Didn’t know what to expect from Xel Ha but so glad that we went. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever been to before. Snorkelling in the estuary was fab - saw plenty of fish. With the all inclusive option, literally everything you could need is provided. Unlimited soft drinks was a massive plus point due to the heat. The lazy river is just great. It’s a real river! Floating lazily down a mangrove river - not something you do every day. Loads of other activities. Loved it.
We went on several excursions in the Yucatan on a recent visit, and this was the most memorable of all. Our transportation was comfortable, picking us up from far north in Costa Mujeres and only making one stop at the Xcaret station, which was well-maintained and busy but pleasant. Our tour guide on the first leg of the trip, Elly, was one of the most animated, fun, charismatic and professional tour guides I've had in 40+ years. His passion for the Mayan culture was palpable, drawing from his own native heritage and energetically articulating his culture to us in an engaging presentation. His sense of humor was refreshing. He also showed great respect for our bus driver, which showed me that he cared just as much about his coworkers and support team as himself. He's a true gem. The next leg of the trip was a fun-filled adventure at Xel Ha, where we had 5+ hours to do whatever we wanted and eat/drink as much as we cared for. It was a treat ziplining with my son for the first time, and the waterslide was CRAZY (but be forewarned, as you gush down the spiral slide, salt water sprays forcefully on your face, which I was unprepared for). The food was top-notch for a theme park and the buffet was located in a cavernous but open-aired, Disney-like thatched lodge (one must sample the tacos, which were stellar even compared to our Majestic A.I. resort buffet) and the drinks were abundant (the soda fountain was flowing smooothly for us). This is a water-lover's park through and through, and there are tons of towels everywhere and places to see and experience. I haven't been to a natural water park since River Country (now abandoned) in the early 1980s, so there was almost a notalgia I felt while tubing through the mangroves and diving off the 15-foot cliff. Back in the days when water parks felt more adventurous and less focused on reducing liability (there are waivers, of course). Our family had a spectacular excursion with Xcaret and I highly recommend this activity combo. Again, props to Elly for making this a memorable and happy experience for us.
Great experence, park ,and activity is spot on.
Best combination of cultural, educational, and fun in a stunningly beautiful setting. I am eager to learn more about Mayan history and Tulum due to Braulio's fascinating tour. It was a privilege to visit this Mexican national treasure. Xel Ha is really bigger and more beautiful than I imagined. The Mexican food buffet was outstanding, our guide recommended it and he was spot on! So much to see, do, and eat (and drink!).You can swim in cenotes, a cave in the huge lagoon go snorkeling, lounge, eat and drink to your heart's content. You can interact with sting rays, dolphins, and even little fish who will nobble off your foot calluses! Lockers & towels are also included. Your money us well spent! Xcaret, and especially Brulio is highly recommended!
Filiberto was a great server.
Tulum: A small archeological site and the weakest part of the tour, as our guide did not provide a lot of information. I have mixed feelings because Tulum is a very beautiful place and our guide did provide us with some information, but the lack of substantial commentary was a downside. Xel-Ha: Incredible site as I had never been to a natural park like this. The location, the views, the wildlife, the facilities and the food (mexican buffer for us) were amazing. No negatives about this one. The organization of the tour like the communication and transport were also great. The price is high because of Xel-Ha, but i think it is well worth it. In conclusion: a great tour especially as a 2 in 1 (we were short on time), but Tulum was like an afterthought. A full day at Xel-Ha is more worth it in my opinion.
Excellent experience at Xel-Ha and Tulum. Staff at both places were very informative. Alexis with the stingrays, the team at Seatrek, Raul at the historical Mayan site at Tulum and the lady at the entrance to the waterslide at Xel-Ha plus all staff in the restaurants at Xel-Ha were excellent.
Xel ha the must see park in tulum area you will be mind blowing From wonderful scenic under clear water to good food and drinks Love ❤️ 😍 💖
Don’t recommend. It’s a Mexican Disney Land without the happy faces. Stay at your resort and enjoy your ocean, if you can. The people handling the food and drinks start late and close early, they charge unnecessary exorbitant fees for the extra excursions, wont return again.
The tour was Very organized and our tour guide Paola was clear, very knowledgeable and funny! Food and drink were good!!
Went there after seeing Talum great way to cool off and have a great time. Food, drinks great and beautiful scenery. Doug UT.
Great organisation with transportation and guide instruction. Our trip to Tulum was in the afternoon which we felt interrupted our enjoyment at Xelah. Afraid it very much didn’t live up to expectations at Xelah. Food was passible at best, but what do you expect at locations like this. More importantly is that every activity that was worth doing you have to pay extra for. That was a surprise and for us was a total money making racket especially with the price we paid per person! I’d rather activities be included at no extra cost and pay for the food! There were a few free activities which definitely didn’t live up to expectations. This was a second visit to Xelah for our friends who were with us, and they said it’s nothing like it was; it was far better on their previous trip. Sorry, total waste of money, wound not recommend.
Signed up for Xel-Ha all-inclusive and Tulum tour. Price wasn't too bad considering you get to visit two sites but we never made it to Tulum because we were exhausted from the heat and activities at Xel-Ha. Noticed some reviews complained about the cost. I thought it was ok since the cost included pick up from our resort, unlimited food and drinks, and return transport even though we opted for a taxi back to our resort instead. We booked with the park directly. They picked up from our resort in a large air conditioned coach bus that also had a restroom. The water at Xel-Ha is beautiful. The staff wonderful. I don't know why some people complained about the food. We thought the hot food was pretty good. We saw a kitchen staff member constantly check on the food and writing notes. We also saw someone in a lab coat testing the water from the water fountain in the kids area. It seems they take quality very seriously at Xel-Ha. There are multiple restaurants in the park so maybe we got lucky at the one we went to. Our waiter was very attentive and so funny. It was the restaurant close to the water slide. Loved that they have the life jackets all over the park so that guests are free to grab one whenever they want to jump in the water. I thought the kids area was a great detail for families with young children. The treehouse still provided a jungle experience for the little ones while offering safety. Mosquitos were savage but not the park's fault. My only complaint is the lighthouse/slide. I honestly think it is very dangerous for kids. In the U.S. kids are not allowed on slides over a certain height. The lighthouse is far too high up for young kids but they don't seem to be concerned at Xel-Ha. Parents, please exercise caution. They do not allow parents to hold onto their kids when going down the slide. Watch a Youtube video on it before you go. Wish I did! There is not enough safety briefing about the slide before they let you up. Also, on a scorching day, going up all those steps to the top of that slide is extremely dangerous. I almost passed out from heat exhaustion and no way was I going to slide in a spiral down when I already felt dizzy so i took the stairs back down very slowly, which was also pretty unpleasant. There are plenty of other negative reviews about the questionable safety of the slide. Please exercise extreme caution and know what you're getting into. My 6yr old is officially traumatized after getting on it. He took the slow one while my husband took the fast one because the staff told them they couldn't go down together. Why didn't they tell us before we climbed all the way up to the top?! How is a 6yr old supposed to go down a 12 story slide without an adult? That would be a lawsuit in the U.S! But my kid wouldn't be able to go back down the stairs either. You're just stuck and have to go down the damn slide. Again, be warned. Aside from the slide, we had a really great time at Xel-Ha. We had two little ones in our group and they wouldn't have made it through all the walking necessary at Tulum so we decided to head back to our resort instead of Tulum. The heat plus walking and swimming totally wore us out. I do not recommend doing the Xel-Ha Tulum tour if traveling with young children. This was my 2nd time at Xel-Ha. Last time was 17 years ago. Food and drinks are better now. Less fish to see in the water sadly. For the most part, the park seems better managed.
The most amazing tour yet again with Grupo Xcaret: Tulum and Hel-Ha Water Park. Wonderfully organized whole-day tour, clean coach, fantastic staff: Kevin ( our marvelous guide), David our driver and Alan - the additional supporting guide. Thank you for presenting Tulum and Mayan culture in a very comprehensive, fun way. My family and I had a superb, memorable experience.
My day trip to Tulum and Xen Ha was an absolute delight! The stunning archaeological ruins in Tulum offered a fascinating glimpse into Mayan history, complemented by the breathtaking coastal views. Xen Ha's natural beauty left me in awe; from snorkeling in crystal-clear cenotes to relaxing in the lazy river, every moment was magical. Our guide, Tainara, was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing insights into the local culture. Tainara's guidance added a personal touch to the experience, making it truly memorable. This all-day trip was a perfect blend of history, nature, and fantastic company.
Good combination of Tulum and Xel-Ha trip as it is only 15min apart. Long day trip but very punctual. Well organized and easily identified spot and transfer bus. The only reason I gave 4 star is about 40min wait in the transfer point on the departure trip and tour guide missed giving meTulum wrist band just because I fell asleep in the bus.
Very knowledgeable and professional tour guide and well organized operation prior to and during the day of tour. Would recommend to friends and family for furure visits to canucn area
Great park... the water is turquoise it's magnificent lots of fish to see, big and small... we had the chance to see rays without paying for the activity to swim with them.. 125 Cads per person l entry with unlimited non-alcoholic drinks, breakfast + lunch at the buffet so it's worth it, extra activity inside, we swam with the manatees it was great, rare to be able to go to water with them, give them food and caress them... between Xcaret and Xel-ha it is better to do the interior (zip line, water games, etc.) photo system is great. 👌
It was hot! Bring an umbrella. Our tour guide/company gave us water bottles filled with cold water so that helped. Our tour guide,Jorge, was fun and friendly. Xel ha was perfect after spending a couple of hours in the heat of Tulum.
I highly recommend Xel-Ha Park and the Tulum ruins guided tour. I want to give a shoutout to Alex from the Cenote Snuba add-on experience at Xel-Ha Park. It was my first time scuba diving and Alex made me feel safe and comfortable. Definitely recommend this experience!
I love Cancun and a lot things they offer for all ages. Took my kids here for the first time and mine 3rd and it never disappoints. A little history in the AM to finish with water park in PM. Highly recommend it for all ages
This was an absolutely fantastic experience from beginning to end. We had two adults, 15 yo, 13 yo, and 11 yo. The company is so well organized, on time, and prepared. The cold water bottles at the beginning of Tulum are a nice touch and our tour guide, Jose, is an absolute gem. He had so much knowledge and was charming and informative and open to all of our questions. The timings to tour around Tulum and then go to Xhel ha were perfect. I wouldn't have wanted to spend any more - or less -time in either place. The price was fantastic and was so great to bypass the line at the park by having the wristbandsalready prepared. All in all, I say 10/5 stars.
the best part was swimming. The water is nine and well protected. Go early to the park because there is SO much to do and see. I would say that once is not even enough to truly enjoy the place and relax.
We cycled, used the little trains, snorkelled and zip wired. It’s beautiful. And the lunch was delicious. There are captive animals, inc dolphins, but it’s a conservation project, so acceptable
I would have liked more information about how the trip worked. I wouldn't have brought water if I knew they were going to provide it. It would have be nice to know beforehand that lockers and towels were included. I really enjoyed the Tulum tour although it was surprisingly warm for January (to me, not to the guides - haha). The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I would have signed up to swim with the dolphins if I'd known more about how the park worked. They said buy tickets before we leave for Tulum, but not knowing the lay of the land and all I was hesitant to do that. So we went snorkeling and then just kind of sat around. We are in our late 60s so we felt like we were there a little too long. I think they have a lot of buses leaving at different times and I would have liked information on that so I could have left earlier. But it was a great tour and for the more adventurous it probably wasn't enough time!
I Worth every penny. The unlimited drinks was an absolute perk! They gave us a water bottle at the ruins first thing and we were able to use it in the park to bring our premium drinks with us on the lazy River. If i had to do this over I would be at Xel-ha open to close. The food is 5 stars, and the drinks are unlimited premium drinks. Towels. Snorkeling equipment, lockers, and tubes are included. Take advantage of the photo package and take all the pictures at each park camera. I suggest wearing a rash guard so you don’t have to get the sunscreen they sell there. It really helps since you’re in the sun all day. End your day in the hammocks. We cannot wait to go back.
Tulum and Xel Ha were both very cool to see and worth it. I did think the tour started very early, considering a lot of it was spent traveling and transferring buses. We started off on one bus to Xel Ha, where we then got off in order to sign up for additional activities which were not included in the tour price if we wanted. Then we got onto a different bus to travel to Tulum only to go back to Xel Ha later in the day.
Would definitely recommend this experience for that perfect combination of culture and history, and fun! At Tulum archaeological site, our tour guide Greg was brilliant, very knowledgeable and passionate about the Mayan culture. The only thing to improve the experience is to have more time at Tulum itself, but we appreciate that there aren't enough hours in the day. Xel-Há was so much fun, in a stunning setting. The laziest lazy river was a great start, followed by snorkeling, exploring Mayan caves and other activities. The food and drink here was also great, with very helpful staff.
Tulum was amazing thanks to our guides Lalo and Eduardo! Our driver was amazing also and all the staff that helped to take care of us we got water and drinks and well informed of the ruins! The weather was amazing and clear skies..not humid at all! Pictures came out just the best!! Xel Ha was soo much fun…Xcaret makes sure we get there early to have first pick on the special activities that need reservation and a payment! We did Snuba and Adrenalina! Snuba was such a great experience diving into the cave of a cenote, Roberto and the staff all helped out so much and there were many safety precautions, lifeguards and help in the water! I struggled but Roberto helped me throughout the activity…thank you so much for this experience!! Adrenalina was also so much fun with Miguel and the other staff thank you!! Imersiooonnn!!
The ruins were cool but the entire morning was spent transferring shuttles or standing in line with our guide. The guide was nice but spoke for over 10 minutes about the Mayans math. This would have been more appropriate on the shuttle. It left us with under 30 minutes to explore on our own and get back to our shuttle. Xel-ha was fantastic and had we known how little time we were actually going to spend at the ruins- we would have opted just for the day at Xel-ha. You could always get a taxi from Xel-ha to the ruins- outside of a joint tour package.
Should have a full day, don't go to Tulum and this in one day. Tulum is great to visit but this one is not enough time to enjoy everything in a half day. It was fun to float around and to snorkel here and there. Didn't know how to look around at first. Bring a pair of aqua shoes. And learn about the place before you go.
Tulum was really interesting to visit and our tour guide Kevin did a great job explaining different cool aspects of the site. The guided tour was 1 hour and the free time to look around the rest of the site was 1 hour. Xel-Ha was lots of fun. Because you're only there for the afternoon, I would recommend booking just one optional (paid) activity in order to fit the other included experiences in. I would recommend bringing water shoes for the whole site. I went by myself, but this would be an awesome place to go with friends and family. The massive spiral water slide is lots of fun but it's quite intense with the speed and turns at the bottom. I would recommend Xel-Ha for families with children, but not for very young children.
While the Tulum ruins are beautiful and interesting, if I were to do it again, I would do 2 individual tours because Xel-Ha is so awesome, you need a full day and more to experience everything. What an amazing place, we snorkeled, cliff dived, rode multiple zip lines and rope courses, the giant tower water slide, floated the natural lazy river and just free swam and the amount of fish we saw throughout was amazing!! oh and the food was kid friendly and very good!! What an amazing awesome day!
This was a mixture of culture and water fun!! We enjoyed a 2 hour trip to Tullum, with very informative guide and then arrived at Xel-Ha for around 11.30 am to spend the day until 6 pm which we found was plenty of time to get around, although we did not do the extra charge activities. The only downside to this fun day is the lack of changing room facilities . There were some but not enough and we found ourselves walking to and from different locker areas to find somewhere to get changed at the end of the day. However, this did not detract from a very enjoyable day.
This was an awesome experience! Tulum was beautiful and the guides were great. Xel-Ha was so much fun-we didn't want to leave!
I loved the swing zip line and my littles enjoyed the mundo the niños. The park is huge, we weren't able.to make our way to the lighthouse slide.
Our tour guide at Tulum was amazing and very informative- anyone visiting Cancun should experience Tulum and it’s history! As for Xel-ha; this is one of the most beautiful places and it’s natural beauty helps make the experience out of this world. There is so much to do here for the whole day and to top it off the facilities and food are great too. Highly recommend!!
Tulum was nice to be able to visit, it was just incredibly hot. I pictured it as a calm and peaceful place, but when your bus pulls in there are people trying to sell tou everything at a very overpriced rate. The ruins were good. The park is another story. The place is HUGE, so you are constantly walking from one place to the next, and I mean WALKING. My kids are teens and it was still frustrating. We booked the manatee activity as my daughter really wanted to do it, and yes the manatees were precious. But for 80 per person it was not worth it. Additionally in order to get the great pics that they take for you, you must buy a pic package that is also EXPENSIVE. Yes there are places to take pictures all over the park, but for 80 a person it should come w the price of the event. The zip lines are really for 5-10 year olds as they are short and low to the water. Don't be fooled by the very enthusiastic tour guide as they work for the company. The video they show you on the bus is silly, as everything is exaggerated. There really is not enough stuff included in the original price. The slide is fun (and high) and all food and drink is included. I would NOT tell me best friend to go here, I would say save your money.
The Tulum tour was great and very informative. Well structured and kept us all interested. Xel-Ha was fantastic once again. Plenty to do and the food was amazing.
The tour was very informative. The down side was timing. The bus was late to our hotel, which left no time for shopping once the guided tour was over. It was hot, but they provide water upfront, although the water is warm before the tour is over due to the heat. It wasn't unbearable, but probably because I'm from a state that gets very hot in the summer. This was an interesting experience for my family (ages range from 3-35). Xel-Ha was great! The buffet food was really good, and the snorkeling experience was exciting. They have life jackets, so the cenotes are safe and fun for all ages.
We loved Xel Ha. Our daughters prefer that we spend a full day there next time instead of half a day. We enjoyed the Maya history provided by our guide Aiyury. It was amazing to see the city that built. Well organized tour with appropriate time at both places.
Tulum was amazing, great history and you can see into another world very eye opening. Xel-Ha was fun but I feel like could have been done better. The food buffets offered were adequate and tasty. I feel like more info on lockers, towels, snorkeling equipment and so forth would have been nice beforehand. But overall the atmosphere was fun and very fun. Manatees we’re awesome, dolphins were great. And the floating in the river was perfect. If you plan to go I say do it but prepare yourself beforehand!
This day was really fun and I’m glad the transportation was included . They give you a free water bottle which is nice and the history in Tulum is amazing . In Xel-ha we bought the picture package and that was 100% worth it. The park is big so you have to try hard to not get lost . Overall fun day they had lockers, bathrooms, and showers. Snorkeling was beautiful and the lazy river didn’t really push you down so you kind of had to push yourself . I liked this place and so did my teenage daughters. Food is average and the facilities are clean. People are nice and after all a good day.
Amazing place... Very nice with all inclusive for drinks and food but all activites.. if you want to swimming with doplhins or Manta or seatrek ziplines on bike ar speedboat i need more extra money.. is really overpriced.!!! but location is stunning and extremly beautifuul and you will love it... Tulum is nice too but in this time the beach was closed which was big dissapointing :( but we enjoy this trip a recommended for every one... But better option will be spend whole day in xel Ha and Tullum make privatly antoher day.
The park Xel-Ha was fun and we were able to do the dolphins activity, which was very nice. Snorkel very cool. It is important to let the costumers know that there is no breakfast included, we were told that a light breakfast was included and it didn't. We were able to eat until 12:00 md. Also, doing Tulum tour is nice but if you are doing Xel-Ha, due to my personal experience is better to do it alone so you can really go over the park and enjoy properly the all-inclusive rate.
It was so much fun. My teenagers enjoy it very much. It was a unique experience. There is so much to do at Xel ha. Food and snorkeling gear was included.
A very pleasant and exhausting (in a good way) excursion. Staring with our very energetic and informative representatives, to our guide in Tulum we were very pleased. The ruins are both fascinating and beautiful. Onto Xel-ha, there are a lot of extra activities that can be purchased. We had to wait in a very long line to purchase. I wish there would have been away to pre purchase activities in order to have more time in park. There are so many exciting things to do and see in this park. It is huge! I will def do a whole day there next time!
We had a great time, wish there were more hours in the day to enjoy. The price was reasonable, the park was very clean, tidy and in good repair. We had no problems at all.
We booked the Tulum/Xel-ha tour and was not disappointed. The tour guides (Hernan and Margarita) were very knowledgable and helpful. Hernan was our groups personal English speaking guide. He was more than willing to answer extra questions and even take pictures and recommend places for great couple pics. The bus ride was comfortable and air-conditioned with Wifi access which was nice. I liked how they provided a reusable water bottle in Tulum that could be refilled in Xel-ha. In Xel-ha, the snorkeling and activities were amazing! I definitely think all day would be too much and the half day after Tulum was just right. We were able to eat great food, have some drinks, and do all of the activities with time to spare to make the bus back to the resort. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would book another tour similar to this the next time we visit.
