it was excellent spacious - clean - has balcony. location is on the top of the hill which not suitable for walking (for us), but the view was excellent. the Breakfast was basic but still decent. The staffs also very helpful. They do have luggage elevator so we dont have to bring our luggage to our floor.
The location right next to the nature reserve is quiet however the rooms are not soundproof. In fact the noise from the inside staircase is extremely loud. I found the communication around safety surprisingly vague and unsatisfactory. Having lived in CPT for 2 decades, I repeatedly asked very straightforward questions about security, specifically what safety measures are in place, and whether it is safe to leave windows open, particularly at night. Unfortunately, no one was able (or willing) to give a clear, concrete answer. Responses remained non-specific and did not inspire confidence. In an area where security considerations are important for many travellers, clear and transparent communication is essential. Guests should not have to guess or read between the lines when it comes to basic safety information. Especially since Fishhoek and Simonstown were hit by criminal activity recently. I also believe that installing burglar bars on all windows would be a sensible improvement. This would allow guests to confidently leave windows open for ventilation while being protected both against baboons and potential criminal activity. I would recommend that the guest house improves both its security measures and the way these are communicated, so guests can make informed decisions and feel at ease during their stay. The breakfast was very basic with cheap ingredients and excessive bacon smell. The staff member were making themselves breakfast while talking to each other on top of their voices (nobody seemed to care putting the extractor on). Bedding was comfy with lots of good pillows to choose from. The room was very spacious. Nice bathroom too. The place needs a manager.
