Amazing experience! We had a small group that was a bit boring but the sites were incredible. Tulum was amazing to see and Coba was even cooler IMO. Definitely recommend renting a bike (only $5) because there is a ton to see. We only got an hour at each site which wasn't enough to see everything but it makes us want to come back. I would have sacrificed the shopping at the end for more time at the ruins. Shopping area was a little cool but a great way to be overcharged for everything if you don't know how to barter. The van we drove in was good. AC worked well. Bruch provided was okayish. I didn't eat half of mine and I don't think anybody else did either. Bring snacks. Lunch was good. We had the cenote to ourselves for a while and it's very neat. Lots of fish, a turtle, and yes, many bats in the cave that stayed to themselves. The rope swing is fun. I also jumped off the cliff edge into the water. If you go swimming bring a small towel unless you like getting dressed while wet. We climbed the pyramid! Very neat history! The guide was very nice and knowledgeable.

We have had lots of good experiences with Viator in the past, but this tour was disappointing. The guide provided very limited commentary and did not explain the itinerary at beginning or upcoming stops, said very few words throughout the entire trip. At each site, our group was combined with others, and the local guide spoke in multiple languages, with English consistently last and noticeably abbreviated. Local tour guide is a nice person but busy switching languages and providing very limited information. Although the tour was booked in English, it felt more like transportation between sites than a guided experience. The driver was professional and courteous, but the overall level of engagement, culture and historical context was minimal. In addition, we have to pay the guide additional “Tax” or “balance” , which the amount was not specified clearly in anywhere, but have to be paid in cash and no receipts. Ours was about 30% of the tour cost, not include tips. This was the poorest local tour we have experienced with Viator and is not recommended, unless you just want to have transportation.
Overpriced for what it was! The places are nice and totally worth visiting but with a serious travel agency. We were picked up on a van for the first part of the trip and dropped off on a bus stop in a busy highway for another pick up. We arrived to the Jaguar park very late. Our guide was super disorganized and the tour information was very confusing. Some people had their tickets booked and others had to purchase on the spot. The ‘deluxe’ package is a scam. There’s no unlimited snacks or drinks in the bus, they only give you a ridiculously tiny water bottle at the end of each trip and they give you a small ham and cheese sandwich. We had to constantly look for our guide on each place. We had the buffet at 4 pm and in the cenote there are not towels. I wouldn’t recommend booking with this agency. There are other serious and much more reliable agencies out there.
This tour is designed to explore amazing archaeological sites. At Tulum, be prepared to walk under a scorching sun and take a thrilling biking ride (the Mayan Uber) to see a few ruins in Coba. It's 100% worth the experience. Later, you will enjoy a lovely and refreshing swim in the Cénote.
I ended up not taking the trip. It's a two hour ride to Tulum, so a couple of days before I asked whether the bus had bathrooms. They said that they couldn't tell me whether there would be a bathroom until the morning of the trip. That morning they told me that our bus didn't have a bathroom so I had to cancel. However, that was past the cancellation time, and they wouldn't refund my money and Viator wouldn't either.
Great trip. Very good guide. Tulum ruins with lizards, Coba ruins only on bicycle 😊. Beautiful Cenote and good food. Highly recommend for everyone
This tour packs in so much awesome stuff! The views from the Tulum ruins are great and exploring Coba was incredible (Pro-tip: Get the bike taxi!). Our first time in a Cenote, the whole landscape was fantastic and the food was delicious and authentic. An A+ staff and full day!
This tour is such an amazing value! We looked at the other options, and this one offers so much more for the price. On top of that, our guide Isidro was fantastic and the transportation was super comfortable. A really enjoyable trip all around. Tourballoon Travel nailed it!
Although we had a slight delay getting ready, the driver kindly waited a few extra minutes for us. Despite the heat, the team kept us comfortable with cool drinks, A/C on the buys and Gatorade after the ruins walk. We had no doubt this was the right activity to choose. The entire experience was a charm. Highly recommended!
This is hands down the best way to explore the ancient cities of the Riviera Maya in one day. Tulum and Coba are both amazing in their own way and the cenote stop was a total highlight. The place looks straight out from an Instagram post. Our little one was so excited to see colorful fish swimming in the water. We ended the day a bit tired but super happy. Definitely worth it and highly recommended!
Get ready for an intense full day plenty of adventure. My recommendation: Don't go party the night before your departure. I liked this tip because you travel through the Riviera Maya visiting the most iconic Mayan places around, plus the Cenote, Food and Drinks. It's really worth it! Thank you Manuel for your guidance!
This tour had all we expected: Tulum, Coba, Cenote, Mayan Shaman, Food Buffet and Drinks! Plus, the experience was great! Our guide David was so friendly and funny! :) The day was hot, so be sure to dress comfy, but don't worry, you'll stay cool on the bus with the AC, drinks and a refreshing swim at cenote Kuxtal. It was so much fun!
This activity is packed with discoveries and culture! We were collected on time at the meeting point in Playa del Carmen. The agency is well organized, keeping in touch during pickup and ensuring everything runs as expected. The cenote and Coba were absolutely impressive! We had never seen anything like them. Overall, it was a great adventure! Thumbs up to Carlos and the entire Tourballoon team!
We decided to take a promotional package that includes, Las Coloradas and this tour, which we enjoyed very much because it has many amazing sites included (Tulum, Coba, Cenote, Restaurant and Playa del Carmen), besides from the food and drinks. It is true that the cenote waters are energetic. After our swimming and dive we felt real good, very relaxed. Totally recommend!
We joyfully celebrated our friend's birthday with this archaeological adventures! He is a history professor, so you can tell the hype! This "All-Inclusive package was a major plus, and we have nothing but praise for the agency's staff. Special thanks to Santiago, our outstanding tour guide, for making this trip unforgettable. If you're vacationing in Cancun, don't missout on thi sincredible experience!
This was sadly the worst tour I’ve ever been on. I booked it based on the good reviews and itinerary. The tour guides were unprofessional. It took hours to pick people up from hotels that did not show. The boxed food and fresh food provided were disgusting and offered only at 9AM and 4PM. The tour guides spoke mostly in Spanish which was unfortunate for me and my family member because we booked based on it being in English. It was ultimately a 15 hr experience and we waited an hour to enter Tulum after the bus dropped us off. Sadly this was an incredibly disappointing tour after I was looking forward to it and many other people on the tour bus ultimately agreed and discussed this on the bus home.
This day was so awesome! Visiting Tulum, Coba and the Cenote was amazing but the bike ride around Coba was the best part for me. Ask for Carlos when taking this tour, he's the best guide! He told us all kinds of interesting stuff while showing us the ruins. Everything was planner our really well, and I'd totally recommend this if you're into history and fun adventures!
As an Instagram influencer with thousands of followers, I always try to find the most photogenic or "Instagrammable" places possible on my trips. Tulum, Coba and the Cenote are amazing settings that have the most incredible spots to the the best shots. I came back home with a ton of pictures, I have work to do. Congrats and thanks: Carlos, Ximena and Gill. This tour is a hit, totally recommended!
It was a lovely journey to the Mayan side of the Riviera Maya. Definitely, Cancun is more than white sand beaches, hotels and night clubs. This is a side that everyone visiting this place must experience. Tulum and Coba are super interesting ancient sites. Santiago took the lead, and between jokes and history he transferred a lot of information to us. All of this, with food and drinks included, is worth every dollar spent! We'd have liked to have had more time in the Cenote.
I booked this tour for me a my girlfriend, we both are photography students. These collection of spots were awesome for the best shots. It's amazing how beautiful Tulum, Coba and the Cenote are. We enjoyed it a lot! Definitely a must-do tour! Hi five for Miguel, he is the best guide, ask for him when you take this tour!
Great tour package with food and drinks. Very professional and well organized staff. We had guiding us Lucy, she is the best. We are very interested in the Mayan Civilization and with the knowledge they passed on to us. I quick heads up, pay attention not to forget anything on the bus. We forgot a handmade doll and fortunately we were able to recover it. This tour is the best option, 100% proven. You shouldn't miss it!
We recommend to grab the complete archaeological package. We spent two family experiences full of fun and interesting culture and historic learning. Israel is definitely a genius. We were well attended during the whole trip and with a worriless, relaxed itinerary. All stops were on time and the only thing we paid was the rent of the life jackets and some tips, the rest was completely included.
We said good bye to Mexico with this extraordinary excursion. We are vegan, and we thought they were not going to have food available for us but, voila! We were pampered with a great selection of vegan food at the lunch. I'm giving five stars because we went to many other activities and they had regular food (which I don't blame) but, this detail gained my heart completely.
We move to Playa del Carmen and stayed near the beach. It was fun and interesting to book this great activity, all inclusive, reliable and well organized. Tulum and Coba sites were astonishing! The lunch time was right on time, we were starving. Be prepared for a day full of soft action. Very recommended!
It was a long but interesting day, and we experienced the most exciting places near Cancun. Our visit to Tulum, Coba and the cenote was perfectly guided, and we were attended to by the best, Miguel. We feel so lucky to have him tell and explain each detail during our trip. It's a long day of activity, but it is worth it. Ask for Miguel if you book this tour. (Thumbs up) Recommended!
This experience welcomed us at its best. We were staying in Cancun and booked this activity to finally discover the Mayan mysteries. It's curious since the Riviera Maya is not located in the Yucatan, which is something that our guide explained to us. So the route for this amazing tour to Tulum and Coba was through Quintane Ro. We walked through the jungle in Coba, visited a cenote for the first time, and explored Tulum ruins. The stop at Playa del Carmen was the perfect mix for us. Excellent attention and service; it is worth every penny. Recommended!
When coming to Cancun we never thought this was going to be a cultural-historical journey, but after checking deeply, there are so many interesting things in the Yucatan that time's not enough to visit them all. Tulum is a splendid place, far from the ruins, it is also the view and how Mayans dominate the seas from that point. Coba has this tallest pyramid from the Mexican Mayan cities. Bring some boots, sometimes it gets muddy. We enjoyed the Cenote, the food. 10 out of 10 for the excursion in short. Excellent organization and staf!
Get ready for an all-day tour, but it will be worth it in every way. We end up exhausted. This activity transports you to a movie adventure. It's too much information, so much to learn. Our respect and thanks to the Tourballoon Travel team, as they have very capable guides and provide first-class service. Tulum with its incredible panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea, Coba with its colossal pyramid, exquisite Mexican food and the cenote, what a great combination!
We visited the Riviera Maya on this awesome tour, which includes everything for a reasonable price. They are a pro team with years of experience; I asked our guide, Carlos, who is, by the way, a very charismatic guy. We were picked up early in the morning on time. The customer service agent Maru, was very attentive and assisted us until we were on the bus. That was so kind of her. They use comfortable new buses with an open bar with sodas, water and beer. The food was yummy; my wife and I repeated the "Taco de Cochenita". The facilities in the restaurant are clean and good-looking. The cenote was different in form from the other cenotes (four) we have visited before. This one has a platform, so you can enter by walking to the edge of the sinkhole. We had lots of fun! Tulum and Coba were the "cherry on the top." We felt so excited being there and learning about the Mayans. We were amazed that this civilization was so advanced in knowledge and technology. Later, I even bought a book about the Mayan History. I fell in love with such civilization. Overall, we strongly recommend Tourballoon Travel for this tour!
Since the first archaeological experience was kind of wet because of the weather, we decided to pick another great hit visiting Tulum, Coba and Cenote in the Riviera Maya. The weather was humid and the temperature not as high as the previous days. We learned that in this area of the Caribbean the weather predictions are not so accurate, so the best thing was to venture out and leave without thinking about it. This time we had the most radical photos and dry (not muddy) terrains. To be in the high ground in Tulum and watch the sea landscape was unique. We visited also Coba which is a funny adventure. You have to take bicycles or tricycles guided by local natives, they take you to the heart of the ruins through the jungle. There you can find the main pyramid which they say is the tallest of al in this region of Mexico. Unfortunately they no longer allow climbing on it. Even if was possible, I wouldn't have gotten on :) Food and drinks are OK, you have all you can drink on board and all you can eat at the restaurant. I really recommend this tour, it has a good quality and it is really affordable.
My wife is an archaeologist, we're from LA, so you can imagine how amazing this experiences were. We went to Egypt the last year, this time we came to Cancun to visit many amazing ancient places (Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba, Uxmal, Ek Balam) in two days! We took a lot of photos and experienced firsthand what was once a great city full of life and Mayan inhabitants, with all its commercial activity, politics and customs. This was our best experience by far in many time. We chose right by going with Tourballoon Travel. Excellent agency!
We love the historical tours. This time we went to visit Tulum and Coba plus a Cenote, prepare for a full-day adventure. This tour includes everything, maybe you should bring some extra money for tips, souvenirs and other optional purchases. Tulum is a unique place that join it all, sea, Mayan ruins, beautiful landscapes, it is just astonishing. We liked Coba too, it is more Indiana Jones style, with the bicycles, the jungle and what turn all this journey to life. Miguel, our tour guide. The Cenote was different with wood stairs and a platform, the roof is not open like others, great. Food and drinks are good, you can get refreshed between stops in the bus. Overall, if you want to spend a great day, don't miss this experience!
From the minute we stepped onto the tour bus, I knew a day full of wonders awaited us. Jorge and his crew were simply awesome, making us feel at home in a country we were visiting for the first time. My husband was fascinated with all the information about the science behind Mayan customs, and I couldn't believe how well our guides handled three languages. Spanish, English, and Mayan! At the traditional restaurant, the food was simply delicious. Despite the language barrier, the smiles and warmth of the local people made us feel welcome. There were no surprises with the costs, everything was included as they said. Definitely, the tour was a hit. We will choose them again. I recommend.
we were recommended the tours by Daniel mega nice guy speaking English . All he described was LIVE A thousand times prettier! look at yourselves par pictures say more than words!
If you have little time and would like to visit the surroundings of Cancun, I strongly suggest this package. The archaeological sites of Tulum and Cobá are worth a visit. We enjoyed visiting these places, especially Coba by bike. The stop for lunch was rather late in the day so plan a good lunch before leaving and bring drinks and snacks. The cenote was correct and not at all supervised, the buffet quite limited but the lemonade was delicious. The day ended with a short stop on Playa del Carmen 5. It is a very lively and touristic street. The festive atmosphere prevails there. However, if you want to buy holiday souvenirs, it is better to buy them at Mercado 28 in Cancun because they are very expensive in Playa Del Carmen. Thanks to Maru, the customer service, who answered my questions and made sure that our day was running smoothly. What we liked less: -We were supposed to be at the meeting point at 7:20 am, the bus arrived around 7:50 am and we arrived in Tulum around 10:45 am, after many stops at the different hotels. It was rush hour in Tulum so we lost a lot of time online to pay the tourist tax. I would have needed at least an additional hour at this location to be able to visit this site. – For Coba, the guide offered to pay the tourist tax directly on the bus to avoid the queue. However, it charged 320 pesos per person instead of the 120 pesos requested on the site. I decided to pay directly on the site, there was no queue. This saved me 800 pesos for the family. Again, we would have needed more time because it was impossible to climb the great temple in the hour allotted. I would have spent two more hours there. In general, it was a busy day. The whole family had fun. Last tips: bring a jacket for the bus because the air conditioning is powerful and a towel for the cenote because there are no one there.
Highly recommended... Excellent tour, very organized. We were a group of 22 people between children and adults, we all had a great time. We visited 5 places and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed this tour. If you are thinking of booking, do so without regret.
My family and I really enjoyed this tour. We visited Tulum, Coba that exceeded our expectations, they are two amazing places that made it clear how majestic the Mayans were. The hotel pick-up service is very punctual and the person is friendly and attentive. The tour guide told us about fascinating things and shared very interesting information with us. Totally recommended!!
