Actually I am very disappointed to this activity and my booked tour was canceled at later afternoon of Feb 4 and then at afternoon of Feb 5, I have to accept a tour which include Tulum Mayan site only, but my booked tour was Tulum Mayan Ruins Cenote swim. And this new tour took around 7.5 hours, but I seat in the car for 5 hours just for pick up other people and transportation, it’s really horrible experience

Tour guide Maria was so knowledgeable. Paco- our driver did an excellent job navigating through traffic. Thoroughly enjoyed Tulum & visit to the cenote.
I like the pick up in the hotel where we are staying. I was looking for a tour that we will be picked up because my husband has disability. Even though they are late to pick us up, Cancun Travel Experience did call me in what’s app the reason of delay. Marie, the Tour director is very knowledgeable on Mayan history. My focus is to explore the area, so we didn’t stick to listening to her, we just keep an eye to where they are. It’s a 4 star because the cenote they picked and included in the package is just so so
Not too long of a day. Bring a reusable bottle/cup, no plastics allowed. Quick moving, not a lot of time shopping which was ok. Very knowledgeable guide. It was wonderful having the Cenote to ourselves, no crowds. P.S. their fries were excellent, highly recommend.
This tour was great! Jackie our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! We got to know great insights about the history of the Mayan Ruins and the cenote swimming was perfect! We had the cenote all to ourselves! Would highly recommend this tour!
This was not a great experience- the tax payment in cash is a racket across all tour companies but this one charged us for 2 kids under 12 even when we showed them the law states under 12 don’t pay. They refunded us after we argued about I but really ruined the day.
There may be other fees not covered by the purchase of the tickets. It rained hard but still had a great tour.
After booking and getting really eager for this experience— I showed up on time(the van was late) and I wasn’t not able to take the tour due to not have usd cash for a mandatory environmental fee. Although I booked at the last minute, you shouldn’t be able to book without confirmation of that acknowledgment. To find out I could have still gone on the tour and paid electronically was frustrating and disappointing.
This was a fun, informative, and family-friendly experience. The cenote was nice and relaxing. Ask for Tobias at Juan More Burger. Great service and tasty food!
I did the Tulum/cenote tour with Abbi and Felipe. Abbi was an incredible tour guide. The tour was smooth and we all had fun! He even bought me a water when I forgot my card because I was thirsty. 10/10
Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing due to poor communication. We confirmed our attendance three days in advance and repeatedly asked for information about the pickup point, but never received any helpful response. Despite informing them that we would be on a flight 24 hours before the tour (which is why we reached out earlier), they ended up canceling the tour for us, citing our unavailability. This was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.
THEY STEAL MONEY. DONT TAKE THIS TOUR OR ANY OTHER FROM THIS COMPANY. THE WORST experience I have ever had. I travel at least 4-6 times a year and have NEVER encountered so many inconveniences. 1. They cancelled on me the same day of tour. I couldn't get any other tour that day. 2. They rescheduled for the next day and made me have to get a taxi to get to the meeting point. I had already paid for hotel pickup! 3. I paid for a tour in Spanish, they put me in an English tour. 4. They told me they had different payment options, they didn't. Only cash, which they SHOULD have charged with booking. I didn't have enough cash, so THEY LEFT ME STRANDED at a México Walmart. 5. THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. THEY STOLE MY MONEY. DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR..
Nice combination of ruins and cenote. Would have appreciated more time and explanation at the Tulum site - seemed rushed. A bit too much time at the cenote.
Tulum is a beautiful National Park. Jackie and our driver were great and super nice. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, loose fitting clothes and an umbrella. It is very hot and sunny, just like at Chichen Itza. Visiting the cenote after privately with our group was amazing. Lunch is not included so bring cash or card... the tacos were perfecto!!!
The tour was great. Very upset about the additional “tax” charged when we arrived. One couple didn’t have cash so they left. Another left in disgust.
We enjoyed a well orchestrated trip to the ruins of Tulum with our very knowledgeable guide, Julian. The food was great as well
Honestly, the whole thing was poorly organized. There were four of us waiting for the bus, turns out it was a mini van, which looked very nice. The driver gets the name of the other couple and turns around and heads over to the van, I had to almost yell out for him, like, could you not see us? Then he said he was told to pick up two people and then somehow checks and found us on the list. The ride was a VERY rocky ride. He did not speak to us the entire time and we just headed out outside of Cancun. We assumed it was just the four of us, but we ended up picking 5 more people in Playa del Carmen, which is like an our from Cancun. We finally get to the site and the driver tells us that the guide is coming in another bus in 10 minutes. We waited 20 minutes total. I do have to say that the driver was really nice and he was really just getting paid to drive because he freaked out a little when the guide didn’t come in 10 minutes. The guide finally comes in a big bus with like 20 other people. Some people needed to use the restroom, so we go to one of the shops before we went to the site. There, everyone just went different ways, so we ended up losing some people and that wasted at least 30 minutes of our time. The guide didn’t even smile, he didn’t even try to make the tour fun, instead he looked annoyed. We finally get in and wasted more time waiting for the people we had lost. Once we’re all together, we stopped a few times and it was hard to understand what he was trying to explain about the city. There were other guides who were sharing very good information with their groups and had something to differentiate them as guides. Our guide sounded like he had just memorized what he was saying from a book and spent more time counting people than seeing the area. The cenote was okay, nothing crazy. We then we headed out after 2 hours there with two more people because, apparently, they were staying at the same hotel as one of the couples in our van. We were so confused as to why they didn’t ride with us in the first place. The reason I give it 2 stars is because the Tulum ruins area was beautiful and the food at the cenote was good
Jacqueline Asked For More $$$ When We Got To The Ruins. Asked Us On The Tour To Go To The Exchange Booth & Do It With Our Passports. I Told My Wife I Was Confused As 2 Why We Would Do That If I Just Give Her The Requested USD & She Change It To Pesos Wtf Is The Difference? She Kept Demanding Us Guests Trying 2 Enjoy Our Excursion Go Do It. Ok Whatever. Waited 30 Minutes After Back & Forth With Her & Other Guests On This Excursions And Finally Done. Kept Shoveling Out More $$$ Everytime. Once At The Bus Where We Took One Bus To Another Bus She Asked For Money There Also. It’s Not About Whether We Have The $$$ Or Not It Should Already Be Pre Said In The Instructions EXACTLY What Is Needed On This Tour BUT I Gave It 3 Stars Cause When We Got To The Cenote It Was The BEST Part. The Taco Truck SOOOO EXPENSIVE To Be In Mexico! 3 Tacos No Drink Or Sides Was $15 USD! Once Again The Cenote Was Beautiful But I’d Say Skip This Excursion Because You’ll End Up Spending At Least $250 For 2 People When Alls Said & Done
Great, brief tour of Tulum ruins followed by refreshing swim in a nearby cenote. Lots of walking, so be sure to bring comfortable shoes and bring your own reusable cup for water. NO water bottles or food is allowed in the Tulum archeological site. Be prepared for an hour or more bus ride each way. Jackie was a great tour guide and Felipe was an excellent bus driver. It says “half day” but be prepared for a little longer. We got picked up at 845am from hotel and dropped back off at 4pm.
Worst experience I have had on any tour. They were not able to justify to a fellow traveller why they were demanding 750Mex additional to enter tulum ruins site (govt and ecological tax), despite already being included in the price the guide demanded we pay again for the archeological site. When we refused he started to take pictures of myself to send to his main office without permission. They also cancelled the tour half way through for those who hadn’t paid the full extra amount in cash despite us having valid tickets and being accepted onto the bus originally. Leaving us away from the pickup point with no solution on how to return and no option to travel to the cenote which we had already paid for. The guide Julian repeatedly was rude to myself and other travellers, acting in an infantile manner and pretending to be scared of us when we spoke. We then spoke to his manager Luiz with similar effect who pretended to intermittently not understand English. I wouldn’t recommend this tour whatsoever. It is run by an incredibly unprofessional and subversive travel agency- please don’t book with them!
Transportation there and back way too long longer than the actual Tour even though we were only 30 min away from Tulum. Picked up and waited for many other added on passengers and went opposite way to drop them off. Had to line up at Tulum for multiple wrist bands. No guide speaking on the bus and short explaining at Tulum. Two hours at the centre way too long. Full of Bat poop. Used Viator in Costa Rica and had a much better experience. Might be hesitant to use viator again
We had a great time on this tour. Julian was fantastic and everything ran very smoothly. The bus arrived right on time at the hotel and was comfortable. We had a great tour of the ruins and then moved onto the cenote. Lunch was yummy and the swim refreshing. The whole day was more like 8 hours not 6 but I have zero complaints.
Fun and enjoyable experience! Great for the price! Everyone should see this beautiful wonder. Our guides made it fun and humorous also!
Thoroughly enjoyed the views at Tulum. Jacqueline did a wonderful job sharing with us about the history of the ruins as well as the present day tourist industry. The Cenote was a lovely way to end the excursion and opportunity to cool down at the end of a very hot day. Much thanks to Jose and Jacqueline!
The views were beautiful and our guide, Julian, gave great customer service! He was very informative and made sure we stayed on schedule, at the same time, made sure we all had a great time.
This is such BS we were awake a 6:30am to make it to breakfast and to the lobby of hotel for 9:50 we were out a waiting at 8:20 half hour before pick up driver never showed I tried calling his number 5 times then call Viator and they could not reach him as his phone was turned off I requested a refund And was denied it cause said we were not a the lobby BS we were there waiting well before and well after pick up time so if I do not get a refund I will be going to my bank for fraud do not recommend 🤬🤬🤬
The ruins were nice and cenote was beautiful. However, the van was way too tight. They should remove a row of seats for comfort because depending on where you are coming from, the drive can be long! The Viator site should mention $25 USD additional cash is needed after ticket purchase. We were told via What’s App but we were not told to communicate on what’s app. The cenote had lots of bats in the cave but that is to be expected as well. Overall, I still enjoyed the trip and the tour guides.
The guide was excellent (Noah and Alex). Very welcoming and very informed. Felipe the driver was also very good. The centre swim is not to be missed
To avoid a major disappointment, this is an important read. Because I highly respect TripAdvisor and have paid for many excursions on their site, by far, this was the worst excursion ever. Although not complaining, we were supposed to get picked up at 8 a.m. for a 2 hour ride to Tulum. However, the pick up time changed to 7:30 a.m., and we arrived to Tulum 3 hours later. Our driver, who was brand new, got lost. He also didn’t speak to passengers the entire three hour ride. Two plus hours into the ride, a Spanish speaking passenger finally asked him to at least turn on some music. HERE COMES THE WORST PART: We arrived to Tulum at 11 a.m., and after being allowed a quick restroom break, our tour started at approximately 11:15 a.m. The company’s tour guide divided our group into two and told us to be back to the meeting point at noon. Sadly, the group that I was in was handed off to someone who works at the Tulum Mayan Ruins’ site. He told us he was doing the company a favor by walking us to the actual ruins site. It took 20-25 minutes walking to finally reach the ruins. The entire time, we had no tour guide hearing devices. Instead, the guide spent most of the time typing or texting on his phone. When we finally arrived to the ruins ‘site, it was approximately 11:40 a.m. Without providing any information about the ruins, the tour guide said he was leaving and told us to make two rights to get back to our meeting spot. Mind me, it’s now 11:45 a.m. and we haven’t toured the site and we have 15 minutes to make it back to the meeting spot which is a 20-25 minute walk. Sadly, the instructions the guide gave us were incorrect. He never told us to take a left. Therefore, when we finally made it back to the meeting spot, our group was not there. We then headed to where the bus was parked and we saw the bus pulling off without us, while our backpacks were still on the bus, which is where we were required to leave them. Following the bus was the company’s van that originally picked us up. We had to run as fast as we could and literally bang on the back of the van window before the bus pulled onto the main road. Sadly, other passengers weren’t so lucky and completely got left behind with their personal items still on the bus. The van then caught up with the bus which we followed to Cenote Swim Hole, where we stayed two full hours but had absolutely no time to tour the Mayan Ruins in Tulum, which we paid $25 USD to tour, and seeing the ruins was honestly the main reason we went on the excursion. Julio, the tour guide for half the group claimed that Mexico’s Prime Minister limits Tulum Mayan Ruin visits to 20 minutes because of the heat. I researched his comment and found it to be completely untrue. Even if it were true, their excursion advertisement should have indicated such. In summary, what could have been a beautiful excursion was completely a disaster. The company failed up big time! They actually need to refund us the $25 per person paid to tour the Tulum Mayan Ruins, which their own rushed schedule did not allow us to tour.
The tour was fantastic our guide for the Mayan ruins was so knowledgeable. then the Cenote was very unique and lots of fun.
It was amazing. Good service . Thank you for perfect time. Next time I will using this service. Good luck
Overall the tour was good , except for the 40 minute late pick up. Our guide Abbi ,said he texted me and showed me the text when he arrived , but I didn’t recieve it. (Bad cell service I suppose.) -Apparently there were multiple hotel pick ups and traffic. Nevertheless, once at the Tulum Mayan Ruins it was beautiful & hot. Tip- Definitely wear a hat to shield from the sun. Our onsite guide was very knowledgeable about Mayan culture. We recieved a great history lesson on ancient Mayan culture. After viewing the ruins we headed to The Cenote which we found to be very cool & refreshing . They have a small snack stand there that you can purchase burgers & tacos . After leaving the Cenote we headed back. I wish we would have had time to see some more sights on the way back and our tour guide had narrated things on the way to & fro. Nevertheless, we had a great driver Felipe who got us there & back safe and sound .
Hi, It was a great visit, but it was beyond hot and humid. I was with a group of girls and we could barely breathe. They wouldn't allow us to bring water with us. That wasn't right. One of the girls I thought would pass out from the heat, humidity and no water allowed. It was rough. The Cenote was great, the food, the cave, etc. The ruins were great, but hard to enjoy in that heat.
Our tour guide Mari was amazing! She's a knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. My husband and I were glad that we took a guided tour instead of going solo. The ruins were amazing and so was the scenary. The cenote they took us to was a beautiful private cenote and our tour had it all to ourselves. Definitely worth it.
We had an amazing time with Jerry at the ruins. He was very knowledgeable and gave in depth history during the time. The cenote felt super refreshing after a hot walk at the ruins and the tacos were amazing.
The people were polite. The ruins were interesting. The cenote was beautiful. BUT... The weather was awful. One van broke down. My husband got food poisoning from the burger at the cenote. What was advertised as a 6 hour trip took 11+ hours. We were shuffled as a large group with very little effort (or possibility) to personalize the experience. If the weather is good... then pack your own lunch and go for the all day adventure with lots of bus time. If you are prepared, then it will be good.
The tour was terrific! Very informative and yet very fun at the same time! I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about local history, combined with a relaxing swim in a beautiful cenote.
Great day a lot of walking at the ruins but we'll worth it the cave were great fun good tour guide Mary was very good and informative
Jacqueline was a very knowledgeable tour guide and funny! Only drawback was the the shuttle bus kept making an annoying beeping noise making it hard to relax after a wet day.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun and exciting. The ruins were amazing and the cenote was beautiful. The water felts so good.
This trip was great, I took my mum and we both enjoyed it equally for its amazing culture and views of the ocean
The tour does what it says but the 6 hours does not start until you get to Tulum and ends when you leave the cenote. If you are taking this from Cancun, add 4 hours and plan on a 10 hour day. Also , Tulum in June is VERY Hot, so plan accordingly. There is no time for gift shopping to buy souvenirs, only 10 minutes for bathroom and water that you are in desperate need of at the end. The ruins are interesting but it is so hot that it can be difficult to truly appreciate them. The Cenote was okay, not that impressive and the food (American hamburger & fries) were okay, nothing exceptional like the tour guide would have you believe. Mary our guide was very informative but we had hoped for a shorter excursion and will be sure to read more reviews next time.
Arrived at the pick up area early (oxxo) as instructed by tour operator Arturo of Cancun travel experience. Arturo did message me and said van shuttle was running a few mins late because of traffic. Waited another 45 mins. No shuttle. Other tour customers was also waiting over a hour because they arrived at 9am. I made my own way to the Mayan ruins eventually and called Arturo to tell him shuttle never came and I’m at Mayan ruins. He told me to reach out to tour guide Ruben. I called Ruben and messaged him. No answer no reply to my messages. I was still willing to do the tour even tho shuttle van never picked me up but I was abandoned. I decided to pay for parking and pay for entrance to the tour and did the whole tour myself. Terrible experience. I understand traffic delays happen but you have to communicate better with your customers on how long is the actual delay because standing in the hot sun waiting for a shuttle van is not fun, one of the customers fainted waiting for the very late shuttle because it was so humid. It’s only fair to give me a full refund for my terrible experience.
Great tour! Very beautiful and informative!! Tour guide was excellent! (Jaqueline). Very scenic! Thank you!
I would not recommend this trip it took 10 hours because we stopped 12 times to pick up other guests and the entire trip should’ve been 6 hours
Jacqueline and Vincent were great guides. The tour was very informative and fun. The cenote was beautiful and relaxing. I liked that we got some time at the nearby shops.
The pick was on time and the overall tour was as describe. Here are a few issues that I had with the tour. 1.) The tour guide might have a deal with restaurant he takes you to because the food deal that he pitch does not taste good. In fact, it was the worst taco I had in MX. 2.) When we got to the temple site, the tour guide talked for about 45 minutes (on 1 ruin temple), and only left 30 minutes for self exploration. 3.) The tour guide does not offer any umbrellas and choose to stand the whole group under direct sun the whole time even though there is near back shade spots. There was no reason to make adults and children stand under the direct sun light. 4.) No water was offer on the tour.
The tour was amazing. Very informative and interesting. The ruins and ocean were beautiful. Don't forget your hat because it was very sunny.
If you get Jerry as your tour guide consider yourself lucky. He is so knowledgeable, funny and actually cares about you as a group. The lunch is so good get it and I recommend the al pastor burrito and guac so good. Buy souvenirs near the tea restaurant they are so reasonably priced. The cenote is so amazing take some water shoes your feet will thank you. Honestly we learned so much about the Mayan culture on this tour. You will be out in the heat so wear sunscreen, hat, and take an eco friendly water bottle. If u forget your bottle buy the canned water just before you enter the temple you will need it.
Layla was an excellent guide. The tour was long as we came from Cancun and the drive to Tulum is ~2hrs, just be prepared for a long day and you'll have a wonderful time!
