Mexican citizens in my tour were allowed to make nasty faces towards me and when brought up to the tour guy, he took their side instead of correcting the behavior

On going on the trip they told us there were charges outstanding. In good faith we paid, only to be told that the payment had failed. Payment was taken again, only for us to discover that they had taken both. A week later and they have not refunded us despite us asking repeatedly. Beware of this scam. If they make the refund then we will update this review
I do not recommend this tour at all. Organization was very poor. We left our hotel at 7:15 but only started the actual tour 3 hours later. Our tour guide, Valentin, spoke 2-3 words in English then a couple of sentences in Spanish. We could hardly understand what he meant. The whole tour was about waiting and trying to understand what he meant, what we could expect. We got back to the hotel at 9:30 pm, very tired. I gave two stars, because we actually saw Tulum and Coba, otherwise it would have been one star only.
Very attentive guide and driver. Thought it would be English but most people spoke Spanish. Not very informative. Too long a day.
Beware of outrageous composary fees that they made you pay on the spot which is almost doubled the fee you paid when booking the tour. When I told them that I'd need to contact viator about the tour, they threatened to kick me off in the middle of nowhere and that I'd need to find my own way back.
Total SCAM. please DO NOT BOOK with this company. It’s a RIP OFF. Hidden fees and I paid $312 for 3 which others paid half for 3. After departing at 7am no lunch until 4:15pm. Waited for 90min without tickets to Tulum site. He never got tickets ahead. They purposely delayed lunch so we buy something at their affiliated restaurant and shopping store. Small Muffin costed $6 (USD). We were forced to taste a crappy , unhygienically served ice cream to use the restroom. So TASTE ICE CREAM OR PEE IN YOUR PANTS. They did not allow people to use RESTROOMS until we tasted the ice cream and returned the disposable spoons to them. No clue why they do with it. Perhaps reuse them. Returned back to hotel by 11pm when all restaurants closed. They stopped another affiliated place for dinner which I did not buy. Please DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY
The Tulum tour was great. We had a very knowledgeable and friendly English-speaking tour guide (not the one who came with us on the bus). He explained the history and culture very well, which made the visit enjoyable and informative. However, at Coba, the experience was disappointing. The guide who came with us on the bus did not join us for the site tour. Instead, he let us explore on our own, either by walking or cycling. I would have preferred to have a guide explaining the fascinating Mayan history, as I noticed other groups did have this. Lunch was good – nice food and a pleasant break in between the tours. Unfortunately, the tour did not include Playa del Carmen as advertised, which was quite disappointing and misleading. Advice to the tour organizers: please ensure that when guests request an English-speaking guide, they are provided with someone who can speak fluently and accompany the group throughout the entire tour, not just part of it. Overall, parts of the tour were excellent (especially Tulum), but there’s definitely room for improvement in organization and communication.
This tour was great. Our tour guide Hector was great, very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole trip fun in English and español. Loved the whole day, even the underground cenote.
H I D D E N ~ FEES!!! Make sure you bring your wallet! This tour is all up charges and lies. In every single stop and location is a charge up not included in the tour!! the price is so cheap to lure you in, and details are sent 24hr before to not be able to cancel and get refund in time!
The tour was okay. Pick up was around 7am, the expected pickup time was given a day before only roughly between 6.35-6.45am for me. They picked us from then did check in at Mexican outlet plaza la fiesta. 960 pesos was addition fee to pay for the tickets and conservation fee. The lady charged me 1008 pesos for some reason, no explanation or whatsoever. We spent more time at coba, could’ve been shorter after the tricycle ride. Cenote was so nice and lunch buffet was nice too. You have to pay extra for drinks. Playa del carmen was only 45mins so not enough time to see much. The return journey I’ve been transferred to 3 different transport for me only to get to Costa Mujeres. I accidentally forgot my tripod on the van. The company was unhelpful saying the item is prohibited and most likely lost now :( it was a mixed experience for me.
They would not let me cancel and stuck me in Spanish speaking tour! Thankfully I met another traveller who was willing to translate. They did not set the end time properly and we were running late by more than an 1hr. They seem to care only for the folks who took the all inclusive option
This was a very informative tour on the Mayan culture. We enjoyed seeing the ruins and learning about their culture and traditions. The cart ride to the ruin through the jungle was pretty. The Mayan welcome ceremony was interesting. The cenote was very refreshing. We loved that they allowed jumping and had a swing and rope to play on. We could not believe that not a sip of water was offered to us on the tour. It was so hot and we ran out of water quickly. They had a cooler that could have easily taken care of the 9 of us in the van. Most tours take care of their ppl by making sure they're comfortable, such as offering a drink or umbrella for the sun. They don't pick you up at the lobby of the hotel. We had to get a ride to the guard station which was fine, but then we waited there in the sun for 20 minutes, not ideal. In Coba they tell you that you can walk to the ruins or rent a cart (man pushing you on a bike) or your own bike. You don't really have the choice to walk because if we had walked, we would've run out of time and wouldn't have heard any of the info about the ruins. So be prepared to pay $11 usd for 2 people to ride and they only take cash. The buffet was very small and not good. The beans and potatoes were flavorless. No fruit, very few options for picky eaters and vegetarians. They don't include any drinks here either, not even water. For some reason we assumed that meant alcoholic drinks weren't included but assumed water would be. So if you're doing this tour, bring lots of water and not in plastic bottles, Tulum doesn't allow plastic. Be prepared to spend $ for a ride at Coba.
I've been in plenty of tours ranging from Capri, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, London, etc and honestly this one was pretty good for the price, the length, the driver Jose was good, the student (Mafar), and the tour guide (Lalo) was good. Especially after it rained all day with us.
Great guys, great guide, thanks Hector and lovely company. We certainly covered a lot! Loved learning more about the Mayans and being blessed by a Shaman!
A very comprehensive trip that acts as an Intro to History of this region. No doubt that Mayan civilization was great but some of the claims made by the guide (a really nice guy) was not scientifically or historically accurate. Wish we could have spent more time at Tulum. The final cenote dip was refreshing - wishing it was more than 45 minutes.
This is a great tour and educational, the tour guide and driver are nice & friendly, offering great service much more than we expected. We also learn a lots from Maya culture.
Worst experience ever, made us change 3 buses even before leaving the city. Had to wait for 5 hours before actually seeing the first attraction. We had to stand outside tuluk attraction for 40 mins because the tickets were not bought in advance.Sold things onboard which were unneccesary. Skipped 1 attraction as it was already so late but we paid for the ticket already. The last attraction was all in rush, they allowed us to stay at playa de carmen for only 30 mins, a place which will require minimum of 1 hour. The bus was moving so slow that there was not even a single car that didn't overtake the bus.
Very rushed and confusing. Guide rushed in front of everyone and left many people confused where to go. Tulum was the worst. The places it self were nice to see but next time we would do one at a time.
I emailed this company in a timely manner to request pickup time and location. Noone responded to me nor did they respond in a timely manner to our travel agency. They are also reluctant to give us a refund and stated that we did not show up. What reputable tour company does not provide the necessary details to its patrons when requested? What courteous company does not reach out via email or telephone if they are not seeing their patrons? They only responded at 2pm for a tour that was supposed to take place at 7am that same morning. A response was only received from them when a refund was demanded. I would not recommend anyone to use these services.
We were charged double for tickets to Tulum once we got there. Our guide said it was not their fault and we had tot take it up with “the company”. He was not helpful and gave us the ultimatum to either go back to the bus (after having traveled hours) and wait or pay for the ticket and tax (after having paid the tax before getting on the bus). The line to get our ticket was over an hour and we ran through Tulum in a few minutes with no time to look around. The food was barely edible and they try coerce “a lucky 4 people” into buying extremely overpriced souvenirs $350+ USD - you can get those elsewhere like Chichén Itzá for less than $5 USD. The cenote was an amazing experience and we were able to relax in there and unwind from all the running around. The tour guides did seem to know what he was talking about and gave great information about Tulum and Coba but the tour was way too rushed and seemed very unorganized.
ABSOLUTELY the worst! There was no communication by Kbron, the numbers on their website were not working and despite multiple emails, my travelling party of 3 were left waiting. I requested a full refund via Expedia so I await and will be back to update.
Warning! If you are looking for a tour that will pick you up at a hotel, please know that this tour DOES NOT DO THIS. I booked this tour because their website assured that hotel pick up was available. In fact, when I registered they even asked for my hotel address. However, the night before I was told the meeting place was in supermercado parking lot 8 miles away. I then had to find a taxi ride to and from the meeting spot after the booking showed hotel pick up. For me this was very dishonest and was a "bait and switch" maneuver. Very dishonest.
Pros: nothing !!!! All listed activities seemed really good way to see 2 ruins. But tour didn’t happen — for us. Cons: poor communication with tour company- KBron - awful local company. I messaged them several times that we will be waiting in our hotel lobby for pickup. After waiting 45 min in the lobby; the company texted and said the bus left as we weren’t by the security gate ! Not once were we told to wait by hotel security gate— which is a long walk down from lobby. All other tour companies were coming up to the lobby and calling out names. Company said bus left and we can reschedule. We were flying back home the next day, so that wasn’t an option nor would I rebook as they left us waiting in the lobby. No text or call was made on their attempt - asking where we were. Unreliable tour company. I texted them back several times after saying they left already— still no reply from them ! Luckily- viator gave me full refund. We ended up taking a taxi to Coba and Tulum ruins. We didn’t do cenote though- but that’s OK.
Despite it being a very very long day, I will say the tour guides and driver were phenomenal. Highly recommend this tour as an intro to the area and history.
Seeing the ruins was as expected but the day was very long. Swimming at Cenote is a bit seedy. Need to bring pesos to tip. Using US dollars is much more expensive due to bad exchange rate given.
Dont book this tour, you will regret. 1. They gave me 1 hour and 10 mins pick up frame, so I have to wait for the pick up from 6:45 am to 7:55. 2. Pick up happened at 7:15 to the meeting point. We actually depart at 9:30am. 3. This is a huge group, around 60 ppl. One big bus and a van. 4. It took 1 hour from Tulum site parking lot to the entrance. Cause we need to wait for everyone to enter the site. That cause tour in the Tulum has to be shorted. 5. English guide was terrible, if I don't walk with tour guide side by side I won't be hear antything, cause he was only talking to himself. 6. Endless waiting for others. That;s pretty much all for the tour. Waiting, waiting and waiting.
The Cenote and Tulum stops were the best. There was too little time at Playa Del Carmen (45 minutes at 8:30pm) and too much time at Coba. It was as if they were deliberately delaying us at Coba--maybe the lunch wasn't ready or there was another group there? We did not have lunch until 3:15. We were picked up at 7:15. A lot of time was wasted between 7:15-8:30 while we paid the conservation fee. This could have been collected in a number of different ways. We did not have to go to a souvenir store for 1.5 hours at 7:15am. I would have rated the tour as being excellent if we had gone to lunch or the cenote after Tulum but taking us to Coba for 2 hours killed everything. The lunch itself was good but the venue that they called a 'restaurant' was not well maintained. There was no soap in the bathroom and no toilet seats. There were stray dogs running around. Drinks were not included in the lunch. They charged us $5 for a can of diet pepsi. They also charged us $4 to rent a life vest at the Cenote. Prices are lower if you bring pesos. You should also bring bug spray because Coba, Cenote and lunch are in the jungle. They sell a small bottle of bug spray on the bus for $12.
It was an amazing trip, they keep you safe and very kind staff. I would definitely recommend you to go.
our tour was canceled due to hurricane Beryl and I have not heard from tour operator about a refund yry
The tour included a lot of authentic activities, which was great. However, it serves more like transportation to each location as the only tour we had was at the Tulum ruins. We didn’t go to Playa del Carmen as advertised. I did like the authentic lunch, but you do have to pay for beverages and they are higher than normal. It is also required to have a life jacket at the cenote which is also an additional expense, along with transportation at Cobá (can rent a bicycle or have a tricycle driver) because you’re note given a lot of time there and it’s a distance between the ruins. Our tricycle rider was great and taught us the Mayan language but others did have the same kind of experience. Overall recommend this tour, just bring extra cash and be prepared for additional expenses throughout.
I paid for this trip via VIATOR months in advance. My printed ticket said pick-up from 7 a.m. I waited from 6.45 until 7.55 a.m. The coach did not arrive, so I went off and did something else instead. Later, I got a message from the tour company, saying that pick-up would be between 8.20 and 8.35 a.m. So, I lost my money, but this is fairly typical of tourist services in Mexico. NO STARS.
Horrible experience staff didn’t speak english no air conditioning as they mentioned. Donot take plastic water bottles and please take water they charge 350 pesos for small one. Nobody gave us a tour as the person cant speak english. They contacted us poorly meeting point was very dangerous supposed to be hotel entrance bu they illegally and dangerously made us cross roads. The buffet didnt have water service😂 you have food but no water. U pay for water all the time She never gave a tour. Rushed everything Tour was 11-13 hr but we came back in 6 hours. Dont go here please
I learned how much the “Diamond” package cost (on top of the “Classic” package that we paid on aviator) and what included in the package. Unfortunately I learned almost nothing about Tulum or Coba. The schedule was also not the best. We had lunch at 4 pm. I was hoping that we could have given more details during the booking so we can better prepare for very late lunch. I understand that the tour operator could not control the traffic but I think lunch at 4 pm was not due to the bad traffic. Prepare for a very very long day.
Fernanda was a great tour guide who did her best to explain in English. She was friendly and made everyone feel included. She was accompanied by a great driver whose name I sadly forgot. Tulum is beautiful. You’ll have time to walk around and take pictures. You can walk around Cobe without the need of a bicycle if you’re in good condition. The cenote swim was amazing. They have a swing, rope to climb so you can flex and a place you can jump from. Food was good with limited selection due to the climate/environment. No condiments. Make sure you bring cash for drinks, life vests and tips. Don’t forget to tip. Bring your own water. Hydration is key. They’ll take you to Playa del Carmen 5th Ave shopping experience but who’s in Cancun for that. Make sure to spend your money where it directly impacts the local community and not Gucci or LV. I hope this review is of use to you. Safe travels.
The first problem was that we could not get the local tour company (Kbron) to confirm a pickup time until the evening before. While the pickup was on time, we drove north to meet the Cancun contingent and then had to backtrack. The stops at the Tulum and Coba ruins were less than hour - impossible to take in. Commentary (mostly in Spanish) was provided only at the beginning of the Tulum tour and not at all at Coba. Lunch was supposed to be 40 min but the long queu cut this to 20 min. Cenote was fine for a dip. Don't fall for the optional USD 25 'diamond' upgrade unless you plan to drink a lot of beer. If you go, bring a wide hat, shoes, water in a container (not clear plastic). Not recommended.
I canceled my trip more than 24 hours ahead and according to Viator they never got the cancellation from me for that reason they refused to credit my account. Now I realize that the day I tried to cancel somewhere on their side they blocked me so I wouldn’t be able to cancel properly I remember to see one sección that had the word cancel but also had another word before that I couldn’t understand any way I hit cancel and it seems that everything was canceled but of course it wasn’t and and I was careless not to make sure that they had to send me a confirmation. I just trust them. Now I know that they do whatever not to lost the business. I will never give them my business next time;if someone is reading this be careful with them.
The sights were beautiful! The bus tour was not so great! The guide was nice and informative but we wasted so much time picking people up before we made it to our first event of the day. If you are interested in seeing this sights it would be easier to get a taxi to Tulum. If anything that is where the bus should pick people up. That was probably the worst part of this experience. The sights were awesome! Coba was amazing but we only had an hour of time visit, which sucked. Could easily spend a full day there. I wondered if out time was shorted due to all the delays in picking people up in the morning. We were the second group to be picked up and it was almost two hours before we started moving towards the first destination. Either way it was fun to see the sights but this service needs to get everyone at a central location rather than just picking people up in a giant tour bus all over the place.
The company used was kbron travel. Kbron travel was very hard to get a hold of. They don't contact you with a pick up time or location until the night before. They will also not respond to any emails through their personal website or through Viator. I had to search them up on Facebook and message them on there. They were responsive with messenger. They also have a problem with communication. The night before we were given a meeting spot and time for the pick up the next day. The day of the tour, they did not show up. We were on time to the pick up spot and waited over an hour. I was finally able to reach them via messenger and they said we were "no shows. They refused to cover our taxi to meet the tour guide in Tulum which costed me 70 dollars. Total rip off. After waiting another amount of time at the ruins, trying to find internet to communicate with the guide, we discover that the guide and driver were told a different location for pick up and drove right by us. The company did not try and reach out or call (when they had my number and had clearly communicated with me on Facebook the day before) about our location. Instead they called us no shows and forced our hand to get a taxi or forfeit the money for the tour. I have reached out to kbron travel on messenger to let them know of their error but they have yet to respond. The guides for the tour itself were great. This is not a review on them. The tour itself was ok. The cenote and restaurant for eating were not great, the Tulum ruins was very quick but nice to see, and the coba ruins were ok. There was little to no explanation about the structures in coba. The bus was comfortable. Altogether this tour is overpriced.
It seems like we were on the same tour with people who have already expressed their terrible experience with this tour. The tour was poorly organized and planned. The only thing that the guide talked about was the drinks package and the rules of being on time when the entire tour was running 2 hours behind because he didn't have enough bands for entrance to Tulum. The people who had bands waited for an hour and half without knowing what the cause of the delay was. We found out from fellow tourists later that Jorge (our tour guide) did not have enough bands so he took half of the group that did not have bands to wait in line to buy bands in small groups. Then, he had to take Mexican citizens to another line for something else while the rest of the group waiting in the hot sun guessing again. There was zero communication about anything or even an explanation or apology. If I had to google Tulum ruins, I would have and not have booked a guided tour. The tour was supposed to be English and Jorge kept switching between English and Spanish every other sentence making it harder to keep up. Mind you, he wasn't talking about the history at all, just instructions on how to find the bus and what time to be back. Once we made it to the entrance, he said bye, see you in an hour leaving us wondering if a guided tour was what we bought or missed reading fine print somewhere. He told us he would talk about the history of Tulum and no one heard a word. He was eager to walk up and down the bus collecting payments tax and prepaid drink packages which were not even cold because they forgot to put ice in the cooler. Lunch was supposed to be at 12:30 and we arrived at our lunch spot at 4:00 pm. We finally get to Playa Del Carmen at 9 PM and everyone was so exhausted from all the waiting in the hot sun that no one wanted to get off the bus. I would not recommend this tour to anyone. I requested a partial refund for this tour but the tour operator (kbron) denied claiming it was a 10 minute delay. Three people wouldn't be writing bad reviews about the same horrible experience if it was only a 10 minute delay.
Guide is not good at planning the trip. Spent lot of time in heat while we waited for half of people got the bands. No cool water provided after returning from Tulum ruins. Lunch was at 4:45. With kids it became hassle. Left resort at 8 am and returned back at 10 pm. Only good thing is bus is good and amenities in bus are clean. No details provided about the Coba temples or Tulum ruins. Better go with diff guide.
This was an extremely disorganized tour. The tour guide Jorge didn't have enough wristbands for entry for half of us for tulum when we got there, so we waited for 20 minutes so he could go in line and buy more wristbands. He still couldn't buy enough for everyone because the ticket people apparently wouldnt let him buy so many so he had us all get in line and Jorge had my BIL take his credit card and buy 10 more so we could all have wristbands. This took another 30 minutes. Also, keep in mind that we didnt know what was happening until later in the day. He wouldnt explain WHY we were in line and why we had to wait so much. We finally got to enter Tulum after this, but then Jorge told us he would meet us back at the bus in an hour and that he would then tell us all about Tulum on the bus after we free roamed the ruins. We expected that this would be a guided tour and that is not what we got. When we got back to the bus Jorge did not end up telling us anything about Tulum. We didn't end up eating until 5:30 when we were expecting to have already eaten lunch. We didnt get to Playa Del Carmen until 8pm and everyone was so fed up and tired on the bus at this point with how the day went. Also, jorge barely communicated with us about where we were going and what the plan was, especially when things didnt go as planned or we had to wait so much. This was the worst tour we have been on and we have been on many over the last few years since we come to Cancun a lot. This was a huge disappointment.
I booked 1/1/24 tour and was charged for it and received confirmation the day before. But I also received the tour operator's email on Dec 30 that said the tour on 1/1/24 was cancelled due to operation issue. I responded and rescheduled to 1/2/24. Email was not replied until one day later but I was glad that we received the confirmation. The tour was well organized. Some had to leave our bus to go to another tour. We were combined with another tour at Tulum. But overall it was very nice. Glad to have a taste of Tulum, Coba, lunch buffet at 3:45 pm, and Playa del Carmen. All quick stops but nice.
Definitely a bargain for the price in terms of what we got to see and the transportation from my stay. I would say it would've been better if we had a little more time and coordinated tours of the Tulum ruins and Coba, but still was pretty good. Some folk wanted more time in Playa del Carmen for shopping, but the time there was fine. I definitely liked the Cenote the best and I got to do a couple of dives in it and someone captured a really nice shot mid-dive! The most important thing was I was able to use PayPal. Otherwise, my stay would've been a complete bust due to the issues that arise with my credit card after I landed in the Riviera Maya area.
Not the best customer service. The driver was an excellent driver although it was super windy & pouring rain we arrived safely at the hotel. Also we lost a lot of time for the tour because too many transfers. One stop we lost 45 minutes waiting for the other bus to arrive so some passengers can transfer to go to a different tour. I come here every year. But will try other servicer.
Very long day for very short periods at the destinations. The fact that you have to buy a wristband in order to get water on the bus was a little disconcerting it’s very hot in Mexico and every other tour I’ve been on over the last 13/14 years water has been provided it wasn’t necessary to include beer and pop in this wristband rather charge for those items and free water would’ve been better idea
Tulum ruins were very interesting. Tour Guide couldn't speak useful English. Ruins guide was better - at least he could speak some English.
I booked this tour and after, I noticed that many of the reviews were quite negative. I was very apprehensive, however, our experience was very positive. We were quoted a pick up time of 9:40am to 10am. They arrived at 9:58am. Jamie, our tour guide was very comical, passionate in teaching about the Mayan culture, and engaged with the tourists in our group. The only thing I would change is having maybe 30 min more time in Coba and 30 min less time at the Mayan village/Cenote. All in all, 9/10 for this trip and highly recommend.
The tour guide (Galo y Tabata) people they are rude and careless. He was smoking inside the bus. A young lady for Argentina feel sick and they didn’t help her and trying to leave her behind and we told them “no we will wait for her, his response was no she will stay here take care your self and forget about everybody else” and between them, Galo y Tabata said [those two women wants to play heroes ].
This tour was awesome! Tour guides were kind and informative. The only reason I’m giving a 3 star is that we waited about an hour after meeting time was told. I reached out to the number provided 4 times and no answer. Also, emailed and no response. Luckily, there was another group waiting on the tour as well that booked through another site where the tour guides responded to them saying they were stuck in traffic. My recommendation is to go with patience in the beginning there is a lot of traffic and construction.
Trip was too long, and the stays to each place were very short. It would have been better if they cover only 2 location and we can stay there for At least 2-3 hour rather than doing everything in rush.apart from this,I was picked first and dropped last it was very inconvenient for us than people coming late and leaving early
