Sunrise Kayak Tour In Cancun

The Sunrise tour was fantastic. Our guide, Andres, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw many birds and the mangroves were beautiful. Since it was early, we did not see any other people in the forest during our tour which made it especially nice. We had four in our group and there was only one other couple on the tour with us.

This is a can’t miss experience for anyone who wants to get away from the noise of Cancun and immerse themselves in a serene nature experience. Andres is a wonderful guide who is clearly devoted to the preservation of Cancun’s mangrove eco-system. Saw many beautiful birds, fish, and multiple stingrays! Worth the early wake up!

If you are in Cancun and have not visited a mangrove before and would like to get in some calm relaxing exercise with a little adventure, this is for you. The mangroves are pristine, the water is clear and the whole experience is very calming as you paddle through the mangrove channels and explore the mangrove tree canopy overhead. I am sorry that I did not take my diving/snorkelling mask with me as there is also opportunity to snorkel during rest stops. The water is about 2-3 m deep at most and crystal clear so you will see fish and rays, apart from the birds in the trees. Although I am an experienced kayaker I still enjoyed the trip because our group was less than 10 and our 2 guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. So even if you have not kayaked before, you will easily manage. This excursion is a great addition to doing some scuba/ snorkeling, swimming in the cenotes and visiting the Mayan pyramids

This was incredible. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and passionate, I can’t say enough good things. It’s right in the hotel zone and you can walk or take the bus there, but you get to visit the incredible mangroves and step away from the hustle of vacation and see what’s right there all around. Puts a different perspective on the tourism industry. Would highly recommend you take the time.

A real adventure in nature. Kayaking through an immense mangrove field. It was an absolutely authentic exploration, and very unique for me who has spent many vacations in ans around the the Rivera Maya exploring the nature here. Highly recommended. I write this in January 2025 but I did the kayaking February 2024.

Absolutely wonderful. I took the morning tour. Slowly cruising through the a narrow mangrove passage is quite wonderful. I saw a resting crocodile, there are starfish in one areas, marine sponges in another. We saw birds, Little blue heron, Great blue heron, Tiger heron, Egret, an Anhinga, Andrés, our excellent guide and bird identifier, showed us examples of red black and white mangrove. The whole trip lasted two hours or more. Paddling back to base against the wind was difficult but doable. When we were on the main channel some larger boats went by throwing up waves, but you just turn to face into them and they are not a problem. But in general, it was a spectacular, high value, close to big nature experience with lots to see. I highly recommend it to any nature lover.

Wonderful experience! We ended up starting early at 6 AM in order to catch the sunrise. The guide took wonderful photos and sent us some. The tour is a ton of fun and great value for money! highly recommend to anyone visiting Cancun!

This trip was a highlight of our honeymoon - waking up early was absolutely worth it. Andrés was incredibly knowledgeable & so passionate about the environment and wildlife that it was inspiring to be around. Being out on the open water was so peaceful and we were able to experience a ton of marine life (like a giant stingray right under our boat and listening to a tiger heron). This is the real thing, focused on what Cancún really has to offer, and was not touristy or packed with people. We had such a fun time learning from Andrés, and highly recommend this trip!!

such an amazing and unique experience!! my partner and i have 0 regrets — the nature is so beautiful and one-of-a-kind, the paddling is fun and engaging (navigating the tandem kayak feels kind of like playing a super mario mini game), and andres is extremely knowledgeable and kind. we saw a myriad of fish, birds, stingrays, starfish, and even got to touch the mangroves so we could say we touched something that’ll still be here when we aren’t haha

Brilliant morning with Andres. Good safety brief to start and then an amazing, leisurely paddle across the lagoon and through the mangroves watching the Tiger Heron, Blue Heron, Frigates, and an Osprey. Amazing sight of a turtle right alongside us, plus a stingray, barracuda and lots of starfish. A great way to spend a couple of hours and get to see the nature of Laguna de Nichupte with a great guide.

We had a great time kayaking around and through the Mangroves! The setting was great, but the guide was fantastic – we learned so much about wildlife in the area. Definitely a trip we'll recommend to all of our friends vacationing in Cancun!

It was an amazing trip, we have been advised how to use Kayak and received all necessary information. The nature was breathtaking and the guide always took care of us, informed us all the way about the surrunding, animals and the nature systems which was very interesting. This is an highly recommended Tour if you want to do something active, something relaxing, in connection with the nature and get knowledge about beautiful Mexico!

This was a fun experience. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Cancun in the early morning. Andres was a great guide. He was very friendly and funny. He made the tour very fun and he was knowledgeable about the lagoon environment. I would highly recommend this tour, whether you are new to kayaking or have experience.

Had the best experience with Andres! He is a really knowledgeable guide and all round nice guy. From using the tide and winds to our advantage, to his encyclopedic knowledge of the local wild life and ecology. I cannot recommended him highly enough. The trip was so good we have already booked a second adventure with him.

Although they didn’t have availability on the day we wanted, accommodations were made for us on another day. Communication was good despite the scheduling issues! The trip was great at Sunrise. Andres was very knowledgeable about the area and habitat of various species that live amongst the mangroves. We were able to traverse some very tight spaces in the mangroves. We saw starfish, several types of cranes and fishing birds catching fish in front of us! It was not strenuous and we moved at the pace we wanted. Notes: you will get your shoes wet. You may get your swimsuit wet. Dry packs for our phones were provided. We didn’t need bug spray on our trip.

I highly recommend this tour. Andres not only organized it very well but was also so knowledgeable about the lagoon and it’s flora and fauna and really looked after us well. Getting to the location was super easy - Andres sent us the location on WhatsApp and we took a taxi to the location. Once we reached the location, there was a place to keep out stuff safely since we didn’t want to take everything on the kayak. Getting on the kayak itself was amazing. The crystal clear waters of the lagoon and the stunning mangroves in the morning light were the highlight for us! Andres took us through the mangroves, all the while explaining to us the ecology of the place. He also regularly checked in with us to make sure we were not too tired before deciding which place we would go to next. We saw lots of birds, starfish, and even a small crocodile! HIGHLY recommend this tour if you’re looking to do something off the beaten path in Cancun and learn more about the place’s ecological beauty!

Beautiful morning touring the mangroves and learning about the flora and fauna of the place. Andrés is a guide who is passionate about what he does and made us notice the different sounds of the birds, the crabs when cutting the branches and the habits of each of the animals that frequent the area! Super recommended activity to do both with the family and alone.

I did the kayak activity at sunrise. It was beautiful! Both guides, Andrés and Damián, are super attentive, the place is divine, quiet, and the duration of the tour is perfect. Without a doubt, a place that not many visit but it is worth 1000!

The experience was amazing. Getting into the mangrove and scouring the canals is certainly something we should all do sometime. It is wonderful to be able to perceive nature through this activity. On our tour we were fortunate to observe the diversity of fauna and the different types of mangroves, all thanks to Andrés who is an expert and passionate in the subject. Andres was a great guide! He has a lot of knowledge about the lagoon and nature. It was our turn to stop at a beach halfway through the tour. I would recommend the tour at dawn, before it gets very hot

A great experience if you like contact with nature. 🐢🍃🐟 I went on the morning tour, and it's really extraordinary all the tranquility you breathe on site, it relaxes you too much, plus you can better enjoy the sounds of nature and hopefully be able to see some of the species that inhabit the place. Andrés is an excellent guide, he makes the tour very enjoyable, as he knows a lot about the flora and fauna of the lagoon, which also makes you stay interested. Ah! not forgetting to mention that he takes some pictures of you 📷very parents and gives you a snack , all this at an excellent price! 👌 It is certainly something I would repeat again. 😁

Loved the tour!! It guides you and explains about the mangroves and the living beings that inhabit them; several let themselves be seen, others deliberately pose for you to admire. A connection to nature and the heart of Cancun. I recommend it in its entirety! They'll love it!

I loved this tour, our guide Andrés was always very attentive to all those of the group, he knows a lot about his work that is rating as his passion, he was teaching us about the little animals that inhabit the lagoon and their habits, plus the walk itself is beautiful, a very close contact with nature, although you are very close to civilization, the noise of cars, etc. takes a moment in which disappears and only the sound of oars remains when the water and birds ply. The weather was fabulous because we did the tour at the best time of the year, the water of the lagoon looked very transparent and you could see always seen the animals that live in the background, we saw many starfish and we went to a beach almost desert that was loved, the part that I enjoyed the most was when the current dragged us in the canals and only be able to enjoy nature, I really still surprised how transparent the water looked. Our guide prepared for everything, kept us hydrated with bottled water and even gave us some amazing photos of my wife and me that he was taking during the tour, it is really worth it, it is one of the tours you should do on your visit to Cancun, it is also super recommended for those who live here and we did not know the lagoon and its canals. We will definitely do this tour again and recommend it to all my friends. I'm also eager to return and take the sunset tour.

Excellent!! I would never have imagined that the Nichupté lagoon was so beautiful and full of life, it has even starfish!! Our guide was extraordinary, always attentive to us and very knowledgeable about fauna and flora as well as the aquifer currents, we hope to do it again
