Tulum, Cenote And Playa Del Carmen From Cancun

Wow! What a wonderful trip with Ekinox Tours. Carlos Moo was our guide for a family of 6 covering Tulum, local cenotes, and Playa del Carmen. The coach bus was well air-conditioned, comfortable, and super clean. Both our guide and driver were remarkably personable, fun, and extremely knowledgeable—sharing fantastic historical insights and fun facts throughout the day. We were the only family on board with kids (4 in fact!), and Carlos made sure they were completely engaged and entertained. They absolutely loved the experience and are already looking forward to coming back next October. All three stops were unique, varied, and well-paced. While I booked directly through our hotel this time, I will definitely book directly with Ekinox Tours in the future. I highly recommend Carlos Moo without hesitation—you will not be disappointed!

Highly recommend this tour. Tulum on its own is well worth the visit, but the cenotes (and hospitality of the locals) was magnificant. We were very well fed at lunch and had plenty of time to explore on our own. One of the most enjoyable days of our holiday.

It was a very good experience especially with my mom’s first time in Mexico. Carlos Moo was very knowledgeable and took care of everything from meet-up location, things to do and places to eat. We would love to have him again as a tour guide when we come back.

Amazing experience, the ruins at Tulum are gorgeous, swimming at the cenotes was incredible, and there is a full buffet of Mexican food. The guide Freddy and the driver Charlie were both excellent. Freddy was very fun, engaging and knowledgeable. As with many tours in Cancun, there is a $40USD / $700MXN additional fee to cover tourist taxes and admission fees

Carlos Moo was our tour guide and he was incredible. He presented a deep and rich picture of the Mayan culture which provided a powerful framing for our visit to Tulum, or Tul-uum as Carlos would say it. He also conveyed his personal experience to us with pictures and storytelling. He even spoke with a blend of Spanish and English to ensure that no detail of what he said was missed. The tours were extremely organized and Carlos explained everything to us so that appropriate expectations were set for timing, and for how local vendors might react to our presence. Tulum is hard to explain. Go see it. It is nothing short of spectacular. As for price, everything was included and provided by our travel guide, Nexus, and the tour company Ekinox. At 150 USD per person, you couldn’t ask for a better price. We had intimate opportunities to connect with local Mayans at Chen Ha, tasted fresh cacao, tequila, and local cuisine that was prepared fresh - it has exquisite flavour. Most importantly, we had time to swim in Chen Ha and the other cenote as well. Highly recommend this experience. Their gift shop was beautiful and the quality of the stone artifacts is hard to articulate. Finally, we capped off with free time in Playa Del Carmen. We had our chance to buy from local vendors, dine at Restaurants, swim at the public beach, or find entertainment like music on 5th street. The tour concluded early too. From sun-up to sundown, taking a tour with Carlos Moo from Ekinox will easily be the highlight of your time in the Mayan Riviera. You will leave with a deeper understanding of Mayan culture and most importantly, create memories that you won’t soon forget. 5 stars.

Carlos is an amazing story teller. We really enjoyed our tour with him and our driver Que Que. Carlos is a very personable, knowledgeable, and fun guide. The food on this tour was the best we had amongst all the tours we took during our trip in Cancun and the group size was perfect.

I’m only writing this review because I loved our guide Carlos Moo. He was the best of my all the tours that I have been so far in Cancun. He was interactive, very respectful, friendly and helpful.

Luis Estrella our tour guide was wonderful! It’s a full day, be ready! Several stretches of long drives, one at the beginning and a more broken up one at the end, the driver was very good so we felt at ease. Lots of walking in Tulum, wear good shoes! Bring dry clothes to avoid a long ride being wet & cold!

It was an amazing experience. Seeing the ruins and swimming in the cenote. Finally getting to do some local shopping at the end of the day. The tour guides-Estrella, moo, and Jesus made the tour even better with their knowledge and demeanor. They were always upbeat and welcoming, like family. Great tour guides!

We had an amazing tour in Tulum today! Everything was very well organized, and we had such a great experience from start to finish. Our driver, Jesus, was very friendly, professional, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the day. Our tour guides, Moo and Estrella, were absolutely fantastic! They were knowledgeable, welcoming, and made the tour really interesting and fun. They explained everything clearly and were happy to answer all of our questions. Jesus was a great driver, Estrella and Moo were fun, knowledgeable and helpful. The ruins were okay, not worth the money in my opinion. The cenotes, lunch and shopping were very fun! Transportation seemed a bit complicated moving busses.

Our tour guide Mauricio and driver Luis were super nice. Mauricio was super friendly and gave the tours in great detail and was even nice about waiting for us when we were a little late. The visit to the ruins in Tulum was very interesting and the perfect amount of time. The cenotes were beautiful but one was very deep so beware non-swimmers. The stop at Playa de Carmen was also really fun. The only downside was the food served as it was decent at best.

It was an unreal bang for your buck, helped along by the fact that our tour guide Carlos Moo was such a positive and enthusiastic presence in a way that only added to the experience and cultural significance of the tour. The ruins were beautiful, the cenotes were breathtaking and Carlos’ guidance throughout was on point, educational and entertaining.

Carlos Moo was an excellent guide and provided enough information for us to appreciate Tulum and the Cenotes history and culture. The transport and refreshments provided kept us going given the hot and sunny conditions. Highly recommend this tour for children and adults a like.

Such a great tour. Our guide kept us ahead of the crowds during the entire tour. We had the cenotes to ourselves and didn’t realize there were crowds at the ruins until we left. Beautiful place, highly reccomend this tour. We took full advantage of the time we had at the cenotes for a 6 hour tour.

This excursion was the best part of our Birthday trip! Far above the all inclusive resort! Far above the great food! Far above the other excursions we went on. They made us feel safe, very informative about the culture. And best of all treated us Americans with respect. Which was not expected. Thank you for a lifetime memory.

This tour from Cancun to Tulum, the cenotes, and Playa del Carmen was the highlight of our trip! Everything was seamless, well-paced, and absolutely beautiful. A huge shoutout to our incredible guides—Kico, Moo, and Estrella! Kico was so knowledgeable and brought the history of the Tulum ruins to life with amazing stories. Moo kept the energy high, made sure everyone was comfortable, and gave the best local tips. Estrella was super attentive, friendly, and made sure the whole group was safe and having a blast—a true star! Swimming in the cenote was breathtaking, and having time to stroll through Playa del Carmen was the perfect end to the day. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cancun!

The tour was amazing. The guides, driver all of them took such good care of us. They gave us instructions to stay safe. They walked with us and made sure we got the whole experience. Moo, Estrella and Keko made the whole trip! Good food, good timing. Overall 10/10 recommend.

Driver Javier and guide Freddy were great. Freddy was very knowledgeable about Mayan history and gave a lot of great information while touring the Tulum ruins. Swimming in the cenotes was very refreshing.

Señores Moo, Navor, and Estrella gave a fabulous tour. The $40 cash visit tax was collected right at the start at pick-up and then everything else was taken care of (other than tips). The bus was comfortable and sitting toward the front is good for getting all the fun info. Tulum archeological site is very hot during the summer so thermos water bottles are best and any disposable plastic is not allowed inside. There were plenty of lockers at the cenote/lunch spot and they’re easy to use. The line for the buffet may slow you down getting to the cenotes, but all the food was great and lots of the tacos are worth trying. Crowds were never too crazy to handle, plenty of space swimming and walking around. We booked as a group of 7 adult friends and I would highly recommend for young adults. They also had good recommendations for where to check-out in Playa del Carmen.
